This is probably the BEST construction business in NWI. I don't say that lightly. I am 79 years old and have had several other companies work on my house over the years. NONE of them treated me as respectfully and kindly as this group of young men. Their work was exemplary. They really care about what they do. Their craftsmanship is just phenomenal. They have redone my small bathroom so well that a couple of my very critical friends have called my bathroom "a spa". They have also replaced my windows. These windows are just absolutely beautiful. I called to ask about getting some work done on my home, and the man who answered the phone was immediately rude and impatient. I was trying to ask basic questions, and instead of giving me any real information, he kept cutting me off and snapping "NO" at me. When I asked why he was talking to me like that, he suddenly tried to tone it down, but still repeated the same line: " We only do bathrooms and kitchens." If that's all they offer, fine - but there was absolutely no reason for the attitude. He could have simply explained their limited scope instead of acting annoyed that I even called. Based on that interaction alone, I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. read more

Construction on our kitchen remodel just completed today and I am so happy. I couldn't write this review fast enough!! Yes, Apex does amazing work, has great product and great prices, but the people made the difference!!! Worked with Scott from day 1 and he was just fantastic- working through so many options with me and designed exactly what we were hoping for! And then the CREW... can't say enough about Tom & Eddie. They were so friendly, caring, detailed, and just all around great guys. I wanted to hug them! Also shout out to Rusty and 'Mucho' for the day that they worked with us too. I had Apex gut and totally redo my kitchen and both bathrooms a year ago. They were at my house, on time, every day (and for a full work day) until the project was complete. The workers were polite, professional, and congenial (with one another as well as me), and they cleaned up beautifully every day before leaving. Their attention to detail met my own high standards, and I never had any concern that they were cutting corners or otherwise providing me with anything less than excellent craftsmanship. It was clear they took pride in their work. This was my FIRST experience with any type of remodeling or home construction project, and I could NOT have been happier with the experience. I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist, so I wanted a company that would do things right without me having to check up on things constantly, and Apex far exceeded my expectations in that regard. We hired Jon's company to sand and stain our deck in June 2017. Very long story short, we tried every way to get ahold of Jon to talk about the work that was done for a year and a half. The office manager would always say she will have him call, but we never received a call. The deck was done incorrectly and was never finished. It's now green, rotting and will most likely have to be replaced. Not only was in raining that day but it had been raining for weeks prior. It clearly states on the 124 ounce can of Superdeck Transparent oil based Stain, to NOT apply "...if rain is likely to occur." Now, here we are at the end of 2018, we finally get a call from Jon and he threatens us with lawsuits/liens/collections etc at Christmas time, after we have spent as much as we can afford on our 3 daughters for Christmas. He repeatedly tells us how busy his company is, which we don't care because that has nothing to do with us. He says that his company is full of "professionals" but he was not willing to do anything to rectify my situation except gives us $100 off. Gee, thanks a lot, Jon. The following week, after an EXTREMELY rude phone call from Jon and his accountant Linda, who was yelling at me in the background, we paid him, so we never have to speak to him or his staff of "professionals" again. It is obvious that APEX is a poorly managed business at this point. Next summer we will be re-doing the work on our deck ourselves, correctly and professionally. We do not recommend this company to anyone unless you are into horrible customer service and enjoy being on a back burner. read more
