They ran their tests, charged me a fee and could not replicate the failure. Once I got the computer home, it crashed once the game was being played and they said they did everything they could and I was out of luck. I decided months later to see Adam at nerd rangers. He was very thorough in gaining background on the issue. He asked me whether the other repair shop tried to run the actual game? I was not sure so he went ahead and loaded Fortnite and said he would do his best to replicate the issue. Later that day he reached out to let me know that he believes he found the reason the game crashed (as it did for him) and he felt confident that he fixed the issue. When I went to pick up the computer he reassured me that if for some reason the fix didn't work he would continue to work with me to identify the problem. The system was stuck in a recovery loop, BitLocker was triggered, and Windows wouldn't load or even reliably enter repair mode. Multiple shops I called said it would take several days just to diagnose the issue. Matt turned it around in essentially one day. He was able to manually access the system, unlock BitLocker, repair the corrupted boot configuration, rebuild the necessary Windows files, and get the machine fully operational again -- without wiping my data. The owner is knowledgeable, competent, reasonably priced and has good customer rapport. I had a problem with a bad trackpad on an old Mac portable. I took the computer to another western suburb computer repair location and they installed a substandard component which looked and felt, to the touch, cheap and flimsy, even popping up at the edges. Anyone who works with documents knows that touch and feel on a keyboard and pad is very important in order to have confidence when fast typing. Being thoroughly dissatisfied with the repair, I took the computer to this place for a diagnosis. Not only did he diagnose the problem, he opened the computer before my eyes, explained a number of component issues, replaced the components by switching components in stock so that I did not have to experience down business time and a loss of money, and suggested future fixes. In the process of transferring data from a new computer, using an external drive, the external hard drive crashed with ALL of my pictures on it, in addition to the easy transfer file. I called Angelo at 7pm at night. He called right back and arranged to pick up hard drive at my home the next morning. He was punctual, informative and best of all recovered all my data, loaded it on a new hard drive and returned it the next day. I would highly recommend his services to anyone. I have an Alienware 17 R2 which was having performance issues - like major and sudden FPS drops in games. I realized it was due to increase in CPU temp. I took it to Angelo to clean the air vents internally, but Angelo educated me about the Thermal paste - had no idea about it. He changed the old layer for a new one and cleaned the vents as well, and voila - my CPU temps are down to 55-65 C even during gaming, and my games are running buttery smooth! He also helped me with some other suggestions, and added a anti-malware app for free. Extremely grateful - highly recommended!! read more

He was able to fix my computer within the same day. I dropped it off at 8:30 AM and picked it up 4:30 PM in the same day. The problem was my macbook pro was unable to charge. I tried everything including clearing the debris from the port and buying a new charger. Buying a new charger worked for a while but then one day it didn't. So when I gave it to him he was able to fix the issue and my laptop is now capable of charging yet again! He also got rid of viruses and malware that I didn't even know were on my laptop! The owner came in his jeep, changed the hdd in my laptop in 45 minutes, despite the fact it was a closed laptop that had to be pried open. He also explained to me what he is doing and was generally very friendly. This guy really knows what he is doing. And it only cost me 50$, which is way less than what others quotet. Informative and timely with the laptop repair! I spilled tea on my laptop and had to replace the motherboard and battery. He estimated close to $700 in repairs, but cost ended up being a couple hundred less. Laptop was ready in a week and is functioning like normal. DPC Computer Repair will always be my go to business to care for my computer. My computer was kind…read moreof chugging along and when I ran a scan , it turned out I needed a new battery. I brought the computer to Best Buy and I have to say the gentleman there was very helpful. He explained that I would have to purchase my battery since Best Buy didn't carry it . But once I had it , they would be happy to install the battery.....if I leave it there for 3 days. I am not willing to install it myself but when it arrived , I realized I did not feel comfortable leaving my computer there for that long. So , I searched for an alternative. I noticed that DPC had very high ratings so I took a chance , called and asked if I could get this done within one day. Yes, was the answer , as long as I brought it in the morning. So, I did. Just after opening, I arrived with "the patient" and the battery. The gentleman there told me to stay there and wait because it could be done very quickly. Excellent ! And it was done in less than 1/2 hour, for a very reasonable price . I didn't have to leave it for 3 days. (for a battery?) Sorry Best Buy. If repairs arise again, I know where I will go from now on.
