We needed some new windows, and Tony from Olson Windows walked us through the whole process thoroughly. We got to see the windows at their showroom, so we knew what to expect. Tony was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. The pricing was comparable to another estimate we received, but we are confident that these windows are better quality and will last longer. They included a fix for a hole in our siding without trying to upsell us for all new siding. We ordered in October and the manufacturer had our windows ready for installation in December. The crew that came out were so friendly and very respectful of our home. Scheduling the installation, painting, cleanup, and finishing touches was a breeze. The winter weather did make it difficult for the crew to clean up nails and debris on the outside, but they did come back when it was warmer to clean up. My home was sorely in need of an exterior renovation. 1970's aluminum siding had chalked off the paint, caulk had either disappeared or hardened like rocks, weather worn soffit and fascia. It was a mess. I carefully researched companies that did exterior work. I ultimately chose Olson on the basis of their reputation of doing high-quality work. Shortly thereafter I met with the project manager (Joe H) and he was helped me get the colors and materials picked and ordered and the project was underway. When the install day arrived, I was introduced two a 2-man work crew that would be handling the bulk of the work. In the course slightly more than a week, they totally rebuilt the full exterior of my home. The results are amazing and the home feels new again! Two things really stood out to me and my experience with Olson. 1). The work ethic of that two-man crew. They worked as hard as anyone I have ever seen. Except for lunch, work was non-stop from sunrise to sunset. This was hard and grueling work, especially the demolition of the old siding and stone fascia. They showed up every day like clockwork, and cleaned up after each day. 2). The quality of work they demonstrated. They absolutely knew what they were doing, and they were very good at it. Everything was installed true, level, without gaps, etc. Caulk lines were perfect etc. Everywhere they worked you could see the pride in what they do, and it was very clear there were no shortcuts taken. These two gentlemen were expert craftsman and I can gratefully say my house now reflects that. It turned out more beautiful than I'd ever imagined. I have never nor will ever receive any compensation for this review. My sole motivation for writing is to share the positive experience I had with Olson. Finding a trustworthy company for a project of this size and investment is daunting. Olson, especially their work crew, deserves recognition for a job well done. I can recommend them without hesitation for their quality work and attention to detail. They should be proud of their accomplishments, and I am proud of it too. read more

We had 8 different companies come out for estimates and went with Olson for our siding. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. We couldn't have been happier. Quality work and the PM Joe H came by every day sometimes multiple times to check on progress. Olson and Joe H were awesome to work with and addressed every question we had throughout the process. Nothing is perfect no matter what you pay for it but Olson is as close as you can get. When it comes time for windows we will be calling them again. 5 stars, 10 out of 10, 100% satisfaction, however you want to call it, Olson delivered. Tony was very responsive, knowledgeable, professional and generally nice to work with. If you're anything like us, you may not know where to even begin with windows. We recently had our siding and windows done with Olson. From start to end the process was incredibly easy and our contact through the entire process, Tony, was sure to answer all our questions. Tony was upfront about the possibility of any additional costs that could be involved (we have an old house that required a few additional repairs during the process), and always came to us before moving forward with the unexpected work. They were able to start our house earlier than we were initially told, and the entire process lasted about 2 weeks. Our new windows are done and look beautiful The biggest difference is the office in the front of the house. Instead of having all double hung windows, we now have a big picture window and casement side windows with blinds in between the window panes! Today for the first time, I walked into the office and wasn't cold!!. Hmmmmm. Now I'm thinking about the rest of the windows in the house . We discovered Olson at the Home and Garden show at Arlington Racecourse. After talking to several vendors and getting several quotes, we settled on Olson because of their competitive quote of quality products and their great reputation. They did not disappoint! We ordered 11 replacement windows and had them installed in one day. The installers were clean and courteous and their craftsmanship was second to none. The lead installer even went out of his way to fix our storm door, that wasn't closing right, by adding a few screws! I would recommend Olson to all my friends and family. UPDATE 11/4/2019: I appreciate Caitlin's response. To me it shows they care about feedback. However, I still would have appreciated if there was some sort of communication beforehand when I submitted the original request online that my smaller job would not even be quoted. Original review below. I am giving 3 stars because I cannot even use them but they seemed friendly enough and I think it would serve people well to know my brief experience with them. I contacted them through their website because I just purchased a house this past summer where the owners for some reason did not have gutters on one side of the house. So I only need gutters and downspouts on one side of my house, that's it. And I noted that in my contact form on their website. They were prompt in calling me the next day and leaving a message. When I called them back they seemed enthusiastic about setting up an estimate. When the person on the phone said "So we are doing an estimate for gutters on the whole house?" I answered back "No, I am only missing gutters and downspouts on one side of the house." That was when I was told to please hold and I was placed on a brief hold. When the person got back on the phone they said their gutter installer is really busy and probably would not be available until the end of the year in December and by then with the weather who knows. So yeah, suddenly the installer was very busy and all booked up. They clearly did not want to come and give an estimate and do work for gutters only on one side of the house. It came away feeling like they wanted to say "We're not going to waste our time on a job that size." And if that's not the case, then why were they ready to give me an appointment when they thought it was for the whole house? I get it, it's a small job but I wish they were more up front on their website about the size of jobs they take. I would not have bothered to contact them if that were the case. And frankly, I would have appreciated a more honest answer telling me that the job is too small instead of the "we're all booked up" one that I got. But like I said, they were prompt with getting back to me and seemed nice on the phone. Unfortunately, I will not have the opportunity to use them. No mess was tracked onto the floors, despite the mucky winter conditions outside. Every scrap of paper was removed. We had a totally new look to rooms and home. We recently had 3 windows replaced by Olson. Brian was very helpful and low key. We had originally spoken to the Anderson replacement sales man. He was the worst hi pressure jerk in the word and I've been in sales for 30 years. trained killer... don't leave with out the order. Olson's pricing was fair and much lower than the Anderson replacement price. When the installers arrived they were very friendly and professional. We discovered a significant amount of rot under one of the windows. They tore off the old and replaced studs, insulation and siding. We have used Olson Windows for two major projects since 2013, and we are totally satisfied customers. Olson replaced all of the windows in our house (dates from 1957), and just finished re-siding our house with Hardie board siding. Both jobs were completed on time and within budget. Olson's staff was outstanding, especially Joe Hirschbein who managed the siding project. Each day the workers arrived on schedule, and when finished carefully cleaned up all construction debris. We never felt like we were being oversold things we didn't need, the price was fair - Scott Thorson was really great during the sales process as was Kristy in coordinating the install. The craftsmanship during the install was professional and they stand behind their work. They sent someone out in two days after I called saying a window sash wasn't staying up. We recently renovated our kitchen & needed to eplace a very old back door - Olson was fantastic ... we visited the showroom and Mike was a great help! Tony visited our home to measure & match the existing woodwork (2x) and everyone was excellent. The installation worked well & exactly as planned - they even sealed our front door (not installed by Olson) to make certain our doors were all tight! Prior to installing the door - they requested I come outside to check the design & color - they were not going to install an incorrect door. They also did the same with all the hardware. The Good: Responsive to phone calls. Prompt in setting up appointments, providing quotes, and mid-range pricing. The Bad: Initial quote was given and some time had passed before I was ready to start the relatively small project (compared to larger overall opportunity of total house window replacement). Reconnected with the contractor to move forward with the project and sales person wanted to revisit to make sure dimensions were correct. Upon 2nd visit, sales person confessed he forgot to quote dryvit patching and was very ambiguous regarding what type of patching / painting would be required. He confirmed he didn't know the scope of work because they outsource dryvit work. Sales person was apologetic about his mistake, but said he still had to increase my cost 25% stating that I was getting a few hundred dollar discount due to his error. I re-inquired to discuss and understand the scope of work with the dryvit contractor, but Olson was unable to arrange this meeting. After several communications back and forth, I have still yet to meet a dryvit subcontractor and ultimately hold Olson accountable for lack of service and misrepresentation of quoting. In conclusion, I will take my $100k+ of window replacements to an alternative contractor who values my time, business, and can represent their pricing accurately the first time. Be careful with hiring this contractor. read more

Called Olson for an estimate on a window and siding project. It took two week to get a quote after calls and emails and still all he gave me is a quote for windows, siding never done. I emailed the salesman in question about this issue, never got a response. Of course I went ahead with another company. my recommendation to management will be to be more responsive to customers. read more

Olson just replaced 33 windows, all different sizes and two large palladians. Our experience from start to finish was excellent. Our rep was Dave Dipinto who was capable and low key and delivered on everything we talked about. I was very concerned about losing all of our original oak trim but the replace trim, installation and staining are all excellent. These windows don't look new and they match all the oak trim in the house. The two installers we had were terrific craftsmen, knew exactly what they were doing and finished the job in a little over three days. The stainers also did a fantastic job and even washed the inside windows and put up one of our old shades! We interviewed four companies and we liked the approach of the Olson team and their price was less than what others quoted. This was a huge project but we definitely chose the right company. read more

I love my Pella designer series windows very much. They look beautiful. Olson removed and put the new screen when they found that they were damaged during the installation. Besides, they send the painter to fix my wall, which was little damaged at the time of installation. They took full responsibility to make sure that I am satisfied with the work!
