I have been coming here for over a year now. I had changed insurance type with my same carrier and had to make a switch. I am VERY happy that I ended up here at TGD Apex. For starters, it is my neighborhood. Then from the beginning of treatment, the staff here was awesome. Answered a lot of question I had at the beginning and set me up with an amazing dental specialist. I chose her because the first visit was excellent, butterfly treatment. I get my appointments on time but with her only. My teeth are sensitive and I've had a lot of previous treatments to maintain a nice smile. So yes, very picky when it comes to who drills into me. They take insurance and I belive they also offer payment plans through carecredit. Double check with them. There is plenty of parking, you can walk up the stairs or use the elevator. Triangle family dentistry - Green level isn't great at communication. Months ago, I cancelled all my appointments due to a traumatic experience, and even though I called to cancel, and then last month I got a reminder and called them again to tell them I cancelled, today I got an email about a missed appointment. The traumatic experience that I had last year led me to find a new dentist since what was routine prior to that experience has caused me to now have severe anxiety anytime I go to the dentist. I had a dentist who clearly didn't have patience for anything going wrong, and now have to rebuild my ability to think of the dentist as routine. I went in for a crown procedure, there were technical difficulties with the computer, the hygenist put local anesthetic on the wrong tooth, I corrected them, and the put local anesthetic on the correct tooth. Then after putting in epinephrine, and starting drilling, I still wasn't numb enough, and the dentist told me that the amount she was giving me was what they give to someone for a full extraction. (side note, I found out that I have a genetic thing where my body needs more anesthetic). after the second dose, my mouth was finally numb enough, but my tongue wasn't cooperating. While having my tooth drilled, I had an adverse reaction to the epinephrine, and was fighting back a panic attack, and the dentist admonished that I needed to control my tongue. After all the drilling was done, they made a temporary crown because of the aforementioned technical difficulties, and then the dentist told me that it's normal to feel like you're being waterboarded in this situation and that if I ever needed work done on my back teeth again, I should just get them pulled. The next day, I called the dentist, and asked that the dentist with terrible bedside manner never work on me again, and to put the adverse reaction to epinephrine in my chart. I don't expect the dentist to be a fun time, but I also don't think that telling someone it's normal to feel like you're being waterboarded, and that they should get their teeth pulled next time is helpful. I think there are a few other interventions to be tried before that. Additionally, I talked to the dentist about getting a sleeping mouthguard, and I understood that we had ordered it. When I called back a month later, there was no order, and no record, so I was going to have to come in and get my mouth refitted for it. I ended just going online and ordering one at a different place because I no longer had confidence in their communication, or recording abilities. Worst dentist experience I've ever had, and the dentist has always just been routine for me. Almost a year later, I'm still highly anxious to go to the dentist, and the one I am going to, I drive 45 minutes just to have someone who is kind to me while I'm having work done. I wasn't planning on leaving a review. But since I got an email about missing an appointment I've called twice to cancel, here we are. read more

The staff are nice and caring. They have a quick online check in that makes everything simple. I've never written such a negative review before, but Triangle Family Dentist in Apex earned it. My wife, Lenke (who is Hungarian), visited them to address a slightly loose implant crown she'd had placed back in Hungary. Her dentist abroad assured us it was a simple fix with a common 1.25 mm hex driver. We even provided the exact model information. On the surface, Dr. Gonsolas and the assistant seemed polite--and we have the entire conversation recorded because Lenke likes to record details when she's alone to help translate back to me. However, beneath that thin veneer of friendliness, they essentially treated her like a dumb, elderly foreigner who should have spent $5,000 per implant here in the States instead of $2,000 in Hungary. Their tone was dismissive, and they repeatedly insisted that every implant is completely different and that she should simply "fly back to Hungary" rather than let them even attempt the quick fix. They acted like our presence was an inconvenience--no empathy, no genuine problem-solving, just excuses and scare tactics about how it would cost thousands and require cutting everything off. To prove how off-base they were, Cary Implant fixed Lenke's tooth in 15 minutes for $50. That's it. Meanwhile, Triangle Family Dentist tried to make it sound like we'd need an entirely new implant process. I cannot stress enough how demeaning and discouraging this experience was for us--especially for Lenke, who felt belittled and disrespected for her choice to have more affordable work done in Hungary. If you're looking for a practice that cares about its patients and is willing to solve problems without judgment or greed, avoid Triangle Family Dentist. Their lack of competence, empathy, and willingness to help was shocking. It was, without a doubt, one of our worst healthcare experiences ever. A 1.25 mm hex driver is extremely common in implant dentistry worldwide, including in the United States. While it is true that some implant systems use slightly different connections or proprietary designs, many of the major implant brands do use a 1.25 mm hex driver to tighten their abutment screws. How Common Is the 1.25 mm Hex? Despite the variety, a 1.25 mm hex driver is by far one of the most frequently used tools for tightening abutment screws across multiple major implant brands (e.g., Nobel Biocare, Zimmer Biomet, Straumann's older-style connections, and many others).Because it's so prevalent, many general dentists or surgical specialists in the U.S. keep a 1.25 mm hex driver in their toolkit--or they can access it easily if they do any implant work at all. read more
