They have an efficient, seamless process and the departments all work together well so that your file is never stagnant. I closed in under 4 weeks which was awesome. The problem was that my loan officer Francki DiFrancesco repeatedly lied and mislead me about working on lowering my interest rate. She was careful to do this by phone so that there wasn't a paper trail and then by the time she admitted the rate wouldn't change, it was too late. I had to close or lose my $14,000 earnest money deposit and my condo. I wish I worked with anyone at Apex besides Francki. read more

If you are looking for a company that allows discriminatory practices, this is the place for you. During the sale of my property the underwriter processing the loan paperwork arbitrarily decided that the appraisal conducted by a licensed appraiser (and selected by Apex) had "overvalued the property for the area" and would not grant a loan for the appraised amount. All comparisons were thoroughly documented and pricing consistent with market trends throughout the county. It is appalling that an individual without the appropriate licenses can decide that a home in an African American community cannot increase at the same rate as every other property in the county. Furthermore, Apex's decision to allow this kind of practice is inexcusable. If you are looking to buy a home I strongly recommend finding another company. I was going through the initial process of a refinance loan with Trish Broderick who works for this company. If anyone run across her, take my advice and run! First off, she took weeks to get me the disclosures and when I finally got them, I told her I had been working with another lender shopping around for the best rates and wanted to know if she could offer me something better. She gets upset with me and told me how dare I have her office start paperwork and that she was going to cancel my file immediately. First off, this is a business and everyone should research to see who will offer them the best loan. I want to be very clear, her and I were still very early on in the refi process. I would understand if I waited until the very last moment and told her I was going with someone else. Then I would understand but how dare this lady think that I should wait around while rates are going up daily. This lady was too emotional and seems like a vile person! When it comes to getting a mortgage, I'm sorta a nightmare. I'm self employed, I ask a lot of questions, and I always shop around to make sure I'm getting the best possible rate. Larry Finkleberg at Apex Home Loans did a phenomenal job walking me through the mortgage process - and more importantly - keeping my mortgage alive when things got hairy. My mortgage was more complicated than most. Negotiations between the seller and myself took longer than usual so I had to lock in my interest rate beyond the traditional 30 day window. Larry did a great job walking me through my options (paying for a rate lock extension vs letting the rate expire and locking at a higher interest rate) and ultimately got me a very competitive rate. To complicate matters further, the seller agreed to do some pretty significant repairs to the house before settlement. This was great for me as a buyer but it created a lot of paperwork and red tape for obtaining a mortgage.
