He was professional, yet warm and I was immediately comfortable. Care quality is overlooked in many cases where the practitioners are good but the practice administrative, customer service, and back office operations create a poor overall service. Not every Saturday but once a month is good enough for a service that will be especially useful once travel starts back up again. Pre-appointment paperwork was intense - seven pages that they wanted emailed back with a proper medical history and background. Plus the usual insurance information and such. We arrived to the appointment on time. The waiting room is spacious enough with enough room to distance from any other patients. Hand sanitizer available, masks required, a plexiglass partition at the receptionist and a temperature check. Excellent. My cleaning was excellent. Ashley was gentle and thorough, getting all the usual spots and ensuring my mouth is online and ready for another six months of reviewing restaurants on Yelp. I was also pleased with the dentist's review of Ashley's work and the dental exam she performed. Office staff were great, providing four separate options for replacing a chipped tooth in the back. I'm not sure I'm ready to do that now, but I'm glad to know what it's going to be when it's time. Overall, an excellent experience and I'm glad to have found a new dentist! When we had our visit for this office they informed me my son needed a crown 10 fillings plus more extensive dental work and after spending less than 5 minutes with him they heavily suggested putting him under anesthesia to do all the work at once because he was wiggly. I was shocked when they told me this, the other office was willing to do both filling with laughing gas. I took all the information they gave me to my son's previous dentist and reached out to another pediatric dentist to get a second and third opinion. The majority of the work this office was claiming my son needed was completely unnecessary and I personally believe just a bid to drive up the price so they could wring my insurance for the every penny possible. It's absolutely unacceptable that they suggested so casually putting my son under anesthesia, which is extremely serious and comes along with numerous risks for the child and not something that should be done lightly, and shocker they don't take insurance for anesthesia so we would have to pay all of that money up front at once, which has never been my experience at any other office.

Recently my husband had an old filling fall out. After going to our dentist, he was referred to…read moreBeam Endodontic for a root canal. When he called to schedule his appointment, he told them our insurance. They said they accepted our insurance and asked him if he planned to put the charges on a credit card. When he said yes, they quickly pounced on the opportunity to get him scheduled within a day. Never did they disclose that they were not a network provider for our insurance and would be charging us 3x more than what we would have paid at a network provider. My husband assumed that he was being referred to a network provider by our dentist office, since they participate. When he went in for his consultation, there was no signage anywhere in their office to let patients know they were not a network provider nor was he told. Absolutely no transparency. To top off the deception, when he was paying with his credit card, he was told that because we had Dental Plus, he would get "a lot of it" back after insurance paid. All the more reason for us to believe we were dealing with a practice that would honor the maximum allowable amount insurance would pay. It wasn't until after Bean contacted my husband to say he was getting a whole $58 of the $1,111 he was charged back that we realized our mistake. Yeah, that was "a lot" of it back. The insurance company did send us a check for $107 toward the bill. Still- $165 is not much of a bill that was over $1000. I went to their office to explain how deceptive their billing had been and to see if they would do anything to help us out. I was basically told that you get what you pay for because they have such exceptional service. Like no other network dentist in Rock Hill could have performed a root canal like they did. The smirk the office manager gave me when I explained that it would have been nice to have the opportunity to find a network dentist was priceless. They really think they are better than everyone else. Well, my husband might disagree. During his root canal, he was told there was a hairline fracture in the tooth. This was after drilling started. He was asked if he would rather have it extracted. When he said yes, the doctor told the assistant to tell the front desk to schedule him for another day. This was AFTER drilling started. My husband didn't want to be sent home and suffer until they could reschedule him for the extraction so he went ahead with the root canal. How is that for service? So, I write this lengthy review so that others won't be taken advantage of during a time when they are suffering from tooth pain. Be sure to ask about network participation. We learned a VERY expensive lesson that offices like this are only out to make money- at least Beam appears that way because they refuse to work with us and honor the price our insurance allows.
