I personally had a pleasant experience (root canal) with Dr. Short and his office staff. They all were very kind and professional. I still have more work that needs to be done & will definitely be a repeat customer as well as refer him out. Additionally, this is the first time I've had a root canal and it didn't confine me to the bed after the procedure. Dr Short and his team are great. They were able to diagnosis my issue and fixed an incomplete root canal performed several years ago by a endodontist in KS. They explained the issue, shared a plan of action to resolve the issue with the ultimate care. I'd highly recommend Dr Short to my family and friends. read more

If we could give 10 stars we would. We were referred to Dr. Short's office by our kids' dentist. Our 11-year-old daughter needed a root canal. We were quite nervous about her having the procedure, however, once we spoke with Dr. Short our fears quickly diminished. He did an amazing job of explaining the entire process to my husband and I. He also narrated the entire procedure which made it less scary for our daughter. After the successful root canal, we elected to have internal bleaching to lighten her injured tooth and that process went great as well. Overall, Dr. Short and his staff are amazing and informative. We are so fortunate that he was referred to us because we are beyond pleased with the outcome and as a bonus, our child never complained about any pain. Extremely unprofessional dentist and office. I accidentally went here because my insurance company had him on the list and I assumed he was recommended by my dentist. This office is outdated and the staff are young and inexperienced. The registration forms are outdated as is much of the technology and communication in the office. He ran 50 minutes late for the appointment with no apology. A patient came out in pain/distress and was given pain meds in front of everyone. Dr. Smart spent more time talking about his "credentials" and accomplishments rather than reading the patient's history and obtaining appropriate medical records to properly assess the patient's history. He was hostile and rude. He seems to live in his past glory speaking of his past accomplishments. The office is run-down and his bedside manner is extremely poor. There is something wrong with this office and dentist. When I spoke to my dental office, they said that no one refers to him. I should have followed the referral list from my dental office and not from my insurance company. He seems to have little compassion and is more concerned about payment and his reputation. Very paranoid dentist insisting that he had to do things his way so no one would report him to the dental board. He seemed preoccupied with not losing his license. Very odd behavior. So glad I left midway through the appointment as I felt I couldn't trust his bedside manner. read more

Dr. Short and his staff provided awesome customer service. I received prompt service from the time I walked in the door. After completing paperwork, I waited no more than 10 minutes. Dr. Short came right in the room and went over what will take place. During the procedure I had no pain whatsoever. Dr. Short and his staff are amazing and very happy with the service received. My story starts with a tooth ache. After a few dentist appointments, several x-rays and even a strong prescription of antibiotics...I found myself making an appointment with Apex Endodontics to schedule my first root canal. You can image my fear...since not only have I heard horror stories about root canals, but I also have a very low tolerance for pain. Needless to say...I called and was able to a make an appointment for the following day. After making the appointment, the receptionist told me she would contact my insurance and find out how much my bill would be whether I had just a consult or went ahead and got the root canal on my first visit. I appreciated this since usually you're not aware of fees until you're at the doctor's office. She called me back with the information before the end of the day. Now that's fast service! She was also very helpful with answering questions I had about what to expect with my visit. So...my story now takes us to the actual day of my procedure. Again, I was VERY nervous, but after my boyfriend practically pushed me into the dental chair, I was ok. The hygienist took a few x-rays, asked me about my discomfort then within minutes Dr. Short was sitting next to me. He then did a few tests on my tooth and went over my x-rays with me. He let me ask all the questions I had and after that we decided to move forward with the root canal. The next 45 minutes consisted of laughing gas, a lot of shots (after getting mostly numb beforehand), some drilling, some filing and WHAM BAM...we were done. Ok, I left out a few things, but Dr. Short talked me through the whole thing making sure I was comfortable and understood what he was doing. It wasn't a day at the beach (I mean, c'mon...it's still dental surgery), but it was a lot better and less painful than I thought it would be. The next day...Dr. Short personally called me to follow up on how I was feeling. I appreciate that level of customer service. Overall...if you need a root canal, then you NEED to get it done here. I promise you'll be thanking me afterwards. read more

I was referred to Dr. Short by my dentist, because the roots of my back tooth were crazy and he didn't feel comfortable performing the root canal himself. After the pain I had been enduring the previous couple of weeks, I couldn't care less who performed the procedure. However, I was pleasantly surprised by Dr. Short and his staffs professionalism and patients to deal with my cheap, squeamish, hard to numb, sensitive self. Being that it's pretty hard to numb my gums, after what seemed like 99 shots later, the process began and it was quick easy and virtually pain free. The procedure was done on yesterday and after the pain medication they gave me before I exited, I have yet to take anything else and I feel fine. After I left the doctor's office I went back to work and within a few hours the numbness was gone and it was just another day at the office from that point forward. I would definitely recommend Apex Endodontics if you are in need of a root canal. read more

I have had two dental issues in the past year that required the expertise of an endodontist. My primary dentist referred me to Dr Short on both occasions. This type of treatment always comes with a dose of fear. Let me tell you, Dr Enrico Short is wonderful! He is calming, professional but personal and really cared about me. In both situations his treatment completely resolved my dental issue. Also, he personally called me both times the day after my treatments. Clearly he cares about his patients and wants us to have great outcomes. Dr Short is my first choice for any advanced dental care and I recommend him with five stars. read more

Dr. Short is definitely passionate about root canals and he is a very nice doctor. Something doesn't seem right about his front office staff and how they handle his business, but you can feel that out for yourself if you choose this practice. Nevertheless, based on my experience, if you need a root canal, I would recommend a more seasoned Endodontist who has handled cases across the spectrum, so that in the event of an unlikely complication, they'll know what to do. Medicine is not a perfect science, which is why we must ALWAYS be on the offense. I think Dr. Short forgot that. read more

First I just want to say how grateful I am that they were able to fit me in to what seemed like a very busy schedule. I was in so much pain it was unbearable. The staff here was very pleasant and professional from entrance to exit. Dr. Short, an expert in his field with the credentials to prove it, explained the entire process and made sure that I understood exactly what needed to happen and why. I was given the option to try to save my tooth or have it extracted by my dentist. I mention this because obviously they make their money doing the root canal but I felt no pressure from anyone in regards to how I wanted to proceed. I chose the root canal and it went just as it was explained to me. I am happy that I did choose the root canal. (How many times does one say that in his life). Needless to say, I am writing this review to help the next person that may be in my situation and you want the best team handling your care. read more

I had an EXCELLENT experience in this office. I was recently seen for a root canal procedure and Dr. Short was very thorough in informing me on what was going to take place next during the procedure. The root canal procedure was painless. I didn't even feel the needle when he administered the anestesia. It took about 35-40 minutes. Quick painless and thorough. I went to Dr. Short with an abscess resulting from a prior root canal from another dentist that required a rework from an Endodontist. Dr. Short was referred by my dentist and is board certified, both indications that he is very good. He was able to save my tooth and it's been about 6 months since the end of the multi-step treatment and I am doing great. I was very impressed that he took the time and care to do all of the work with hand files which he explained was a safer approach. I am convinced that Dr. Short is both an expert and dedicated to doing his best for the patient. He will be my first choice should I need another root canal in the future. read more

Excellent endodontist!!! My primary dentist referred me to Dr. Short. I had three problem teeth (two that my primary dentist found with infections and one that Dr. Short found) -- my primary dentist found the two with former root canals, and Dr. Short noticed an adjacent tooth with a crown that had a large cavity underneath -- my primary dentist had noted something going on with this tooth, but had not told me anything was wrong. Dr. Short found hidden roots in the two that had already had root canals and retreated them, saving both teeth. He also performed a root canal on the tooth with the large cavity also saving that tooth. He is absolutely great. His staff was able to work me in quickly even calling me for an earlier appointment when one was cancelled. This was important to me as I had to have the teeth treated prior to major surgery scheduled for the same month. Dr. Short also saw me within five minutes of my appointment! Superb experience if you have to go to an endodontist -- Dr. Short even called me to follow up after each visit to ensure I was OK. read more

I was referred to Apex by my dentist, and was horrified by the service I received from the office staff and Dr. Short. Having two insurances to cover dental work, I knew something was wrong when the receptionist told me that I needed to pay for my services upfront and be reimburse after 14 days. This sounded weird, but because I was in so much pain.. I chose to pay for the procedure and handle the insurance afterwards. Each time I called the office to schedule my next appointment or to follow up about my insurance, I was met with nasty remarks from the receptionists (who screened my phone calls by the way). After deciding to file a grievance with my insurance company, I received a phone call from Dr. Short himself who first asked what my concerns were, and then before I could answer... told me that I signed documents that would keep he and his staff safe from any grievances/complaints that could be filed with my insurance company. This was crazy to me simply because I had not mentioned filing a grievance to Dr. Short or his staff at all. (This tells me this must not be his first time dealing with something like this). I remained silent and let Dr. Short continue to yell at me (yes, he was yelling at me over the phone). When he was finished, I attempted to respond but was unable to because Dr. Short hung up after he was done yelling. Dr. Short was rude and inconsiderate just like his office staff.
