PSA If you're someone like me that holds onto their iPhones for as long as possible (i'm talking 3-5 years) and replaces the battery after it's been "significantly degraded" according to the Battery health settings, make sure you get to the Apple store HOURS AND HOURS before they close (actually AT open might be best) because tonight has now been the third time in THREE (3) years that I have been turned away for not getting there early enough EVEN THOUGH the "Genius Bar" appointment for battery service lets you make it for ANYtime of the day, they WILL turn you away without warning if they determine they dont have enough time to swap out your battery, something that seems to be a trend there. Back in 2022 with my iphone SE (2020) I was turned away on two different occasions because of how behind they were even though it allowed me to make the one appointment for 7pm and the subsequent one was made for 5pm (I was still declined services then) and the store is open until 9pm.... I understand the world doesn't revolve around me and there's other people requiring the same type of service and employees get behind but this is APPLE that we're talking about. Apple If a store is knowingly going to turn away customers after a certain time then WHY DO YOU LET THEM MAKE THE APPOINTMENT in the first place? There should be a disclaimer or a warning or they should BLOCK OUT these preset appointment windows if they know they can't provide the service in that time... That's just common sense! Tonight's Genius Bar appointment was for 7:05p for a battery replacement. I'm then told to come back tomorrow before noon if I want this done at a reasonable enough time... So what, any other person that happens to make their own appointment after "noon" tomorrow you're also going to turn away with no warning ?? UNACCEPTABLE. In 2022 after I was FINALLY able to get my battery replaced on my 2020 SE, I received an email asking for feedback and I explained this exact thing that happened to me then and here we are 3 years later and no change. It seems like they just expect you to think logically and think that a battery swap appointment at 7pm you must be out of your mind!!! Okay, I get that with the "how behind you are" explanation, but where is that on the website, and why is that MY problem as the consumer?? Drove to store yesterday to 1) get a new computer power cord for my current laptop and 2) purchase a new iPad. Couldn't find what I wanted so waited near the supply wall for nearly 5 minutes before someone approached me. She didn't even look up from her phone but asked if she could help me. I told her I could wait since she was obviously doing something else at that time but she said, "No i can hear you" all while continuing to scroll. i told her what I needed and she looked at the shelves and said she would have to look in the back. Waited another 10 minutes and she didn't come back. Saw her helping another customer on the other side of the store. Started to leave and another clerk asked if I needed help. Told her what I needed and she passed me off to someone else. Told the third person what I needed and he argued with me that it existed. Told me the power cord I needed had to have a USB (?) port on the side. I told him no, my old cord did not have a port. He asked me the model and year of my computer and I told him. He said unless he saw my computer (???) he didn't know what I needed. I told him I had bought it there so....shouldn't they have me in their system? He told me unless Applecare was still on the computer, he couldn't look it up. Tried to sell me AppleCare but no -- I just needed a new power cord. Again he told me that what I needed had to have a port. No it doesn't. I left in total frustration and gave up my plan to purchase a new iPad. Totally unacceptable customer service. Then I went home and ordered my d*** power cord online through Amazon. It was delivered today -- 8 hours hours after ordering it -- and it works great. read more

I had an Apple gift card to get rid of, so I went there to get a mac mini to get rid of the gift card, because I only want to get my Apple products through Best Buy. Went Today on 8/9/25 at 1:00pm to pick up a phone that was ready after getting some work done which i also never got a call from them that it was in fact ready. Horrible service from an unkept, unprofessional, non connecting beard individual named Jorge. My apple craze took me out to Lehigh Valley today for the day1 of iPhone 14pro. Such a beautiful drive and an amazing location! After fails of day1 deliveries in Jersey (package suddenly disappears) over multiple years -- Jersey is home of the loosely back-ended delivery trucks -- I resolved some years ago to clicky my way to a same-day iPhone on day1 and I haven't failed yet. Last days I readied my order with options, color, trade in info and more to be ready for the clicky war at 5am pacific on day1. I was hoping for Delaware to save some sales tax, but at 5:01am, pickup slots were already at 12:45. My card didn't go through fast enough, so it was 1:30, then 3:45 then day2. Ugg. Note to self : choose a PM time to start and you might get it. Well, the drive was worth it. Outdoor mall is great in this weather, and so convenient to park and walk in. Covid? My Fiancés phone was at this store and was internally stolen & sold, she was waiting for the phone to be returned on 08/03/2023 and we found out that this brand new never used iPhone pro max was being used and even racked up $100 on international travel charges and over 325 text messages sent while it's allegedly being repaired , the store manager told her it's missing along with 5 other phones from the store.. Upon asking they tell you you're next in line several times, but then it's apparent how they serve a lot of other customers before you. I'm aware that it probably has to do with the difference of walk-in customers and those with appointments. But at least be transparent about that or apply a text message alert-service or something of that sort. Don't just say that I'm next in line and make me wait while a lot of the employees seem to stand in a group having small talk. Bought a new phone, SE. my old phone was an android. Can they transfer the data from one to another, maybe in two hours? Sure. After several techs tried, they couldn't do it. They gave me a number to call, Apple central. At home, on the phone with, what I assumed was a more upscale tech person,she walks me thru a protocol using my desktop. After an hour and a half, plus yet a more experienced tech (I had assumed) we still can upload most data, like even making a call. I bade them farewell. Transferring date from an Android to an I phone seemed like a really complicated process, like this had never been tried before. This is the largest company in the world, and yet, they have people working for them who know very little. My friend's kid ( 18yrs old) did it in 2 hours. Also, Apple employees should dress in uniforms. They should look like they mean business, look like a professional even if you don't know much. I will not visit this apple store again. The staff treats you like cattle. I went in to pick up a phone that I'd bought online. I was asked to stand at a table in the corner, my Id was checked twice by different employees, and I had to wait 10 mins to pickup something even though I arrived at the store at the beginning of the 15 minute pickup window. I got the feeling that they felt we should be thanking them for the experience. This is not the first time I was made to feel this way. I went to this store because I needed an unlocked phone. My elementary school-aged son with severe non-verbal autism threw his iPad mini 2 in school and despite a case and screen protector the screen shattered as though a car had rolled over it. The saving grace was that it still turned on and charged overnight. It had served us well for 3 years and it was clearly time for an upgrade. We went to this store the very next day to get an immediate replacement. The iPad mini is not for my son's entertainment. It is his voice. He uses the app Snap + Core Plus to use picture communication to speak to us. Most often to tell us that: "I want cookie." We were greeted at the store right away by a friendly young woman. We showed her the shattered iPad mini. We knew pretty much what we wanted - the iPad mini 5 and would need help making sure that the Snap + Core app transferred over to the new iPad with all of the customizations that had been made to it by his special education teacher, two speech therapists and two behavior technicians. It was imperative that all of the photos and special picture symbols would not be lost. Luckily I had forgotten that I had previously set up automatic backups. The young lady set up the order and within 10 minutes of walking in the store we had a new ip At the tech table another woman patiently walked me through the process of downloading the backup onto the new iPad. My son came over and recognized his communication board. He immediately asked, "I need to use the bathroom." Thank you Apple store staff for your prompt service, kindness and for giving us back my son's voice. Two months later... we return to the store because my son "Destroyer of iPads" had a "water activity" at school. We don't know exactly what occurred but it arrived home in his backpack with the case disassembled. The school staff was apologetic. We made an appointment online for the Genius Bar at this Apple store. We were greeted and seated. We met with Vinny! He was courteous and professional. Our Apple care protection plan covered the damage with a $50 service fee we were told they did not have our particular iPad in-stock but mailed us a new one via Fed-Ex that arrived in less than a week. I've set up an appointment for them to fix my phone and twice now they've run so far behind schedule that I've had to walk out. And they won't allow you to just drop off the phone early, you have to wait until the technician can admit you. Even if that's way beyond their appointed time that you have to schedule a week in advance for. Very disappointed in how Apple, with all their supposed geniuses, can't figure out how to be on time, or at least to drop off a phone. However, when they did finally fix my cracked screen (for a hairline crack) and change the battery, it was all under warranty, so it was for $0 cost, which it why they got bumped up to 3 stars. read more

The next closest one is 2 hours. So I've been here a lot and I NEVER look forward to it. Today is my third attempt coming down here to get the battery in my phone replaced. After having issues with my Apple Watch, brought it in multiple times for diagnostic tests, sent to repair facility etc we were told on the phone that they would just replace it with a new one in the store. David had other ideas...he ran the same diagnostic test as before (despite us telling him that this had already been before, it was in their notes!), he determined that the watch should be sent into the repair facility yet again. We asked to speak to a manager three times and he actually refused stating, "they'll just say the same thing." This is the second time that I have been to the store and have not gotten to speak to a sales technician. Three weeks ago, I had a scheduled time to pick up an iPhone SE and they tell me that I can take phone and leave, since a technician was not available to help, even though I had a scheduled appt. I left without my phone. Have tried repeatedly to schedule an appt. on line, but could not. Finally a live person yesterday told me come by Friday at 11:00 am when they open and I could wait in line and would be taken in order. After getting in line, I find out that most people already had appts. I asked for an appt, and was told the earliest was four hour wait! I learned that , after driving 45 minutes to get there! I said to manager, how do I get an appt, he says you need to come in here and schedule it because online scheduling is not working. Their system and software stinks!!!!!!!!! I can't believe I'm leaving a one star review of an Apple Store, I've been such a diehard fan for 15 years of everything Apple. A week ago I dropped my phone and cracked the screen. Next day I went online, knowing I'd prefer for the experts at Apple to fix it. Discovered the first available appointment was six days later, the following Friday. No big deal, Covid requirements and whatnot, I get it. There were appointments at 12:30, 2:30, 3:30, and 4:30 available. Knowing I didn't want to leave work midday, I booked the latest one I could. Everything I was booking was for a repair to my screen, saying it was cracked and I needed it fixed. I arrived just before 4:30 and waited in line till just before 5pm. Finally met with the Apple Genius, who verified I had a cracked screen (duh). Then came the very frustrating part: He then informed me they were done taking repairs for the day, but I could come back in the next five days. I explained I live an hour and a half away, and booked the appointment expecting to get my phone repaired today. He tells me I was setting up for a "consultation," which he's completed, but while I might have been able to get a repair earlier in the day, at this point they're booked. His options to me were to leave the phone with them, and pick it up at some point tomorrow after 12pm, or drop it off at 11am tomorrow and wait an hour to pick it up. What about my concerns about having explicitly setup an appointment for this repair and then being told, "sorry, can't help you?" Well that's just too bad. We go back and forth like this for another few minutes, and I ultimately conclude there's zero interest in helping me. I ask to speak to the manager. After waiting another 10 minutes, I'm again told basically the same thing. If I'd come in earlier I'd "probably" have been able to get it fixed, but it's been a busy day and they're booked. I point out no where online was it stated I'd have a better shot getting what I came into the store for completed if I booked an earlier time, as if it had I would have done so. Again, no real answer other than they can't help me. So finally I gave up, and decided my only option was to drive an hour and a half each way, and come back the following day to hopefully get the repair completed. They tell me the repair will take an hour. After quite a bit of coaxing I finally get a digital barcode I can provide at the entrance so I don't have to wait in line for another 30 minutes. I left the store still frustrated: I've been an evangelist for Apple products for 15 years, convincing family and friends they were superior, more intuitive, and offered better customer service. This is the first big letdown for me on that last point, and I'm still amazed there's zero appetite to even try to make this right for me based on the situation. So I decide on a whim to walk into the main section of the mall, and a few feet later find a store called Cellairis, that says it offers iPhone screen replacements. I walk in, the woman behind the counter asks how she can help, I show her my phone, she says $130. I agree to the price, she says the repair will take 20 minutes, and she thinks they can solve the issue of a quieter than normal earpiece at the same time. I go next door and grab some dinner, coming back 20 minutes later to a perfectly repaired iPhone. She asks me to check all features to make sure they work, and offers to have me call their store phone to verify the earpiece works better, which it entirely does. So after an hour of fighting with Apple reps with no interest in making it right, in 20 minutes I have a fixed phone, for $70 less than Apple wanted to charge me, and better customer service than I'd had at their store. The next time I have an issue I'm coming to the folks at Cellairis instead, and leaving Apple out altogether. The whole experience is making me question if I'll even buy another iPhone when I do decide to upgrade, or for the first time since I switched from a blackberry (yes, it was that long ago), consider an Android product instead. read more

I asked 3 team members for hell as I told them I was there to pick up an online order, after going to three different tables I was finally helped. I do understand it is the holidays but I work in retail myself and we all know to acknowledge the customers as they walk in the store even if you're busy. And that didn't happen when I walked in the store, the process was super slow and the rep that helped me was not courteous. When I finally got my 3 items an hour later they didn't have bags! They said they couldn't help me. They said they didn't have time to help me. And they said this while standing with two other employees talking to each other and doing nothing. I recently had my laptop in the store for a warrantied repair, they agreed to fix it. The next I get a call asking me if I warn or replace the logic board because it was not functioning. I was very surprised because it was functioning when I dropped it off to the "genus behind the counter". There was some cosmetic damage near the part, but apparently when they replaced the battery, they also had to go near the area in question. The repair technician who's name was Aaron accidentally broke the piece completely and now they are pulling a fast one by saying they did not break it and that it was my error. They are the worst repair department ever. DO NOT have them do any hardware repairs on anything. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a huge headache by not using their repair department. I am now in the process of consulting A lawyer and will be summoning the store to court. read more
