I came in because my friends phone had died in the rain and he needed a new one. We first ran a diagnostic and was able to tell us went wrong and gave us all options without pressuring to buy. We then went to another cellphone provider store that just recommended to go to Apple because they were cheaper, not only that they provided activation discount and affordable payments for him. Decided to stop in this location since I was visiting friends down in Woodbridge. Upon entering. You're greeted by the security guard. A family member purchased a apple device for me as a gift and I wanted to exchange it for the cellular model. It was less than 14 days old. Despite speaking with Apple HQ via the phone prior to dropping in with them verifying the model and serials. They said everything was fine to do an exchange. But the entire visit turned out to be a massive waste of time. Also the employee that was helping me kept "OPENLY COUGHING" at the table across from me and not even covering his mouth. He was wearing a mask while coughing but still. Heavy cough too. Also this location is still doing appointments only. Despite Apple HQ saying just drop in and they'll take of it. The employees said they don't have time for purchases. But yet two apple employees spent almost 30min trying to research the receipt. Real integrityyyyyyy.... The employees were friendly. But lacking integrity really. They will tell you something which will turn out to be complete fiction. So Apple HQ lied and then the employee says well you can trade it in. Then the other employee says you CAN'T trade it in because it's the newest model. ??????? Which is it? ,lol. The overall environment was clean and they did have good ventilation. The general crowd was normal class really. Mainly adults. Also the noise level was quiet almost. Overall. I think I'll stick with my apple store near me which is Columbia. Had a good experience at the Woodbridge location when I purchased my MacBook with friends. But it seems as time goes on. The level of Customer Service goes down here. Lastly. So, I did come back here but not because I wanted to but because my laptop was not fixed the last time I brought it in for warranty repair. I purchased my laptop in October 2020 and I started having issues with it almost immediately: track pads rarely works, doesn't like to connect to WiFi, shuts down unexpectedly, terminal errors (I captured these and showed them when I took it in for repair), the video and camera doesn't work consistently- forget about virtual meetings, audio is terrible during video, the ports for external drives doesn't register most of the time.... All of these issues were communicated when I finally got an appointment in Jan 2021. Apple had my laptop for over a week and when I got it back, nothing was fixed. I dropped it back off on Thursday and it's so frustrating that I have to do this again, the laptop is obviously a lemon and should've been replaced, I'm going to lose all my software that's downloaded, my older laptop (2011) is extremely slow and no Longer updates and I have work that I need to use my laptop for. What's waste. I have an appt for 145pm, I show up at 140pm, they can't get to me til 2pm but I have an appt and there's this technology that Apple is a part of where you can notify people via there phone and let people know what's going on but I guess their technology is down because of COVID! Not just This location but everyone is so frustrating, they want you to wear a mask outside- nope not doing that! And when you get inside it was so freaking hot & You're waiting for your appt after the appt time and they keep bringing people in even when they can't get to people and then they have you playing musical squares and move you around to stand in certain squares, it's the dumbest nonsense!! Just let people wait outside until they can be seen where they aren't overheating. It's not difficult to manage this...stupidity is going to kill people, not Covid! I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment. I checked in and was instructed to go "sit at the long table in the back and someone would be right with me." I sat patiently for 67 minutes! During that time not one associate spoke to me nor made eye contact. Let me also say, I have no problem making myself look like a fool by causing a scene due to poor service. Alas, I had my children with me and wanted to set a good example by maintaining my decorum. So after waiting for over an hour I went back to the person that checked me in and asked him what the holdup was. He apologized and made sure I was taken care of promptly. I was helped rather quickly from that point on. I did ask to speak to a manager to explain my frustrations. A gentleman came over, apologized blah blah. I asked him why this happened to me. Not why does this happen in general but what specifically happened to me and why was I overlooked in this instance. He could not answer that question. He assured me it should not have happened and he would do what he could to prevent it from happening to someone else. I say all that to say, I'm not switching to Android and any crap like that. The previously simple work of updating the OS of my new iPhone (a 14 Pro this time) and restoring data and apps from the cloud, was, for reasons unclear, an exhausting, bug- filled experiment. They blamed their WiFi, having too many customers in the store, and the size of the OS update file. The staff did their best. They were clearly uncomfortable with the "process" I was put through. The manager was unapologetic, and seemed to wonder why I was troubled about being there for three hours. However within a minute of walking in the person that greeted me and checking in had resolved my first problem. The second problem required sitting down and talking with the technician at the back of the store. The store was clean and well lit and there were a lot of staff to help people. A clown operation. I came by at lunchtime with an apple phone needing repair (boots only to Apple logo, and I tried the internet-based solutions). I was told I needed an appointment (instead of just dropping it off, like normal repair shops do... though I supposed this is for the benefit of "the Apple experience"). So, ok, fine, they take my cell phone number and tell me I have to wait about an hour for my appointment, and I'll receive a text from them just ahead of when they are ready. So 90 minutes later, and I still hear nothing. I go by, and they act all surprised asking who I am... and then they tell me, oh, you've been rescheduled for 3 pm. This is after I already killed 75 minutes away from my job, hanging around in the nearby shops. Simply infuriating. Especially combined with the intake empoyee's lackadaisical attitude throughout: "oh, that's just too bad" (sarcasm intended). Just poor, arrogant "customer service". I came here a few weeks ago to get my iPhone 7 screen fixed. I was there when the store first opened up. I was greeted immediately and asked what I needed help with. I thought I was going to have to pay the $150 for a screen repair but I was told I had the apple insurance or replacement plan or whatever it's called. I ended up paying $30!!! They took 45 minutes to fix my phone and have it back to me. While I was there, I asked about other products and the people there made sure they have me their undivided attention. What a joke. iPhone X battery needed replacement. Used battery app on phone to make an appointment a week away. Wait to get in store, and then 20 minutes while tech determines I need a new battery. Very quick and easy process for pickup orders so you do not need to enter the store. Staff is friendly and the inside is maintaining covid precaution measures very well. They take your temperature before entering the store, have ample hand sanitizer on hand for customers to use, have marked the floor every six feet so you can be aware of your distance from others, and they have a designated staff member to clean the electronics and tables. Normally it wouldn't even occur to me to "review" the Apple Store. It's not like you have a choice in where you buy your Apple devices. But then I had an "aha" moment and realized you probably DO have a choice in how/where you buy Apple products since most cell carriers provide phones and you can visit any number of Apple stores in different geographic vicinities, as well as online, of course. On 2 occasions within 2017, I visited the Apple store at Potomac Town Center and both times I was literally in the store for less than 15 minutes. I should caveat by saying I wasn't there to browse... I had already done the research on which products I was going to purchase and in what color, storage capacity, size, etc. So I am usually the kind of buyer who would buy online, except my husband gets a corporate discount with Apple that can only be used in-store (to my knowledge). On both occasions, I was greeted within moments (literally... moments) of walking into the store. On the first occasion, I only had to wait about 4 minutes for a sales associate to help me, and on the 2nd visit, there was a sales associate available immediately. On both occasions, the associates were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and very efficient. Normally I am NOT ABOUT that brick-and-mortar-shopping life, but the Apple store is maybe the SINGLE exception to this rule (occasionally I will visit Ulta or Sephora in-person but that is rare these days... only for new products). If you are on the fence about whether to order online or visit an actual Apple store, I recommend visiting this Apple store in particular if you are in the general area. I have been pleasantly surprised by every interaction with them so far this year. read more

After conducting research on my own concerning my MBP's issue I consulted the Apple Genius Bar and made an appt to bring the MBP to the Woodbridge store. I was a little fearful due to the negative reviews. I scheduled the appt received email confirmation and a phone call to ensure the MBP was in hand-off condition. I did have to change the reservation by a day using their url link sent via cell sms but it exceedingly smooth. I arrived 30 minutes early with an appt time of 1145 and got myself checked in. They take the COVID health preparations seriously and that was a big plus for me. The check-in concierge honestly informed me that because I was early the technician would likely not get to me before my time. I acknowledged that I understood that and was led to the door to enter the building. I was asked if I could have my temperature taken and I gave my permission. I was then directed to the right and to stand on the fist horizontal line and a technician will be with me shortly. It is now 1120 and I'm standing first in line and two others are 6' respectively behind me and each other. They got called before me. I didn't take issue with that because as I had an 1145 appt so they, too, had an appt. An inside concierge member led me to the Genius Bar table where the technician would be with me shortly; he was working with another college student right next to me. He came to me at 1148. That was extremely close to my 1145 appt and I was happy. My technician was Patrick and although he new why I was there asked me in my own words. I understood this and we took care of the Apple program free repair of special identified MBP's with keyboard issues. Absolutely friendly, informative, and managed my expectations plus will ship the MBP to my door in 5-6 with a 90 day warranty. This would have have cost over $600. I have the receipt from Apple. Good communications, great service, knowledgeable staff, outstanding product. I'm very pleased. Patrick was my technician and I told him point blank the Woodbridge store does do well on Yelp. I informed him that today he and his team have earned 5 stars because they took care of me in the full sense of customer service. Yes, I would go back to them and yes, I heartily recommend them. The worst manager and Apple store in History! This is my 5th issue at this store! Don't come!! Today I stop by the Apple Store to drop off an iPhone on Friday, February 23. When I showed up to the Apple Store I dropped off the phone they told me they'll call me once the phone is ready. I never got a notification that the phone was ready to be picked up. I returned. The same night at 6:30 PM the front door to the Apple Store was unlocked I was able to enter inside the store. And then as it has some I'm here to pick up an iPhone they told me the stores close. Went in with two issues and had to make two separate appointments. My iPad was not charging and my apple watch was frozen and not accepting the new software updates. The technicians could not resolve either issue. They were very polite and acted like they knew what they were doing but they did not. I was told the iPad could not be fixed. Their solution was to replace the old iPad for $250 or just buy a new one. I was also told the apple watch needed to be shipped out for repairs to the tune of $330+. I came home and typed the issues into YouTube and found solution for both. iPad just needed a hard reset and now works perfectly. The apple watch was also resolved by doing a hard reset, unpairing and pairing. Now my apple watch works perfectly too. Glad I didn't listen to the technicians at the Genius Bar. read more
