I was assigned Anna who was awesome as well as all the assistants showing me the various exercises. The front desk ladies are helpful in booking appointments and running things smoothly. I'd get texts as appointment reminders too. Overall I'm very pleased that I was able to go here for treatment.

Two and a half months later, I was able to regain my range of motion and strength in the affected area as well. I owe my recovery to Dr. Talia Strahler, she was wonderful, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout this entire process! I would guess that people oftentimes have questions if they'll ever fully recover from comparable surgeries or feel that the process might be too difficult. I had similar thoughts and feelings, but once I got here they all went away. This recovery was definitely a team effort and I thank everyone so much for being the absolute best. It was such a welcoming environment, the staff is easy to communicate with. Scheduling is very easy and flexible, it's wonderful to get reminder text messages about upcoming appointments. Again, everyone is so friendly that oftentimes the work you're doing doesn't really feel like work because you're being checked-in on and/or there is great music playing in the background. This was an experience that I will not forget, nor the people involved! I know that if I ever need physical therapy again that I'll come back here in a heartbeat. I wish nothing but the best to everyone there and future patients!

They took the time to address the gaps that are so often overlooked--offering personalized support, education, and reassurance every step of the way. I could hardly hear her because there were so many loud kids in the background yelling. I told her that I didn't want to create a username and password and asked if it were possible to not give her my email address. She said no. All of their exercises and billing are done online. She said they cannot store my medical files online. I said that's only if I don't sign HIPAA. She said, "Well then, if you don't sign HIPAA, then you're not good fit with us." I don't have a problem signing HIPAA. I never said I don't want to sign HIPAA. I just know from my chiropractor's office that they store medical files in file cabinets because none of their patients have signed HIPAA. Lady Bird can store all of my medical files online and add me to the system as long as I sign HIPAA. I just don't want to log in to look at my exercises because I already have a gazillion accounts online. I did not appreciate her attitude. I also know at Mondo Therapy, patients are not required to create a username and password.

From the beginning, I could tell how humble & kind Ted was and took as much time he could to understand what I had gone through with previous injuries & pain points I had in my body. He made sure to do his proper assessments and come up with an initial workout/PT plan that became more customized to my body as he learned more from how my body reacted. I mainly communicate with Ted over WhatsApp and we set in person check ups based on how I am doing throughout my workout/rehab program. At first, I wasn't too sure how this would work if our in person meetings were very limited but Ted is a great communicator on WhatsApp by making sure you have everything you need. I send all my videos of different exercises I do in my workout plan to get guidance & tips from Ted & address anything that causes pain. I've dealt with lower back pain for many years and never thought I would be able to do heavy lifts like squats or deadlifts. However, Ted has been the only one to get me past that point and this is the strongest I've been. Even with setbacks at times, Ted reassures me that it is a part of the process and I always bounce back & make a lot more progress. Thanks for everything thus far Ted and I am excited to see how far we will get! If you are like me and have a heavy internet in weightlifting & tried a ton of different PTs, Chiropractors, Doctors, etc with minimal progress on your pain then its time you meet with Ted.

Through videoconferencing, he conducted an initial assessment of my body movements, diagnosed my source of discomfort, and prescribed a set of stretches to increase my mobility and flexibility. After 3-4 weeks, my pain during squatting disappeared and hasn't returned since. In terms of coaching, my goals were to get stronger and more muscular overall focusing on my posterior chain. Dr. Ted created a lifting program that included a mix of exercises to meet my goals as well as a plan for bulking that included tracking my calories and macros. What I like best about Dr. Ted is that he listens to you and thinks carefully about what your goals are because he truly cares about helping you achieve them. He's accessible through multiple avenues of communication. He provides feedback through videos of your lifts, asks about your workout after each one through messaging, and makes changes based on what you share with him. He patiently listens to and solicits ongoing feedback while maintaining a calm and positive demeanor. He helps you cognitively reframe your behavior when you're feeling down or unmotivated to help keep you on track. In less than 6 months, I've gained several inches of muscle everywhere including 2.5" of growth in my glutes. I recommend him highly if you need a professional with a rare mix of physical therapy knowledge, lifting experience, and motivational techniques. He provides a holistic exercise program that you can trust to keep you physically safe while optimizing your physique goals and maintaining your motivation.

SATG provided exactly that. I appreciated the one-on-one sessions, as opposed to the 2-3 patients at a time approach used elsewhere. This personal attention made me feel that my treatment was tailored specifically to me rather than just going through the motions. Kelly was my primary therapist, and she was both thorough and professional. She set goals at the beginning of my treatment and closely tracked my progress. Her encouragement as we approached those goals was greatly appreciated. Kelly explained each exercise and its benefits clearly, which I found valuable as someone who relies on information. She also provided exercises for me to do at home and regularly inquired about my progress or any setbacks during our off time. I also had a few sessions with Lee, who was equally skilled. SATG keeps detailed records of your progress, ensuring a smooth transition if another therapist needs to take over. Both Kelly and Lee are friendly and kind individuals. If you are considering this practice, know this up front. I was billed ten times my expected…read moreinsurance cost, and nobody told me beforehand. I came in for an evaluation with Dr. Shook after texting the office ahead of time to ask about insurance, since I also wanted to book my mom for the same day. It took four full days to get a reply, and when it came, it only addressed Mom's Medicare not being accepted. Nothing was said about my own insurance, Sendero, not being accepted. I cancelled my appointment at that time and decided I would rebook at a later date, which gave them ample time to evaluate my insurance and whether it was accepted. That should be standard practice for any professional healthcare establishment. I found that out after my appointment, when my card was charged $200 with no conversation about cost beforehand. My plan lists a $20 copay for this kind of visit. Ten times that landed on my card with zero warning. When I disputed the charge with my bank, the practice claimed they had emailed me a cost disclosure six days before my appointment. I never received that email. My own text history with them from that shows no mention of Sendero or a $200 fee at all, only the Medicare question for my mom. I work in healthcare myself. I know the pressures of running a small practice. That is not the issue here. The issue is that this practice does not disclose cost up front, will charge whatever card is on file without confirming you understand you are paying full retail, and offers no real resolution once you push back. I want to be clear that Dr. Shook's clinical work was excellent and i would rate that part of the experience 5 stars. My issue is entirely with how money and communication are handled here. There is no front desk and no clear check in process, I sat in an empty waiting room until I let myself into the treatment area because I heard someone inside. If you carry any insurance besides what they clearly prefer, get your coverage and cost confirmed in writing before you book. They will not volunteer it.

Dr. Davis at Training Room ATX is the real deal…read more First off, he's just a great dude. Blunt in the best way, funny, optimistic, and clearly someone who cares deeply about doing things the right way. You can tell he comes from a military background, not because he's rigid, but because his intent is always about getting the job done with high standards and real purpose. I've been going to him for a couple of years now. I'm 38, play men's league baseball, and I'm definitely not in the best shape of my life. Still, Dr. Davis has made it possible for me to keep playing, stay on the field, and actually contribute to my team's success. More than once, he's done something in a session that made me stop and think, "Whoa... I can actually do that better than I thought." What really sets him apart is his practicality. I have a home gym, sent him a picture of it, and he completely nailed a customized workout plan around my nagging injuries: no extreme stuff, no gimmicks, just clever, realistic, practical work. I tend to play like I forget I'm 38, and he helps keep me honest and functional. He's incredibly knowledgeable, has a great sense of humor, and as a teacher who's on his feet and mentally drained all day, I genuinely look forward to my sessions with him. That says a lot. Highly recommend Dr. Davis and Training Room ATX to athletes, or honestly, anyone who wants to get better. You'll be in great hands.
