I called Comic Heaven before making the drive and asked how much a box of cards would cost. I was…read moretold $100 per box over the phone. After driving about 20 minutes to the store, the owner suddenly changed the price to $120 per box. When I mentioned that I had been quoted $100, I was told, "That's not my problem. The guy on the phone is new. It happens every day." If pricing mistakes like that really happen every day, it's hard to understand how the business continues to operate that way. Customers shouldn't be expected to waste time and gas because employees aren't given accurate pricing information. The experience was made worse by the rude attitude. During my phone call, the employee even told me what the store had paid for the boxes, and once I arrived, the owner gave a different explanation about the pricing. The whole interaction felt dishonest and unprofessional. On top of that, many of the cards and packs were already priced higher than other local stores and online retailers. Based on my experience, I won't be returning and can't recommend Comic Heaven to other collectors. Zero stars !

Thursday was a bright sunny day and the sun beams shone thru the windows to highlight the comic and toy goodness. New comics come in weekly and they have a nice back stock selection. They also have prints, t-shirts and models. Check out their Funkos and models. Recently they have had some pop culture guests like Lou Ferigno, some Power Rangers and some voice actors. I love stopping into a shop that is definitely Chaotic Neutral. Maybe Chaotic Good. Or visa-versa. This shop is showcased / packed with Gaming, Gaming, Gaming. If you look up gaming in the dictionary, there's gonna be a picture of this shop They have gaming supplies, all sorts of card games, all sorts of singles, all sorts of table top games, dice and a great place in the back of the store to sit down and play whatever you desire. Markus also has what I believe is the only display of Sideshow collectible statues In Cleveland. If you like the stuff, be sure to break out your wallet they are not cheap. All along the tops of all the shelves are additional statues and other toys and collectibles. Be sure to look up. They carry, as I said, gaming supplies, and Comic supplies. They also have new comics on Wednesdays and Comics displayed around the store. A huge selection of graphic novels are along the wall on the right hand side. Markus has a lot of marquee or dioramas set up, and I love his Beholder, the huge G.I. Joe aircraft carrier and of course the Star Wars robot in the back. Only pictures can do this store justice. There are little toy things, and big toy things. The vintage clothing was one of a kind in different sizes...men, women and some kids. There is something for all ages. Yelp posts the store opens at 2 p.m., and into the evening. It's open on weekends, too. If in the area, check it out. The owner, a friendly guy, was putting out merchandise, and talked about his hobby...all the stuff. My son asked him about Master Chief, which he had some cool items.

We had to stop in and take a look. Despite being a small store the amount of inventory was enormous. You could tell the owner has been buying/collecting for some time. I think he was actually looking at items to purchase when we were in the store. Although we didn't purchase anything on this trip we will definitely stop by again. There appeared to be many hard to find items and items that were very nostalgic. It was fun to look around. The prices seemed fair.

I think the coolest part about walking into B & L is that it is a time capsule that represents every comic shop I ever went to as a kid and young adult. This is a good thing. Larry is such a nice guy and he knows comics and has a great selection of wall books and back issues. He also gets new books on Wednesdays. The shop has comic supplies along with some great sports cards and non-sport cards. He carries other great collectibles and even some candy which I can't say no to...ever! Larry and B & L will have Free Comics tomorrow for Free Comic Book Day. Stop in and say hi!!!
