We had the whole place to ourselves for our holiday celebration! We bowled and ate good food and played lots of games. The cost was pretty reasonable for our size group! The coconut shrimp was to die for. Nice size shrimp! Delicious! The pizza was pretty good. We went initially for the escape rooms, but both were out of order (which was a blow because I told my son that's why we were going). We then decided to play games, and 3 of the 4 kiosks for adding credits to the playing cards were out of order. Then we start playing games, only to find that around 1/3 to 1/2 were out of order. At what point do you close until you get some of this repaired? I couldn't believe that this place was even open with the amount of games and machines that were out of order. I almost wanted to ask the employees, half jokingly, " isn't this embarrassing?" And we go here somewhat often, maybe every two or three months, and some of the games have been out of order for months and months, including the escape rooms. With Dave & Buster's literally down the corridor, you would think they would make these repairs a priority. I don't ever write reviews, I was just dumbfounded. read more

Very disappointed I purchased the 30 minutes of game play. Went to use in on the ticket claw machine ( not knowing u can't do that) when I got the " insufficient funds " notice I went to the desk to talk to someone. I was told to go to the bowling desk and talk to them. I did the person the was extremely rude and argumentative. He kept insisting I had use up my point even after I explained my situation over and over showed him my receipt from a few minutes earlier ( 12:00pm). He insisted the points ran out at 12:00. Finally a manager came over I explained the same thing to him. That is when he asked what machine I had tried to use. When I told him it was a claw machine he told me u can't use the claw machines with the 30 minutes of gameplay. All staff should have knowledge of what each " card purchase" is so things like this do happen. read more

Such a good time! Been here twice now and it was a great experience both times. Most recently went bowling and had dinner here and the food was surprisingly good for an arcade bowling alley and it was fairly priced! (Hard to come by these days) Bowling was fun as well, my boyfriend and I played for half an hour and completed almost 2 full games in that time. Previously we came here and played pool, and did bumper cars - also a lot of fun! Apex has pretty much anything you can think of... with laser tag, an arcade, escape rooms, bowling, bumper cars, and pool tables there is something for everyone to enjoy. I definitely recommend apex for an afternoon of family fun or a date night. read more

Horrible experience. We got the birthday bowling package for my friend's birthday. We booked for 10 people and paid for 10 people, even though only 8 of us actually showed up. They have us a $100 play pass instead of refunding us the money FOR PEOPLE WHO WERE NOT THERE. We paid for open bar and full bar service at the bowling lane, as well as for entrees . They messd up the timing of our group, and we did not receive service for an hour and a half at least. People from our group resorted to getting drinks at the bar, despite us paying for the open bar. The manager, Tasha, came over, apologized and assured us that open bar should have been included and gave us the $100 play pass to compensate for the extra two people they charged us for. They took the card information and names of people who spent money at the bar for refunds. So we ordered drinks since we were assured that we had the open bar. At the end of our time at the lanes, Tasha changed her tune and said we have to still pay our bar tab, and the only thing they could do was give us a 20% discount. The drinks were supposed to be paid for already, and that is what was communicated to us. We didn't care about the money, but we were lied to and it really ruined the entire experience. When asked about the card information they kept for refunds they said that they only kept that to let their sales department know how much our party spent outside the package. On top not receiving service we paid for for more than an hour, and being charged for drinks we had already paid for, our two bowling lanes got jammed and did not work for a good 30-40 minutes. They gave us some complimentary arcade cards as ana apology, half of them were duds that did not work. Tasha, the manager at the time, either intentionally misled us, or did not communicate to us effectively, or most likely has no idea what she is doing. read more

This is the 2nd time with a reservation and the "attentiveness" for making a reservation is beyond disgusting! 5:30 reservation.... we get the pizza, almost immediately , which is mediocre.... but no attendant visited us for almost 1 hour and 10 minutes after our reservation to take additional drink/food order.Myself and 2 other family members talked to a manager and we got told there "We are short staffed and someone would be right with us", to which never happened! I finally caught the manager again and said, you need to listen to me... I don't want to hear it's only one bartender... I would wait patiently for a drink BUT I can't get anyone to come over to take our drink and food order at all! We need someone to come and at least take an order and we will wait patiently! The offer.... 15 minutes extra of bowling time.... we did supply the waitress with a generous tip at the end but that place needs a better time management readjustment. read more

Just went here for the first time with my family of 4. My two kids, 8 and 10, had a really fun time. I actually left them there with my husband while I went out to do some shopping. They had ordered some food before they went into laser tag. The laser tag room is huge (that's my what oldest reported to me). My kids aren't picky eaters so they were able to easily find something to eat. My husband ordered the chicken bacon ranch and he said it was pretty good. When I came back I had ordered a burger but no egg. It was cooked to my liking and came out in a timely manner. I think out server was new but she did great. Some gentleman with a beard came over and asked if we needed anything but I said our server had taken care of us. He suggested next time we try out the bowling. The best part of Apex Entertainment is the arcade. Its a great place to bring your kids and have a good time. We ordered food: loaded tater tots, cheese burger with fries and fried dough balls. It all tasted good, but it took a long time to get our order. Our waitress was nice and friendly, but she did not really check in on us, and it took her quite sometime to swing around to give us our bill. Our table was also very wobbly, they really need to fix that. For a relatively new place, that should be addressed. read more

So Dave and Busters are closed until further notice, so we tried Apex Entertainment. This place is remarkably very modern and worth the money. The drinks are actually not watered down and decent. Our waiter Jeffery was amazing and very nice. The food wasn't all that, the mozzarella sticks were ok, but the chicken was very dry. Bowling was good; you can play as many games for 2 hours, which we did 8 games between us. Now the arcade place 100% was the best nothing bad to really say about this place. We decided to try Apex in Albany NY. Well right from the start it was awful. Asked for a Vodka & tonic . No tonic . Ok fine . picked something else. which I would be safe to say it's water in the Tito's bottle but whatever. Go to pay, nope can't take cash . So fine again, pay with my card. Go to get signed in. Nope you are 5 minutes early (needless to say no one was on the lane we would be getting) OK fine again. We ask for a refund for bowling shoes for a few people that couldn't make it. Nope. we will only give you an Apex credit voucher card. We start bowling, the little Kiosk says order drinks and food through the kiosk , great ,how convenient . Nope. doesn't work . Find an employee.They will send a server over.Tick Tock , 20-30 mins later she arrives. Now mind you this was not very busy I swear. we order a high noon, guess? Nope don't have it. Ok again . Order drinks and a pizza And some famous Hot pretzel that's supposed to be enormous, but guess again, you got it , no pretzels .About 30 mins the drinks come. Waiting on pizza. Waiting. Bowling ends , lights are flipped on and everyone is told time to leave. Ummm still no pizza. Manager comes out says order never was put in. Surprise ,Surprise, not getting the pizza either.Asked for the refund to my card. He says let me see what I can do? What? There's no way I'm taking an Apex voucher. Hell No!! Luckily the card was refunded. No need for a throw down.(just kidding).Oh and to be clear it cost 50$ a couple to bowl 2 games. Seems like Apex is putting in bare minimum effort to keep supplies stocked and customers happy, leaving the poor employees to look like fools. read more

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Half of the games weren't working, the employee's were rude, and the prize redemption area was CLOSED for restocking. Restocking should happen AFTER closing, not when the employee working it wants to get his job done early so he can leave work faster! When asking the employee working the prize redemption area if there was anywhere to redeem the tickets earned he just kept saying "No this area is closed" as if this was the only phrase he knew. I will NEVER be going back to this Dave N Buster's knock off and will be telling anyone who mentions this place the same. Never have I been to a place with such abysmal customer service! read more

This is a new place for us. We were thinking Dave & Busters & 5 Wits so we decided to try Apex. The Escape Room for $9 cheaper that 5 Wits and Apex had some cool games like the Hologate and Bumper Cars. I can with my 10 and 13 year olds and we all loved the Hologate ($8/per person for about 5 minutes) It was cool! We enjoyed it (That game was $24 Total for me and my 2 kids) Went to the bumper cars next ($5/ per person- 15 Total for us) and it was fun, but it is small and the time on it was about 5 minutes but went really fast. So just an OK value. The worst part my far was the escape room. My 2 kids and I were really looking forward to doing this and wasn't sure exactly what to expect. We get there and the guy has to run back to get a tablet. We go in and he explains the game quickly by telling us to use our cell phone because it was going to get very dark and to input codes into the ipad. He also said that alarm was really loud. After listening to it for 8 minutes, e comes in and tries to help us when we couldn't figure it out and then tells us that the letters for the program are out of order that's why it wouldn't turn off. Then we had to turn on the lights. They turned on for a second and then we had try try another clue to get them on the rest of the way. Needless to say we didn't really know what we were doing, it was definitely not for my 10 year old and it was all really quite frustrating. Then you add the cost of the escape ($20/ person= total $60) and it completely sucked. We all left feeling like we just wasted $100. Games run $1- $2 each too so this is quite expensive. I think you might get a better experience at Dave & Busters because you know what you are getting. I do not think any of us will ever do an escape room again!! read more

This establishment has poor management. Look up The Bus Stop Club for kids who have a sibling with a special need, long term disease/illness or a life threatening illness. They do groups for all ages for the siblings and tonight was planned for the teen group. This teen meeting event was set up over a month ago and canceled it last minute for a corporate event!!! Canceling right before the meeting leaving this group of teens disappointed for your big wigs and security at the door is disgraceful! Shame on you!! read more

So initially I was skeptical about coming here with the thoughts of "is this going to be a filled down version of Dave and Busters?" But it certainly delivered! Located in the old lucky strike location in Crossgates, this place is a great place for family fun! The bowling alley is actually probably the best highlight I found of the entire place! Offering two different game types. Both traditions and "candlestick". The later of the two I'm not that familiar with, but will definitely be checking out again once I return for another visit. Food here was great! Had a few selections at my jobs company Christmas party that was held here and I must say that I was impressed. One of my personal favorites that they had for an appetizer was the buffalo chicken dip. Perfect balance of melty cheese and creaminess to the kick of buffalo sauce flavor. I would have definitely snapped some photos of it, but hey it was a holiday party so ‍ next time. The atmosphere is definitely one of a fun relaxed arcade, tons a different games for everyone. From your first person shooter games like Halo or Tomb Raider; down to classic air hockey and ski ball. Didn't really venture to much into the "prize redemption" area. It from what I noticed it looked like they had a decent selection of things that you'd find at most any arcade. A few other highlights of here are the sports simulation games that range from soccer to golf and almost a wide array in between. Also in addition to they have 3 pool tables adjacent to the bar area. With multiple tables to sit at while your there. As well as a high top standing long length table as well. Also I should mention about the large laser tag arena they have as well. If your looking into having a few drinks while here just to have a fun time, they have a fully stocked bar with I believe it was 8 or 10 draft selections as well as a rather copious amount of craft beers not on tap. I was surprised that they had on tap one of my personal favorites "Sloop Juice Bomb IPA" If I had to claim one drawback from here; the "fun pass" card from what I noticed is only valid for 1 hour once you activated it; so it's kind of bummer, but if your really into playing a ton of games then no worries. Is it worth it? I'd definitely say YES! (No puns intended). But I'm certain I'll be coming back again with my wife. But also probably bring my nephew as well. read more

I have gone to this place several times and send lots of money to play the arcade games with my daughter and my grandson and my daughters friends usually it's good however i took just my daughter to go bowling Sunday night. First thing was we had to wait 1/2 hour for a lane. Then once we got a lane the server was not around so I had to go ask if we could get some service and the guy I spoke to said he would let the waiter know we wanted someone to come to our lane. we waited about 25 mins no one came! I saw another waiter I went and asked him if we could get some drinks at our lane he asked the lane number. I told him Lane 18 and it took a few minutes but finally we were able to order drinks! Then he asked was that all we wanted and I said for now and thought that he would be back to check on us and he did not come back at all. Then 2 people were next to us in lane 19 and instead of taking turns to bowl on at a time they were standing up in the land together. the lanes are not very big and when we were trying to bowl in our lane they were rude and calling me names and asking is why are we there? ( we were there first ) we tried to bowl around them it was not easy or fun then I went to guy at desk told him I was upset and that I wanted a refund of whatever time I had left because I refused to try to bowl around people that wee drinking and being rude. they gave me money on an Apex card and apologized and did not chargeme for our drinks but it was very uncool. read more

Best birthday party ever!! From the minute we walked in to literally the minute we left we encountered nothing but amazing and friendly staff, from the bartender to the party host, security, the event coordinator (I can't remember the title he provided ) the person at the prize counter and the person who greeted us behind the counter in front of the bowling lanes. Everyone was so friendly, accommodating, helpful and pleasant. We will be having all of my sons birthday parties here for the foreseeable future. Sarah, who helped me plan the party was also amazing. Just went to check out the escape rooms. We were able to buy tickets then and there on a Friday night. The person escorting us through the room was so much fun and really made our experience memorable! The room itself was a little complicated but the staff member kept coming in to give us hints. We went for a birthday party. Nineteen kids at $42 a pop. They double booked, were not organized, kids were not allowed to play laser tag during their allotted time, had to wait, the vests were not charged. The food was tasteless, we were ignored , the service was terrible. Rather than comp. The parents they gave out coupons. I'll never return to use them. It was an absolute zoo. This establishment is staffed by a bunch of Neanderthals, who do not understand the concept of work. After arriving for our reserved bowling session we had to wait 30 mins because they didn't believe us that we had a reservation. Then after waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes for food and drinks and having several orders turn out to be wrong, we found we were charged an extra 60$ worth of stuff we did not order. Trying to dispute this the manager before even asking what the situation was, she started being extremely rude to our group who was still being nice at this point despite all of their errors and their pathetic excuses for work. The Bowling lanes also broke every 20 minutes and took another 10 to be fixed before starting up again. Overall the staff were very unhelpful and only made us feel like a burden. Despite all of this we still agreed to pay and say whatever shit happens. And by doing so we got a nice escort out of the building by their fake little security guard because we didn't tell them to have a nice day back after they were continuously rude. Stop trying to blame the fact you can't simply write down and order on your customers, hold some accountability for your workers, and just try and treat people better. You're doing a job, if you hate it so much...quit. read more

My family and I first time going there was this past weekend. The games were fun but when it came down to bowling we seem to have the Only lane that wasn't working..no one seemed to do anything to fix the problem and because we pay for time during bowling we lost at least 20 minutes of play which bummed us out.It would have been nice to get comped for the time lost but all we got was a we will let someone know statement. My family and 10 of my daughters friends celebrated her birthday party here last weekend. I booked most of the information through text and email. It was convenient and accessible. 4 days before the party I had to change to a later time due to a conflict with a kid's sporting event and it was done with ease. This was my first time here as well as my guests. There were plenty of staff around who were helpful and seemed happy to be there. We were introduced to our party facilitator named Kia. She was amazing. She bonded with the girls instantly and had the whole party scheduled out. From the games to the bumper cars to laser tag my 11 twelve year old girls said it was the best party ever! Went here after dinner with the kids. They had a deal $2 for 30 minutes of play time per person. The atmosphere was nice, not noisy like some other arcade places. This part was good and would come back for this portion. The only reason for 3 stars is its $40 to rent a lane (not including shoe rental) per hour and the hour starts the minute you cash out at the registers. For the most part its a fun/good time. Kids get to play tons of game and for $50, it was worth it to me to see the smile on their faces. A few complaints: 1.) At least a dozen of the arcade games were not working. If you have 10% of the games not working, it should be 10% less fees. Also the card readers are made to make you wait X times before scanning again. If you're charging $25/hr, I should be able to play as many games as I can without having to stand there and take up more time with people behind me waiting to play next. That was annoying. 2.) Do NOT waste $ on the Escape Room. $20 per person ($60 for 3 of us) and it was a complete waste of money. #1 The teenager giving the instructions spoke so fast with "jargon" language that you needed a teenager to understand what she was saying. #2 There were no instructions posted, which there should be for the money. Upon expressing dissatisfaction, she did stick around and helped us through each step in the beginning. #3 Unfortunately though, she also called my niece/nephew a "pussy" when I joked to her about having anxiety with the last "puzzle". Not exactly professional, but when you have a 9yr. old ask you why the lady just called me a "pussy", that's hard to explain. This was at the Albany,NY location on Monday 2/21 around 2:30pm for the management team looking to take action. I get your job is pointless and so is your life most likely, but that's not an excuse to use foul language in front of children. You're lucky I was in a good mood, else I would have went to management immediately and asked for a refund and demanded you be fired from the job. I like to keep it positive with positive energy when I spend the limited amount of time I get to with my family. If I could give this place zero stars I would. Every single game we tried (minus 2) didn't work and took our game tokens, we would use the card it would flash green basically saying "transaction complete" and then would just not start. Luckily the staff is accommodating and kind and helped us every time but it was extremely annoying having to call someone over EVERY SINGLE TIME we tried to play a game. For the price I felt they should give you more time. Especially since it was not busy at all. We had some issues with our bowing lane but they did add 15 minutes to our time. we couldn't finish one game in the 1/2 hour time frame. They should charge be the game not time Just saying. I feel they are way over priced for what you get. For 4 of us I spent about $200 and didn't even get to do all the items. That's too much money for an average middle to low class family. Food was good, staff was friendly. Just need to lower your price points to bring in more families. Bowling was fun. Went candle pin bowling with a friend and had a a good time. Service was horrible. Slow weeknight but you'd think at least one of the 30 employees around would want to make some tips. No one came up to us at the alley. Went up to the bar three different times and waited for 5-7 minutes each time to watched everyone stand around talking at the service station. At one point I said "excuse me" and got a finger pointed at me telling me to wait. Was looking to get some food and drinks and wasn't even served in the hour we were there. And the arcade ate more than half our credits without letting us play the game. Just left the remaining credits and card on a table for a kid to find. Won't be back. read more

Just went to Apex in Crossgates mall. It started by waiting 25 mins just to get a bartender, waited another hr to then never get my meal because they "forgot." Then I asked for a beer bucket instead of food. And yet again they "forgot" to bring that out. Can you believe I still had to wait another 20 mins for the waitress to come back to the table, after I flagged her down so I could pay my bill. Please do me a favor and never go there.
