Yesterday Rogers Roofing began our roofing/soffit/attic project to the tune of $80k. They left the project unfinished with a promise to return the next day to finish it and clean up. They promised the driveway would be free of nails so we could drive on it, but the rest they would clean up when they returned and finished the following day. No one has showed up today. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE CALL US BACK? Our "lead guy" Edgar will not return calls or texts and has no voice mail. The office hasn't returned our calls since yesterday. Our driveway was left littered with sharp nails (which luckily we checked before we drove on it). There are tons of different types of nails, staples, and green pin nails (nail side UP) all around our house where kids walk and play. There are water bottles, trash, and a pile of our shingles they have yet to put on that is unprotected and one of our downspouts was removed and not put back on (again, storm coming). There is a pile of supples left in front of our garage blocking our car. Our gutters must be full of nails and old shingles. I can good picture of our gazebo to show what state our other gutters must be left in. They broke my planter from Italy and damaged a screen throwing the old shingles off. They didn't protect my home when replacing skylights and left my entire bathroom covered in drywall pieces and dust (even on my toothbrush). Edgar showed up late to the job when they were protecting the home so they dropped the ball completely. THEY ARE GHOSTING US. Robert Buchanan is a charismatic man that sold us a false bill of goods. We were told they have W2 employees who go through a rigorous process to work for them. He showed me a paper and said that no one would leave the job site without it being in satisfactory shape and we would sign this form daily (did not happen). He raved about this reputable, amazing company and this is clearly all lies. ROGERS, if you are reading this, call us back. Our roof is unfinished, our house is in a deplorable, UNSAFE state and a huge storm is coming!

Chad kept us informed every step of the way, from what work was being done, to the estimates completion date. When he showed up for the estimate, he gave us some options, took some measurements and we had a written estimate before he left. From approving the estimate to the materials showing up was only two weeks! The crew (Andy and Jack) showed up every day ready to work and did so tirelessly until the end of each day. They asked great questions to make sure nothing got damaged or misplaced, and the finished product was better that we had hoped! All scrap was removed and our yard was left in great condition. The job took six days for removal of old material and installation of new siding, soffit, fascia and gutters. Most importantly, the wife is happy!

Then I had to bring up the subject of stairs. I work during the day and this guy is wasting my time with his lack of sales skills and knowledge. So then he goes to his car and write up an estimate for $4,400. Congrats, you are the highest bidder! On the estimate form it says something like "Material prices go up in June, labor prices in July". This is to motivate you to sign now. He offers no information about whether or not the company is registered with the village. He wrote on the form "Customer gets permit", something we didn't discuss. I ended up hiring Caesar Garcia Concrete Solutions from Cicero thru Home Advisor. Saved $1400 with them. True professionals. Forget Vander Veer.

They are rated A+; however, in my book, they have a D due to their lack of professionalism. On Thursday, August 15th, the project manager came out to give me an estimate. She was friendly enough and very knowledgeable. The early stages of our initial encounter were pleasant, but when I asked about permits and the contract for my lawyer review, her demeanor changed. It seemed as though she had a problem with my request. Before the project manager left, I was told I would have the estimate by Friday, August 23rd. On August 23rd, I didn't hear from Anderson Construction, so I called. I was informed that the estimate wasn't complete yet because they were very busy. They reassured me it would be ready by the next day, Wednesday, August 28th. To my dismay, I didn't hear from Anderson on August 28 either. When I gave them a follow up call, the receptionist told me the project manger would call me back. The project manager never returned my phone call. I called them back on Thursday, August 29th. During this conversation, I was told that they sent me a text the prior day, but they messaged my landline so I didn't receive it. I gave them my cell number and was assured I would have the estimate that evening or Friday morning at the latest. I am writing this review on September 11, and I still waiting........... I was truly interested in doing business with this company, but their blatant display of unprofessionalism has been a turn off. If they can't provide an estimate in a timely manner, I can 't trust them to work on my home. Sheila M.
