This B and B has perhaps the best unobstructed view of the Sedona mountains. I mean nothing in between you and Courthouse, Cathedral and Bell Rock. It is quiet, clean, with private patios of the gorgeous vista. And best of all, enjoy It gourmet breakfasts with a view to die for. At night help yourself to homemade treats. For your day about town, grab a drink to go. When you leave, an AZ t shirt is gifted to each guest.

We stayed at the Penrose Bed & Breakfast for one night. We checked in and out without any major issues (there was initially a slight hiccup on their end with the rooms, which they immediately fixed). Our stay was lovely! We stayed in the Coconino room, which has truly stunning views of the surrounding red rock. The b&b has a slight movie theme, and there's a wide variety of DVDs available to watch and DVD players in each room. The breakfast was simple but tasty and generous--a strawberry smoothie in a martini glass to start, followed by a breakfast burrito. And the owners are so sweet. The house is in a great location, and close to a number of hikes. We were limited to Red Rock State Park (~25 minutes away) due to ongoing forest fires, but that was obviously not the norm. Definitely check this place out for a base to explore Sedona!

If you have never stayed at a bed and breakfast then I highly recommend your first experience be here! The location is perfect, close to stores, restaurants and all the hiking trails. We stayed in the Yavapai room which has an amazing view of the Sedona mountains! The staff is super nice, and work with you on whatever you may need. I highly recommend this place to anyone. Definitely will be back in the future!

The guest guide book freaked me out a bit, the rules give instructions on how to avoid scorpions. I spent the night frightened of putting my feet on the floor and i'm a native to Arizona. Luckily there was no reason to freak, not a single bug seen aside from the normal, non threatening kinds. The bed was comfortable. Lots of natural light with great views from the patio. Probably not the best place for vampires. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was unique and packed with flavor. Loved the homemade candy and snacks! I still haven't figured out how to work the second head in the shower :/

Beautiful background, lovely hosts, a great place to stay away from the main street but great distance to everything. The hosts were delightful and helpful with attractions around Sedona--prepared with printed lists of activities and binders full of things to do and see. This was a surprise weekend and we filled our weekend up just from talking to a host during breakfast. They provide some surprises for the guests as well. Don't miss out on this great spot to spend a romantic weekend in Sedona.

My new husband and I made this our first stop on our week long honeymoon adventure. We absolutely adored the Penrose, and hope to go back every year for our anniversary. I saw a review from 2009 that said the breakfast left something to be desired. ... well I don't know if things have changed that much since then, but I can assure you that my husband and I, who are big breakfast eating people, loved it and were so full from the amazing breakfasts served all three days we stayed. The staff was so kind and accommodating, and really just made you feel at home and comfortable. We stated in the Yavapai room- the only one located downstairs, and the only one with an access door outside. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It had a big 2 person spa tub in the bathroom and huge windows that made you feel like you were outside. But honestly, even if the breakfast was bad and the mattress was a straw bed.... The views from the rooms are worth every penny. I don't think it would matter how many days we stayed there, every morning we would wake up and marvel at the beautiful red rocks surrounding us. The ONLY complaint I MIGHT have is that the walls are a little thin. We could hear everything going on in the livingroom outside ours.... which made us feel like they could hear everything going on inside our room too.... aghm.....

We had a fantastic time celebrating our 8th Anniversary at the Penrose B & B. You cannot beat the views, hospitality, or the breakfasts!! The magic of the red rocks literally starts on this property, as it is directly at the base of a massive rock structure. We could not be any happier with our choice. We will definitely be back. Thanks to Maria for her kindness and great recommendations. If you are planning on staying in a bed and breakfast anywhere in the Sedona area, this should be your first choice.

My stay at The Penrose Bed and Breakfast was exceptional. Check in was easy and my room was absolutely perfect. I was not disappointed. The B&B common areas were well maintained and comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The Kokopelli room was beautiful and spacious. As you can see from my pictures I had an excellent view. The room was exactly how it was described on the B&B's web site. Each day, the gourmet breakfast was excellent. The breakfast patio offers a stunning close up view of the beautiful red rocks. Just imagine enjoying a great breakfast while looking at postcard perfect Sedona Red Rocks. It was so beautiful it felt surreal. The location is close to local dining and noted points of interests. For example, local restaurants are and the Bell Rock vortex and hiking trails are about 5 minutes away by car. TlaquepaqueArts & Craft Village and Uptown Sedona are 15 to 20 minutes away. The B&B is located in a residential area, so crazy tourist traffic does not exist. A bonus is that you have easy access to Hwy 179, which is a major thoroughfare to other main Sedona sites.

Our view from our second floor balcony room. GORGEOUS breath taking VIEWS.

I recommend this HIGHLY to anyone wanting a beautiful setting, clean rooms with balconies, romantic get away with great food around, and some of the best hiking access in America.

I absolutely loved this little b&b! We stayed 1 night in the Kokopelli room which had incredible views from the windows and balcony facing the red rocks and a small town below. The gourmet breakfast prepared by their chef was incredible and the waiter Michael is hilarious. You can eat in the breakfast room or out on the patio. The hospitality was top notch from beginning to end, and they even send you off with road treats! If you get a chance I highly recommend staying a night here.

This was such a great place to stay. Incredible staff. Knowledgeable, helpful and excited to be there. To die for breakfasts on the patio surrounded by the red cliffs. Inn is perched on a hill surrounded by the red rock cliffs. Amazing view from our balcony.

I've been waiting to post a review now for a few weeks to allow an outstanding issue to resolve…read moreitself but it has yet to, so here is my overdue review of our stay at Las Posadas. We booked a one night stay, just as quick overnight out of town (we live in Phoenix). We came up to hike and then headed to check in. When we arrived, we thought the property was charming. It had a nice relaxed vibe about it. It was also close though to restaurants, bars, shopping, and gyms to just walk to. When we checked in, the front desk woman Katherine said she had been up to our room a little while before we had arrived and it was "pretty warm", so she told us she turned the air on and it should be cooling down soon. Even though Sedona was having a heat wave, it wasn't that hot from what were used to in the valley. We went up to our room and "pretty warm" was an understatement; it was downright toasty! We closed all our curtains and blinds to help the room cool faster (even though it negated the "room with mountain views" selling point), but nothing was happening. After about an hour, the temperature just kept combining up. We called the front desk and they said they would send someone over. The first person came and stared at the panel for a few minutes, then left and said he was looking for batteries. Ok. Then, a second guy came and dismantled the panel and left. The first guy came back and was like "what happened here?" And we told them someone else came and took it apart. Then he pulled the entire unit off the fall and left. This revolving door of maintenance workers took about an hour. We were thinking of just going home because staying in the overheated room was not at appealing. We could sleep in 86 at home for free. Katherine told us to come to the lobby to cool off for a it, offered us a free bottle of wine or champagne, but we don't really drink. We were really tired for hiking all afternoon, but we said we'd go to dinner and come back and hopefully have some sort of option. Finally after a few hours they told us the cooling unit was frozen over from being overworked and we'd need to change rooms (not upgrade; we weren't asking for that). We had asked before and there weren't additional rooms, but something opened up. We were happy to move. There was a credit Katherine said she was going to take care of and not only was it not refunded, we were double charged instead and despite multiple calls after our stay, the issue is not resolved 6 weeks later. Anyway, when we got to our new room, it was much cooler luckily. Our bed was actually very comfortable and we were finally able to relax after a long, hot, and frustrating day. In the morning, my husband went for a hike with the pass he was able to check out from the front desk. When he got back, we went down to breakfast together which was said to be a "really nice, made to order breakfast". Who wouldn't want that? Well, that is definitely not what we got. There was one man working and doing everything by himself for a dining room full of people. We could feel the hangry tension as soon as we walked in. There was no hot water or coffee, no do it yourself toast options, no takeaway items, or anything. I had to go back to my room to use the coffee machine, our mugs and get water. This guy was trying his hardest but we just kept wondering why he was doing it alone, or why he couldn't put the bread and toaster and muffins out for people to just grab while they waited for their breakfast tacos. He didn't have a ticket system either or queue; just write it on scrap of paper. Several people left but we waited it out. Our breakfast tacos and muffins arrived and we looked at each other like you do when you eat at a friend's house and don't want to be rude, but also don't want to eat what's in front of you either. We tried to eat what we could and then took our dishes back to our room, then walked to Bosa across the street. We saw the AC repair truck had arrived too. We really wanted to like our stay at Las Posadas, but maybe we just caught them on an off weekend‍.

We booked Las Posadas of Sedona based on the website description calling it "a rare find within…read morewalking distance of restaurants, art galleries, hiking trails and golf courses." In our experience, that's misleading. The immediate area felt like strip malls, and we still had to drive to get to the Sedona we came for--real trails, views, and the Red Rock vibe. It was about a 20-minute drive from the parts of Sedona we actually wanted to spend time in. The rooms felt worn down (see pictures), and our check-in was late because the room wasn't ready. Staff were friendly, but the "upgrade" we were given was frustrating: we lost the views and the soaking tub we had specifically booked in our original room. Breakfast was basically on par with a Holiday Inn Express style breakfast, and the coffee was weak/lacking flavor--so we ended up going out for breakfast most days. Bottom line: friendly staff, but dated rooms, a misleading "walkable" claim, and a location that didn't feel like Sedona. We wouldn't stay here again--there are many better options in Uptown Sedona.

I ordered a Reuben sandwich with pastrami and can definitively state that this is the best Reuben I have had in my 68 years on the planet! The pastrami was lean and juicy, just enough kraut and dressing PLUS the marbled rye bread wasn't greasy or soggy as some contenders for this title were in the past. The side order of homemade potato chips balanced things out nicely. I've gotta admit though, the iced tea almost stole the show. I am somewhat an iced tea addict and their combination of black teas and fresh mint just about blew my mind. I had four refills! My wife had their veggie quiche with chips and found it equally memorable. The price for lunch was about what I usually expect to pay for dinner but it was truly worth it. The pleasant surroundings complimented the food and the waitress for our table was an absolute delight despite my running her back and forth to fetch me more iced tea! These sandwiches were like if I asked my little brother to make me one. It was ridiculous and way overpriced BLTA $18 two tiny pieces of avocado on the end. The only thing that was good and fresh was the bread everything else was basic nothing special. Also ordered the croissant, chicken salad sandwich. The croissant was good, but it was flat and looked like it was the end of the weeks bread. Again, $18 for the sandwich you would think that you would get a beautiful delicious croissant that was big and fresh but this looks like the size of a dinner roll and flatten down and they put grapes in their chicken salad which I am not a fan of. Absolutely nothing special about the sandwiches, way overpriced you would be better off going to Subway and that's pretty bad. The only good thing is the bread was good and the atmosphere is nice that's it otherwise you're paying $40 for two sandwiches with a slice of old orange buried way under a large pile of old stale chips not even good chips I mean come on so unfortunetly not coming back here and I am a local.
