We hired Bill to tear out our old concrete patio and lawn and install pavers, new sod along with…read moreall new sidewalks. This was done very late in the fall of 2019. We did not have a chance to access the work, as it snowed shortly after he completed the job. Come spring 2020 we noticed that a large portion of the pavers have settled towards the house, which causes the water to run towards our home. The reason for the landscaping in the first place was because of this issue, which is now worse than it was before.   As for the sod, the yard was never graded and fill was not laid appropriately so the sod could grow. We are left with a very rough yard of dead sod. The only thing that was done properly was the sidewalks, which Bill subcontracted out. The sub contractor came to our residence twice asking for payment even though Bill was paid in full. The sub contractor still has not been paid. 01002339275-00 9 We paid over $18,000 for this landscaping and are left with and absolute disaster. We had several other landscaping companies come to assess and to have the work done properly which we already paid Bill to do will cost at least $7,000. Mind you when we told the other companies what we paid for the work Bill attempted to complete they were astonished and said we were severely overcharged. We have requested Bill pay for us to have the landscaping done properly. We are not asking for reimbursement of the entire amount, but just what we will have to pay to have it completed properly. Bill has refused so we have no other recourse than to file suit. In the process of doing so it appears this will not be the first time Bill has been sued. Appears he operated under a different business name and was sued by another individual, as he has several judgments. We would highly think twice before hiring Bill to do any work for you.

It is now almost December and has already snowed and they still have not done their job. Everytime I call them which is around once a week they tell me they will take care of it within the week and then they always make excuses why its not done. Stay Away from this company!!

My elderly mother is a resident of St. Louis Park and was confronted with a serious land dipping which lead to terribly large sink hole, unleveled landscaping, improper relief and consequential water drainage issues. This issue happened over the past 20 years. I had stepped into help mom find a contractor to fix the issues. We solicited 4 different bids and wound up choosing these folks. Rupert's bid was not the lowest one in the group. They were in the middle. But the owner Jake impressed me so much with his candor and attentiveness to what we wanted done that he was impossible to overlook. We were also clearly not a big money-making gig for Rupert's. They do mostly paver patio work and stylish retaining walls. But our issue was something Jake said they could address and they were able to squeeze us into an already tight schedule. Jake arrived with a small crew of 3 and finished the job in the amount of time he said the job would take. He used all of the materials and had no remnant soil. He actually saved us some money on the delivery fees by consolidating land materials into one type. Most important, they fixed the issue in my mom's backyard and left our property without any mess. Through it all we were made to feel just as important as any larger account. I have posted a few before and after pictures. If you can get on their calendar, I would recommend Rupert's Landscaping. I contacted a few landscaping companies and was referred to Rupert's Landscaping through another…read morecompany, Patio Town. I called to inquire if this company worked with areas of a yard where pavers had shifted over many years and were becoming hazardous to walk on. A third company had over reacted by my needs and kept stopping by when I was not home. Rupert's returned my call, we set up a specific meeting time and the owner Jake came to see the area that needed to be repaired. He suggested different ideas that I might consider and assured me that he could re-use the existing pavers, a significant cost savings for me! Jake and his team of 3 total men would remove the patio and walkway of pavers, reinforce "no shifting" with a border around the whole project, followed up by sweeping with a poly sand to keep pavers in place and weeds out. His team arrived as planned, began to work immediately and explained the steps they would be taking. Throughout the day they were diligent in their work and very knowledgeable of how to complete the task safely and efficiently. The project was completed in one day thanks to the heart and soul of these three individuals. Jake suggested my using a dark shade of mulch that would make the patio and walkway stand out....great idea as I have already had three neighbors ask for his company phone number. Mangold horticulture is responsible for destroying my hosta garden. I started this garden in 2009…read moreand had purchased several expensive Hosta's and perennials to be placed in my garden. Last summer my hosta garden is just about completely gone. I reached out to Mangold to let them know that I had seen two employees spraying in my garden and another pulling up my perennials. They have taken no responsibility and refused to return my phone calls or emails. I also had a hosta garden in my backyard from 2009 and when they put rock down in my neighbors backyard they took all of my 14 year old hostas. They did not replace these, nor give me an explanation as to why they just took them. I am devastated at what my beautiful garden looks like now. Not to mention the amount of money I spent on these gardens on a limited income. It just depresses me every time I look out at my garden in which I spent years creating and money to see this devastation.
