I called Spectrum in May 2026 to stop service for my 88 yr old mother because she passed away…read more Spectrum said they did not "see her in their system".... so I had to block them from stealing any more money from my mother's bank account. Not sure how Spectrum got my moms credit card, but yep, the next month, I had to cancel my now deceased mothers credit card to keep Spectrum from stealing. Spectrum won't give an email address for a paper trail to prove I canceled service. Now today I get a THREATENING LETTER & bill for June and July. DO NOT USE SPECTRUM--- they will NOT allow you to stop service EVER... not even when you DIE!!! I don't have time to grieve my mom because of companies like Spectrum that make this a full time job dealing with this crap.

They used to have good service at the Overland Park KS store, but no more. They wont give you tech…read moresupport in store with your phone at all. I also got the basic cable package, but customer service is so bad, the only things I have figured out I did on my own. I am retired and disabled. Their customer service personnel have been very rude, or just unwilling to even try to help. I am paying for stuff I can't use. Sometimes it wants you to pay more money to watch a program. If you try accessing it 3 times, it might let you watch it at no additional cost. They don't tell you that. They don't tell you lots of things, and no manual provided. I am cancelling Spectrum. Found a good deal at the AT&T store.

Ok, so this is not so much a local business so I'm not really picking on the Overland Park branch…read more However, I did feel the need to post a warning because you may get suckered in by the "cool" factor of internet on-the-go. I'm not usually an early adopter, but the idea of being able to take my notebook into a place that doesn't have internet and be connected is a nerd's dream. As a family, we also like going on road trips, and I had this giddy vision that I when it's not my turn to drive, I could be riding shotgun with my notebook and getting some work done. Well, I should have heeded the red flags that went off when they required you to either by all the equipment up front (which was $200+) or submit to a 2-year contract. Now, I'm sitting here watching a download that I started before I went to bed last night with 6 hours left to go and longing for the days I had comcast (yeesh). Part of me thinks that the speed will get better over time, but the coverage here in KC is about as good as it can get. I think the problem may be the fiber cement siding on my house, but the connection doesn't get better next to the windows. The "mobile" works until you get about 1/2 mile outside of Kansas City and then disappears. It's supposed to switch to the nationwide 3G network if it can't connect to the Clear 4G one, but it has yet to do this. However, the 2nd star for this review is because I can go to a park around town and get internet (should that situation ever arise). Outside of that I pretty much think it's a bust and am counting down the days until July, 2012. If the world hasn't ended by then, I am soooo dumping them.

Worst. Internet. Ever. Actually, CLEAR is one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with in…read moremy 30 years. I live in Mid-town Kansas City (close to westport) and have found that my connection is on par with dial-ups I've had. (Only it costs $50 per month!) Whenever I call them (over a dozen times) they tell me that they're experiencing high volume and equalizing everyone's bandwidth. Evidently all times (even early morning like 3:00 am Central time) are "high volume". Of course I played with the modem for hours, my signal strength on the modem is always full strength, and the Clear website connection support shows that I'm getting full strength connection. Also, they claim that there are "no contracts" and maybe that's true now, but I got roped into a contract and they're going to charge me a huge fee simply because I'm moving out of the area and into a town with no Clear Internet available. thank god. Basically, if you are considering CLEAR internet, you need to RUN, FLY! get as far as you can from these scam artists!
