I've never picked them as a lender, but 2 of my mortgage loans have been sold to them, so I've been dealing with them since 2018 or 2019. This particular issue has to do with them paying out 2 home owner insurance policies. I called them about a month ago and told them I was changing home owner insurance companies. The company I was moving to pushes everything through underwriting, so it takes them a bit longer. Freedom mortgage ended up paying both the cancelled and new home owner policies for the same year and then they notified me that my escrow was out of wack by over $2000. I'll get the refund from the cancelled policy, but they ignored the fact that I informed them about what was going on. The biggest issue is they paid out 2 homeowners policies for the same year. What if the 1 of the policies was fraudulent... Can you imagine what I, the customer would have to go through to fix that... Freedom Mortgage SUCKS!!!

We have a credit score of over 700 with $60,000 down payment and 2-3 jobs and was still denied. They gave us the run around with 3 different closing dates. They contacted me and my agent to let us know that we were approved with conditions and clear to close with conditions. We met all the unnecessary conditions that they placed. Myself, the real estate agent, the seller and the title company are all on board and agree that this company is a waist of time and bad for business. They waisted our time and money. Further research shows that they are not even mortgage lenders. They are what they call Loan Sharks. I met every condition. I even had to show them itinerary tickets and marriage certificates because they Questioned if my marriage was legit. Incompetent people that have no business being in this business. An appraisal was ordered and we were sent a denial letter with no report from the appraisal. When I called them to explain the reason for denial after 58 days of jumping through loops, their explanations were childish and combative and they simply hung up the phone on me. At that time, I was directed to send my first payment to Tennessee which I did. Only to find out after receiving a letter from their collection agency that my first payment was still due. I called the Tennessee office. They checked on my payment and said it had been received but they did not know where it was. I was told to put a stop on my payment which I did. On the 1st of October I paid the missing September payment and October. I was told to send the payment to the Pittsburgh office and told I should have sent it there anyway. Initially I was told to send the October payment to Pittsburgh. In the meantime, I have gotten two more calls from collection which is causing more stress than I need. I have MS and the stress is causing a flare up. I want them to get their act together and show me that they know what they're doing!!!
