All the details - from the fireplace, the HUGE tub, the beautiful shower and even the filtered water in the room goes to show how much care was put into it. Karen's breakfast each morning was delicious and we loved everything, including the yummy French press coffee. The house's location is right on the river, so it was easy to take a quick nature hike as well. It was only 15 minutes into the town of Cottonwood, so the drive to wineries and dinner was very easy. Highly recommend this location. We can't wait to come again!

We will probably never stay in Sedona again when we can avoid the high costs of lodging and food, the barrage of people and traffic, etc. We can have beautiful lodging, great food and shopping in Cottonwood and travel just about 30 minutes to Sedona to take care of our - Sedona desires. But who knows, with the hiking, the Verde River Train, good food, shopping - we may not NEED to go to Sedona.

The breakfasts are included and when you go into the lounge area, there's a menu that you can order off of, and the chef, Jaime, will make your food fresh right in front of you when you order. We booked a one night stay, just as quick overnight out of town (we live in Phoenix). We came up to hike and then headed to check in. When we arrived, we thought the property was charming. It had a nice relaxed vibe about it. It was also close though to restaurants, bars, shopping, and gyms to just walk to. When we checked in, the front desk woman Katherine said she had been up to our room a little while before we had arrived and it was "pretty warm", so she told us she turned the air on and it should be cooling down soon. Even though Sedona was having a heat wave, it wasn't that hot from what were used to in the valley. We went up to our room and "pretty warm" was an understatement; it was downright toasty! We closed all our curtains and blinds to help the room cool faster (even though it negated the "room with mountain views" selling point), but nothing was happening. After about an hour, the temperature just kept combining up. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone over. The first person came and stared at the panel for a few minutes, then left and said he was looking for batteries. Ok. Then, a second guy came and dismantled the panel and left. The first guy came back and was like "what happened here?" And we told them someone else came and took it apart. Then he pulled the entire unit off the fall and left. This revolving door of maintenance workers took about an hour. We were thinking of just going home because staying in the overheated room was not at appealing. We could sleep in 86 at home for free. Katherine told us to come to the lobby to cool off for a it, offered us a free bottle of wine or champagne, but we don't really drink. We were really tired for hiking all afternoon, but we said we'd go to dinner and come back and hopefully have some sort of option. Finally after a few hours they told us the cooling unit was frozen over from being overworked and we'd need to change rooms (not upgrade; we weren't asking for that). We had asked before and there weren't additional rooms, but something opened up. We were happy to move. There was a credit Katherine said she was going to take care of and not only was it not refunded, we were double charged instead and despite multiple calls after our stay, the issue is not resolved 6 weeks later. Anyway, when we got to our new room, it was much cooler luckily. Our bed was actually very comfortable and we were finally able to relax after a long, hot, and frustrating day. In the morning, my husband went for a hike with the pass he was able to check out from the front desk. When he got back, we went down to breakfast together which was said to be a "really nice, made to order breakfast". Who wouldn't want that? Well, that is definitely not what we got. There was one man working and doing everything by himself for a dining room full of people. We could feel the hangry tension as soon as we walked in. There was no hot water or coffee, no do it yourself toast options, no takeaway items, or anything. I had to go back to my room to use the coffee machine, our mugs and get water. This guy was trying his hardest but we just kept wondering why he was doing it alone, or why he couldn't put the bread and toaster and muffins out for people to just grab while they waited for their breakfast tacos. He didn't have a ticket system either or queue; just write it on scrap of paper. Several people left but we waited it out. Our breakfast tacos and muffins arrived and we looked at each other like you do when you eat at a friend's house and don't want to be rude, but also don't want to eat what's in front of you either. We tried to eat what we could and then took our dishes back to our room, then walked to Bosa across the street. We saw the AC repair truck had arrived too. We really wanted to like our stay at Las Posadas, but maybe we just caught them on an off weekend‍.

We recognize this does not fall on the hotel however what made our stay here unenjoyable was the hotel owner. The hotel owner here acknowledged that they know third party websites are not accurate and there was nothing they could do. He offered to discount us a second room however they only had a second room available for 1 night then we'd have to get a room someplace else. After discussing with the family 5, we decided we would make the 1 room work with 2 beds and a regular couch and let the staff know. 1 hour later after we unpacked and got all ready for dinner, the hotel owner called to let us know we actually could not have 5 people stay in the suite. The hotel owner tried to blame it on us and claimed we were told 5 people could not stay here. However, the front desk staff member was there upon our initial conversation with the hotel owner and she allowed us to still stay here and make the room work so he clearly did not mention this beforehand. This came off as very unprofessional to us and we were very unhappy as we checked in over 2 hours ago and made it clear we had 5 people. The hotel owner made us book a second room, which ended up not being discounted, and advised us to take it up with hotels.com for a refund or dispute as there was really nothing he could do. After talking to hotels.com for 45 minutes, hotels.com advised they contacted the Lantern Light Inn for a refund, and the hotel owner said no even though we were willing to check out and leave. This also means the owner is clearly able to communicate with hotels.com to let them know their listing of the room is incorrect, but has never done anything to change it. We specifically booked a room for 5 for Father's Day weekend and my mom's birthday so we could all stay together. This hotel owner clearly will prioritize profit over guest satisfaction or hospitality. Since we were not able to get a refund and move hotels, our party was forced to stay at different hotels and be broken apart for our celebration weekend. If you are looking for a place to stay in Sedona, this would not be my recommendation as I believe you will find better hospitality someplace else for your special trip. Besides the hospitality, the space is pretty however there are only 10 rooms in total so it is small. They only allow 1 car per room as part of their policy which was also not advertised. We were forced to use their overflow lot which belongs to the insurance company next door. They do provide complimentary snacks for the room however the drinks do cost money and they stock the mini fridge full of them so it is hard to put your own stuff in there. Their office hours are only from 9-12 and 3-7 otherwise nobody is there for assistance. Nobody was typically there until 9:30ish. This was a special occasion trip for us and instead of feeling cared for, the hotel would not do anything to rectify the situation forcing us to split up for our trip. We were very disappointed and would not stay here again.
