They ordered the part and called me 3 days later to say I could pick it up. The store is clean and organized. The staff is direct and straightforward with explaining charges and route to repairs and diagnostics. It was a very good experience and I would not hesitate to have them do additional work on other devices and computers.

This is my first negative Yelp review and I really, really wanted to give this shop a chance since…read moreit is a small business and had a decent review on Yelp. I brought my desktop computer in on 12/30/22 to get it repaired because either the motherboard or power supply burned out. I brought the computer in, left it with them, and went about my day. I hadn't heard back from them by 1/4, so I gave them a call to see what the prognosis was. The staff confirmed that the mother board blew out so I asked them to have the tech who was repairing it call me so I could talk to them about the best option to replace the motherboard. The staff (the owner I think) said the tech would call me. Several days after with no call, I call in and the owner tells me the tech will call me back Monday. Monday comes and goes and over the next ten days I call about 6-7 times to speak to the tech who will always "be in later" or who is "on lunch." After about 15 days of no contact from the tech and never being able to get ahold of him, I asked them to reassemble my machine so I can pick it up later. I come in a week later and I'm charged $20 for them to return my computer. I end up paying $25 since he only wanted cash and I only had plastic on me. I would not recommend this place, it felt very unprofessional and a bit suspicious.

My Mac's screen sizzled and then went dead after some water damage. I took the Mac to Apple and off course those self serving geniuses immediately told me my Mac is history and I would need to rebuild the entire circuit board for 900.00 or get a new computer. I was bummed and did nothing for month until I realized there is life outside apple care. So I called a few places on yelp and didn't get some good vibes. Most of them wanted to charge me non refundable fees to see if they can fix it and some over the phone also said i needed a new circuit board. So my intuition told me to call Machero and they told me to bring it in for free estimate, no obligation. I figured worse case they would tell me what the others did about a circuit board. An hour after I brought it in, Gino tells me the only thing that was damaged was some memory chips and he can repair everything for under $100.00 total. Now, let me reiterate. I know as much about Macs as I do about astrophysics so he could have told me the bogus b.s. the other places told me and taken me to the cleaners Instead, his focus was on me as a person, not me as a number, or a receipt. Maybe if more businesses and their owners were as decent and ethical as he was, they'd be in business and not part of our financial fiasco. So let me save you time and money and headaches. Be like NIKE: Don't think, just do it, and if you have a Mac issue, bring it in for some real people skills in fixing your mechanical ones.

Gino and I got in touch because of an event I was running for FreshBooks. I needed a space and wanted to spend as little money as possible. I reached out to some of our customers in Chicago and Gino was SO awesome to get back to me super quickly and offer up his space to host our workshop. He worked with me to secure catering, audio-visuals and anything else I needed. Srsly -- ANYTHING! I needed a bunch of chairs and rental places weren't down with renting only 50. He got in touch with a nearby church and helped us arrange a donation to its after school program. AND helped me carry and drive over the chairs throughout one of the city's first snowfalls of the year. Incredible. Gino was the best host ever and I'm basically spoiled for out-of-town events for the rest of my life. Best dude. Best.

No chime, no green light, nothing. Apple store told me that the machine was too old for them to fix, but I gave these guys a call & not only was I out the door for a fraction of the price of other shops I called (they wanted $550), but they picked it up from my house for "free", hahaha. Honestly, it was great. I was able to select which kind of part that I wanted (used or new) for the price + flat $200 rate for installation of other upgrades, so I got a new battery ($40), new hard drive, and upgraded my RAM. My old drive was damaged due to the fall, but they managed to get the data back, again: covered by the flat rate. And FAST. All in, I think it was 3 days & now I feel like I have a new laptop, and my kid won't be allowed within 15 feet of the machine. If you go to their location, you need an appointment - its just one or two guys I think. Love shopping locally & having my "trusted mechanic" down the street from me!

The Mac is back…read more CompuTechs+ replaced my faulty power jack and performed a 26-point system optimization on my Powerbook (much like what Jiffy Lube does with their oil changes, hehe). Also, if you go with the 'flat-rate' troubleshooting option, you'll save a ton of money. After the 10% off if paid in cash discount they're touting on their Yelp page, my total came to $175. The same repair at the Apple store would have run me at least $400. Take advantage of their pick up/drop off service and request a loaner laptop if you'll be needing one. It's FREE for goodness sake.
