Craigslist Ben is the best!!!! My girlfriend and I are new to the area and did not have time to really look around. Called Ben up, told him what we were looking for and when we would be in town to look at apartments. We arrived 30 minutes late to our appointment(sorry) and Ben had already picked a handful of places for us. We looked at places online then when we told him how soon we would need to move in is when Ben really showed us his stuff. Having to rent from out of state, I relied on Apartment Pros for help. The locator was good and had a good list of apartments. Although the locator was really good and friendly, he did a lousy job getting us an apartment that suits our need. He outright lied to us about something we were looking for. We were disappointed with the service as we had to sign-up prior to our move and found out later that one of our primary criteria was not met. I contacted Sharon Hoch, an employee at Apartment Pros, we talked on the phone for over forty-five minutes one day. Since I do not live in town, I told her everything I was looking for in an apartment. Sharon said she would browse for apartments that meet all of my criteria. During that week I kept in contact with her, reminding her of the things I would like an apartment to have. She claimed she would have a list for me to go look at as soon as I arrived. I made an appointment with her to go look at apartments for the next week. I traveled from out of town so I was on a very big time limitation. However, when I got to my appointment it was as if she had no idea who I was and the fact that we had been texting for a week and talked on the phone for forty-five minutes was a nonexistent thing. I had to sit down with her for close to two hours and retell her everything I was looking for and repeating everything I had already told her the past week. Big waste of time. She told me she would have a list of apartments for me to look at upon my arrival, I told her everything I needed in an apartment over the phone, text, and I had to tell her again in person. Before I arrived for my appointment I replied to her text asking if she had a list of several apartments for me to look it as soon as I got there, she ignored my text and the next text she sent me was after my appointment telling me to make sure she got credit for being my apartment locator. It appeared as if she knew she did not have a list ready for me, even though she told me she would be prepared, and ignored my text when I was asking an important question. However, she did offer a few useful and helpful tips during my appointment so I do appreciate that. Also, she did take me to go look at a few apartments (but at red light she decided to clip her nails in the car, I did not think that was professional). Overall the experience was not the best, I most likely will not use an apartment locator again, it felt like waste of time and I am extremely disappointed she told me she would be prepared but absolutely was not; I still had to do 99% of the work with finding an apartment, so I am unsure what the purpose of an apartment locator is if they are going to make the clients do their job. Nice lady who offered a couple of useful tips, but I would not recommend her, especially if you are on a time crunch. read more
