Ugh. This place. Their prepared foods are pretty terrible. Worst seaweed salad I've ever tasted in my life. Really dry falafel. Greasy dumplings. Flavorless tofu. Just really disappointing. I think I went in here with the wrong expectations. I thought this was more of an actual grocery store, rather then just a place to get some oddities. 37 minutes to get a chicken sandwich. 2 customers seated when I walked in. They waited 20 minutes for lentil soup. Typical South Beach stupidity and mediocrity. A total of 5 employees, far outnumbering customers. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich on sprouted grain roll. Clueless woman behind counter. When I looked at the total she rang up, it was $2 + tax more than the price of the chicken, She said "You ordered the gilled salmon" . I was the only customer ordering, there was no one else. Refunded the overcharge. However another woman, whose position was to walk around and do nothing apparently, repeatedly kept refering to my order as salmon. When the cook person started assembling the sandwich he was using bread not a roll. The walk around woman said that was a roll. I mean, really........ Apparently this cook type person can only do one thing at a time, no multitasking here! A man was standing in the doorway, I thought waiting for his order. I told him it would be a hlaf hour wait. Turns out he is a manager type person. When I told him of my experience from the moment I walked in he seemed nonpulsed, however did offer that he would speak to the owner. Said owner, who has had this space for 20+ years, always did hire stupid, lazy, arrogant young people. Many bad experiences with his staffs over the decades. In it's previous incarnation, there were five yound men behind the counter, who knows why so many, and I told them the refrigerator was covered with dead baby roaches. They shook thier shoulders and turned away. When my sandwich was finally assembled after 37 minutes, the walk around do nothing woman handed it to me, I took it and said nothing, and she says "you're welcome." Unbelievable. The service at Apple A Day is consistently bad, but their daily soup is consistently delicious. As are their salads and sandwiches - delicious. The shelves in the store are 25% bare and I'm surprised they are even still in business. I'm all about supporting local businesses, but when the people behind the counter would rather watch me scald my hand off then offer to help me with my soup, it really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. This is and has been my favorite cafe for a while now. I'm a vegan and this cafe has tons of options for me and they are all delicious. The açaí bowl is definitely a go to for me-- probably the best in the city . They also provide parking which is super convenient because many places don't have parking space and if you live in Miami you know it's a mission to find a parking spot. This is a well run establishment. Apple A Day is a welcome spot tucked just two blocks from the end of Lincoln Road with some "clean" eating options that you just can't find on the strip. We had wraps and smoothies for a total of $35 -- mine was chicken with a spinach wrap and a strawberry-orange type smoothie -- the food was clean and filling. They also have a few shelves of items (supplements, snack bars, etc) and coolers full of drinks. Bathroom is clean and there is enough seating for about 15 total people inside. read more

I don't usually write reviews but felt compelled after coming here again. I recently moved to Miami and was looking for a healthy cafe with good acai bowl and smoothie options. I tried Apple A Day a few weeks ago after hearing they had some of the best acai in town. Not only was it fantastic enough to make me need to come back again later that week, but I found out their restaurant food menu was equally as delish (tuna poke bowl and lentil soup were suuuper yummy!).
