As another reviewer has said, its worth the drive to avoid this apple store at the Flatiron Crossing Mall. I've been to this particular store about a dozen times over several years and I can say with confidence that a bad customer experience is by no means an aberration. For a while I gave this store the benefit of the doubt, assuming that you couldn't generalize one bad experience to the store as a whole. That assumption has been proven wrong every. single. time. Technicians are slow and do the bare minimum. Other reviewers have gone into plenty of detail with respect to the specifics of their customer service (or lack thereof) so I won't get into that. My impression is that the reasons for this level of bullshit customer service is a combination of poor morale combined with a toxic culture of employees not having a shred of respect for customers. Their tone is unquestionably condescending - as if their attention is some sort of gift to its technically unsophisticated customers. I get it - it's so "hilarious" when someone comes in and doesn't know how to backup their phone. Or how customers need to "chill out" and not be so frustrated about 30 min. delays. It's not like these people have professional jobs, families, or any number of time-sensitive commitments... My estimate is that (conservatively speaking) about 4 out of 5 employees will leave you unbelievably frustrated. Maybe 1 of the 5 will be willing to do whatever they can to help cause they're new to the job. As far as whether that enthusiasm will last - I'd give it a month tops. And that's just referring to the attitude. Competency is its own category. I saw one reviewer who suspected that the delays were intentional as an opportunity to push products. Maybe. But as far as I know, they're not working off commision. I think the delays are really because they just don't care. These immature, lazy, entitled group of children are the most vile people to work with - and I say that as a millenial. As I said, competency is an entirely separate conversation. Several months ago I walked in to quickly ask how to use PIP on the iphone (a relatively sophisticated question imo). The employee just said I don't know and then asked other employees who also didn't know. They looked it up online but when they couldn't find answers they suggested it's probably not a thing and left it at that. I later did my own research and apparently it's not possible on iphones, only ipads. Looking back, I shouldn't have been surprised. In college, I had a friend who worked as an apple technician and frequently said that most employees have no idea what they're talking about beyond the most generic of questions. As for any problems with your device - their protocol is to run a diagnostic and if it comes out clean you're imagining it. If not, the repair will cost you big time. I'll leave it at this: My sister works at apple headquarters as a developer. I have nothing against apple as a company (other than the ridiculous pricing) and have a tremendous amount of respect for them. This branch, however, is reliably horrendous. For repairs, go to FixAndCell. The reviews are exceptional and will always cost you less than the apple store. And when it comes to questions or needing someone to validate your problems - forget it. I went into the apple store to buy a new ipod usb cord because my puppy decided to chew it up. I walked in on a dead tuesday after work. Four associates were just sitting around talking and they took offense to me asking where the cord I needed was. After I found it, i spent a good 15 minutes waiting at the only register and no one was there to help me. Finally, someone showed up and told me to go over to the group of employees that I first encountered and ask them to ring me up. I walked over and asked them and the person who I needed to help me said he was on break and walked away. Points of my story: unfriendly, lazy employees, TERRIBLE customer service. read more

My iPod a few weeks ago went from charging full on tilt to maybe sucking up 15-20% of a full charge. Since I got this in September right before Apple made the decision to roll their max capacities back to 120GB. I was understandably distressed. Tried all kinds of combinations and none got the charge started (except 1, I later found out)...so since it was still under warranty, I went to the Apple Store. BEWARE: you cannot just walk into an Apple Store and get technical support on the spot: you have to make an appointment at something called their "Genius Bar". Maybe everyone and their dog knows this by now, I didn't. Vaguely irritating, but since Flatirons is just 5-7 mins down the road from me, not a huge biggie. Note you can also go to Apple's website and make your appt *there* as well, thus saving you a trip. Came in today, asked by a sales drone if they could help, I said "no" and blew by. :) Asked by another cute sales drone if I had an appointment and said "yes, at the Genius Bar", beelining for the Genius Bar with meaningful strides. Well, apparently I had to "check in" with her first. Really, I can't do that at the Genius Bar itself? Sneakers brake, do a whirl that would have done Michael Jackson proud, lock eyes...and smile. I let her off easy. ;) She asks me if I've ever done this before, and I tell her no. She then leads the way with meaningful strides, and faces away from me and starts talking...in a store that is already swarming full of people 1 hr after opening. I stop her and lock eyes and tell her "I can't hear you very clearly at all when you're walking away in front of me and talking, there's too much other noise". She immediately gets apologetic and I lock eyes with her again, not smiling this time. She gets very apologetic. I smile and say "it's ok, not your fault" - even though they were her actions. She gives me a dazzling smile and I'm thinking "Yeesh. Is this how they train all their sales people?" Which is why I axe off a star. Get to the Genius Bar and get right down to business; the guy asks me if I've tried different plugs, tried plugging into PC, and so on. Yes. Well did I try a different cord? I think and I am not absolutely sure I did. Well he tests it, and lo and behold, it's *not* my battery on the iPod that tanked, nor was it the electronics itself, it was my (third party) charger. How a rarely used charger goes from being able to charge 1 day and not the next time, it's beyond me. But I make up my mind I'm not going to f**k around next time and promptly plunk down $30 for Apple's unremarkable, but apparently working, charger. And it's guaranteed for a year. And I'm keeping that receipt. So, nutshell: tech support? Pretty spot on. Sales people? Not the sharpest cookies in the world -- especially when it gets busy. And that store always seems busy. So you better lock eyes with them if you want good service. read more

So day was the launch day for Snow Leopard. I knew it was coming, but didn't know when. Today, my ipod (Gen 5) with my lovely, 80 gigs of music...stopped producing sound. In the middle of a song. Now, I'm highly frazzled lately as the only time I spend NOT in the hospital (My Mom is having a stem cell transplant to treat her cancer, I'm her primary care giver as my Dad is disabled and cannot do the things she needs) is for food, and occasional trips home to get different clothes...and maybe, just maybe, sleep. Kimberly + No music + little time to fix it = ready to buy a new ipod...IF it can't be fixed. I go into the store and WHAM. Jason B, concierge, says hello, listens to my issue and says he can't do anything. (It's a launch day, there are no genius-support people there (I think he meant to say "available"), no one I can talk to, he doesn't know anything about the ipod, etc... I ask a variety of questions, like... "Do you have an estimated price list for repair to help me make a decision on whether I should wait and see if it can be fixed, or if I should just buy one?" He says: no. (Which he might need a little re-training...I found one tonight online, on apple's site). "Do you take walk-in appointments, so I can drop by another day?" (As with my schedule being determined by doctors and my mother's illness). He says: No. (Which also...they take "Stand-by" appointments, apparently). And then the frazzled Kimberly came out to play. I couldn't help it. I'm emotionally a wreck right now. I cried. I was at the point that I was ready to walk to Radio Shack or one of those type of stores and buy a non-apple MP3 player...and I've had apple products since I was...17? 18? We're talking mid-to-late nineties here. That's a big jump. I pull out my iphone and walk away from him, tears streaming. I'm on the net looking up info to see if I can find a price estimate to fix the issue, which I suspect is a logic-board problem or something with the audio out put as everything else is fine. He approaches me again and asks me if I'd like to see a manager. I say yes. A few minutes later (probably around 5? I'm not sure). He comes up and tells me he has someone that can help me. Enter, Matt Bass, Apple Genius. Now, I don't know if a manager made him do it, or what, but suddenly I was speaking with someone that could actually help me. He tested my ipod for a few minutes, found the problem (a known issue with 5th generation pods apparently, that while not in warranty, is covered by the warranty...) and had a solution and me out the door in MAYBE 10 minutes, tops. The solution? repair/replace. The new Ipod will be in the store in a few days, they'll call me and I can pick it up. For free. I'm so pleased with Matt (and, if there was someone behind the scenes, them, too) that I want to go, bring them coffee gift certificates or something and buy my mother an ipod touch so she stops stealing my iphone and ipod. ;) Summary: Concierge needs a little training (hence one-star off), but was friendly enough and when realized how dissatisfied I was with his lack of help, was smart enough to get someone that *could* help. I placed a large ($2600) order online and selected the courier service that was guaranteed arrive within 2 hours. The time window came and went without them contacting me. I got in touch with customer support (after the window had passed) and they said they don't always know if couriers are available. So why did you give me an option of 2 hour delivery? This is now the FOURTH time I've had to take my phone in to get fixed/replaced. I spent $300 June 2017 to REPLACE my phone because the screen went black and it died (and that GENIUS was a complete jerk). Then had to go back in July 2017 to replace that phone because it had issues and wouldn't charge (that GENIUS was nice at least). Today April 2018 (10 months later) my phone screen crapped out again. This GENIUS had no clue what he was doing and had to keep asking other GENIUS peeps what to do. And in the end was going to charge me $130 to replace the screen that was 10 months old. Needless to say, they wouldn't replace the 10 month old screen for free. (I took it to phone repair place down the street and paid $90) So, I'm over Apple products. They seem to be getting worse and their GENIUS employees don't really care anymore. It could be just this store. I'd go to Boulder or anywhere else if i were you. I'm beginning to laugh at them like Sheldon when they refer to themselves as GENIUSES. (The fourth time was in 2015 when i owned the phone for 4 months and it fried and they replaced it for free. They always have good knowledge which came in EXTREMELY handy yesterday as I had lost 2.5 hours of my life trying to either get my phone repaired or exchanged at Cherry Creek Mall on Sunday (2 days after iPhone 6 launch) and after the rep on the phone told me they were incorrect on how to help me he had me in and within 10 minutes I had a new phone. We came to get my wife's screen. Although they had at least 30 workers working in the Apple store, her phone was still 45 mins late. When I asked someone what was taking so long she called me honey and was condescending. If you are going to employ that many people, you should make sure they are personable and able to complete tasks by the promised time. read more

1st try, made an appointment arrived 10 minutes early, after start time had gone and passed was asked to sit prior to simply dropping off my broken watch for repair. After 20 minutes with multiple other sad people in front of me- walked out in frustration. 2 second try, (my fault) booked appt on wrong day but was booked as a walk-in. However all the technicians had a very important internal meeting that took priority over customers- now 30 minutes in- still standing around waiting for the techs who need to sign-off on my drop off. 3. Just watched the fix it yourself video- not sure an option for me. 4. Just tried to fill out form on Apple support to send in... sadly said I needed to drop off at Apple Store. My advice: Don't break your Apple watch - lesson learned. Not even sure why I have this stupid thing. Nothing better to do: 50 minutes in, so writing a review...... wish someone could just fill out the repair order and let me go. Sadly- only other option would be to leave again and come back for third try. Just checked back at 1 hour in- greeting person forgot to check me in and new greeting person said they would check me in if I would like to wait an hour or so for a tech. read more

I'm sitting here in the Apple Store at Flatiron Crossing as I write this - my 3rd iPhone in 12 months is being formatted (it's not me, I swear!). I came to the Flatirons store because it was going to be 3 days before I could get an appointment at the Boulder store, and these guys saw me right away. I can't think of another company that does customer service as well as Apple. These guys (hi Gabe! hi Matt!) couldn't have been nicer to me for the past 90 minutes that I've been sitting here. They didn't argue with me about my complaint, didn't try to suggest anything other than "replace that bad boy". Gabe even took a piece of tape and lifted the protective film off my old phone, and placed it perfectly on the new screen - and then he did the same with the gela skin cover on the rear of my phone! Those little things really do mean a lot. I think that when you pay the sort of money we pay for Apple products, you should be able to expect superior support. My son broke the screen of his I Phone. I called Apple and set an appointment for repair the next day. We arrive, and in a few minutes are greeted by a nice guy who tells me that their machine is broken world wide, and he isn't sure when its going to be fixed. He says they will put a screen aside for us, but we will have to make a new appointment when the machine is fixed. Sorry. So, I would guess that a third of the fix it type appointments are screens. Why didn't they email us and save is the hour + it took to go down to the store? Honestly, they had my email, and phone number. It would have taken them 10 minutes to email every appointment in the country and say, if your coming in for a new phone screen hold up, we will call you when we can repair it. This was closer to a Walmart service experience than what one might expect from Apple.... Sorry, I'm staying with my Android and the Sprint stores, they have been great. They MAY have good products and they MAY have good knowledge, but despite having many employees on the floor that might not be working with customers, you will likely be treated poorly here. The messages that I received today were "not my department", "did you need something..." and "we'll get to you" in a faint voice from 8 feet away... It's obviously too much trouble to actually walk right up to a customer and say "Thanks for visiting us today, what can I do for you?", with a sincere caring attitude. At least they are consistent! Went in to purchase a new iPhone and every associate was busy. I was never asked if I needed assistance until I had spent fifteen minutes wandering the store. Once I was paired with an associate she seemed annoyed with my questions and continued to walk away to chat with other associates. Half way through the process she alerted me it was time for her break and abruptly left. Leaving me and several others to navigate the rest of our problems. I have had many positive experiences with Apple, but this experience was beyond frustrating. I will not be back to this location anytime soon. read more

This morning, I hear a *thud* and a tiny "Uh-oh" and I see my 1 yr old standing over my ipad 2. Since it was on carpet, I didn't even consider anything to be wrong. Then, I see it. The spider-crack in the top right corner of my beautiful ipad. I figure, "hey, I've had this for less than 2 months. Surely, the apple store people will help me." The genius, Tyler, did and he was so awesome- Polite, friendly, and very courteous. After a brief survey of what had happened, he traded out my broken ipad2 for a new one. (And if they didn't have one in stock, I would have one over-nighted to me) I had such a good experience that I am a fan! TL;DR- The people at Apple are awesome. read more

Amazing customer experience - this is exactly what comes to mind when I think about every single one of my visits to the Apple Store at FlatIron Crossing in Broomfield. I always receive a warm, non-intrusive welcome as soon as I walk in the door. And although some Apple Stores can be overwhelming and too busy to seem like anyone can help you, I have never had that experience at this Apple Store. As an iOS app developer, business owner, and tech nerd, I could not be happier with the care and support I have received here. The Apple Business Team of David, Audree, Kyle and crew are always quick to respond to any questions I have and have assisted me in every tech issue or product request I have had over the last 2 years. Although I now live in downtown Denver, I still make the drive up to Broomfield to visit their team for any Apple technical assistance. I took my phone in to get my battery replaced. I walked out and hours later I discovered that my front facing camera was broke in the process. After getting the initial appointment I went in at my time of 3:30. I had to wait 20 minutes in which I was told that they cancel appointments if the person doesn't check in after 10 minutes. I went to pick up my phone and had to wait another hour after they said it was ready. So... I waited more than 3 hours for them to return a phone to me with a broken camera. I tried calling the store so they can fix this issue but they won't pick up and am routed to Apple support. This place is a joke read more

This place is ridiculous, we had an appointment for 6:25 and we have beed waiting for 30 minutes. What is the point of the appointments if they don't plan their day? Apparently they don't have technicians to help with the iPhone, however they know since yesterday (at least!) how many iPhones appointments they have schedule. 1. I hate malls. This mall is particular is annoying. The entrance/exit is up/down and around. The narrow main concourse with the annoying stall vendors asking me if I want something is cause to go postal. 2. This store is tiny. I have an Apple iPhone 12 that I purchased in July of 2021 (6 months ago) that has had a few glitches I needed to have repaired. I made an appt. at the Genius Bar and a guy named JACOB was the Apple "Expert" (HAHAHA!!!) that was supposed to help me with a couple of things that weren't working right. Since he had NO IDEA how to fix these things, he just told me to wipe it clean and start over! Really!?!?! I also own a Mac and an iPad and so he told me my phone would sync with those products and my iPhone would be up and working again. So, I wiped it clean. OMG! It did NOT sync everything with my Mac or iPad! Long story short, this Apple location is a very poor excuse for having any knowledge of how to 'fix' an iPhone and I would say they aren't much better in the sales department. I'm now taking it to an Apple/Mac repair store to see if he can get it working the way an Apple iPhone is supposed to work!! read more

To have a broken screen is a frustrating experience, especially when half of your screen doesn't work and you have to reset the password on your Apple ID. When we first came in we were set up on a computer to contact Apple support via them calling the phone to verify ownership, the only problem was to talk to an associate you must push #1 (which was on the broken side of the phone). I was on the phone for 30 minutes, transferred to a senior advisor, both of which were actually no help. Heather came over and tried a few things and we figured out how to reset her password on a different phone, she talked to the rep on the phone and figured out a solution. Long story short, she saved the day! She deserves 5stars but the first hour we were in the store was not very productive. She did a great job and had an amazing sense of urgency and empathy to our frustrations! Thank you again Heather!!! read more

We buy Ipads, Iphones and Apple TVs yet we feel like you would not service our phone by choice although we make a choice to support you. Very rude service! We drove 26 miles to the Apple Store with a dual mission. Buy a charger for a MacBook Pro 13-inch 2016 and get help with exercise function on an Apple Watch. Guess what: No charger. No technical help. Stay home, save gas, save frustration and shop Amazon. Also, the referenced computer is an abomination with no USB, no SD card, no LAN and a "Thunder" port that nothing fits, no DVD drive and therefore useless unless you buy another $400 worth of new accessories. Tried to make an appointment to shop, but they weren't accepting online appointments. Ok, so we go in the store. We got there about 30 minutes after the store opened. There were 5 employees leaning against the tables, one helping someone and one greeting. We said we were there to purchase a new iMac. The greeter went over to one of the employees and we heard him respond "I'm going home soon". We were told the next appointment was at 12:30. I said I tried to make an appointment online and was told by the greeter that they aren't setting appointments online. So all customers who would like to spend money in the store need to come to the store to make an appointment to come back to the store? I can't tell you how frustrating it is to go into a store, prepared to drop $2k only to not be helped. I can totally appreciate that we are in a pandemic with a labor shortage. I really was hopeful that with Apple's brand quality that they would pay well enough to hold on to employees. I had never needed to visit this store for phone repair but am glad I did so! They are very affordable for whatever problem you may have brought on yourself or are encountering with your product and very thorough with their procedure. I scheduled an appointment prior to my visit (a must!) and waited roughly 20 minutes but have no complaints as I was greeted upon entry, and also spoken to by the Manager during my wait for a Technician. I will absolutely return to this location should I experience or bring upon any other technical advice or repairs. read more

I have to go back and give this store a higher star count! I had left a review because Apple couldn't help and wouldn't help or give me any advise on what to do. I had bought several new Apple X phones for Christmas gifts and they were supposed to be unlocked but were not. I about fell apart. FINALLY the manager at the Flatirons Mall TOTALLY FIXED all the problems and was extremely professional and Fast! I've always bought all my grandkids computers there and all their many phones. However, they refused to repair my phone or give me the part so I could repair my phone. Terri Johnson the store manager gave little to no help as far a solutions go. They never have any stock, never have any items you are looking for, workers seems annoyed at your presence, and the place, unlike most other locations, is usually empty.
