I tried Safron last night after a long day of travel. I got it to-go and waited about 10 minutes for me Greek salad and lamb sandwich. The sandwiches use pita bread and the wraps use tortillas. I got mine with pita, which was nice and soft. Tithe sandwich had bite-sized lamb chunks, which were very good and seasoned well. The fries are a "pass" for me. I don't like bartered fries. The Greek salad was a Greek salad, which is what I expected and wanted, so no complaints! Walking distance from my hotel, friendly staff. It's a very small hole in the wall, more for takeout, but they have a few tables and chairs outside that make the perfect people watching while you eat, that's free entertainment! We ordered the falafel plate to share and it was plenty. There's rice was absolutely delicious and the falafel were made on the spot served perfectly warm and crispy. Pro tip: ask for their house made hot sauce, it will rewire your brain. That was the perfect touch to our platter. Next time would LOVE to order the falafel wrap which comes with fries. The service is great, food supa fresh -- good spot to people watch if you're sitting outside [right next to the gay club Twist so you're sure to see some characters if you go at the right time! Feb 2024. Visiting from Vegas. This spot is legit. Had the lamb kabob plate with fries/salad/warm pita bread. The lamb was perfectly medium and juicy with no gamy taste at all. Tender and juicy and flavorful! The tahini matched perfectly with the lamb. Pita bread was also very good. Fresh soft and not overly bready. First time here and will definitely be back when in Miami. An unassuming little restaurant with great food! During my visit to Miami, I asked my boyfriend what he wanted for dinner tonight. We decided on Mediterranean. While searching Doordash, I came across Safron and placed a pickup order. I ordered hummus, stuffed grape leaves, fries, Greek salad, and x3 falafel sandwiches. After placing my order, I immediately called the restaurant to see if they could put spicy/hot sauce in the bag. We made it to the restaurant and parked in front in a non-parking spot. My boyfriend waited in the car while I ran in. I came up to the counter and was met with friendliness. Not only did they remember to put the spicy sauce (it's a chili paste) in the bag, the lovely lady at the register told me, unprompted as I retrieved my bag, that the spicy sauces were in there. The falafel sandwich was jam packed with flavor and was very filling, the hummus was a delicious classic, the stuffed grape leaves were super tasty both with and without the tzatziki sauce, the fries while a little mushy after transit still hit the spot, and the Greek Salad was refreshing and satisfying. Located in the heart of south beach- quick and delicious Mediterranean wraps. We ordered the lamb shish wrap and the falafel wrap- both 10/10 when it comes to the flavor. We got an appetizer to share of the shepard's salad- very good but definitely on the onion side so shy away if you don't like onions. Very lemony and tasty. Service was quick and our food was out in a timely manner. They brought extra chili paste out quickly too. I prefer to go here earlier as it is in south beach and on the street if you eat outside. Spent $20 for the gyro platter and it was the driest meat I've ever had. I've always felt the gyro meat is typically good. You cant really go wrong. But the meat was just thin and dry. I didnt really like it. Run down interior with barely any seating. Customer service. Not the best. I would say they have other options which were definitely more affordable than a lot of food in the area if you get a sandwich or something. Came here with my family for dinner. We had hummus with pita and it was very good. Tasted fresh and homemade. We had the gyro sandwiches with fries. The sandwich was a little dry but overall good when you add extra sauce. I would recommend the chicken instead of the lamb options as they tasted fresher. We ended up getting the doner gyro platter and the meat was cold, which would be understandable as to why it was dry. Nancy was very nice and accommodating. A hummus, babaganoush, tahini or spicy sauce would've been better IMO. The rice too should've been bit spiced for flavor. At $17 a plate, it isn't cheap but considering this is a late night spot with nice sit down service, it's not a bad option at all. Their meat options might be better, just couldn't get to try them. I haven't had Safron in a long time but I was so pleasantly surprised when I ordered a late night delivery recently. I ordered the falafel platter with a side of fries. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I love their falafel and rice. Their fries were so crispy and delicious. The only thing lacking a bit was the salad. It's was quite soggy and lacked in flavor and but everything else more than made up for it. The falafel platter also didn't include a tzatziki sauce in the platter despite advertising it online which was a shame as I know their sauces are great. I'm a big fan of their hot sauce as well. Really brings all the flavors together! The portions are generous and the pita bread is tasty. Looking forward to ordering again soon! read more
