The website indicated they participated in a MetLife Dental program I did not recognize, but did not address the MetLife federal program. I called and was told I would just have to call MetLife to find out. I went to the Federal program section of the MetLife web site and Michael Tomczyk DDS was the first provider listed near Dillsburg. I then called the Dillsburg Dental Care office again and it was allegedly answered by the dentist himself. He proceeded to pass the telephone to the female who had answered my original call. I began to explain that their practice was listed under MetLife's federal program but was interrupted by her statement that I would have to pay her $20.00 in cash personally in order for her to "look it up". Shocked, I said "you're kidding" to which she replied "no, the doctor is right here and he said so." She then hung up on me.

The reason for my initial visit was because a sensitive spot on one of my wisdom teeth - they needed to be removed. She was quick to have an oral surgeon refered to me and set up for the removal process. I had also gotten Periodontal gum disease due to not seeing a dentist and having plaque buildup below the gums. She had been able to set up a treatment plan that included deep root scaling to remove the plaque, teeth cleaning, periodontal disease treatment, stain removal, and finally resin fillings. The treatment plan has taken the entirety of 2025 to complete and I am on my way to the last appointment! The process was slowed on my end and visitations had to be spread out due to no dental insurance. I was able to work with them to open an account and take advantage of 6 month no interest promotional plans per visitation instead of paying a full lump sum out of pocket. Will recommend as she is a perfectionist and takes her time to ensure that the disease has recessed and no longer evident before doing the fillings. The resin is not noticeable as the color matching has a wide range to choose from. No pain - no stereotypical dentist inducing fear. It is an in an out experience for a perfect appointment. Don't wait too late even if you have no insurance to schedule with her as there is a reason why she has won awards in the area and has a solid backlog with quite the team to help her out with appointments. However, when I provided my insurance information, I was informed that they are not temporarily accepting patients with my insurance, despite it being listed as in-network. In other words, they are in-network with my insurance but refusing patients, which is misleading and could be a network compliance issue. It felt like they are prioritizing patients whose insurance pays more, rather than genuinely caring for those in need of care. On top of that, the receptionist, Tery, was extremely rude and unprofessional. If the front desk staff cannot provide basic courtesy over the phone, it raises concerns about the overall environment and patient experience in the office. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this office to anyone looking for respectful, patient-centered care.

I did not go, thankfully, but went to another dentist who popped the tooth out in a matter of seconds. It was not necessary to spend a lot of money for the job, and particularly to someone that another dentist referred me to. Secondly, I had to have a denture done and during the process he told me my teeth looked like crap, and when the new denture was completed it was horrible. The dentist said he really couldn't do anything about it, except maybe have it realigned - once - with no fittings or anything. This prosthetic has caused me nothing but trouble, plus it looks really bad. It has thrown my whole appearance off and I can hardly talk with it. Horrible! Then I went for my free teeth cleaning and he didn't want to accept what the insurance paid for it and he sent me a bill for the rest. Three good reasons to NEVER go back there!

Dr. Sipes and his staff took their time explaining all my options thoroughly and gave me an option that I did not know was available to me. I had a previous consultation with another dental group that was misleading in my options and was much more expensive than what Dr. Sipes was offering me. I had previously been reluctant to go to the dentist due to fear of pain, but Dr. Sipes explained why his methods would not cause me outright pain and just a little discomfort. I decided to have a full implant to replace all the teeth in my upper jaw instead of having dentures or a combination of bridges and implants and teeth removals. Dr. Sipes is very knowledgeable and has a very nice manner about him. He didn't speak 'over' me; he made sure that I understood every aspect of the services he was offering. Dr. Sipes was right about the pain...I only had a little discomfort from the shots and the rest of the procedure was pain-free! Recovery from my procedure was quick and pain-free as well. I have been so pleased with the full implant in my upper jaw. It seems as if it is my own natural teeth. It is easy to clean and looks very natural and I'm thrilled that I went with the full implant. The staff have been very nice and helpful. The office is very nice and well- organized. They have state-of-the-art techniques and equipment. I recommend Sipes Dental for anyone, but especially if you have avoided dental treatments due to fear of pain or because you have a lot of dental work than needs done.
