We've been driving the same car for almost 20 years so it was time for an update. My girlfriend and I popped in to check out the 2027 model Bolt and give it a test drive. Lou Villarrubia greeted us and was extremely helpful and enthusiastic. No hard sells, no push to upgrade or finance anything. He pretty much asked us what we wanted and took care it all without issue and didn't seem disappointed in any of our choices. We ended up trading in our 2002 Taurus and leaving with the Bolt the next day. Everyone else working the area was also very friendly and helpful. Another thing I'd like to mention. There are still some places where things related to cars, tech or construction or still treated as if it's strictly man territory. Where the workers treat the women customers like second class citizens. This was definitely not the case here. My girlfriend is the primary driver, researcher and purchaser of the car. I was just there for moral support. Lou made sure to address all her concerns and treat her like a value customer. In fact, he even called us to let us know we accidently left a pair of glasses in our old trade in. Totally recommend this place. It was truly a pleasant buying experience. read more

If you look at all the reviews, you'll see that they seem to be either 5's or 1's ... people are either very happy or very dis-satisfied. We had a great experience working with Jenny in Sales and another employee back in Parts. Both were 5 star employees who helped us get where we needed to be. We have used Apple Chevrolet before, but haven't had a car or needed service from them for something like 15 years. So this was our reintroduction, and it was a pleasant one. Apple is the nearest Chevy dealer to our home and we could walk there. So, assuming we could reach a price we agreed with, Apple would be the natural for us. This time we got there, and we purchased a new Silverado. Really happy with Sales and Parts so far. We'll add to the review when we utilize Service in the future. BIG ZERO - Apple Chevrolet Tinley Park Before visiting Apple Chevrolet Tinley Park, I read "The Apple Chevrolet Promise" on their website. It sounds impressive, but based on my experience, it bears little to no resemblance to the way we were treated. My significant other and I visited on Thursday, July 16 to look at one specific vehicle. We were there for over three hours, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. It was one of the hottest days of the year, with extremely poor air quality. During the entire three-hour visit, we were never offered something as simple as a bottle of water, actually I was told where the vending machine was. For a dealership that promises to "treat you like family," that was an odd way to begin our experience. We were greeted by salesman Greg Stern, told him exactly which vehicle we wanted to see, and then went outside. Unfortunately, he didn't know where the vehicle was or didn't even have the keys. He initially pointed us in the wrong direction before eventually locating it. Not exactly the smooth, professional experience we expected. We looked over the vehicle, took it for a test drive, and came back ready to purchase it. We weren't shopping for multiple vehicles--we had already decided this was the one. During the paperwork process, we were asked for information such as employer's address, work phone number, and length of employment before any financing discussions had really taken place. It seemed excessive at that stage. The biggest issue came when we asked about a First Responder Discount. Every dealership we've worked with in the past has recognized first responders in some way. Apple Chevrolet's answer was simply NO. Instead, the owner's son offered four complimentary oil changes. While the gesture may sound nice, we live about 40 minutes away (roughly 19 miles one way) and have no intention of making that drive repeatedly for oil changes. We asked if, instead of the oil changes, they could simply deduct their approximate value from the purchase price. We were told the oil changes were worth about $90 each, or roughly $360 total. We asked if they would simply reduce the price by $360 instead. Again, the answer was no. Keep in mind, we never negotiated the selling price of the vehicle, which was over $51,000 (approximately $55,000 out the door). The deal fell apart by approximately $360. I even asked, "You're willing to lose a $55,000 sale over $360?" The answer was, "Yes." So we left. Three hours wasted. Ironically, one of the promises on Apple Chevrolet's website is to "Always value and respect your time." That certainly wasn't our experience. The following day, the salesman called and asked what it would take to make things right. By that point, the damage had already been done. The experience left such a negative impression that no small concession was going to change our minds. This wasn't about $360. It was about customer service, flexibility, and honoring the spirit of the promises prominently displayed on the dealership's website. If you're a FIRST RESPONDER, don't assume this dealership offers any special consideration. Ask before investing your time. We purchased our vehicle from another dealership that not only honored a First Responder Discount but also completed the entire transaction--from start to finish--in less than two hours. At no point were we asked for unnecessary personal information before the purchase process moved forward. The difference in professionalism, efficiency, and customer service was night and day. Because of our experience, I can honestly say I would never consider doing business with Apple Chevrolet Tinley Park again, nor would I recommend them to family, friends, or fellow first responders. Extremely disappointing experience...the devil himself would have been more accommodating. read more

Took my 2024 equinox in for: back up camera off center, driver seat belt to tight across my lap and right from door rattle. Was told that the back up camera is only a guide. That's how it's made. Told service that the seat belt across my lap becomes way too tight. It only happens on the drivers. They said nothing wrong with it and I should get a seat belt extender. I'm 6 ft, 200 pounds. It does not occur on any other belt in this car or any of my other cars. Told them the Rt frt door rattles. They said to leave the car overnight. Instead of looking at it during the appointment. Oh, by the way, during the first 5 weeks of ownership of this vehicle I bought new from a different dealer, car overheated. read more

It's not often that I don't buy something from someone but still feel obliged to write a review. I have worked with Cinda R. whose The senior sales specialist at the store. I contacted her a few days ago in regards to one of the vehicles she was selling. We worked on the deal and it was fantastic, however, I went with another car as sometimes that's how life works. And although I didn't purchase her car, I had set a deposit down on a vehicle, which she refunded to me immediately. There was no hassling, she was the most professional car sales person I have ever worked with. I know that I will eventually buy a car from her one day, it just won't be today. What a terrific worker though. I wish there were more people like her even at my job. If you're ever in the market for a car, call this lady and she will make things right. read more

Unbelievable, when service writer retires the service department falls apart, that won't even work on your vehicle unless you guarantee them thousands of dollars and on top of that they will not review the service records on the vehicle. Which was only serviced by Apple Chevrolet for all those years the service manager only look at the vehicle for ten minutes and he wanted my whole wallet. After going there year after year and spending any where from 2500.00 to 4500.00 dollars a year on the vehicle every year since it was new and buying parts from them another 600.00 dollars I guess you don't need that business anymore, or the new vehicle that I might buy which I already talk to the sales department so with the conclusion of my last visit and to have the vehicle towed out of there looks like that was the last time I will take or buy a vehicle from Apple Chevrolet, and not buy anymore parts from them, sorry that your mechanic didn't want to get his hands dirty unless I put his first born through Harvard Law School. I brought a Camaro in to be repaired after telling them that the heater was not working; they said bring it in and we'll take a look at it and we'll probably be able to fix it for around $1K. After 3 days, they tell me it's going to cost around $4K to fix it. I was not prepared to spend that kind of money to have it fixed but when I went to pick it up, they charged me $1K to get my car back. All they did was look at it and did not do any repairs on it; even the invoice I received doesn't reflect anything specific. They already knew what was wrong with it; I can't believe they charged me that kind of money for NOTHING! Since when does an estimate cost that kind of money??? read more

Set up an appointment to see a vehicle. When I got there my salesperson was MIA and no one bothered to ask if I needed help. Very unprofessional and when I reached out to the dealer principal I never heard back. Received one text from the salesperson asking if I was still coming in to see the car. Really, when you make an appointment for someone you may want to be there to actually keep the appointment. Bare minimum have someone fill in for you if you are that busy. Purchased two Bolts from Mike Anderson Chevy and it was a pleasurable experience I will be going back there. Only reason I went to Apple is they were the only ones with the exact Blazer EV I wanted in stock. New release so I'm sure Anderson Chevy will get one soon enough. read more

I bought a Certified used car with a one year bumper to bumper warranty. After 6 months the sun roof started leaking. I brought it back to get fixed and they said it was the drain tube that was leaking and they would not cover it. They said it was a "act of god" and not a faulty part. Not sure what that even means? I spoke with Colleen Nihlean the service drive manager and Mark Snyder the fixed operations director and they both said it would not be covered. They said it was going to be $900 to fix it. I gave them some choice words and left. The next day i went to the GMC dealer and got it fixed for $300. This was the third car I bought from them and this happens. Never again.... read more

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!! WOULD GIVE ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE. I live in WI & I purchased a 2015 MB E350 through Apple Chevy on 12/09/2023. The CarFax report was great and according to the dealer, the car passed their inspection. Asked if anything was wrong with the vehicle and was told that the car was perfect. Right after purchasing and driving the car off the lot, I noticed that the headlights were misaligned, the glove box door latch fell off the glove box, the rear driver taillight wasn't functioning, the driver's side control switch for the rear passenger window wasn't functioning and the AC button on the climate control remained on without being able to manually turn off. messaged the manager and sales rep got no response. I took the vehicle to get inspected at the nearest MB dealer near me and was told that aside from those issues, the air dam clips were missing, exhaust had a broken connection & the front engine covers were leaking oil onto the belt drive and alternator. Price breakdown to repair: Left inoperable tail lamp $ 769 Driver's Door master window switch $941 Climate Control Head Unit $1,143 Install missing air dam clips $75 Heal lamps aimed $157 Glove box assembly $ 1,195 Exhaust connection $145 Fix leaking engine covers $1,617 Oh & both front tires were at 2mm from the wear out bars. That was $688 for the tires + $249 for alignment. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS DEALER. THEY ARE CROOKS. I didn't have the $ to fix all the issues, so had to leave the glove box & master window switch for another time. Once again, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING TO THIS DEALERSHIP!!! read more

I dropped my vehicle off for an oil change and a new boot. A porter decided to drive my vehicle through their carwash and didnt close the door all the way, my door and hinges were ripped off in their car wash. The dealship fixed the door but refused to work with me on my bill. I lost my truck for 2 weeks and I lost business from this transaction. The owner refused to work with me on my bill even though I've bought a few vehicles here and bring them all there for service. That's an embarrassing way to run a business and an awful way to treat a loyal customer. read more

Wasted my time coming to this dealership. Was looking to buy a used car and had an appointment with Ken L. Ken gave me the key and went inside. He didn't answer questions. Didn't say anything in reply when I was talking about the concerns I had with the car. I asked for an out the door price which he gave me. I then proceeded to counter offer a negotiated price 15% off the number he gave me. He condescendingly said "no, that's the price it is. Have a good day" shook my hand and shooed us out. I saw his reflection on the way out with the piece of paper with my offer on it. He showed it to his colleague at the front with a smirk on his face. Thanks for making us feel welcomed Ken (not). PS. The car was washed extremely poorly, soap residue all over and the car had a huge nail in one of the tires. It was the first thing we saw. Have been a customer for several years but lately service has been poor. Recently brought my car in for oil change/tire rotation. They made a big deal about inspecting the car BEFORE service, checking for dents, dings, etc..so they wouldn't be held responsible for damages. This should have been a red flag, but I didn't catch it in time and didn't realize until the next day that ALL of the little lug nut caps on my car were missing and there are several deep (down to the metal) scratches on the back end of my SUV (that I surmise) come from their car wash. I know it it too late and it will be a he say/she say argument...so just putting it all out there......Check your car (and make video) BEFORE and AFTER any sevice!!!! read more

We are loyal Chevrolet customers and have brought about 7 cars total. Always take my cars for service at Apple Chevrolet - 8585 West 159 St. In Tinley Park. I know usually it's a lot pricer, but go for the customer service. I go because I feel like the company cares about their customers and gives them the treatment we deserve. Just today I took my car in for service. Needed to pick up my son to school. It's a 5 minute drive from the dealership. For the first time ever. I Ask the service guy if someone could drop me off at my house. No problem. When they called me to pick up my car. I asked them if someone could pick us up. The service guy responded by saying. "this is not a taxi company". I could not believe my ears. Have given them so much money and never have I Ever asked for a ride. One time and I get this type of unacceptable treatment. read more

Got to the location and they said it was out being test driven when actually it was in the show room. After that was established that it wasn't being test driven and we started to look at it then someone walks up and said they just sold it. Twice in less that 10 minutes. But Jim Laas was able to take care of me if such a way that it was a wonderful experience. He made me feel special and very welcome. Major work was covered under warranties some about to run out. Whew! But he threw in some extra stuff and suggested some things to get done in the near future w/out being threatening or pushy. Cashier was super nice and cool too!
