Now the dinner. We ordered the beet salad which is one of our favorites. It did not disappoint -note that it's seasonal though. For the entrees, we got the chicken parmigiana pasta and the shrimp bolognese pasta. I was debating between that and the shrimp fra diavolo but the latter was out so my choice was decided XD . Apizza Regionale is hands down one of my favorite pizza spots in Syracuse. I absolutely love this place. It is an upscale little spot that feels cozy and comfortable and is perfect for a date night. It can get a little loud on the weekends, but that just comes with how popular it is. My boyfriend and I love coming here every time we visit our hometown. We usually sit at the bar and always end up making friends with the bartenders pretty quickly. The energy is just right. We ordered appetizers and pizza and as always it did not disappoint. We are big fans of the Calabrian pizza. It is so good, especially with the hot honey on top. The balance of flavors is perfect. This time we also tried the special which had shiitake mushrooms, ricotta, a fried egg, and cheese. Overall it was pretty good. He enjoyed it more than I did, but it was still worth trying. The service here is always fantastic and the ambience is really dope. You can come here for a date night or bring the family. They have music playing in the background and while it can get loud at times, I think that just adds to the vibe of the place. I have been coming here for years and I genuinely think everyone should try it. One of my patients actually recommended this spot to me years ago and told me it reminded her of pizza from Italy. Haven't been here in a while and I can say it went slightly down hill. The vibes were great, we got in quickly and everyone around us seemed to be having a great time, including us. The food came out quick but weirdly it was cold and soggy, no flavor. My hopes were definitely high especially with the prices, I can say I am very dissapointed. It wasn't super busy so there was no reason for the food to be cold. On top of this the tables for two are way too small for multiple food items. Something needs to be fixed. read more

SO DELICIOUS! We loved our meal at apizza, and cannot wait to come back! Our pizza and appetizers were top notch and left us full and happy. Servers were very good and on top of things despite how incredible packed and busy the restaurant was. I will start this as I always do by saying I do not give out five stars unless I am really blown away. I still really like this place. It's casual but feels upscale. It's not a big place which makes it nice. The only answer is warm and inviting. The weight staff does a great job cricket taking your order filling your drinks and they are very pleasant. The pizza is top-notch as long as you're not expecting New York style pizza. The bartender Katelyn is amazing. One of my favorite bartenders I've ever had. She has the best laugh ever. We visited Apizza during dining weeks. When our party of 2 arrived, we were told it was a 45 minute wait for a table. We decided to take 2 seats at the bar instead, but it seemed like the wait was not actually that long for the other parties waiting. There are no mocktails on the menu here, but I asked the bartender and he made me something with orange based on what I said I was looking for. I didn't have any wine on this visit, but I liked that their menu featured a wide variety of wines and how most of them were available by the glass. I really enjoyed my pizza, and it was big enough to take a few slices home. For dessert, I had the Budino which was good and very rich- I thought it was a great dessert for sharing. The brittle that came with it was delicious as well. Overall, I'm looking forward to returning to try more of the menu, including the wines and seasonal specialties. read more

We didn't make reservations on the Sunday of a holiday weekend, so they said there would be an hour wait for a table for two. Luckily, we only ended up waiting about twenty minutes. The restaurant has a small parking lot, but it fills up fast. Street parking is available and it's free to park after 6pm. The fried artichoke starter was superb. The artichokes were crispy and rich and melted in your mouth, especially with the accompanying garlic aioli. The misticanza salad was light and refreshing. They were kind enough to swap the red wine vinaigrette for the caramelized orange dressing and it was quite tasty. For my main, I had the patata pizza. It was good, but the potatoes were cut so thinly that you could barely taste them. The main flavor came from the caramelized onions, which were quite sweet, and I think a savory flavor would've worked better for me. The coal fired crust was the perfect texture. It wasn't bad, but just not what I expected. My husband got the shrimp oreganata pizza and ate the whole thing, so clearly that was a hit! Our waitress brought the check before we had the chance to order dessert, but we remedied that and tried the olive oil cake. It was a bit grainier than versions I've had in the past, but still very moist and the olive oil flavor came through nicely. We left satisfied! read more

Wow is the only thing to describe the place. Ambiance was amazing, the wood fire stove kept you warm and it always great to see the food cooked near you. The quality of ingredients were top notch. Friendly staff and attentive. We ordered the chicken parm (best I've ever had and were from NYC), the eggplant pizza special, the regular pie, meatballs and the sausage pasta. Everything was exceptional. The sausage pasta was a little heavier for me but the pies were both done perfectly. A little crispy and doughy and it was nice thin and light. I met some friends in downtown Syracuse at around 6pm on a Tuesday. I have not been to Apizza in many years and was looking forward to the visit. It was just starting to get busy and by the time we left people were waiting to get a table. I was happy to see this wonderful restaurant doing great business and it wasn't even a weekend. I was seated right away, even though the rest of my party wasn't there, which was nice so I could look over the menu and order a drink. The server was over quickly and I asked her about "mocktails" since none were listed. She assured me they could make some of the cocktails without alcohol or whatever I liked. I ordered a Blackberry drink which was excellent and when my friends arrived they had the same drink. The brussel sprouts appetizer was delicious, with onions, cheese and a mustard sauce. I didn't care for the Delicata squash appetizer, however, it was too sweet with the honey but I really just wanted more squash. The batter was thick like a fritter or donut but the squash was so thin it was impossible to taste anything but batter. The salads looked amazing and were thoroughly enjoyed. The pizzas were perfectly cooked....I ordered the plain cheese and others ordered the potato. I passed on the potato pizza thinking the potatoes would be thick cut and heavy, but when I tried a piece they were thinly cut and delicious. I will definitely get that next time. While some people see darkness and think a pizza is overcooked, the char on these was perfect..... adding another depth of flavor to the homemade dough. I've been in to Apizza several times over the almost two years I've lived in SYR. My father is notoriously picky, and he's determined it's his favorite place downtown; it's now a must when he visits from Michigan. I came in for lunch today for the restaurant week deal. $15 for a 9" pizza, a side salad, and a smaller portion of an appetizer. Today it took a long time for pizzas to come out. A couple of people near me had to ask for theirs to be boxed up because it was taking too long. I think the issue was a larger carryout order and it being the lunch rush. Not as high quality espresso as some other places in town, but still good. I got the Calabrian pizza for my meal and added sausage. I was a bit surprised by their menu considering it's a brick oven pizza restaurant. I was expecting to see more variable pizza choices. You can always modify their existing ones or creat your own, but I felt it was limited. The pizza itself was great. Crust was perfect and toppings were fresh. I do feel like service was lacking. What a wonderful find in Downtown Syracuse! The restaurant is cute and very inviting. The inside was bustling, very nice, and smelled of divine food. The patio is absolutely gorgeous. The menu looked so wonderful, we had a hard time choosing. We decided to share a bunch of things so that we could order both of the desserts. We started off enjoying warm olives and cheese which were just exquisite. We then moved on to a panzanella salad which had lovely tomatoes, peaches, corn, bread, and ricotta. One of the nicest panzanella salads we've ever had. Being that one of us is a vegetarian, we opted to share the basic "Apizza". (There were some wonderful sounding meat options for me to try next time!) The crust was almost impossibly thin and wonderful with a lovely sauce and cheese. To be honest, it was one of the best pizzas we've had outside of NYC and New Haven, CT -- absolutely outstanding. Desserts were also incredible with both the Olive Oil Cake with whipped mascarpone and blueberries along with budino (chocolate and hazelnut pudding). We really struggled to find anything at the restaurant that was less than spectacular. They were busy, so the service was slightly slow, but we were grateful that they got us in and we understood.
