I made the mistake of purchasing an apple giftcard as I thought it would put money on my apple pay, when in reality it went onto my apple account balance and I could only spend it on apple products. Though I lost this money for good when a lovely employee got someone from the itunes department to un-redeem my gift card. Being from the Silicon Valley I would expect apple to have a well rounded group of stores around the nation but the Brandon location really made me think different. Poor customer service. I had an appointment and was told to wait for a technician. After about 45mins of waiting and inquiring with an employee what was the hold up. Another employee told me that the only employee trained to work on computers had been on lunch for 45 mins and would not cone back for another 30 mins. From the minute we walked into the store, the service was great. Someone immediately asked if we needed help and put our name in the queue. A few minutes later someone came out looking for us. We told him that we wanted a new iPhone for my wife. He helped us pick out the correct one then turned us over to another person who swapped the Sim card and did the initial set up. While it was downloading all the data, another person installed the glass screen cover and case and took our payment information. Everyone was professional, respectful, and friendly. I have used Apple products and shopped at stores all over Florida, Georgia, Washington DC and Southern California. This one was worst. Staff were not knowledgeable on products and did everything possible to discourage me from using my Apple Care to fix an iPhone. Never had this experience previously and traveling five times (+400 miles) for poor service was too much. Last time, I drove an additional 17 miles to International Mall in St Petersburg and got service plus adequate information to buy new iPhone. My I Mac was damaged in a lightning storm. Would not boot all the way up. Made appointment over phone. 7 days later my wife takes it in to be fixed. Guy tells her the only thing they can do is erase the hard drive and reload the software erasing my data. That was not an option. Was directed to a place that could retrieve my data for a mere 300-500 dollars, my expense. Then bring it back. Pathetic, so called repair service and absolute SCAM! Brought in an iPad with a screen that wouldn't come on, but you could hear it that it was working. The "technician" that spoke with me said there is nothing they can do but sell me a new one. Yet, the "specialist" Didn't Even Attempt TO TURN ON THE IPad. Im assuming he has a chip in his forehead that allows him to run diagnostics on technical devices. Of course the new iPad that they were willing to sell to me was low in stock, to be exact, I had so much luck that day because they had only 1 in stock. I said I'll have to think about it since I do not have an immediate need for a new iPad. The man with the diagnostic super powers continued to pressure me into a purchase and when I declined he asked me to sing in to my Apple account so he can remove the broken iPad of my account, AND DEMANDED THAT I TURNOVER THE BROKEN DEVICE TO HIM!!! I said "NO" and walked out! I left the mall and went straight to the local cell/iPad repair shop and my IPad was fixed in 5 seconds for FREE! The screen need it to be tighten! I had to return an iMac to the Apple store in Brandon. Every time I go in they are kind and helpful. They were pretty busy when I was initially in the store earlier and I was kind of disappointed with the service but they replaced my Mac no questions ask. The Brandon location is smaller than most stores. they cater mostly to MacBook, iPhone and iPod customers. Last I checked they only had one Mac Pro machine on showcase. The staff is very friendly, though at peak times you may have to put forth some effort to get someone's attention. It can get chaotic at peak times. Since I'm a regular customer, many of the employees know me by name, and are familiar with my computing situation. I've attended some of their training sessions which were of moderate utility. Genius Bar service usually has a short wait, and I was happy with the repair turnaround time. the best thing is how willing the employees are to learn with you and share their tips and tricks with you. read more

Don't ever think you will be able to walk in and get a simple question answered. Once you get an appointment which is usually 1-2 days the service is average, they seem to always be overwhelmed and undermanned. We have had 7 appointments for different products, each time the reps seem like they have worked all day and wish they worked at some tech startup. The worst visit was actually when we had a manager and we were the guinea pig for her to learn the new scanner and system it took over two hours. It's sad to watch a company with such a rich customer base not be able to provide great customer experience or customer service. read more

I took my iMac in for repairs through Apple Care. Everyone was so nice and the manager, Marshall, took care of everything. I will never buy a PC again. The level of care was amazing. I did wait 10 minutes or so for my first appointment and there was some waiting for the repair, but the manager more than made up for any issues I had. I am very pleased with the whole experience. I'm a fan of the Apple Stores. I frequent the one in International Plaza, but for some reason I feel compelled to come to this one to see if they have different stuff. Sounds silly since both are Apple Stores, but there are subtle differences in their accessories stock. Every time we buy Apple stuff, we spend a fortune in accessories. For my MacBook Air I found a really nice leather sleeve that the International Mall store didn't have in stock. So that made the trip from Tampa worth it! read more

I can't say enough about their customer service. It was a Thursday that my Macbook Pro stopped turning on, so I set up an appointment at the Genius bar that same day. I was early, so as I was waiting I took a seat, er stool, and felt welcomed and well looked after by the employees there. Everything was super positive and light where it could have been headaches and chaos. Once at the Genius Bar the guy who helped me out was amazing-- I work from my computer and so I needed it as soon as possible-- and he worked it out for me to have it back within a day and a half. The lack of professionalism I have experienced here is just appalling. I dropped my device off for a repair and the technician said he would have it done by the end of the day. Two days later I called them to see what was going on and the technician said it would be done by the end of the day. The next afternoon I called again and they still hadn't even touched it, and said it likely wouldn't be done for another couple days. Just ridiculous- don't tell a customer that a repair will be done by the end of the day and then not follow through. The employees (not geniuses, because clearly they aren't) do not know how to manage expectations properly and make promises they cannot keep in the hopes that the next time you call, it'll be someone else answering the phone and then they don't have to deal with you. Save your time and money and visit the Apple store in the International Mall. I will be sending an email to corporate outlining my experience here with the names of all the technicians that made undue promises. read more

Terrible customer service! The manager refuses to listen to you as a customer. Only to pretend and act like it didn't happen. Had to call apple support after three bad experiences at this store. I had special notes in my apple care+ account to replace my phone without a charge and they refused not to and then tried to charge me $105 for the service. I had to argue with the manager three times to check the notes on my account. After the third time he then gave the order only repair my device which that was done poorly as well. The glass is not inside the casing it is lifted slightly above the aluminum casing. I do not feel comfortable speaking to management at this store ever again. In fact I probably won't have the desire to walk in there due to these experiences. read more

I visited the store with my daughter who was having issues with her iPad. When I mentioned that I was also having trouble with mine opening pages randomly and enlarging and then closing on its own he suggested I make an appointment also. We live in Brooksville so it's over an hour away. I didn't think there would be anything available, but there was an availability in a couple of hours. I walked in and came to the counter where 4 employees were standing and none of them even said anything to me and proceeded to walk away from the counter while I was still standing there. Like I hadn't even been greeted. Then when I found a girl just wondering around touching the different phones in the store I told her I needed a tech to look at my phone. I made my first trip to the Apple Store in Brandon, Florida on Saturday February 6. It was about 10:30 AM and already the store extremely busy. My purpose of the trip was to purchase a MiniDisplay-to-VGA adapter so that I may connect my Samsung SyncMaster 192N to my new MacBook Pro. I found the adapter, picked it out, and carried it over to one of the MacBook Pro's on display so that I can make sure that I was getting the right item. I wanted to compare the connectors. That is when I heard a bellowing from one of the blue-shirt Apple Store employees (the name was not visible on the badge on his lanyard): "Whoa Whoa Whoa, Chief! What are you doing there?" I felt belittled, inferior, out-of-place and unwelcome. "I just wanted to make sure that I was getting the right adapter." "Leave the figuring out to the experts. When you are finished you can check out with me." Wow - I had never been treated with such rudeness and arrogance in my life. I had half a thought to place the adapter back on the rack, and thought about taking my business to the Apple Store in Tampa. Reason took over and I realized that the money from the purchase made was going to Apple either way, so I held onto the adapter and browsed around a little more, making sure not to cross paths with the Apple Nazi I came into contact with earlier. When I was ready to check out, I found another blue t-shirt-clad Apple employee. The next fellow was a bit more pleasant, but the arrogance was still apparent. The name on the badge attached to his lanyard was not visible either. I thought about asking to speak to a manager, but I can tell that they were extremely busy and I probably would not get his/hers complete attention, so I passed. The checkout process was pretty cool. He scanned it with his modified iPod, swiped my card, and put my purchase in a cool draw-string Apple bag. No cash registers. Very elegant. My online experience with Apple has been wonderful. My first Apple Store experience at the Brandon Mall was far from it. I hope this arrogance is not present in all Apple Stores. Should further needs arise, I will probably just stick to Apple.com or other third party online retailers. I will now go into Apple Stores with the anxiety of going into my local Wal-Mart.
