The Apple employee Hillary was great and this review in no way a reflection on her professional and empathetic service. But Apple service policy on the other hand is horrible. I have an obviously defective and possibly dangerous product but instead of just replacing the item (AirPods) I was told by her supervisor to leave the store after 2.5 hours of my time and to "call for support". Why the hell do you have a store with "service". Why would you let a customer with a defective product leave for unhappy with no resolution? I've taken hiking boots with years of wear and tear back to REI for a bad seam and they don't even hesitate to replace the products that represent...this is your product, you should stand behind it 100%. This is definitely making me question my loyalty to your product. read more

My iPhone 7 stopped receiving cellular service due to a mechanical error with the 7's. I made an appointment midday on a weekday and was glad I did because the iPhone 11 was recently released and there was a line wrapped around the inside of the store. When you arrive, there is an Apple employee usually standing at the door who will point you in the right direction or check you in for your appointment. I waited about 25 minutes after my original appointment time before I was seen. They said they would be able to send it off and fix it for free and gave me a loaner phone to use in the meantime, which was wonderful, except about a week later I was notified they would not fix the software error unless I paid $150 first to fix the cracked screen. I don't understand why it was so high when prices are lower elsewhere. I opted for them to send it back broken for free because the price to fix the screen was more than my trade-in value. When the phone arrived a couple days later, I went back into the Apple store without an appointment and I didn't have to wait long to be helped. I traded my cracked screen iPhone 7 in for $50 credit and then purchased a new iPhone 11. They were helpful in the purchase and in setting up the phone. I don't know if they're on commission or just pushy in general, but of course they tried their best to get me to purchase the best phone available. Overall, decent experience. Not happy with Apple and their prices for fixing the phone when it was their malfunction, but the people who worked at the Apple Store itself were helpful. This store needs to learn a lesson from the Chik-Fil-A or In-and-Out Burger order/pick-up line architects. Unless you snag an employee willing to help you, you're standing there waiting for someone to assist you. I had a simple exchange and the employee I asked to help me, after waiting for 19 minutes for someone to offer assistance, was extremely helpful. But there was an elderly couple near me who'd been waiting for 30 (they said) for someone to help them choose a Mac book. Do better for everyone, not just hipsters. read more

I came in to upgrade my iPhone and was greeted by the lovely Brittany who helped ease my anxiety and said I did not have to wait to be seen. She helped with the first step of the upgrade and looking over my contract with AT&T and explained my phone options. I went with the space green iPhone 11 Max Pro and exchanged my rose gold iPhone 8 in for credit. After signing some paper work and paying my balance for the new phone she took me back towards the reps who would assist in transferring my phone data. My phone was behind on iOS updates because ya girl is careless! I was basically stuck in the store for a few hours waiting for the updates to finish and transferring my data. I almost cried and was about to say F it but I persevered! After a Starbucks trip and some questioning of my life choices my data was transferred and I was able to enjoy the rest of the evening. I purchased an iPhone 13 pro, was told once the phone came in that they'd help me set it up and move all items from my 2 phones to my new one. Came to the store to set it up and get everything situated, and they told me that they don't do that at the store the day after I purchased it. Unconstitutional. My wife and I are both vaccinated. Apple's policy is it doesn't matter, everyone in the store had to wear a mask. No other stores were requiring anyone to have a mask on at the Domain but Apple. This is after the Governor of Texas lifted mandates for masks indoors to anyone and said he will fine anyone that does not comply with the no "vaccine passport". No one can be singled out for not having a mask on for service at a business. read more

They would not swap the battery in my iPhone 12 that's under warranty with apple care because it passed their "battery diagnostic test" by 4% before it met the threshold for a warranty swap. Which means I would have had to pay for the battery...when I already pay for apple care. I worked at the Apple Store years ago as an Expert and I promise you I would have never let a customer walk for that not taken care of. Staff waiting at the door to offer assistance. Phone issues, quick & easy troubleshooting & appointment was made. This took about 5 minutes. Came back and staff member was kinda of a dits & probably should have requested someone else as my confidence in her dropped then she reset my phone & I lost everything and my phone still didn't work. Terrible experience, frustrating, should have asked for a manager. My brand new iPhone was possessed. Like making random calls when I wasn't even touching it. Seriously... So I make an appt with the Genius Bar to run diagnostics. Convenient time. I show up early, browse accessories, check in 10 minutes before my appt time. Then I wait. Not too long - they got to me within 10 minutes of my scheduled time. My iPhone is fine, according to their diagnostics. Ummmm...no! So they do special diagnostics in the back. Turns out it was a bad SIM card. Failed 80% of the time in the week I had the phone. What a relief. Easy fix. They installed the new SIM & so far so good. I bought screen protector glass & they installed it with a special machine. Oh so worth it to pay retail for this perfect glass! Overall experience - excellent. It's really a dangerous place if you like apple products. read more

Apple, Apple, Apple...you almost lost me! If it wasn't for Regina, let me say that name again, REGINA, then I likely would have started thinking about making a leap to ChromeOS, *shivers*. I had an issue with my laptop battery and was informed that it needed to be replaced (at my cost) since it was out of warranty. With only 250 cycles on the battery, and Apple claiming that up to 1000 cycles are possible, I was left feeling like I was sold a bad bill of goods. Regina could have blindly followed protocol and simply consoled me after delivering the bad news. But after listening to my vent session, without any pleasantness lost in her tone, she acknowledged my frustration, empathized, and didn't stop working on my behalf to see what could be done. She asked if there were any other issues I had experienced and I told her a minor problem about the keyboard, but thought it was just a fluke. It happened to be a quality recall issue apparently and she said that she could get the keyboard replaced and coincidentally...the battery is attached to it so it would be replaced too. I truly hope all of your staff operate this same way and if they don't...maybe Regina can offer some tips on how to make customers feel like they are genuinely appreciated. Today I purchased what would have been my 5th or 6th iPhone. Unfortunately, when purchased at this location, it's SIM was activated to the wrong phone number by Apple. This took the better part of my day - 5 hours - to resolve. I understand that accidents happen. I'm not so pissed about the SIM mistake. What bugs me is the number of f%#ks given by the employee who handled the return - exactly zero. There was no effort made to understand what happened, or what could be done to prevent this problem from happening to other customers going forward. I have decided it might be time to move on to a different kind of phone. So much for brand loyalty. read more

Trash service. Honestly, complete trash. We spent almost three grand and yet, not one person could be bother to actually sit down and activate the phone we purchased. It was especially fun to see was how people completing the exact same purchase had a dedicated sales rep who sat with them and actually completed the purchase whereas our rep would start and then wander off and come back twenty minutes later, realizing they needed to restart the entire process. We got there at one. We left to get lunch at three since WE WERE STILL NOT DONE, came back, and guess what, THE PHONE WAS STILL NOT ACTIVATED. I wish I could say we were surprised but honestly nope. We did watch four people come in after us, each buy a phone, each activate and move all their data over, and then each leave, happy with their new phone. The best part? The laptop we purchased as well? DOA. Wouldn't work and it took two days of calling AppleCare to have them finally say "welp guess you have to exchange it" shrug emoji. Maybe buy whatever you need online? Maybe just light your money on fire? Just don't come here. Parking was actually the best part since there are so many parking garages all over so at least there is that. read more

Apple Store DOMAIN is the worse location of all time. I do not know where to start. My laptop has been giving me a battery service recommended for a long time now. First, I made an appointment for the Genius Bar (More like Smart-Ass and Arrogant Bar) nothing genius about this location. Let me just say that I live about 90-100 miles outside of Apple Store Domain in Austin. First time was right after a winter storm in Austin. I was able to make an appointment via website with no problem! Apple even gave me a text and email notification confirming my appointment on the day of and when I made the appointment. I went there and they were closed. Apple didn't notify me they were closed. Waste of a drive and time. Second time, I made an appoint few weeks after and they were open. I went through the same thing and this time, they were open. I spoke to the "genius" and told me that they have to ship it out and will take 6-7 days because they have to ship it. I was sort of surprised of that time frame. The Genius said it is because of covid that it'll take that long. He also mentioned that usually, it can take 1-2 hours to replace the battery, which I believe. He also said that he will put a note I the system for my next visit. So, again, frustrated, I drove back another 100 miles back to my home. That's driving 400 miles so far just to, I thought, was my favorite Apple Store. Third time was a charm... I went there again hoping that they can change the battery while I was there because that's the impression that APPLE Geniuses told me. I went there the 3rd time and spoke to XANDER, who is a know it all "Genius." He was even giving his resume on how long he was at Apple, 10, years, working at different locations from Florida to Texas. Do I really care where he worked? I don't give a sh*t at all. What arrogant and Know it all Genius Whatever... He had this attitude basically saying that "I know more than you" kind of attitude. He gave me sooo much info that meant nothing to me! Freakin Nerd! So, I just took my laptop out of there and that was it. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS LOCATION AGAIN! I was giving so many wrong information and such BS and what XANDER said didn't make any sense at all! I have read up on many blogs and forums on this topic and many of them generally said few hours. I wanted to read up on what to expect. Now, when I did look back, it now says 3-5 days on google which must have been revised because I would remember reading that for sure since I did my due diligence extensively because my nightmare came true, dealing with bunch of know-it-alls and my time wasted. I was verbally abused, humiliated, disrespected and ridiculed by a Genius Bar agent and the MANAGER of the store because I was asking questions about my repair. It was first the agent that talked down on me rudely, giving me false statements and acting angry and yelling at me when I asked her questions about it. Then she went to get the manager that came and attacked me. He didn't even ask what was happening and started humiliating me in front of everyone. I was upset and it took me a lot not to yell back at them because I didn't want to be stereotyped as hysterical nor the angry black woman, I asked him to please listen to me and related how everything went down. Thank god there was a lady that saw everything and confirmed how I related the story. As I was talking I could see the manager face change as I guess he understood that I haven't done anything wrong. The agent said "she made a mistake in the diagnosis" which was more of a lie than a mistake since it was written in front of her and that doesn't excuse the way she treated me. I expected and apology and for them to take accountability of their action but they didn't, all they said was we will fix your computer for free" (when I have a 90 days repair warranty). I was in tears and couldn't take it anymore, I grabbed my belongings and left. I really hope apple will do something about this. No one should ever be treated this poorly. read more

What a baffling and terrible customer service experience. My husband and I went in with the intention of purchasing a $3000 iMac and left with nothing. 1. We walked in and waited for about 10 minutes to be helped when I decided to approach someone and asked how we could go about purchasing said product. 2. I was put on a list and given no time frame of when I would be helped. I even explained to the person who put me on "the list" that I knew exactly what I wanted and just needed to pay for it. 3. After 20 minutes of more waiting we ended up leaving. On the way out I genuinely asked an associate if the best way to buy something is to make an appointment and then come pick it up? He told me there are lots of people in there wanting to buy phones and computers and that I needed to be on the list for someone to help me. I can't imagine how many more people have had this experience but I'm guessing it's a lot. All I would ask is that this Apple store get some form of organization or open another location in the Austin area. read more

Ashley at Apple Domain was just fantastic. Came in to check about my iPhone battery giving me a service message, and Ashley diagnosed my phone and got my iPhone in to work on. Came back after an hour and she recognized me and checked on my phone, it showed that it wasn't quite done so she said "wait a minute " went back to the service area, knocked some heads around (okay I'm not sure about that part ) came back with my finished phone. You might say I'm having a bit of bad luck. How does one generally careful person manage to smash the face of not 1 but 2 expensive electronic devices and puncture a tire on my first-new-car-in-10-years vehicle in the span of 24 hours? Maybe the universe is trying to remind me who's in charge.... Living without my phone or tablet for more than a day is unthinkable -- I just started reading a great book on Kindle and as a mom to a precious snowflake who is often involved in daredevil stunts, I'm always expecting a call from school that I should meet someone at the ER. Now I could have gone to one of those cheapo independent places that offer quick repair of cracked screens for cut-rate prices, and I might have done so except my phone wasn't old enough to risk voiding the warranty. Plus, I worry about sketchy dudes having access to my personal data. No problem, I thought. Just make an appointment for the Genius Bar and get'er done. I got online to make the appointment around 11am on Wednesday and there were plenty available for the same afternoon and evening. I set mine for 4:20p (heh heh) and listed my desired services: 1. Replace cracked iPhone 6 screen; 2. Exchange sim card into my older iPhone so I have something to use during the repair; and 3. Replace cracked iPad Air screen if possible. Around 2:30, I received a email telling me that my appointment was moved to 4:40p; no biggie, but I was glad I happened to check my email and find out about the change. Like a good little Apple customer, I did as advised and backed up all my data for both devices and headed over with extra time to deal with Domain parking shenanigans. When you come in the door, the Apple staffer (they wear green shirts at the moment) asks what you want and directs you to the back to check in with the service coordinator with the blue iPad. That person confirms your appointment and tells you to have a seat until your Genius comes to get you. At that point, you meet several other customers who seem to have your exact same appointment time -- uh oh! Luckily, in my case, I only had to wait about 10 minutes past my scheduled time, and the Genius (a sweet, cool chick) was able to quickly assess my situation, offer options, switch out my sim card, take payment, and give me a pickup time of 3 hrs later. Sad trombone, there was no salvaging the 3 yr old iPad (they don't replace screens on those), but my phone was as good as new and ready when promised for a reasonable price (compared to getting a new smartphone) of $109. Thanks, Apple Store! Now if only I could get my poor tire fixed that hassle-free. read more

I walked in to the Apple store with a broken phone and in a really bad mood. I was a brat to the poor guy that tried to help me and got refereed to someone else. I was a brat to him as well, my whole world was crashing down around me because my home button fell off my iPhone. Okay back to reality .... I was highly irritated. I was told I could make an appointment and return to the store at 1:30 and they would take care of my issue then.Keep in mind they had just opened. The thought of having to return to the Domain just made me more irritated. The employee noticing my dismay said that if I stayed at the store they would put me on a list and work me in. I reluctantly said okay then walked over to the computers and began reading the news. I kid you not, they walked up to me less then 10 minutes later and told me they were ready to fix my phone. I was told I would need the whole screen replaced. They looked up my account and noticed that I had not filed any claims on the phone and checked to see if it was damaged by water. Then the employee smiled and said that the repair was a 150 dollars but they were going to fix it for FREE. That is when the smile appeared on my face. My phone fixed in house for FREE is exactly what I wanted to hear. I went next door to the Steeping Room and had a nice brunch. With good news, caffeine and a nice meal I returned to the store a much nicer person. I showed my invoice and was quickly seated at the return counter. Out walked yet another employee with my phone. Completely fixed and returned to me with a smile all in about an hour. I have to admit they took great care of me even though I was a brat. They gave me great customer service and they were professional the entire time. WHICH I know was a little difficult because "I" was being difficult. I think this speaks loudly of their care and concern for their customer and of their product. I have to give them credit. Thank you Apple for taking such good care of me! read more

I am so unimpressed with the staff at this store! Staff is what makes an Apple store, because I can purchase the apple products online. The reason I go into the store is to ask someone questions and I expect answers because it's a specialty store.... they should know their products! I walked in Sunday at noon and went straight to the iPad display. I asked for some assistance because I had some specific questions. Someone got to me in less than 5 minutes and I assumed she'd have the answers I needed. I wanted some information about hooking an iPad up to a projector and speakers and what cables I would need. She looked at me with a blank stare. She then went to the apple store online and started looking at cables there. She pointed to one set of cables, but I then asked about other sets of cables (on the apple website) and what the difference was. She had no clue. I asked if someone else would and she wandered off. She came back with another person who also didn't know any of the answers to my questions. They said that there are iPad experts and they were all in the back. I asked if I could speak to one and she said "they aren't on the floor right now, so no". So they are there but they are being held hostage in the back room? Shouldn't there be an expert for each type of product available to speak to people? I told her I'd just have to ask at another store and she agreed that would be best. In the end I had a big headache, finally we got in and I complained about it to one staff. Worst experience I have ever had at an Apple Store Let me say also that ever time I go to the Domain location half of the employees gross me out, they look unkept and that bothers me (hate to sound like a jerk but it's honesty) I will keep this short since I have already wasted enough time on this So I broke my phone, the screen popped out, it's well outside of warranty which I knew but wanted to see if they could simply reseat the screen. So I make my appointment show up and wait....... When the apple person shows up and I show him the phone he looks it over we talk and he takes it back to the techs The guy comes back and says I need a whole new phone they "won't" fix this because the home button fell out After about 5 minutes of me more or less trying to understand how I could walk in with a destroyed screen and they would replace the screen but since a button was gone I needed a whole new phone. Now I get it that they can't put the screen back in but to tell me they won't replace it seemed kind of crazy. So I asked for a manager The manger said they would fix it if I wanted but I should really get a new phone. This location is always VERY crowded. I recommend that you first call Apple's toll free number to see if they can help you. We took our iPhone in for repair due to a few glitches. We checked in and waited about 45 minutes before being able to speak with anyone. The tech helped with a few of the problems. And the tech scheduled a follow up call to our home later in the day to make sure all was well with our cellphone. Next time I'll call the toll free number or check YouTube self help videos before going to a crowded Apple store. But if you don't mind a really long wait, stop by and check out the store. read more

I came in yesterday and knew exactly what I wanted. Instead of helping me I was put into a queue and asked to wait 10-15 minutes. After an hour and a half I was guided through all of their products and accessories and tried to be talked out of what I really wanted. In the end, they misinformed me on being able to trade in my old phone and it required me to come back the next day rather than trade it in. I was told by the manager of the the store, one of many, that I could just walk in and they would take me with the next associate. 45 minutes into my second day, I'm still waiting. FIRST: Never, and I do mean NEVER, visit this location on the weekend - it's a complete madhouse. We waited almost two hours just to see a technician to have him send the computer off. SECOND: If you ignore the warning above, and visit on the weekend (especially if it's warm outside) YOU ASKED FOR IT! To be completely honest, these guys do a pretty good job all things considered. It's a high volume business and they deal with a lot of entitled jerks. Get over it - everyone in line has an issue just as critical as yours. read more

I came in to get a new iPhone since I was having issues with my other one. Turns out there was a hardware issue on my older phone, and I was able to get a brand new iPhone 11. THANK YOU WARRANTY! Anyway, my Apple Rep was Kaitlin, and she was fantastic. Super knowledgeable, and guided me through the entire process. I was able to get my new iPhone set up within 30 minutes and I was done. They've got some new procedures in place due to COVID-19, so they will NOT let anyone in without an appointment. When I booked my appointment, they were booking other appointments over a week out. They take your temperature at the door, and you must wear a mask to enter. Everyone was socially distancing upon entry, and every customer had their own table with their Apple Rep. I must say, it was actually quite nice not having people in there just browsing around because you know Apple stores are always a nightmare to get around in when it's busy! They have a great procedure in place to make sure everyone is safe. See you next time, Apple! read more

FRAUD COMPANY!! Beware on warranty and repairs!!!Have apple warranty, keyboard broke, they fixed and then returned laptop back with hairline cracks on bottom of screen during repair process which they admitted to and say it happens when they replace keyboard. Apple said they'd fix it in 3-5 days. 7 days later I call, they say they want MONEY from me for THEM breaking it and it still has not been fixed. 3 hours deep in being transferred around on the phone today, promised I'd be called back Also which I had to call them, which they did not call back. After 3 hours they said they'll fix it now for free and they apologize. FYI they charged my bank account 5 months ago randomly out of fault they messed up on repair number when they received my product (their fault they admitted to) 1100$ because they had my card information without my permission to save OR charge and never returned my money. 6 senior advisors later, 3 customer relations all the way up to senior (I got to know half the staff in corporate apologizing saying they'd fix) Ended up having to do a charge back after they quit taking my calls/gave up returning my money. After I did chargeback 45 days later they then sent an email (Sarah) saying she'd love to fix it now. LOL! (they did ring one single ring as I saw the call and no way could anyway answer within 1 second and hung up immediately and this has happened before on a different profile, 5x to be exact, it's a pattern of them claiming they called) Be ready to be lied to by the little people, taken advantage of on the mid levels and Apologized to at senior level admitting fault but with broken solutions that they do not follow thru on for weeks n weeks n weeks! Don't be surprised when they ask for money on your warranties and repairs that you paid for! They'll fix it if you know your contract/rights as paying consumer and escalate it with hours of work!
