I ran out of space to include this above, but we continued to have problems DURING the wedding…read more Four of the rooms were reserved under my mother-in-law's name because she was getting them for members of the wedding party. Both she and I went in in person to discuss this with the front desk. Yet, the night before the wedding, there were a group of our groomsmen left to try to negotiate with the front desk. The front desk insisted they could not put it on a card with someone's else's name, though this had been pre-arranged and the HI manager/staff never once mentioned that before. They insisted on getting credit cards from different people for each room. The next day, my mother in law had to go in to confirm once again that she wanted the rooms on her card (and give them a piece of her mind). We all agreed this must have been the most business ever done by this Holiday Inn and, unless they improve their management, I don't see them contiuing to get much more. (And, for the record, the guests who did get rooms and manage to stay without getting hassled, said the rooms were quite nice for the price.)

Big bathroom, nice work area, nice TV with regular Direct TV (no trapware). and a quiet heater. 2 pillows for each sleeping spot, one labeled soft one labeled firm. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great - cinnamon rolls, pancakes, eggs, muffins, cereal, juice, good coffee, sausage, ham, and hard boiled eggs. All free. Only complaint was the shower head. Lots of hot water but it was an adjustable head with 3 flow patterns, too hard, too soft, and WAY too soft. Small complaint though.

To my surprise, they had availability, it was $70 cheaper than the Hampton, and the Front Desk person was much more pleasant, even signing me up for the rewards without any hassle. They gave me the same member-level perks as Hilton (free water - hey, I ain't complainin!). I paid $89 for a King Standard on a weekday, and I got a spacious room with a comfortable bed. The decor was dated and smelled a little of stale smoke (non-smoking hotel), but the bathroom was clean, the water was hot, with good water pressure, and the towels were clean. WiFi was excellent and I slept well. Except for the smell of the room and the wake-up call that I never got (late to get back on the road!), I'd give a 5 star rating based on the price and customer focus. I plan to stop again next time I'm on the I-40.

Everyone from 10 to 80 years of age has cell phones now. The rooms are tired with patched wallpaper and they are in desperate need of new carpets and new bedding. Staff is super nice and friendly which is why I gave them 3 stars. We are very disappointed. Update: Shower: shower spray does not adjust and continues to fall off shower arm. No shampoo, 2 tissues in the tissue box and no spare box. Table that holds coffee and tea is in need of serious cleaning If you need a handicap accessible room... do not come here.

The hotel was very careful on Hotels.com to make it look like the rooms were not on the outside of the hotel, I absolutely would have chosen somewhere else had I known the doors to the rooms were not inside the hotel. I feel like this was intentional so they automatically lose a star for that. I genuinely only stayed here because I didn't want to stay in Albuquerque, thinking it would be safer outside of there. We checked in late, like 9:15pm or so. The lady at the front desk was so friendly and sweet that she deserves 5 stars. The lobby area was clean, and so was the outside of the hotel. The room was fine, it was basic but clean. The bedding was clean and so were the walls. The ac did not work very well, so that kind of sucked but I can deal with it since we weren't staying a significant amount of time here and it wasn't insanely hot. The problem lies in the area of the hotel and the clientele that stays here. In the parking lot there's people just sitting on parking blocks smoking and staring, lots of people walking the halls so all you see is shadows of people walking past your window which is a little unsettling when you have 2 kids with you. Definitely wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're cool with sketchy people going past your room all evening.

The facility is very clean, the staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was everything you could hope for on a road trip. Beds are comfy with lots of pillows. Sheets were nice and soft. The shower had great water pressure. The TV worked perfectly and had lots of options and it's got a couple of dining options nearby as well as a giant Walmart. The wife and I took advantage of the pool and Jacuzzi and it was super relaxing! Nice and warm and helped us settle in for some needed rest. I would stay here again and I would recommend it for you as well.

We had several friends do the same, so it was nice to hang out in seating area on the lawn and catch up. The room is pretty basic but comfortable. Large bed, mini fridge, dresser... all of the basic amenities you would need. They also have some snacks and items in the fridge for purchase. It does make it confusing when you bring in your own stuff, but I managed :) Staff here is great, accomodating and very friendly. What sells me on this place is the location. Situated on a golf course, the views are great and if are up early enough you can see the hot air balloons. The hotel is set back from the main street so for the most part, it's a very quiet area. (I say most part because you do get the occasional tee time announcement over the loud speaker but it wasn't bad). You are also close to a lot of restaurants and shopping. Getting into the city is also easy, maybe 20-30 minutes away. So... the real question. Would I stay here again? If I am traveling solo or with my wife, yes. As a family, probably not. I am not sure what other room styles they have but with no microwave and only a mini fridge, I need something larger for the family.
