We saw Dr Lora 6 months ago for a cleaning. Our bill was completely covered. We went back in for a this year's second cleaning that has also alway been covered. I received a bill from her for almost $400 for my two kids. In the last six months, she stopped taking my insurance. AOMS is still listed as accepting blue cross of Texas. We were not notified she was no longer in network. There is nothing special about her. Apparently another doctor is in network there. We could have seen him if the clinic was honest and upfront. I would have never brought my kids back if we had been informed she stopped accepting our insurance. I feel scammed. read more

Their policy is to not allow parents in the exam room while the child is getting general cleaning and work done. I am extremely uncomfortable with this. With all of the things happening in the world why am I not allowed to be back there? I understand if it was a surgery, but a general visit and cleaning? Come on! Google recent problems with this policy in other cities...Most parents take care of their children's teeth anyway, and need to know where improvements are needed. Looking for recommendations on a dentist who allows us to be back there. read more

I had read the reviews before coming, knowing I may hear that I can't go back with my child during a cavity filling/capping. This is in fact true, and they are not willing to bend the rules. I was also told they could "cocoon" my three year old and keep her strapped to the table if she got scared and wiggly while giving her laughing gas or another sedative? As an adult, this sounds absolutely terrifying for myself. Let alone my 3 year old. I would love to know the intentions behind the reason they don't let a parent be with their kids, because after studying child psychology and being a chronically sick as a child myself, I could not imagine my parents not allowed to be involved and help me cope through those stressful times. Also, the trauma of something like I mentioned above happening to a child will cause continued fear of going to the dentist for the child. My kids are currently not afraid of going to the dentist, and I am not going to break THEIR trust in me as their parent by sending them away to be tortured by themselves. Without me! Regardless of why this policy is so strictly enforced, there should NEVER be a situation where a child is unconscious without their parent. Where is the accountability? How can the parents know what is actually happening to their child? This screams deceit and abuse without even having to utter one word. AMOS: Please please please think about changing your policy. Parents: stay away. Stand your ground. There are other AMAZING dentists here in the Amarillo area that accept Medicaid and are more than willing to let a parent join their child during a traumatic event such as getting cavities filled. read more

Forgive me I forgot the doctors name Had a consultation for tongue tie on my newborn infant. Infant wasn't verified on insurance yet because he's a new born. The female doctor was very condescending! She was like this is your first child right? Which yes it is, the pediatrician in hospital said he had a tongue tie. His pcp was concerned because of the tongue tie he couldn't get his tongue to the top of his pallet,and couldn't stick his tongue to his lip. At this place she said the tongue tie was very mild and doesn't need anything but if we wanted we could have the tongue tie surgery done at 10 weeks old. She made me feel like why did I even come in for this?! He is 2 weeks old now. We went to quail creek ent today and they did the little snip in the clinic as part of the consultation. Idk why they wanted to wait and charge an arm and a leg. It takes less than 30 seconds to do. They don't use anesthesia for circumcision and if they do it early enough they shouldn't need it for a tongue tie. So thankful we got a second opinion and got it taken care of at quail creek ent! Highly recommended them, save your money and skip this place! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm not the type of person to go and bash a company online but things need to be addressed for future parents that want to take their child to this business for any kind of dental work. My daughter is 4 years old and we took her in for a simple back molar cavity to be taken care of. We go in to get a simple fix or extraction. And in order to do that they required my daughter to take "princess juice" to make her sedated just to have X-rays done. And they were refusing me being in the room with my daughter due to me being a nervous parent. Who wouldn't be nervous when the staff says things like "we have this board we can strap her to Incase she gets upset while we're doing work" so I can't be in the room and you are going to strap her down? Absolutely not! She had her sedation and had multiple staff doing the X-rays and were telling her "great job! You're doing so well! I was seeing the pictures on the screen and they were saying they got good pictures. Then they came back after 30 minutes and said the pictures were inconclusive and couldn't fix a cavity! A simple cavity! And they refused to work on her and referred her to surgery and said she had cavities on all her teeth! Which is an absolute lie! Then the bill went from $494 to $12,000!!! This place is a joke and I would never in a million years refer a parent to this place. read more

If there was an option to select zero stars I would do so. This establishment request payment in full when services are rendered. Upon giving my payment in full and my insurance also paying for the services I had a refund credit. They never let me know I had a credit, I called them November 8, 2021 and they said it takes two weeks to issue refund. It has now been 6 weeks and the check has not been issued. They keep giving me the run around. What is frustrating is that if they ask for payment at time of service they should be able to issue a refund to their customers also in a timely manner. It's a joke how they handle their business. read more
