They care for your kids like they are their own. I never worry about my boy. Kristin that works up front is just a doll. And Ruth always seems to take care of my stubborn boy. She never complains. I know that my dogs will be treated well and looked after just like I would at home. (With probably more attention...lol). The staff is amazing and they care for your pets like they are their own. I never worry about my boys when they're here. Dawn is amazing and can answer all questions. All the staff is open and friendly and are good at soothing the nerves of nervous pet parents. There are some add on's that are extra but completely worth it. My dog loves the water park! Thanks again to the staff at Second Home. I recommend them to every pet parent I know.

I was referred to this business by a local Boston Terrier Facebook group. Their reviews were…read morestellar, so I reached out to them. I needed to board my pup while I went on vacation and passed their initial free assessment and complementary play date, filed his health records with them etc. A week later I dropped him off for his week of boarding. When I arrived home I quickly dropped off my luggage and immediately went to pick him up. Once I arrived, excited to see my little dude they brought him out. He was not himself. Not excited, and lethargic. I figured he was just tired from his week of playing with other pups. As soon as I put him in my car he fell asleep, and once home he did the same thing, which for a 6-month-old Boston Terrier is unheard of. The following day was the same, I chalked it up as he must have had a great time playing and was still exhausted. The next day he was extremely ill, coughing, diarrhea and weak so I rushed him to the Vet. Their diagnosis was an upper respiratory infection a fever and Kennel cough. My pup is completely vaccinated and was perfectly healthy when dropped off. I understand things happen, but this was infuriating to me. When I picked him up I was curious why he was just handed to me and shuffled me out the door, now I understand why. That same attitude was received when I called to inform them of his condition. The young lady just said "I'll tell the owner and hung up" and that was it. I wanted to like this place, but on top of their boarding fees, I now have medical bills due to their facility and lack of action when he was clearly sick while there, due to an illness he contracted while there, and hopefully, he recovers soon. The photo attached is him once loaded in the car after picking him up. Clearly not a 6 mo old Boston excited to see me after a week away. I am beside myself, and angry to say the least.

His paws look great and used to drag in messes, now they don't finally!! and look clean. They were so nice and treated Aspen as I would. It's taken me almost three years to write this review…read more My beloved cat Sophie had been sick for a long time and I thought she just had food allergies or something. I took her to a local vet here in Laveen a handful of times and they'd barely touch her because she was kind of wild at the vet, like most cats. Anyway, she started to deteriorate quickly and finally I made the longer drive to this vet. Within seconds, he felt her body and told us she had a tumor. An xray and ultrasound I requested confirmed this and unfortunately she was not able to be saved. Like any pet owner I was full of grief, guilt and regret. To this day I feel responsible and wish I had taken her to a CAT VETERINARIAN from the start, specifically Larkspur Cat Clinic. I still have three cats and despite the long drive, under no circumstances will I ever take my cats anywhere else for anything. This guy knows cats. He's like a cat mechanic/whisperer. How could he find out what was wrong with Sophie by feeling her body for a few seconds while this other vet couldn't after multiple visits? To me there's no excuse and I know it can be complicated but they could've recommended she go somewhere else if they didn't know!!! If you love your cat, like REALLY love your cat (as I did and do), GO HERE AND DON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE. I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this clinic. I brought my sick kitten in with…read moresignificant respiratory symptoms, congestion, conjunctivitis, a tongue ulcer, and concerning breathing issues. During the appointment, the veterinarian and I discussed starting an antiviral medication. However, when I was checking out, the technician refused to ask the veterinarian about the antiviral we had discussed, leading to an argument at a time when I was already extremely worried about my kitten. What was most concerning was that my kitten was mouth breathing and acting ill and withdrawn. Rather than leaving reassured, I left feeling that my concerns were being dismissed. As a pet owner, I should not have to argue to have a question relayed to the veterinarian, especially when my kitten's condition appeared serious enough that I was considering taking her directly to an emergency veterinary hospital from the clinic. I also found it difficult to communicate with the veterinarian, who often spoke with his eyes closed, making the interaction feel detached and unengaged. When a young kitten is declining, owners need clear communication, responsiveness, and a willingness to promptly re-evaluate when concerns persist. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. Overall, I left feeling unheard, frustrated, and lacking confidence in the care my kitten received. I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience.
