Sargent Appliance stores used to be out go to store whenever furnishing new construction homes…read morethroughout Wayne and Oakland county- but that was when the original owner was still around. I miss the original owner as unfortunately his heir has apparently let the ship sink when it comes to reliability, quality, INTEGRITY, and overall customer satisfaction!!! SMH For starters, I urge EVERYONE to avoid signing up for the 'EXTENDED WARRANTY'- what you're paying for is for young, fresh out of high school kids who don't know anything about being PUNCTUAL and who have no shame in not even showing up for your simple appointments as agreed upon- so if you enjoy WASTING TIME, being lied to, and just throwing money away, then by all means sign up for their 'extended warranty' and learn the hard way if you like it like that? ALSO, I don't know that alot of these sales people do (whether you goto the Clinton Township store or the Rochester one)- oftentimes, they just stand around and don't really help new customers as they're browsing the floor models inside the store- and if you do end up purchasing an appliance, in particular one that has more than a 7 day waiting/fulfillment time frame, you can count on ONE THING to be consistent about these 'sales men/women'- they WILL NEVER CALL you when the item is in stock/ready to be shipped. So again if TIME and scheduling (simply HONESTY) is important to you, then steer clear from Sargent Appliance- they have no shame in either LYING to you or in wasting your time!!! SMH

Sargents did a good and quick job delivering the Maytag dishwasher…read more However, the Maytag dishwasher had a leak and it still sounds like a wounded animal after Maytag service has been at our house 3 times. Now, they have ordered a bunch of parts to try to fix it by replacement. I gave the Maytag reference number to the Sargent's sales person hoping they could get help with their Maytag rep. But I never heard back from the Sargent sales person. Do NOT buy a Maytag dishwasher.

Let me start by saying I wish I would have contacted Great Lakes Appliance first. Our dryer stopped…read moreheating up and therefore was not drying our clothes properly. As this is one of the appliances covered under DTE's Home Protection Plus plan we have I contacted them and they sent out a company called Phil's Services. They came out on August 25th and said some parts needed to be ordered to complete the repair and they should be in in around 3 to 7 days and that someone would call me to schedule an appointment to have them installed. Weeks go by and no one from Phil's had called me so I take it upon myself to call and see what the hold up is. I am told I need to speak with their Parts Department, but no one was available and they'd call me back shortly. The following day someone finally calls me back and says the parts are on their way and should be in within 3 days. I said "Great, let's schedule an appointment now for you to come out and install them." and the guy tells me he can't do that until the parts actually come in. Two more weeks have gone by and no one from Phil's had called me back. Fed up and aggravated beyond belief I contacted DTE and they sincerely apologized for the troubles and said they would send out someone from Great Lakes and they were a much better company to deal with than Phil's. The tech was scheduled between 1:00PM and 2:00PM, but actually showed up early. Kudos to that! My only small complaint is he didn't call to let me know he was on his way. Luckily I work from home so I was here. No big problem. I explained everything that had been going on with Phil's and he seemed genuinely shocked. According to him he said that both the flame sensor and coils that were originally diagnosed as the problem per Phil's are very common parts any HVAC tech should have on hand in their truck and the issue should have been fixed that day. If they don't have them in their truck then their shop most certainly does. The fact I had to wait a month and never got a call back from Phil's was truly unacceptable. He then went on to tell me that it didn't even look like the tech from Phil's even opened up the dryer to see what was wrong and just took an educated guess at the problem. Reason being is that of the two parts that were needing to be replaced per Phil's, only one was actually bad which were the coils. Not more than 15 minutes later he had the part replaced and the dryer working again. Thank God for Great Lakes Appliance. They will most certainly get my business again if a problem ever arises.

We have been buying refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, etc at John R Appliance for our rental properties for many years now. They are used appliances but they are all cleaned up, tested, and repaired if necessary and John R warrants them for 90 days. They also can arrange for delivery and can take away any previous appliance that is being replaced. In our experience the things we have bought have worked well and, since tenants can be hard on appliances, we don't feel the need to get new ones when used seems to be a better value. They have lower end to premium brands and the prices are in line with what you select, but not all that different. The guys there may look a little rough but they do know what they're doing and deliver good value, and they don't bite...at least so far.

This is a very good local appliance store. They have a large selection of appliances, from high end…read moreto low end, from many different brands at good prices. Our salesman, Jake, spent a lot of time with us as we looked for a new refrigerator. We had already researched models online but being able to touch and explore them in person made us feel more confident in our choice. Another plus is that Sargent has its own crews (vs. contractors) to install and uninstall appliances. We had heard horror stories of contracted, big box store crews refusing to haul away refrigerators so a store with its own crews made us feel more secure.

Here's what I did find at Sargent......they have a pretty extensive in stock inventory---whih is what I needed since the workers were already at my house doing a kitchen remodel. I selected another cooktop--and got it at a great price. Got home with the cooktop and it didn't fit the opening.....called back to Sargent. John (at the Clinton store and one of the owners) got me a different cooktop (that does fit) and made it right.....right then and right there. I cannot say enough about this company--EXCEPT---now I know where I will START when I need another appliance in the future. These people are TERRIFIC to work with. I NEVER write reviews, but wanted to let anyone who reads this know they are dealing with a great company--and you get the service and attention you want and need when you are making important appliance decisions. THEY ARE GREAT!!!!!
