We researched multiple deck and patio companies and compared their reviews, ratings, pricing, reputation, years of service, and years of experience of their personnel; we met w/ several finalists and, when we met Gina of Innovative Decks, we knew we had found the very best company for us. Gina spent a lot of time getting to know us, and what our dream deck replacement would be. She surveyed the entire backyard, measured the old deck, provided us with a variety of alternatives, talked us through materials, price range, and so on -- she also took the time to get to know us personally, and when she left we felt very confident we had made a very good choice. Gina made sure we got the plat survey of our yard; she and Judy and her staff made sure we properly applied for the building permit; Judy kept us appraised of every aspect of the process and answered our questions or had Gina or Kenny stop by to handle any issues; and Gina even went personally to our Village Hall twice in one day to make sure everything was perfect! Once the work began we were again very impressed. After spending $23.000.00 for a deck several years ago we started having problems with the lighting. I've made many calls during the last few years but no one has come out. Kenny and Gina assured my wife and me that they would make repairs as needed. They both lied. And hope you never have to speak to Judy. DO NOT HIRE THEM. And read the other negative reviews. Extremely disappointed with our experience with Certified Fence & Deck. We paid top dollar prices…read moreexpecting quality craftsmanship and materials, but unfortunately, the work did not come close to matching the price. The gate door and posts are leaning and uneven, and the gate that was installed was such poor quality that we ultimately had to pay another $500 to have someone else install a proper gate. That is an additional expense we should never have had to pay after already paying a premium price for a fence. The fence was also only given one coat of paint, and it is very noticeable. A second coat should have been applied, and the installer knew that. The finish is uneven and does not look like the quality of work you would expect from a company charging what they charge. We also discovered that the wrong type of nails were used, which is extremely concerning because it can affect the longevity of the fence. When you're paying top dollar for a fence, you shouldn't have to worry about whether the proper materials and installation methods were used. The biggest issue, however, is the warranty. They claim to stand behind their work, but when we brought these problems to their attention, they did not stand behind the work the way we expected them to. At this point, we've paid premium pricing, been left with poor craftsmanship and questionable material choices, and then had to spend another $500 out of pocket to correct part of the work. If you were considering them, DON'T! I strongly recommend asking exactly what materials will be used, and getting very clear information about what their warranty actually covers. For the amount of money we paid, we expected a fence that was straight, level, properly constructed, properly painted, and built to last. That is not what we received. I'd give them zero stars if I could
