Pixie Woods 70th Birthday Opening Day 2024!
    Linda R.

As an Oakland native, Pixie Woods definitely reminded me of Fairyland! Same concept. I brought my daughter on their opening Day June 1st as they were celebrating its 70th Birthday and had a carnival, cake, face painting, magic show all included with admission which was thoughtful! If I remembered correctly admission is $6. Rides are $5 for 3 rides. (They only have 3 rides: boat ride, train ride, & carrousel) OR $9 for unlimited rides wristband. We ended up getting the wristband but it wasn't worth it, as the park was extremely packed and the lines for the rides were pretty lengthy, we only got on each ride once, but I'm sure on a regular day with no event happening, it's worth it to get the unlimited. Carrousel was so fun, goes pretty fast. Train ride was funny with all the things you pass and see along the ride, and the tunnel was the cutest, get ready to get your phone out and take a video. They even have a little water park so be sure to pack an extra pack of clothes for the kiddos unless you don't mind them getting soaked and getting back in your car. They have a food stand with foods like hot dogs, pretzels, nachos, chili, chips, shaved ice, fountain drinks, etc. We didn't purchase food here but prices ranged from $4-$8 I believe. This was a great way to spend a few hours and let your kids run around, play and tire them out. I'd definitely bring my daughter back. I am pretty bummed, there opening day my daughter & I stood in line for face painting for 1h & 35m literally and it was during the time that they passed out the raffle it was 70 $70 gift cards and apparently my number got called while in line & I didn't hear it and it's not like I had anyone to go get my prize for me. So by the time my daughter got her face painted and we went to give them our #. They said they called it out already and literally handed out the last gift card to someone. So that was pretty sucky. It's okay though. We had a great time and it was a great event. Their hours of Operation are: June - July 2024 Thursday - Sunday 10am - 4pm August - October 2024 Saturday & Sunday Only 10am - 4pm

My family has been coming to pixie woods for 50 years. My grandma brought my mom, me and now my kids as well. As a kid I remember my imagination going wild feeling like it was a magical place with magical creatures, I loved exploring all the playgrounds and seeing familiar characters from storybooks. The concession stand still serves hotdogs nachos and pretzels next to a splash pads for the kids. The bathrooms are clean and have a changing table. I felt safe letting the kids explore while we relaxed on a shady bench. We definitely will be back

Another Yelp search success! We decided to come here last minute since it was a nice sunny morning and I found this place on Yelp. I had never even heard of it before, but if you're from Sacramento it reminded me of Fairytale Town. Definitely a bit older looking and older play structures but aside from the wear and tear, it was a pretty clean place. On top of that, it was super affordable which is great for families (and especially larger families!) because activities can add up really quickly. It's $5 for anyone age 2 and up, and free for under age 2. If you want to ride the carousel or train, it's an additional $1 per person. Since it was Father's Day, my husband had 50% off of his ticket too, so that was a nice surprise! We arrived right when they opened too, so it wasn't too crowded at all considering it was a Sunday and also Father's Day. We even got to ride the train by ourselves because no one else was coming to ride it yet! It was a cute little ride which lasted maybe about 5-10 minutes which is good for a kid's short attention span. There are a ton of little play structures and themed areas everywhere and our son really enjoyed the big fire truck. You could easily spend a couple hours here! You can't bring outside food but they do have a cafe there. Even though it was a sunny morning and got pretty warm, there are lots of trees and shaded areas. Even though the area is pretty random, it's a nice alternative to all of the usual children activities in Sacramento and probably less crowded than those places too.

The water sucks and it smells

The place is horrible. The food sucks and their drinks suck. My son dropped him five times. I had to pay for new ones each time. And it's breaking and this place is just smelling.

It's a great place with so many park areas inside. I love that it is wheelchair friendly but also has a lot of places to sit. I was able to use my canes the second time we came for a visit. They have a water feature next to their food court. The train, boat and carrousel are for purchase of tickets. Very affordable for entrance and the rides. Lots of shady areas so it not like a hot place. They have party areas if you would like to have a party here. Parking and location is good. Wasn't hard to find.

I took my kids today! The entrance fee $5 per person and kids under 2 are free. My kids loved it! We also bought the unlimited rides pass, which is $8 per person or you can choose to purchase one ticket per ride. My kids had a blast on the merry go round, the train, going on the play structures, and playing in the water area. They also have a boat ride but it was closed today due to low water levels. They have lots of play and shaded areas. The snack bar has a variety. They have hotdogs, corn dogs, and many other foods/drinks. We chose to get ice cream. We really enjoyed our time there and can't wait to go back!

We came here on a Sunday with a 4 and 6 year old. Stayed for 2 hrs. Went through the whole park and back. We all enjoyed it. Loved all the shade cause it was 80 today. It's geared more for little ones but definitely worth the visit.

My five year grandson and I went to Pixie woods on Sunday, August 21st, 2022 and we really enjoyed our time there. We took the boat ride, which was short but fun. We enjoyed the Dinosaurs, the pirates boat, the mirrors that stretched us out or made us small, Alice in Wonderland, the stagecoach, the food center, especially the snow and ice cream cones plus plus. Our favorite thing was the fire truck, I was the assistant, and Rylan was the captain, telling me to do this and that..it was quite enjoyable!

Pixie Woods is a classic -- I love coming here with my daughter and reliving memories from my childhood! However, this review is for Yum Yum House (the Pixie Wood's Restaurant). The menu is great (see attached photos). I got the nachos and pretzel, both were excellent. The only thing missing is chicken tenders, but otherwise a great establishment.

The place has def seen better days but you can call it a hidden gem. My 3 year old loved running around the area and splashing in the water park area. I think they should invest more in the park settings (update paint and replace old characters) but def worth visiting if you have little ones who won't notice!

It's a great place for little ones to burn off energy, and the overall atmosphere felt lively and kid-focused. One thing we really appreciated was the included arcade games--it was a nice bonus and gave us a fun little break between jumping sessions. That said, some of the inflatables were a bit worn down and discolored, which made parts of the space look like they could use a refresh. It didn't stop the kids from having fun, but it was noticeable. I also felt the price was a little steep--about $40 for myself, my 3-year-old, and a pair of socks for 90 minutes of jumping. Overall, it was still a really enjoyable experience and my child had a blast, which is what matters most. If the inflatables were updated a bit and the pricing adjusted, it would easily be a 5-star experience.

She was very helpful and informative the entire time, even after our room block closed. The waterpark is great for kids probably from 3-12. We saw adults enjoying their time there, but mostly kids/families were kiddos that were fully mobile and at least 3 ft tall. I think 3ft is the minimum for getting kids access to 2 of the waterslides. My son just hit that requirement and he had such a blast just with the two slides. I think the 4-5 year olds loved the tide pool and the slides as well. This spot is really convenient for families to just have a place to stay, food, and entertainment all in one place. There are activities like yoga, story time, and arts & crafts. They also have a candy and ice cream shop on site. I really think we could probably come here annually and our kids can keep coming back to experience new things. My son only explored a fraction of the park, so I think by next year he'll have an even better time. Food here is mostly fried and not super diverse. Manage your expectations for healthier options because they really cater to the kids with pizza, burgers, nachos. The one salad they had on the menu was shockingly nor good. The rooms here are a small step above holiday inns - clean enough, pretty basic with not a ton of frills, has a mini fridge and plenty of counter space. I feel like food, rooms, entertainment, etc are all catered for families, don't expect luxury or any frills - but expect making some sweet and exciting memories with the family!

Fortunately, for 3 days (July 3, 4 and 5) they were open 10 - 6. The 2 extra hours made all the difference for me. I entered a lot of ride, without rushing. Fash Land pass helped a lot to reduce the waiting time for rides. Banana split and roller coaster were the only (slightly) adventurous rides. Garlic ride was kind of iconic. Swan boat had a long line without Fast Lane pass. With Fast Lane pass, I was able to get in right away. The boat I got was something broken inside. I was not able to steer it. I tried to keep it straight, but it was going in circles. Train ride around the property was fun. The car which runs in rails was a lot of fun for kids, they feel like they are driving. Water fountain was crowded, with almost no shade or place to change. Strawberry ride, hot air balloon ride, artichoke ride, water ride and carousal were all fun. Tickets at the gate was the highest priced, followed by tickets online directly from their site. I got ticket from Groupon at significant discount (~$42 for Cherry Jubilee and included Fast Lane). I heard other sites sell similar priced tickets as well. If you plan to go more than once a year, annual membership makes sense. I had to pay $25 extra for parking. I was there on Cherry Jubilee, which seems to be their award winning festival. I was busy with the rides, and ignored Cherry Jubilee for most part. There were some special cherry related foods. Cherry Jubilee food pass was $65 at the gate or $60 online to enjoy any 6 specials (ONLY). I bought one online. I wouldn't say that was good value. Cherry jubilee food price varied from $10 - $13 even without the pass. For most part I was dissapointed with the food. From Nannerz' Num Numz, I had sugar cookie ice cream sandwich with cherry ice cream, deep fried French today stick with cherry cheese and deep fried cheesecake with cherry sauce. Cherry ice cream was my favorite. From Cherry Jubilee tent, I had Fresh squeezed cherry lemonade and Shirley Temple. Shirley temple was better. Lemonade didn't taste fresh squeezed. From San Juan grill, I tried the specials gourmet cherry barbecue burger and kicking barbecue wings. Both were dissapointments. Some part of the burger was very cold, like it was just taken out from fridge. The case of wings was similar. I had a horchata from here, which was ok. There was a chick fil a inside Gilroy Gardens. Probably that was the best food you can have once inside.

The hot air balloon ride was horrid we had to get out of line bc it took forever to start each time, they just let fast track people on, and it didn't fit that many people each time. Water: looked fun but we didn't have the water play items and didn't want to spend another $50 on towels and such. The train broke. The monorail was broken the whole day. I asked an employee why we couldn't go down the slides with our daughter and she said per new ownership, they changed the rules. Except recent videos (as of today) on social media of people advertising this place show adults going down the slides. We also witnessed adults walking around the top floors with their kids and going down the slides. It seems that the rules aren't applicable to everyone. Tons of balls in the ball pit were deflated, the ball cannon shooters were not working and that's pretty much all there is to do if you stay on the ground floor. Older kids can play in the ball pit and it's simply way too small for that. My daughter was terrified of the older kids running and jumping into the pit around her. It was a rainy day outside and very crowded. I asked one of the floor workers if she could turn on the giant overhead fan to help move some air around since it was very muggy and warm and she said she had to ask the owner first. She even admitted she was getting hot as well. 20 minutes went by and it was never turned on. I guess it doesn't work? Not sure why you need to ask the owner for permission to turn on a fan. The layout could use a little rearranging. It's a cool concept, just not executed nearly as well as others with the same idea. For the price, $40-ish for two adults to accompany their toddler, it's absolutely not worth it. We won't be returning. Also keep in mind, if you order tickets and sign the waiver ahead of time, you'll still have to wait in line behind people who didn't. Just one person in front of us with one child took 15 minutes to buy their tickets and sign the waiver. Once we were checked in which took less than 5 minutes, the line was out the door. There are also no lockers to safely put your belongings in, just open cubby's.
