Chad the Foreman of our roofing crew was very kind and took the time to explain what was going to happen for the day. The roofers were very polite and professional. I hired Apex Exterior to replace my roof, gutters and fascia almost 6 years ago. They did not complete the job based on the contract they wrote, signed and were paid to do. As a result of their negligence I now have mold in my attic. I have given them an opportunity to correct this matter however have just heard their excuses and then nothing from them. Not only did they not do the job they were paid for but they didn't do it correctly at the beginning to avoid problems down the road. Oversell and hope you don't notice seems to be their motto unfortunately. Be careful because it may look and sound great but it may not be done right or what you overpaid for! read more

In August of 2021 the siding of our house was damaged from high winds. We went through numerous companies and they either never called us back, or it wasn't big enough a job that was worth the resources. A year went by and the damage from more high winds escalated. I eventually contacted 3 more companies to explain our situation and Apex called me back within the hour, setup a visit and had the job done within 2 weeks at a reasonable cost. Extremely poor customer service! Gary came out to give us a quote and spent about 45 minutes discussing options. He emailed us with a follow-up question and then... "ghosted" us. We attempted to contact him via email and by calling the office. We feared something happened to him, but were reassured he was fine and they would have him contact us. It did not happen. We called back to see if someone else could finish the estimate. The woman answering the phone seems shocked by what happened and assured us someone would call us back. We've never heard from them since. Glad to be going with another company. Looks like this has happened to other potential customers as well. Buyer beware!!! read more

Given the complexity of this roofing system, hiring a professional is crucial and APEX Exteriors delivered an exceptional result. With project management direction from Larry and crew leader Pedro, the APEX team put quality over speed of project completion. I am a tough customer to please and Larry an his crew took the time to insure the final project was completed to my 100% satisfaction. What unique about APEX Exteriors is that they have "Master of Unique Trades" and "Jack is All Trades". With my roofing project i has 5 unique trade: Sloped Roofer, Flat Roofers, Exterior Trim Carpenter, Metal Flasher, and Gutters. Each trade worked in concert with each other in complete unison. Apex Exteriors was initially very easy to work with. They came to my house after a hail storm in 2011 to ask to inspect my roof. They worked with us to get a claim through my insurance company. It was surprisingly easy and I had been happy with them until now. I did business with an extension of their office in Middleton WI. Fast forward to now - June 2018. During an inspection while trying to sell my house, the inspector found evidence of a long-time leak in a part of the attic that is unfinished. The buyers realtor arranged for an estimate. The estimating roofer was disappointed that the flashing around the chimney was not replaced and the bells around the vents were not replaced when when the roof was replaced. The estimating roofer said those items should have been replaced during a roofing replacement. But he said I should be able to get our roofing contractor to fix it under warranty if I had a 10 year warranty, but it might be too late if I had a 7 year warranty. So I checked my warranty - it's for only 1 year. Apex Exteriors only stands by their work for one year. Easy to do business with but crappy work. read more

After a rocky start with a salesman, Tony that is no longer there I can honestly say, OMG!!! In a good way this time. Yep, that's how I feel with the Highly Professional job that was just finished on my house. It was a long wait and in the beginning very frustrating. To be honest, I could of cared less when it was started. I think Mother Nature knew, since the weather wouldn't cooperate the last 2 months. Finally with a break from the rains, my house was started yesterday, Monday, May 2nd and completed today! That couldn't of happened without the talented craftsmen on the job. They completely removed the old cedar siding, wrapped the house, passed inspection, started and finished the front of the house with the new siding. WOW!!! Take a breath here. They had a goal and they completed it. Not rushed, but with conviction. The lead installer, Manuel, was exceptional in making sure all steps were done properly and I was satisfied every step of the way. He is extremely detailed oriented, very personable, and a true professional, as were the entire crew. He takes pride in his work and told me that he wants his work to be right, as if it was his own home. I sure can't leave out John Egelston, the Project Manager. He was polite to talk too, on time and made sure everything was scheduled for the day, to his high standards. He would meet with the crew, and explained what he wanted accomplished for the day. You could tell by watching the crew, they respected him not as just the boss, but as a person too. You didn't get the impression from John actions, that he felt superior to them, but equal. John's eye to little details, not thought of by the homeowner, was impressive. He went beyond doing "the job" as if he was working on his own house. What a refreshing attitude. Something that he has instilled in his men as well. It's easy to complain and point out the wrong, but it is also important to give praise when praise is due. Apex Exteriors has the professional ethics that one doesn't see much of these days. Where a person's word can be taken as a hand shake from the 50's. A true rarity. Mike and the team did a wonderful job with our home and I highly recommend them. We needed all new flashing on our windows, drip caps along the sides of our house, and siding repair from water damage. Mike came out a did a thorough review, made great recommendations and quoted us an extremely fair price for the amount of work involved. It turned out that Mike's recommendations were right in line with what my father (an architect) told me we needed done on our house, so I felt very confident with his professional opinion. Also, our house is over 100 years old, and I was so nervous that the repairs could detract from the decorative elements above our windows. If I could I would give them no stars. My deck contractor brought Apex in to check my flat roofs. Apex made a recommendation that was virtually identical to that of their competitor. Apex pointed out the fact that their roofing membrane was superior to other materials at the same cost. The sales/estimator (I forget his name) went out to his truck to calculate the price. He quoted us a bit over $24,000. When I told him to forget about the job, he asked me what price I had in mind. We dismissed Apex, as we had already received a quote from a top roofing contractor in Chicago for $5,000. This is clearly a case of a salesman trying to price up to what he perceived to be our ability to pay. Caveat Emptor!!! Strongly suggest staying away from this outfit. Oh, by the way....the competitor did a very good job with one crew that completed the job in a day and a half. read more

I contacted Apex to reroof my home and replace the gutters and downs. David Downs was the estimator and he did a great job going over what to expect and making recommendations on my flat section of roof. The terrible rain this year delayed the work but once they got me scheduled, the work proceeded as anticipated. When the work was completed, there was one small issue with the gutter extenders. I contacted them and the issue was resolved right away. The roof and gutters look great. The workers were done in a day and a half and they did a great job of cleaning up afterwards. Tony, from Apex came out to do an estimate on my loose fascia issue and a gutter issue I had. He told me her was going to email me an estimate. After 3 days, I called the office to find out where my estimate was. When I talked to the office, they stated that they talked with Tony and that I would get my estimate by the next day. I never received my estimate. And, yes, I checked my junk email box. They never bothered to give me an estimate or to acknowledge that I existed. So much for customer service. I contacted Apex Exteriors on Monday Jan. 3, 2011 and spoke with Irene who was very helpful. Our house is only 8 or 9 years old and some shingles had come off the roof on Jan 1st. Irene said they could send someone out the next day(Tues. Jan 4, 2011) between 1:00and 3:00pm. As promised, the Apex Exterior serviceperson (Justin M.) came out and not only replaced the missing shingles, but inpected the whole roof from inside and out. He even took pictures of the damaged areas before he did the repairs so we could see the damage. We only needed 4 shingles replaced and Justin advised that the roof was still in good shape. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and concerns. I would most definitely recommend Apex Exteriors for prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable service. read more
