We finally replaced our giant 65 year old picture window thanks to Kraz Construction. We got our estimate from Conrad--who seemed very friendly, personable and a good (somewhat pushy) salesman. My husband and I liked him a lot, and I'm sure he brings in a lot of sales lol. We were unaware that we would have to make our decision before he left our house because we had planned on shopping around and they were our first quote. This was very frustrating because we were not planning on making a decision that day. We went ahead and signed the contract when my husband was pretty convinced we were getting some nice discounts, and I had checked them out on Facebook and Google and read a lot of positive reviews. We had solid communication with Kraz through Conrad and we only had to wait about 6 weeks from signing the contract to getting the custom made window installed. Conrad told me this was the normal timeframe at the time of the estimate so I was happy that. Justin and Joe installed the windows and they were extremely professional, respectful and hard-working. They worked from 9am till 2pm and any time I'd look outside, they were hard at work. I was very impressed with them. Installation was definitely a five star experience. I'll be honest that it is hard to figure out the rating for this review because we had a great experience with all employees we dealt with and we really do love our windows. However, they are over-priced. Weeks after we signed the contract, we got some estimates from a couple people (for the sake of curiosity) doing other work in our home. Kraz was more than DOUBLE. They do have a three day cancellation window (which was never discussed verbally but I noticed it when we signed the contract). However, that happened between a weekend and a holiday, and we couldn't get another company out in that time. From this point on, my husband and I agreed to never go with a company that forces you to sign with them at the moment of the estimate. Live and learn. That should have been disclosed from the start--when we set up our appointment with the woman canvassing the neighborhood. We've had different estimates from different kinds of companies in our home since then (we are remodeling a couple rooms) and Kraz was the only business that had this policy (but I know there are many others). I will say though, that the windows are absolutely beautiful and they did a great job. Our house looks totally different on the outside we love the transformation. The very cold draft from our old window is all gone. All employees were very friendly and professional. Plus, we have a lifetime warranty, and I have faith that they stand behind that promise. If you are wondering if I'd recommend this company, I'd say yes...just shop around and get other estimates BEFORE talking with Kraz. And be prepared to sign the same day! read more

We applied for a loan in March to refinance and the VA had many conditions. We decided to repair our garage but did not have the money. This company worked with our lender to have us pay some now and pay the remainder upon release of the loan proceeds. We signed a contract in May and was told 4-6 weeks to get the materials and it would be a 1-2 day job. Six weeks was June 23rd. They came on June 26th and 27th. The garage looks great except they did not measure for the window for the garage for 3 weeks after we signed the contract. We had to point out some areas that needed new wood which was not originally not caught by the installer crew. Then we were informed that the window was not there. Upon calling the company today, we are told that 7/16/26 is when the window would be in. There is no urgency given to our situation. My husband is disabled and the improvements to our home are to help with his accessibility. We cannot start with any other work until the loan proceeds are released. We thought they cared and would be diligent and on time. The work quality is there but the consideration for others timelines(like getting things done before winter) is totally lacking. ZERO stars! I purchased a new entry door, storm door,& all new hardware October 2022. With supply issues, the doors didn't come in until March 16, 2023.I noticed the storm door & hardware is wrong. Main door only had a keypad deadbolt & the storm door was the wrong one! They needed to reorder the storm door, the hardware & I had to deal with the deadbolt issue for a month. Also found the Main door wasnt flush/sealed with light coming through. I called them & told they would look into when they return w/ storm door. April 25, 2023-The storm door was installed, switched out hardware,one was still incorrect but forget it! The Installer stated he didn't like how 1st installer did the entry door, it was too loose. So he adjusted it & gave it a tighter close. Told me that I would have to push hard or pull hard on the door to latch for a few weeks until the seal around the frame forms to the pressure. Woohoo thought that was the end. NOPE! I had called them back, about a week later, new storm door wasnt shutting & hitting the frame due to expanding in sun. I also noticed the entry plate on door frame was also unstable & bent forward when stepped on. Like there was nothing under to support it. So I called them about that & was informed they would look into it when the come adjust my storm door. Thats not all folks! May 12,2023 I noticed a manufacturing defect in the panels of my main entry door. The door wasn't completely sealed together & looked like the panels were separating from each other & cut with a dull blade. May 25, 2023-They came back out,Fixed the sagging entry plate.Took pictures of the defective door & had to order another door & take about 4 months to come in! Two weeks later I also notice a crack in my door frame by the hardware & a random screw loosly between. I called it in. They stated that they will be able to fix it all when the door comes in. Its been 5 months & my door still didn't shut unless slammed to latch. My son would leave for school & the door wouldn't be fully shut. I'd come home to a door that could be tapped open because it wasn't catching the latch. OCTOBER 27,2023! (1 year since purchase) I called them for an update as it's been 5 months. They couldn't find my delivery papers so, they had the warehouse search if it was even there. They called me back stating it's never been delivered. So they stated it will be here on a Monday 10/30/2023 and install it 1st thing 9am Friday morning. I had to call off work just to get it taken care of. I asked Brandy about the frame issues as well because I don't want them showing up just expecting to switch out my door. They need to replace the frame again. She had to call the boss & discuss the issues to find a solution & call me back. November 3,2023 Friday It's 9:40am & no one has shown up. I called them because my daughter had a doctor's appointment at 12pm. I was told the guy was still at another location but he's finishing up & will be there shortly. I thought I was the 1st thing?! Around 10:30ish I call again. He's still at the first job! I had no show!!!! So I told her to forget it as I needed to get my daughter to her appointment. They show up January 5, 2024 w/ new frame & door. Frame is damaged! After inspecting entry door, I was asked to store the door at my home to minimize possibility of getting damaged. Appointment was set up week of January 29th. Called me the day before the appointment to reschedule. I was LIVID! BRANDY gave me attitude. I proceeded to tell her the time & money I've lost while paying off an incomplete door for 1.5 years! They showed up Saturday February 3rd (1 HOUR LATE) & it's still not finished. I'm missing a screw that was never screwed in on a hinge & a protective cover for exposed screws to the outer frame of storm door. Called & left Brandy a message that week requesting this. I was never called back. 12/7/2024 I'm hanging a wreath & the suction cup falls off the door panel & it took paint with it!!! I'm over it!! I've been paying off a $5299 bill since May of 2023! Our cedar siding was very chipped and worn, our home needed a makeover. We contracted Kraz Construction to remove all the old cedar siding and replace it with vinyl siding, with trim on all doors and windows. Peter, TJ, Donny & Dave did a wonderful job. We are really happy with the new siding and our home looks like a new house. The installers were always on-time, professional and always polite. They worked really hard and took great care in their craft. Kraz took care of ordering any permits that may have been needed and the dumpster. We were impressed at how Kraz had everything scheduled to run like clockwork. The materials arrived early in the morning. A few minutes later the dumpster was dropped off. Right after that the installers arrived. Any questions or concerns we had were answered with patience and detail. There was some rain water damage to a small portion of inner-wood underneath our cedar panels. Peter did not ignore that, he took the time to rectify the problem. That spoke volumes to us because we appreciate a company that works with integrity and care for their customers. We ended up amending our contract to have the dormer siding redone as well and we appreciate how Peter helped us decide how to blend-in the dormer with the bottom half of the house. The Kraz team were on-site working hard, even in the 28 degree cold weather. We have already received a request to sell the house (LOL), but we plan to stay and enjoy the new look. I'd give them a lower rating if I could. The estimator showed up a little late(10 mins from appointment time) and wasn't prepared to give me a written estimate which is what I specifically asked for from him when I set the appointment. He carried no paperwork or clipboard and didn't even have a flashlight to see the damage I had on my garage siding. He then told me they don't replace damaged vinyl siding. I asked him why his employer would send him all the way out to Hebron,IN to write an estimate at 6pm on a Wednesday night in November when it's nearly dark outside if they didn't do this kind of work and he said he didn't know! After climbing up and trampling some of the insulation they had put up there years ago, he said he'd send a crew out to re-blow in some more insulation....well, I never heard back from them. My parent ordered windows from this company which were supposed to have a lifetime warranty. The seal is now broken in multiple windows and it is freezing in my parents house. Kratz is now saying that the company they used for the windows went out of business and there is nothing they can do. That is horrible business policy and I'm encouraging my parents to contact the Better Business Bureau about their practices. What type of company conducts business like this? I had a new storm door installed by two men from Kraz Construction. Their names were J R and Devin. What a couple of very nice young men. I have 35 people working for me and I pray that they represent my Company as well as these two me represent Kraz. They were both very polite and did one heck of a job removing the old door and installing the need one. Even though it was not a very messy job, they did an outstanding job cleaning up, which is almost unheard of with most contractors. I will definitely be calling them back for any work in the future. We arranged for Kraz Construction to do some exterior repairs in May 2021. We paid down $1,115. which was approximately 25%. We discovered that some of the work we had hired them to do was covered under an insurance claim and changed the scope of the work down in Sept 2021. I contacted the person we dealt with and was referred to another gentleman who allegedly does the scheduling. This happened in Oct 2021. I spoke with the gentleman and was told that he would get back to me with a date that that could schedule the work. We have never been contacted since. Due to surgeries and a broken leg, wintering in Florida, etc, this was not high on my priority list. I have found the cancelled check and realized that we gave this to the company on May 18, 2021. I called today and on the first call the phone rang and rang and then disconnected. On the 2nd call a young lady took my name and number and said someone would call me. I am no longer confident that this company can do the work for us at the price quoted due to price increases. Also, the young lady mentioned a shortage of workers. This does not bode well for our situation. How long will it take to get our money refunded. Will the company be cooperative or will this be letters to the Better Business Bureau and then small claims court. Time will tell. read more

NEVER get an estimate from these people. My god, I have never been so annoyed and insulted by an estimate in my life. Don't let these people in your home when they come door to door - and they probably will. I got three estimates for some sliding windows in my basement. Kraz's quote was DOUBLE what the other two quotes were, and they were still some generic vinyl window that they were pushing. Okay, fine, no harm done, but the way these JERKS behaved in my home was complete insanity. The estimators were a tag team of two loud old guys who kept going back and forth like a used car salesman about how great they were, and how everyone chooses Kraz, and how all other contractors are awful, etc. etc. etc. This went on for a half hour, during which I told them I wasn't going with their bid and they needed to leave. They didn't. Finally when I walked to the door and opened it and said "get out of my house", they did, making little snippy jokes along the way. After this, they stood in the middle of my street for FORTY minutes, loudly talking about how they totally landed the sale and they suckered me in. Really, they were talking that loudly that I could hear them from my house. I understand it's not easy to be a door to door salesman, but when you 1) treat your potential customers like they're stupid, and 2) TALK ABOUT HOW THEY'RE STUPID, you have zero chance of landing a sale. He negotiated pricing down then added $150 for a permit that wasn't pulled. They hung up on me when I complained about their offer to cover only half of the repair costs and left me to pay all the costs. Look elsewhere for your repair needs. Would give zero stars if I could. Ordered 6 inch gutters from them 11 weeks ago- was told at the time by the salesperson that they do not subcontract the work. Followed up last Wednesday to see when they would be installed- I had to call them. Was told that the installer would be out on Friday at 830am- he didn't show up. Waited over an hour and called, the office had no clue where he was but put me on hold then told me that his truck broke down and he wouldn't be out today. They were supposed to call me back to let me know when they could reschedule the install. Again, after waiting over 1.5 hours I had to call them. They said they would have to check with their installer to see his schedule- I questioned them if it's not subcontracted work why didn't they know the installers schedule? Something wasn't making sense. Again they made up some excuse and told me they didn't subcontract. The guy will come out on Monday. I wake up Saturday morning to some older guy in an unmarked truck poking around my house- tells me he's installing my gutters on Monday and he's figuring out what he needs for the job. He also informs me Dave (the GM) knew his truck was broken down because it had been for a month! He's a subcontractor who owns his own company and he tells me the work could have already been completed and for cheaper had I contacted him directly! I'm fuming at this point- extremely unprofessional. Guy shows back up Monday morning at 8am, informs me his crew will be at my house soon but they won't have time to finish the whole job before it rains in the afternoon. They can get my gutters down but can't put the new ones up-we're supposed to have severe storms in the afternoon. This is where I lose it! I call Kraz to speak with Dave who is as rude as rude can be- I hate when men in certain industries belittle women. "Well ma'am you have to take the old gutters down before you can put up new ones" and " you should just be happy we've answered your calls when you've called some businesses aren't doing that". He has zero explanation for the lies about subcontracting but claims EVERYONE does it! Ummmm no- you answer the phone in order to get business and if subcontracting is so common why lie about it Dave!! We wanted to use a local company but this company is awful and Dave is the most unprofessional GM I have ever dealt with. Funny thing is we met with another company and decided to give them about 40k worth of work in addition to the gutters-hardie siding and soffits. Kraz and Dave's loss! ***UPDATE 7/14/16*** Once management was notified of my situation corrective actions were taken. First I got a call from the general manager and was apologized to. It was understood that my situation had gotten out of hand. Next, to make sure that the job would be done correctly, he have me his direct number and was getting progress updates from the general manager himself. There was no bitterness or any argument when speaking with the general manager. He was concerned about the situation and determined to do what he could to fix the problem. Even though I was upset about the situation, I was glad to see that kraz actually does care about the customer. It seems that we may have just gotten off on the wrong foot. I appreciate that they took the time to kindly fix this problem rather than just push it under the rug. 7/11/16 We simply needed the glass in an old window replaced. this should have taken roughly an hour (I worked construction before and have seen how quickly it is done). After we made the appointment the sales rep was very pushy and uncomfortable. After we went through with the appointment, later that week someone came later that week to measure the window and put the glass order in. He said it would take two weeks for the glass to come in. when the glass came in we made the installation appointment and two guys came to put it in. Apparently the glass was too big and didn't fit. So another two week wait on glass and "it broke on the way from the vendor, but we need to pay the rest of the the amount". I said we wouldn't pay till it's done. Again another reorder... two weeks later we get a call that the glass didn't come in. A week after that, the glass finally came in. Again, we made another installation appointment and the guy came and put the glass in. he put the shims in incorrectly and there were gaps in the corners. After I called and emailed pics I got a call back a few days later and they asked for their payment, again I said no till the window is done. Another appointment was made to fix the first guys mess up. when he came, he fixed the window shims BUT cracked the glass in the process and needed to reorder another glass replacement. That was three weeks ago and I still haven't heard from them.... I will NEVER go with kraz again. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone! I'd hate to see how bad a bigger project would go with them. Got up early today to prepare for our scheduled insulation install only to receive a call, 15 minutes before workers were suppose to arrive, saying that both crew members have called off and the job will not be done today. Very disappointed and inconvenienced. My husband had rearranged his very hectic schedule to be home today while works were suppose to be inside our home. Had my house resided by Kraz Construction some years ago. Had pieces fall off from time to time over the years. I was able to do most of the repairs myself, just nailing the pieces back up. Now some of the fascia has fallen off and is high on the roof line so I can't get to it. I called Kraz to see if they would come out and do the repair. They said that they would get back to me when they can schedule a repair man that was not afraid of heights. Never heard from them again. This is the second time this has happened. Over four years, Kraz has been at our home three times. We've spread out the cost of replacing all of our windows and timed the installs around the other renovation work I've done. I want to preface the rest of this review with the following: 1. I grew up in a construction family and I used to build and renovate houses for a living. I'm the homeowner bad contractors hate dealing with because I not only know how it's supposed to be done, but chances are I've done it myself in the past. I don't care for sales pitches. 2. My wife loves to barter. She handled all of the money talk and I did my math thing when they spitballed numbers. Furthermore, she is not above walking away from a deal the instant a salesperson disrespects her. Kraz's salespeople are persistent. I have not had negative interactions with any of them at our home. I can empathize with some of the other reviewers being upset and using words like "pushy", but we haven't seen that. Product. As I said, I used to build houses. I've installed numerous wood and vinyl windows - some premium and some VERY cheap. It's very easy to tell the difference. We bought their high end vinyl windows and they are high quality products, and you can't beat the transferable warranty and lifetime glass breakage replacement. I researched the windows they used and they are a premium vinyl window with lots of great reviews. Four years in and ours are still working great. Installs. We've had 15+ windows and an aluminum brick moulding cap installed on our garage door over three visits in four years. Two man crew each time, and they have been professional, courteous, and respectful everytime. Rob was here all three times and has impressed me every single time. He's got a great attitude, works hard, and takes pride in his work. I have told him numerous times I could install the windows but I'd never be able to match his aluminum braking skills. Rob has had different guys out with him each time and they've all been great as well. I can't speak for others, but we're very happy with Kraz Construction. read more

We got a flier for them and decided to schedule a FREE ESTIMATE which is what they said it was. The person called and said they would be late which ok understandable I guess but upon further investigating I found this to be a very common mention in other reviews. They always call and say they will be late and then give some sob story about helping an elderly couple swindled by another company. The person who came out was a great talker, really and truly. Tried to sell himself really well and make it seem like we were going to get this amazing discount. The initial PRICE was ASTRONOMICAL. Almost laughable. There is no way it was that much to begin with. But that's how they get you. Then he started applying all these amazing discounts and started going lower and lower but even the final price was too high. We were quoted lower for BETTER quality material even though the sales guy went on and on about how his was the best. Also bad mouthed many companies and had a book showing how bad they were. What kind of respectable company does that?? And we mentioned a company we had received a quote from and how IRONIC that exact company was the one that this "poor elderly couple got scammed by and we just fixed their whole siding" and they were the reason he was late to our appointment. Out of ALL the companies. That should have been a red flag. But like I said, they sold themselves well. However a warning: your FREE ESTIMATE meeting is not free. It is a gimmick and a lie to get you to sign a contract right then and there or otherwise they say they will leave and offer this discount to another family. What happened to that FREE ESTIMATE? So pushy. And then when we said the price was too much and we were going to be going somewhere else, the guy calls the OWNER and suddenly he can lower it to another company's bid. There is no way siding costs nearly $40,000 originally BEFORE all these "discounts". BEWARE! read more

This is the email sent To Kraz Construction - I was visited by your salesman today. Disappointing and pushy sales pitch that pushed me on the Edge! I had to push your salesman out of my house. Literally. I was visited twice by Kraz salesmen. In the Spring of 2017 and in November 2017. First time the price for some block windows seemed excessive. I did not hire you. Second time, in November 2, 2017 one guy knocked on door. Set up a 4 PM appointment on the 3rd and promised somebody will call me before the 4 PM appointment to tell me if Kraz can do a better price than in the Spring. No call was received. The salesman showed up 20 min late. Not the end of the world. I decided to let him in my house and asked him if he has a better offer. He wanted more details so I agreed to go a little bit over the deal. He even took few measurements. While he was calculating he was coming up with a higher price than the first time. After the first 5 introductory minutes I told him I have an important call and that I can give him 10 -15 min to be able to provide a number. I wasn't interested for an entire speech. I stated the fact I was not interested in a full speech. After 20 -25 minutes, not 10, he had a price. I stated I will think and that he can call me on Monday. At that point I had few more minutes to take care of my personal business and make that personal call. By the way, I missed that person and I suffered losses because of Kraz! I am upset! Politely, I invited the salesman to finish his paperwork in the car. He stated he has to finish the paperwork in the house and that he has to call his boss. He called Luis. I grabbed his phone and told Luis his salesman has to leave the premises immediately. It looks the Kraz policy is to TAKE people time without PEOPLE consent after the potential customers tell them to leave the house. I am a guy in shape, I was in the Army , but I cannot stop wondering how these pitches work on older people or people that cannot do much to protest. How do you train your sales people ? How do you train your workers ? One has to wonder... This is a clear sign of disrespect. This is ABUSE! On my property, I call the shots, not Kraz salesman or the Kraz rules you teach your people to use when pitching deals. When the OWNER tells you the meeting is over, please advise your Salesmen to GET OUT! Otherwise may be intended consequences. Today I used the Email not something else. Think about your salesman safety. When respect is NOT shown at the sales pitch stage, respect for the Owner of the house which made time for your business, one has to wonder how much respect KRAZ has for one's property and the quality of the work. I had a patio door installed and the installer, Craig, did a nice job. He was very friendly and professional. The door looks great and didn't end up being much more than a door from a big box store that we'd have to install ourselves. Plus, it was made for a custom fit.
