My family has been coming to pixie woods for 50 years. My grandma brought my mom, me and now my kids as well. As a kid I remember my imagination going wild feeling like it was a magical place with magical creatures, I loved exploring all the playgrounds and seeing familiar characters from storybooks. The concession stand still serves hotdogs nachos and pretzels next to a splash pads for the kids. The bathrooms are clean and have a changing table. I felt safe letting the kids explore while we relaxed on a shady bench. We definitely will be back

Another Yelp search success! We decided to come here last minute since it was a nice sunny morning and I found this place on Yelp. I had never even heard of it before, but if you're from Sacramento it reminded me of Fairytale Town. Definitely a bit older looking and older play structures but aside from the wear and tear, it was a pretty clean place. On top of that, it was super affordable which is great for families (and especially larger families!) because activities can add up really quickly. It's $5 for anyone age 2 and up, and free for under age 2. If you want to ride the carousel or train, it's an additional $1 per person. Since it was Father's Day, my husband had 50% off of his ticket too, so that was a nice surprise! We arrived right when they opened too, so it wasn't too crowded at all considering it was a Sunday and also Father's Day. We even got to ride the train by ourselves because no one else was coming to ride it yet! It was a cute little ride which lasted maybe about 5-10 minutes which is good for a kid's short attention span. There are a ton of little play structures and themed areas everywhere and our son really enjoyed the big fire truck. You could easily spend a couple hours here! You can't bring outside food but they do have a cafe there. Even though it was a sunny morning and got pretty warm, there are lots of trees and shaded areas. Even though the area is pretty random, it's a nice alternative to all of the usual children activities in Sacramento and probably less crowded than those places too.

The water sucks and it smells

The place is horrible. The food sucks and their drinks suck. My son dropped him five times. I had to pay for new ones each time. And it's breaking and this place is just smelling.

It's a great place with so many park areas inside. I love that it is wheelchair friendly but also has a lot of places to sit. I was able to use my canes the second time we came for a visit. They have a water feature next to their food court. The train, boat and carrousel are for purchase of tickets. Very affordable for entrance and the rides. Lots of shady areas so it not like a hot place. They have party areas if you would like to have a party here. Parking and location is good. Wasn't hard to find.

I took my kids today! The entrance fee $5 per person and kids under 2 are free. My kids loved it! We also bought the unlimited rides pass, which is $8 per person or you can choose to purchase one ticket per ride. My kids had a blast on the merry go round, the train, going on the play structures, and playing in the water area. They also have a boat ride but it was closed today due to low water levels. They have lots of play and shaded areas. The snack bar has a variety. They have hotdogs, corn dogs, and many other foods/drinks. We chose to get ice cream. We really enjoyed our time there and can't wait to go back!

We came here on a Sunday with a 4 and 6 year old. Stayed for 2 hrs. Went through the whole park and back. We all enjoyed it. Loved all the shade cause it was 80 today. It's geared more for little ones but definitely worth the visit.

My five year grandson and I went to Pixie woods on Sunday, August 21st, 2022 and we really enjoyed our time there. We took the boat ride, which was short but fun. We enjoyed the Dinosaurs, the pirates boat, the mirrors that stretched us out or made us small, Alice in Wonderland, the stagecoach, the food center, especially the snow and ice cream cones plus plus. Our favorite thing was the fire truck, I was the assistant, and Rylan was the captain, telling me to do this and that..it was quite enjoyable!

Pixie Woods is a classic -- I love coming here with my daughter and reliving memories from my childhood! However, this review is for Yum Yum House (the Pixie Wood's Restaurant). The menu is great (see attached photos). I got the nachos and pretzel, both were excellent. The only thing missing is chicken tenders, but otherwise a great establishment.

The place has def seen better days but you can call it a hidden gem. My 3 year old loved running around the area and splashing in the water park area. I think they should invest more in the park settings (update paint and replace old characters) but def worth visiting if you have little ones who won't notice!

I came with my parents and 2 kiddos (5 yo and 1 yo). The breakfast buffet has gotten better and the customer service is noticeably better than we had experienced in the past. The ready to order eggs and omelette are yum. Something for everyone. My baby loves the fruits. Overall resort is clean and feels relatively safe. It's not unusual to see kids wandering around alone and lots of parents around keep watchful eyes out. It's definitely a resort more for the kids, so bring your inner child. The magiquest game is so cheesy, but my kiddo and husband enjoy it. Lots of kids play it, so you'll feel like you're missing out if you don't. We always end up doing more activities than we initially plan, so next time we'll probably look into trying one of the bundle discount passes. Personally my favorite part is that the water park is indoors. You don't have to cross your fingers for good weather and you don't have to wear sunscreen. I mobile order the lunch and eat inside the water park so my kid can stay in her suit swim still soaking wet.

I said what if I was allergic to mango. She said, if you are don't drink it. I said I'm not, but what if I was. I told her I would accept the drink since it was already made. I let it go and took a couple of sips and set it down between 2 lawn chairs and went on a slide with the kids. When I came back it was tipped over. I paid almost $30 for this drink. You could see the line on the cup that I had not drank much of it before it spilled. So I went back to tell them that someone spilt it. It was not long after I purchased it. She said unless one of the employees saw what happened, then there was nothing they could do about it. Then I asked for her supervisor. When she came she said they could give me a discount. I asked how much would it cost. I ordered a dbl Pina colada. Then I saw the girl who made the drink tell her she didn't make it a double. She said the discounted price was $35 big ones. That's more than I paid for the first one. I'm not paying $65 for a drink. The wolf lodge makes plenty of money. I wasn't the one who spilled the drink. 8 hope the lifeguards are paying attention to the kids not the drink. I believe the supervisor was named Dez and the bartender was Alexis. For years, based on the promotional photos I saw, I avoided the Gilroy Gardens (GG) family theme…read morepark. I thought it would be tacky and hyper-commercialized. Curiosity, together with my wife's desire to see the place, finally got the better of me--and I discovered that I had been wrong. GG in my opinion manages to strike the best balance that any such theme park probably can in terms of appealing to the masses while at the same time avoiding the trap of being tacky or hyper-commercialized. The varied rides and exhibits are pleasant and well-maintained. Some are even quite artistic (like the totem poles, illustrated in the image attached here) and educational (like the ecologically oriented Green Barn). If you're already familiar with GG, you don't need me to tell you about it. If you're not, here are a few tips--which might not be obvious to the uninitiated--that might help you better enjoy it: * The lines for the rides can be very long at times. You might end up waiting for an hour before it's your turn. Best to be prepared for that and plan it into your itinerary. * We noticed a small number of people who avoided the lines for all rides, being let in through the back gate/exit. When we asked about this at the Welcome Center, we learned that GG sells yellow wristbands that allow people to skip the long lines and enter through the "back door" (exit). They cost something like $85 per person for the year or about $30 per visit, in addition to the membership fee. * Even with those wristbands, you'll need more than one visit to see and do everything here. Rushing around a lot will spoil the fun. * The food everywhere, as far as we could tell, is pretty bad. You'll be ahead of the game if you pack your own, which will also avoid your waiting in another line. * The big secret, so to speak, of GG is "hidden" in plain sight--in the second word of the name itself, "Gardens." Most visitors are so preoccupied with going on the rides that they miss out on the natural beauty of the gardens. We found Camellia Garden and Claudia's Garden, in particular, to be like sheltered oases of calm and natural beauty within the hustle and bustle of the park. In our opinion, the three most obvious ways in which GG could be improved are as follows: 1. Improve the quality of the food that's offered. With all the traffic the park gets, those concession stands must be worth a small fortune. Either get them to do better or replace them with businesses that will. 2. Design a more user-friendly map. Those who already know their way around don't need a map but for those who don't, the existing map is not sufficiently clear (hint: it probably needs to be larger). 3. Do a better job of training the staff, in terms of both knowledgeability and attitude. Some are quite good (a special shout out to Nina at the Welcome Center and Sean at the Garlic Twirl ride: they exuded both warmth and professionalism) but others, who shall remain nameless, need more training. Minus one star for those deficiencies, as well as for not making it sufficiently clear at the time of the 2026 premium membership purchase that the bring-a-friend tickets that came with the membership had to be picked up almost immediately or they would not be available.

We were informed that adults are NOT allowed on the second story of the play structure and cannot accompany our child on the slides. Our 21 month old had to stay on the first floor the whole visit. She started getting upset that we wouldn't allow her to follow the other kids up to the slides. I asked an employee why we couldn't go down the slides with our daughter and she said per new ownership, they changed the rules. Except recent videos (as of today) on social media of people advertising this place show adults going down the slides. We also witnessed adults walking around the top floors with their kids and going down the slides. It seems that the rules aren't applicable to everyone. Tons of balls in the ball pit were deflated, the ball cannon shooters were not working and that's pretty much all there is to do if you stay on the ground floor. Older kids can play in the ball pit and it's simply way too small for that. My daughter was terrified of the older kids running and jumping into the pit around her. It was a rainy day outside and very crowded. I asked one of the floor workers if she could turn on the giant overhead fan to help move some air around since it was very muggy and warm and she said she had to ask the owner first. She even admitted she was getting hot as well. 20 minutes went by and it was never turned on. I guess it doesn't work? Not sure why you need to ask the owner for permission to turn on a fan. The layout could use a little rearranging. It's a cool concept, just not executed nearly as well as others with the same idea. For the price, $40-ish for two adults to accompany their toddler, it's absolutely not worth it. We won't be returning. Also keep in mind, if you order tickets and sign the waiver ahead of time, you'll still have to wait in line behind people who didn't. Just one person in front of us with one child took 15 minutes to buy their tickets and sign the waiver. Once we were checked in which took less than 5 minutes, the line was out the door. There are also no lockers to safely put your belongings in, just open cubby's.
