The class was taught by the owners Kai and Tom and they provided useful hands on tips on how to defend yourself against an attacker. Hopefully I will not have to use these moves in real life, but I left the class feeling confident in what I had learned. Apparently the gym holds these classes once a month and usually on a Saturday. The owners mentioned that they also teach karate and personal training both black belts. This gym is located near TU next to Tally's and mammoth comics so not hard to find at all!

The charge was made the day before I came in. They are refusing to reimburse the funds. Probably not illegal, but certainly not the kind of place I'd ever want to do business with again. But the warning signs were there from the beginning. They don't publish their prices on their website. In fact, you don't learn about the costs until you bring your child in for a sample class. At this sample class they tell you that you get a special deal on signing up if you do it by the end of that day. Again, none of illegal, but certainly not transparent and I experienced it as manipulative. Another parent told me that when the aftercare program shut down b/c of Covid they refused to refund her the money she had prepaid to sign up for a full school year. The cost of the program was significant to my family--if I'd known about their questionable practices I never would have signed up, so I want all of you to have all the information before you decide to do business with them.
