Five star service from the many wonderful individuals at the Apple Store in Providence Place! I had to take (and eventually get rid of) my ancient nine year old Mac a few days ago, and I appreciate the team's assistance in attempting to fix my computer and then when nothing could be salvaged (the computer WAS from 2015), helping me find a new laptop to take home. MJ was super friendly and knowledgeable, and Bruce was personable and a delight- major kudos to both of these fantastic employees for making what could have been a stressful experience actually quite seamless and delightful! I was also pleasantly surprised that they do give you the opportunity to trade in your old electronics for a gift card or for cash. I was surprised since my laptop was literally almost a decade old, but you can bet I was at Claire's buying earrings five minutes later! Horrible place!!!! So noisy and confusing! I had made an appointment, on line, but still had to wait 45 minutes to speak to a technician! They expect customers to sit on hard wooden boxes, while we wait! Not easy or comfortable for a senior or anyone with back issues! All I wanted was a new battery put in my phone, but it would have taken 3 more hours, to do so! I hate that store and will never return!!! Apple has a distinct look and feel. The staff is genuinely friendly. Bad thing is appointments don't run on time. Which makes the point of an actual appointment time ridiculous. The wait to see someone was over 30 minutes. Brought it up to Nancy the associate. Not only was she calm and cool, she looked for ways to fix the issue. Other places will just give you the to bad it's policy. She brought Will the manager over, he stated Nancy informed of what was going on and he would assist. Went here Friday at 11am. The lady at the service center was a CUNT. Why are you caring more about your break than serving the customer? Asking other coworkers when you can go on break while serving me. That was rude. Finally switched to a different man who wanted to "make the experience better for us" and he did. I had to wait 1 hrs to bee seen by the technician but they called my name wrongly and when I asked they said that they removed me from the line. Even though they told me that I had to wait more 20 min this was my first disappointment with apple and I don't recommend this store! Maybe I had a new employee? But I suppose he could have just said so and I would have understood. Went to pick up an order and drop off a trade in for a watch. I was asking how to backup my watch and he just took my phone to do it rather than explain it to me. But then couldn't figure it out and another colleague chimed in and explained the watch just auto backs up. He was just super grumpy and it made me wish I had just done the whole thing online and had it shipped. Weird experience because I've always found Apple Store employees to be super nice. read more

Horrible Customer Service! I have spent hours on phone with apple support and my phone has the same issues since when I purchased which were documented. These clowns in the Apple Store said they do not recognize the apple support issues and that they are a "product of the environment" causing the issue. This is my second time going to the Apple Store and at least 10 calls with apple support. I know, you either love or hate Apple. For several reasons, I choose Apple at this point in my life. Because of this, I am so grateful to have this store nearby. 2 years ago, they moved a couple of spots down to this new, bright, large, spacious, clean space, leaving customers and employees wondering how did we ever manage before with a third of the space. The "new" location is just as full as the old one. It might be borderline crowded, but it's still neat and organized. Apple people here are friendly! I have honestly made friends here between having a field trip (teachers, these are free!), coming for events (parents, these are free too - sign up online!), coming with questions, and stopping to browse. I usually buy my phones from my providers, but I have had replacements done here. Quick and easy process. I've also bought my iPad and MacBook here. (Spending serious money? You ARE at Apple, no??? ) At back to school time and Christmas and other times, their credit card through Barclays offers 0% interest. I once had a pixel pop on my fairly new MacBook. I scheduled my appointment and got help quickly and efficiently. I did have to send it off, as my screen had to be replaced, but it was a fairly painless process. I will stop in to browse or ask questions and there is always a friendly soul there to chat and help, even with the crowds. ONE time I walked in and had to FIND someone to help me. One. Time. I about died... I get so spoiled here. I do not consider myself a lemming. If I hated it here I wouldn't say anything nice. But it's not just the shiny things that bring me back, it's the customer service and attention to detail too. read more

It pretty much doesn't matter what the issue is with your phone what insurance you have in the end it will be them blaming the customer and saying something isn't covered and trying to sell you a new phone. They say they fix phones change batteries yet any time you have an issue no matter how minor somehow you NEED to replace your phone. It's pretty frustrating. I had an issue with my hard drive on my MacBook Air and after an unsuccessful reset with the technical staff on the phone, I was given an appointment at the Genus Bar. I arrived a bit early and they told me they can not check me in until 5 min before the scheduled appointment time, so I waited in the back. About 10 min after my scheduled appt, a nice guy from Azerbaijan, helped me. He was knowledgeable, friendly and patient. He got me all set and I was so happy that my laptop worked again. No cost. Just about an hour at the store. Great service, good system. read more

Numerous stops here over the years of having an iPhone product. Seems every visit is greeted with the presentation by the store employee that the defect is a user problem and not a product defect. Phone charger cable that tears easily and can no longer be used. Thank goodness every visit was while under warranty, but it seems they go out of their way to blame a flaw on the user. No accountability with this store or its employees and, in my experience, finding every way possible to blame the customer. If there's anything they've done right on my visits it's that the waits have never been more than ten minutes from arrival. Other than that, each and every employee should be retrained and absorb what the customer is explaining to them rather than jumping to conclusion user/customer is always wrong. Whether it was the chargers being junk or an update causing my battery to run down overnight when not used(they remained in denial of that despite my previous two phones never having this issue, instead "teaching" me to shut off apps running in background - which still never corrected the issue), it just gets to a point where you get worn down from being told YOU are the problem and not the product, and try to find someone local you can trust instead. read more

Purchased a Smart Keyboard two months ago, the keyboard was selected and handed to me by the employee based on the make/model of my iPad -- turns out it's the wrong one and is not compatible. I didn't test it til today and the return policy has long past. Anyone need a brand new Smart Keyboard that I wasted money on because of poorly trained employees? Booked a demo for the Apple Vision Pro and had a HORRIBLE experience. I got there right on time and waited 1 1/2 hours!!! for my demo to start. So ridiculous. Then when I finally tried it the device was super uncomfortable. It was the wrong fit. The sales person didn't care that I was in a lot of pain. She just wanted to take her break or something as she was complaining to another coworker that she had to give me a demo. Ended up quitting the demo early because it hurt so bad and nobody cared. He was incredibly helpful, answered all of my tedious questions, and made sure multiple times I had everything I needed for work backed up on my phone. Not to be dramatic but this Apple Store is truly a hellhole. The employees are profoundly unhelpful. You can tell just from walking in here that the management is toxic. I saw two employees watch an old lady struggle to set up her iPad without helping her because they prefer "self-directed learning" in this store, apparently. Every Apple Store is busy, but this one is always swamped. You have to wait in line to do anything, even to BUY an Apple product. I once waited 40 minutes to drop $1600 on a laptop. Really makes me question my loyalty to Apple and my sanity in general! If you're buying an iPhone I would strongly urge you to purchase from your mobile carrier. If you're looking for an iPad or Macbook, buy online or at Best Buy. And if you need help from the Genius Bar, God help you. Avoid this miserable place at all costs! read more

Prior to this experience I was a loyal Apple customer with my phone, watch, computer and ipad. No longer. I have just spent endless hours dealing with incompetent customer service representatives for an issue that Apple itself created. I recently upgraded my phone online to an iPhone XS and traded in my old device. When the new device came, no box came with it to ship it back. I called customer service, who told me that I was responsible for shipping a trade in. When I asked him to check (because it sounded a bit suspect to me), they told me that after checking with his manager he confirmed that Apple no longer mailed out the shipping boxes. I asked if I could instead bring it into a store to avoid shipping costs and was told yes, so the customer service rep booked me an appointment at the nearest Apple Store (Providence, RI). First of all, your systems should contain notes so that in store employees know why someone has booked an appointment so that they don't have to re-explain their issue. Given that you don't have a seamless online to in store experience, however, I explained my issue the store employee and manager. Both looked as perplexed as I initially had been, and went to investigate how they could collect my phone for me. They couldn't figure it out, but said that perhaps some online process had changed that hadn't operationalized at the store yet. Eventually they charged me what was left on my loan and collected my phone that way - they couldn't explain why they had to charge my last payment, but said that was the only way to collect my phone. With 3 children under 3, I was tired of dealing with Apple reps and wasting time I didn't have so I just agreed to be done with it. Well, the next week a box showed up in the mail for me to send back my old phone. I ignored it, assuming that perhaps it had been sent because the older phone hadn't yet been processed as returned. But then this week, I was charged $300 for not turning my phone in. I have talked to multiple representatives, 3 senior advisors, a sales person, been disconnected 3 times, left on hold without anyone checking in for 45 minutes, was told your senior advisors didn't have managers (do you take us for idiots?) and that there was no way to escalate issues that they were unable to resolve, and told by an incredibly rude individual that I would just have to call corporate if I wanted to escalate. Well, when I called corporate, they sent me back into the hell that is your customer service department, so I am instead commenting here. Not only did I have to retell my story every single time I spoke to someone (doesn't your system have notes?), not one person could figure out what had happened or even make progress on the issue. Needless to say, this has been one of the worst customer experiences I've ever had, and I'm so incredibly disappointed in a company that touts themselves on superior product and superior experience. read more

Brought in an iMac that was having issues, first gentleman was great. He walked me through all the diagnostics and came to the conclusion that I need a new wireless card and logic board. Couple days after waiting for repairs I get a call and turns out it wasn't the hardware but just a software issue. Sounds great! I'll pick it up. I get home, set up and the same exact issues occur. Call the store to try to get back asap, and I have to wait another week. Extremely frustrating. Something tells me if they went ahead and repaired the logic board and wireless card I wouldn't be having issues. read more

I'm going ballistic. I'm going ballistic. I spilled water on my old MacBook and got a new one in May. I leave to study abroad in Australia TOMORROW. 2 days ago, the new Mac stopped working- it wouldn't turn on. I take it to the Apple store. I'm there for an hour. I didn't have to be there lowkey it was kinda dumb. Apple workers are always very nice so I had no issues with the actual employees. The guy working with me asked if I had been turning it on and off a lot and I was like yeah bc my YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu weren't working so I was shutting it down a lot in the past couple days. He was like did u use the button to turn it off? And I'm like yeah? And he's like that's not good. That's like a kill switch for the mac.. you have to shut it down manually. BROTHER WHAT? BROTRER WHAT? HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT? MAYBE MAKE IT SO THAT BUTTON CANT POWER OFF THE DEVICE THEN? WHATTTTTT?! They then tell me to leave it over night so they can run some tests. They call this morning and tell me it's still not working and the next step is to send it to a repair shop. They also say it definitely won't be ready by tomorrow. So, this is obviously an issue. I'm like- well... it lowkey has to be? Idk what to tell u I didn't do anything to this god damn computer brother. And they're like uhhh.. maybe u can get it fixed in Australia and I'm like bruh. I'm like well I have apple care can you replace it? I didn't do shit dude.. and it's not working. And they're like we never replace MacBooks. We repair them piece by piece. So I'm like BRUH BRUHHHHHHHHH BRUHHHHH im gonna have to talk to my parents bc this is rly frustrating and I need a computer for tomorrow. I swear apple products are designed to break like I didn't do anything what the hell. Now we are tryna return this brother to Best Buy to see if that works. Wish me luck because WOW! Brief Line Up Front: This is the worst Apple store I have been too... I recommend ordering everything online and doing in store pick up. Wife and I came here with our ten month old son to pick up new phones. I knew what models we wanted, all I needed to do was buy them and get someone to help us... After putting my name down for what we were told was a 15 minute wait... ended up with us waiting for over a half hour with no help. I love Apple products but these Apple store have to be the single worst experience you'll ever have with any store and it's really a blight on their products. You can't walk into one and get anything accomplished. You have to make an appointment, and it's not around your schedule. You can't walk in and drop anything off. You can't get technical help as a walk in. I'm trying to upgrade a machine I have and I brought it in with me. Took the morning off from work and drove 45 minutes, paid for parking only to be told that the earliest walk-in appointment would be 3-4 hours. Or I could make a time to come back tonight. If I wanted a morning they could do next week. It's entirely possible the system I have cannot be upgraded and I'm fine with that, I can afford to get another machine. They have someone available right now that could help with that.... Having these stores should add value to the brand, but it's totally inconvenient and frustrating. Who works for whom? At least display on the website that your stores and employees are useless without a planned appointment. Maybe a windows machine is the answer, don't know...but since I have some time now I'll go hit Best Buy and see what they have to offer...from my research a windows machine is half the price with even more power than what I was thinking I'd have to buy from Apple. read more

Asked a second time and they admit they screwed up and finally we get to see the "nurse". All we wanted was to have battery replaced. Now we have to wait until 8:45 to get phone back. Do not trust them. I brought my iPhone 6plus in to have them replace a defective camera. When I got it back the case of the phone was all nicked up and the touch screen was no longer functioning properly. I brought my concern to another representative's attention and I was told that the logic board can become faulty, especially on iPhones that have gone through a lot of trauma. The representative then pointed out the nicks that the technician had made and told me that this was evidence of trauma. He dismissed that the technician had made any damage nor was the logic board issue a cause from the technician. I was then told they could fix the logic board for $150 dollars. The moral of the story is to take pictures of your phone before handing it to them. Make sure you keep receipts! read more

The Apple Store is one I don't often come to. I do own an iPhone and iPad, so I enjoy apple products. My fiancé and I first came here in January. His phone was having some troubles so he came in to see if someone could look at it. We were told had to make an appointment to come back. The next available one was in 6 hours, so we could come back. We declined. We weren't going to pay for parking nor try and waste 6 hours wandering around a mall. Life got busy, but fast forward a few months and we called ahead and made an appointment. We got in and taken care of fairly quickly. My fiancé ended up needing a new phone. The employees we worked with were very nice, and we were happy we got everything fixed. We've come in once since and again were greeted warmly. I'm sure we'll be back again soon. read more

The people there act like they're doing you a favor by allowing you to spend thousands of dollars on their products. I went into ask a simple question about a product and I was told no one could answer me because I did not have an appointment and I could come back the next day. Unbelievable. I've always had good service and repair experiences with every other Apple store. I've been warned not to go to the providence store, but I ignored that advice. I figured that all apple store experiences should be the same. Unfortunately, I learned the hard way that this particular store doesn't live to the Apple store experience that I'm used to. I brought an iPad that's still under warrantee in to be repaired. There was no physical damage to the device, but they claimed that there must be internal damage. Keep in mind that this device is in great condition and it has a sturdy case on it. I've been an Apple customer for over 20 years and have taken a couple devices in for repair over the years. This is the first time I've ever been denied a repair of a device that is under warrantee. Avoid this store... it does not live up to Apple standards. read more

What a difference a few years make! My last visit to this store was not good at all, but yesterday's visit was a completely different story! First of all, they've moved into a much larger, brighter and open space. I was stopping in to have them fix my airpods and also to pick up a new iPad. Upon arrival the guys at the front took my information; one of them signed me up for the service and the other for sales. I was directed to go over to the iPad area and was met immediately by the genius. He started typing on his screen and magically the replacement part showed up within a minute or two. While he was helping me the gentleman responsible for sales came over and started to help me with the iPad purchase. Both of these guys were really knowledgeable and friendly and the speed of service was amazing! Bravo Apple!! read more
