Went to the Apple Store at the Providence Place Mall today at 11:40 am, Sunday morning. I looked around, made eye contact with staff, no one offered to help. Asked an employee if I had to take a number to get assistance. He took my name, said 15 minute wait. Set the timer on my watch. While I was waiting another employee asked if I was being helped, explained I was on the waiting list, he checked and said 2 people ahead of me and it would be about 10 minutes and that things were moving quickly. Well 15 minutes came and went so did I. No thanks. Ready to spend $2,300 on a Mac and couldn't even get waited on. My impression is that they just don't care. Making money hand over fist. My advice is to go elsewhere with your money. Best Buy sells Apple products. They're much friendlier and eager to help. I'd recommend Corinne at Best Buy. The worst apple store I've ever been to. I would give a 0 star if I could. I was trying to buy a MacBook Pro but was told that there is a 30 minute wait. After 30 minutes when I went to ask them where I was in line, apparently I was skipped because I was not in the spot I told them I would be, and that I would have to come back tomorrow instead. read more

This particular Apple Store is a chaotic mess, even if you know exactly what you would like to purchase. Upon entering, it's not clear that you need to check in with a magic employee that happens to be wearing the same uniform as the rest of the staff. If you fail to do this forget about getting any kind of service. You might get some awkward moments of brief eye contact followed by a hasty it's-not-my-job-to-help-you look, but that's about it. After I finally got hold of an employee I was directed to the two women managing check in. I was snapped at for choosing the wrong woman to get in line for, only to find out it didn't matter. I waited where I was told and eventually an employee freed up from helping two people with the same product I wanted to purchase. He told me he could me and could only help with things against the back wall - you know, accessories you could pick up and easily purchase. Not helpful and frankly I don't know why that would ever be someone's only responsibility. The entire experience just left a bad taste in my mouth. I waited a little while longer before leaving and making my purchase at Target (where I was promptly helped and treated with care). The employees at the Providence Apple Store had little knowledge of what was going on and there was a clear lack of communication between staff members. I definitely will not be returning. read more

I was very disappointed with the customer service with the store. I came in today to replace my battery and my phone was working perfectly. When I arrive to pick up my phone hey tell me that my phone has water damage and they cannot replace the battery. When I get my phone back, my home button does not work. They tell me that there is nothing they can do about it and that Signed an agreement stating I give them my phone and they are not responsible or any damages to the phone. I asked if the could try to fix the home button and they refused. They kept telling that it's not their fault and that I have to pay $350 to get a new phone. They refused to even try to help fix my phone. I am very disappointed in their customer service. I would never recommend them to anyone. read more

Been dealing with apple support for 9 months due to a lost password. Unable to get any resolution. Every new e-mail was for a new date to correct weeks g=down the road. Finally went to the apple store in Providence and was able to get my phone reset. Maurice and Christian were able to get the password reset done in 1 hr. (apple support 9 months with no resolution). They were great to deal with to get my phone fully usable again. Thanks Again !!! read more

Even Steve Jobs' douchebag ghost was appalled at the crappy treatment I got today at the Apple store in Providence Place mall. Let me say first that the salesperson was fine, he walked me through what he needed to walk me through, and then he said, "I'll take you over to the Genius Bar for set-up help." Friendly Yelpers, let's put a pin in the term "genius," because we're gonna come back to it later. So he takes me over to the Genius Bar and he says to the Genius, "This is JJ and she just bought her phone and I told her that you would walk her through set up." And what does the Genius say to the salesperson? She says, "well, that should've been covered when you sold her the phone." I was a little surprised to hear here berate a colleague and diss a customer so summarily, but then again, Geniuses can be kind of moody. So she turns to me and says, "basically if you just hit 'on' it'll take you through all the steps. Really you could just go home and do it; YouTube has an Apple video channel now, so you don't really even need to be here. You can just go through all the videos online and figure it out for yourself." So I said "well I'm here now, so I'm gonna stay here and if I have any questions I'll let you know." And she shrugged and then went around the table, where she helped a guy about 20 years younger than me. And when I say "helped him" I mean she literally stood behind him looking over his shoulder and said, "now press this, now press this," and definitely did not tell him to go home and use the damn internet. I can't say she was outright flirting with him, tho It was hard to tell whether her eyelashes were fluttering or just weighed down by their sheer volume. But it was either flirting, or she was just blatantly ageist. I couldn't tell. Now granted I had only spent $1000 on a new phone, which I guess is not so much if you can afford to buy dead caterpillars to sit on your eyelids all day LOL. Anyhoo, I said to her I would like to buy a stand and she says we don't sell stands, and I asked "what's that on the wall?" and she says it's a stand charger and I said "well I'll take that then" and she brings it over and I said (to the genius, remember) "is there anything else I need with it?" And the Genius says no. So I buy the charger stand from her and I get home, and right on the box it says it needs a charger, it's only a stand. So my bad, I should've seen that on the box, but , well SHE'S THE GENIUS, RIGHT ? I assumed when I asked she would have jumped at the chance to sell me the charger that goes with the stand --but after all, I'm no Genius. I'm just an old lady that spent $1000 AND WAS LOOKING TO SPEND MORE. So now I need to buy a charging disk to go on this stand --but guess where I'm not gonna buy it ? I'm gonna take the Genius' advice and shop on the Internet for it. What a Genius! read more

I went to this Store to have my MacBook repaired. Apparently the solid state drive was dead. After going there on three separate occasions and getting the run around that they could not find the serial number registered, I finally called Apple corporate who was able to resolve the issue and reset the purchase date. They advised me to go to the this Apple Store again to drop it off for repair. On this third and final occasion I was told there were no appointments left and to come back another day. I called Apple again who will be shipping me a box to have it repaired. This store is a joke. This product is not a pack of peanuts, it cost me 1200 bucks for it, the least they can do is attempt to fix it. I had better luck dealing with them over the phone than with the jabronies at this store. What a complete joke. Their level of service for a premium product is on par with that of a Soviet used car dealership. read more

Despite what it says, I am not from San Francisco! I had the BEST experience at the Apple Store in Providence. Marissa personifies the "genius" in genius bar. She took the time, managed my problems (iphone 11Pro not working with Apple watch) and while waiting for my devices to sync gave me a tutorial in editing photos (BEFORE taking!) It was my first trip to that store and I imagined teaming masses of unhappy people in line for service. While I was there a course on photo taking was underway and I listened in on that. I was never going to be an "Apple" kind of person. I never intended to be in "that crowd." Then I got an iPod. Then changed my Blackberry for an iPhone. Then received an iPad. What the hell? How did that happen? Soooo......I wanted the case (folio for you word geeks). Went to Providence Place Mall to teh Apple store. It's very clean. Very antiseptic. Very chic. I guess. Super-nice Apple employee guy asked me if he could help. Yep. He directed me to the many available choices. I asked his opinion. He was honest and did not try to upsell me at all. Picked one out. Piad for it by credit card right there. He e-mailed me the receipt. I was out of there. Wow. Could they have made that transaction any i-easier? I doubt it. Still, they only get 4 stars. Why? My iPod died for no apparent reason. Never dropped. Not abused. Nary a scratch. It spent most of its life in my car. The tech was baffled. Fix it? Ha! No man. It's a disposable society. Damn it! Bt I did get 10% off the new purchase by recycling the old one with them. read more

We have purchased two phones here. Both times we had great service. This time we were helped by Krystal. She set everything up. Explained everything thoroughly and did not try to upsell us anything - which is what keeps us coming back instead of buying through our phone service provider. Well done read more

Terrible process. I made an appointment and then had to wait in a queue to check-in to then wait at a table. The individual helping me wasn't very patient but it seemed that it was because he had other people to help at the same time. I would have appreciated knowing some of the things that I needed to do in advance, and then how to reverse them when I picked up my phone ie. turn off "Locate my Iphone". I felt like an inconvenience. When my phone was ready, I went to the mall to pick up my phone and at the same time there was a fire drill happening so the store was closed. I tried calling the store number but that was routed to a location where the person answering wasn't even at the store. She had to then put me on hold to call the store and find out when they would re-open after the drill. Picking up the phone was a nightmare with a queue outside the store that I had to wait in to get to the queue inside - just to pick up and pay. I went to the Apple store (and made an appointment in advance) rather than going to an independent store for the screen fix because I thought the experience would have been better. Unfortunately it was really terrible. There has to be a better system for drop off and pick up outside of making an appointment online. I would think that at a minimum those who plan ahead should be able to be seen right away and not have to wait in line behind those who are just stopping in. I will only go to the Apple Store in the future if it is my only choice. read more

I took my $1999 to the Apple store online. The place is always crowded. Not with buyers, oh no. Zara just opened up a multi-level store in this mall. I am a HUGE fan of Apple products. I had to say that because it's what keeps me coming back to this Apple Store - it's not for anything the store is doing as a spokesperson for their employer. It seems like I ALWAYS have to wait just to buy something, and I can't ever tell which color of shirt is the person that can help me. Is it orange? Blue? LIGHT BLUE? AHHHHHHHHH. Everyone is right about the people in there thieving Internets. It's pretty annoying and keeps the store in a dull roar. It does however make for some pretty funny people-watching (assuming you like looking at gold teeths and girls wearing hip hugging jeans, even if their hips are spilling over the top of them). At the genius bar, it's been hit or miss. A couple of times my girl and I have been in there and they haven't fixed the problems - and worse, they sometimes treat you like you're a moron. Once an Apple "genius" told my girlfriend that her mouse wasn't working because she had too many bookmarks in her web browser. Really? If I had an alternative closer than Boston, I'd go there. Seek out other locations. NH has amazing customer service... same with many MA locations. This location is the most subpar store I've ever walked in. Extreme chaos. Unfriendly welcomes... give your appts away if you at one minute late (and thereby forcing you to wait over an hour)... unwilling to work with you. The location is also awkward and difficult to get to... and you have to pay for parking. Overall, extremely poor customer service. Worth it to skip going here and instead, going on a beautiful drive up north to receive some friendly smiles and amazing customer service. Avoid this location. read more

You walk in. You tried to come in once before, but it was a weekend and you could barely get past the doors. Tonight is a Monday night. The entrance is deceptively clear. You're greeted by a chipper, red-shirted girl who asks what you need. You say you made a service appointment. She leads you up the thin aisle, between tables neatly set with Apple products. The deeper you go into the store, the more crowded it becomes. The long, thing room seems to shrink around you. You are introduced to another person in a red shirt with a iPad. You tell him you made a service appointment. He taps away on his screen and you fidget from foot to foot. Are there more people in here than there were a minute ago? Loud voices bounce off the metal walls and jab you like prodding fingers. He tells you no "genuises" are available at this time. You snicker at the pompousness Apple has at calling their store associates "geniuses" and wonder how he can say it with a straight face. You're told to sit at a crowded table with the others and wait your turn. As always, in waiting situations, you turn to your trusty iPhone. Names are called (not yours) and you wonder why they bother making appointments when they make you wait longer than you do at the doctor's office. You check Facebook. Again. More names are called (not yours) and more people crowd into the store. A bead of sweat rolls down your cheek. You can feel the anxiety setting in. This would be your own personal hell if they started feeding you brussel sprouts and made you watch Fox News as well. You start to hate yourself for allowing yourself to be treated like cattle all for the sake of this tiny, handheld computer. Ten years ago you lived very happily without it. Now you wait in a long, thin sarcophagus and fidget like an expectant puppy at the shelter for you to be chosen by one of the "geniuses". Finally, your name is called. You meet with a bearded, 24-year-old hipster with an iPad. He asks you some questions. You answer them. He runs a diagnostic to tell you what you already know, your phone is broken. You're also screwed. There's nothing they can do except sell you another one. He tells you at least he didn't make you wait an hour and half to tell you that, like you should be happy they're trying to rip $600 from your pocket now, instead of 2 hours from now. You bite your tongue to keep from swearing at him. It's not his fault. He's just another cog in the machine. You take your broken phone and storm out of there. You're happy to finally be free, but you're also angry that they won't fix your phone. You swear you're going to get a Samsung, or something else, but you know that's not true. You also know it won't solve the problem. No matter what phone you get, you'll have to sign up for 2 years of service. You'll always be owned by someone unless you move to a cabin in the woods and live a self-sufficient, disconnected life as a hermit. But you also know that won't happen. So you leave, feeling angry, disappointed, degraded and disgusted with yourself that you're going to let them win. You're going to pay the $600 dollars, and you're going to continue to be a slave to the technology machine. But you're going to order the phone online, because by God, you are never going into that store again. read more

I had heard that Apple was a warranty cheat. Today I had my experience. Even though no water had ever been spilled on my laptop, the 'Genius' insisted it had, because there was corrosion - as of corrosion only happened when someone spills water. It was a rip off. I will avoid being ripped off by Apple again in the future by never buying any of their products and by working to make sure no project I am on buys any Apple equipment. After a morning of fighting with Verizon I broke down and went to the Apple Store for the first time. Let me tell you how scary that place looked to me! There were more people in there then the food court. I was greeted by a nice employee and told them I was a Apple Store first timer--they walked me through how to get checked in and told me that it's not as scary as it looked. The guy who checked me in at the tech area was nice and told me worse case possibly of time for waiting. Which was 50 mins. Ended up being like 30 mins. And they quickly texted me. The guy who actually helped me was very nice and knew how bad of a jam I was in. I felt like they took good care of me and got me a new phone for my husband at a reasonable fee. (I ended up fighting Verizon more and they credited my account half of the fee for the new phone since it ended up being their error that the line didn't have insurance. #squeekywheel) read more

Went in for a new case for my daughter's new iPod. Had to ask for help since the accessory section was not clearly labeled for phones or pods. I had the worst morning with my iPhone- being locked out, unable to restart, forgetting all passwords. I reached my breaking point and walked into the Apple Store in Providence. Everyone I encountered was so helpful and calming. A SPECIAL thanks to Laddy (not sure if I spelled that right?) who fixed everything and got me on my way. He was patient, knowledgeable, and smart. I'm a PC guy and can never envision switching to the MacBook, but my recent experience at this Apple Store has restored my faith in customer service. My wife has a MB Pro and it had been running slow for months, so I made an appointment online for their "Genius Bar" (super easy) and when I arrived at the store I was checked-in and told to wait for a "genius" to call me over. I was motioned to the bar pretty much on schedule, and the associate first performed a hard drive check and when that came back ok we decided to reformat the hard drive to see if that would speed it up. After my computer was restored to factory condition I couldn't believe how fast it was running. Score! I then asked him how much I owed. Nothing? Score! I was thinking I'd owe at least a standard fee for the consultation but no, the 45mins it took to get my wife's MB Pro back to normal was gratis. Sweet. I wanted to make a joke about the Genius Bar but you know what, the guy that helped me (Josh) was super nice and super helpful and because of that I have a new respect for Apple. I might be a PC guy but Apple has customer service down to a science. read more

Why is it that I always find myself in a city where there is only a single Apple Store in a 50 mile radius? It's nice that it's in Providence Place but it's also sucks that it's in Providence Place. I'm always looking at Apple products which is terrible since A. they are terribly expensive and B. I have to go to Providence Place which means I end up shopping at other stores too. BUT they are so pretty and I like to support my Silicon Valley company any way I can. So I open my wallet. You think that most Apple stores are pretty standard. I've been to many including all those in the SF Bay area and in other countries and this was the first time the front door person offered help and FOUND me help. Maybe I'm scary looking normally? I don't know but they were helpful, quick, efficient and to the point which is what I wanted from someone I'm about to donate my life savings to. They aren't as big as say your Stanford/Palo Alto stores but I going on a Friday I didn't think it was overly crowded. There were people there but there were also many people there to help. I lost my parking ticket there and they kept it for me when I came back which I believe at least deserves a half star but alas Yelp doesn't permit that! Good sturdy, pretty products. You will soon find out that you are paying for aesthetics and the ease of use of the products and nothing else. They seem to have gotten a very good foothold on the population especially among the younger people. I hope that even after Steve Jobs passed away that they will continue to innovate and come up with revolutionary products and not go down the path of Microsoft. read more

I have a love/hate relationship with the Providence Apple Store. Their customer service is top-notch, the Genius' at the Providence Apple Store are courteous, informative, and caring. I have never, ever had a less than stellar customer service experience at this store. However, that doesn't mean the Apple Store *isn't* a claustrophobic nightmarescape. If there was ever a way for them to buy out a bigger space at the mall so that getting around isn't so challenging, that would be wonderful. I have scheduled laptop check-ups at their store that required me and my genius to cram up together in the corner with no tablespace to work at because of the overall lack of room. Scheduling service ahead is a *MUST* at any Apple Store and this one especially because you do not want to be there taking up space, waiting for someone free to help you out because no one is free. I go to this Apple Store because it's only 20 minutes from home but if you can get to either the Natick or Boston locations they can give you the same help with more elbow room. read more

Despite my replacement going smooth and free, I had to knock one star off because of a few hiccups. Every Apple employee I interacted with were excellent, extremely nice and helpful! Especially with how backed up they were, it pays to be nice because I was able to get an appointment within an hour. However, I ended up doing laps there with no money or phone for 3 hours. If you have to come for a repair, try to be prepared to wait! My phone bricked on me, so after frantically going to my carrier, I had to come here. I don't have a home computer/access to anything, so I had no idea we needed an appointment to show up. I go up to their their party security and explain to them how am I supposed to be able to get in if I have no way of making an appointment? They were extremely lazy and rude, and did not know anything about the line processes. Or that's how it seemed, because they looked at me like I was speaking another language. Eventually his other guy comes over and I'm getting a little more frustrated trying to ask them this question, and he's smirking at me telling me to calm down with his hands. Then they just point to the blue dot line, and mumble something. I understand they deal with a lot of old and/or angry people with broken tech, however they should also know they are working with customers and should be courteous and professional. The one woman that relieved one of them, however, was extremely nice. One other complaint I have is that one Apple employee falsely told me that apple care would not be charged till the end of the month, so I decided to add it on. Well, it charged me and I was almost unable to get out of the lot because I had no cash. They are doing great for backup during the pandemic, however they should make sure all employees are informed about policies and not trying to get money out of a free replacement from a limited warranty. They should also hire a better third party security, who are professional, calm, and courteous. They also made me very uncomfortable after, because they were staring me up and down like I was "suspicious". I was just a frustrated tiny woman who was belittled by two egotistic security guards. Horrible and absolutely nasty employees at this Apple Store. I went in to see how to get pictures from an old iPhone onto my new iPhone and was told I needed to pay for upgraded storage on iCloud and turn on Photo Library. Two days later my pictures were still uploading and nothing was happening. I called Apple Support and spent 5hrs on the phone with 8 different specialists. All of them told me that the employee flat out lied to my face and you did not need to pay for upgraded iCloud storage. The specialist told me to go in the next day and request to speak with the manager. I arrived right when the store opened and was told it would be 2 1/2hrs before I could be seen. Expect a text and then check in with someone. Over 3 1/2hrs later I finally spoke with the manager who told me my 3 month old MacBook was the problem. He referred my to a genius who told me to turn iCloud Photo Library and it should fix my phone. Instead it erased my MacBook and undid everything that I fixed with a specialist over the phone. I can't speak for every worker there, but the experience I had at this store was dreadful. From the moment I walked in I knew something was wrong. The 'genius' asked me to prove that the purchase of my computer--asking for receipts. She furiously doubted that I was on Apple Care (when I know for gosh sure I have Apple Care). I provided my various evidence after a few minutes of digging through online records. I've been Apple Stores plenty of times, and I know that they keep ample records of things. I'd been with the very same computer, in fact. I knew the records were there. The doubt never subsided. The woman I spoke with was rude, argumentative, and condescending but without reason. She was unaware of policies (less aware, it seemed, than I was) and unable to locate any policies. The manager had to be called, not out of anger, but out of necessity. The woman I spoke to insisted that I dropped my computer. Surprise: I did not. There was no thrashing around of this brand, new computer. I made sure of that. After this woman got the manager, she disappeared into the back. read more

Bring your broken iPhone to Apple and skip the scammers at the Verizon stores. Staff always friendly & helpful . Twice I've had issues that the Verizon store said was moisture damage with no other recourse except a new phone. Both times the apple store fixed the problem on the spot. 1st time was a new speaker for $50 and the 2nd time was pocket lint in the charging port. Only issue is that it's always mobbed and the wait can be a few hours . read more

Really disappointed in my experience at this Apple Genius Bar. I bought an I pad air 2 in August. While using it, the screen went blank in December I made an appt on Dec 19 at 10 am to have it looked at. The Genius Bar employee Eric ( I have his employee number) was rude. He ignored my questions, he didn't explain why the iPad needed to be sent out. When I complained to the shift manager, he apologized but still made me continue my transaction with this same employee. I own an I watch, 3 I pads, a Mac, a Mac book pro, and an I phone. I have been a loyal apple customer for 10 years. I have never been treated so poorly. Disappointed and dissatisfied. read more

Just purchased a new MacBook air with no problem. I'm astonished how easy the process was. In & out after a small wait with a very helpful saleswoman. I've been in here before when it's mobbed & have had a few issues in the past dealing with my wife's iPhone but won't go into details. If I left a review after those few times then I'd leave less stars but after last night I'm comfortable recommending someone to go here. It's always hectic going into an Apple store. If you're serious about getting in & out quick then make an appointment or see one of the staff as you come in to expedite the process. There's plenty to see & touch as Apple is very hands on with their products. read more

I adore apple products, but I have decided to rarely shop in store anymore. This place is ALWAYS a zoo! I find the staff incredibly kind and patient, but I just wish the store was bigger so that I didn't feel so squished all of the time. I have made a few appointments to sit at the genius bar to have items fixed, and the staff there have been helpful. If you need to purchase an apple product, and you know what you want, I'd suggest to do it online or even through a store like Best Buy. If you need an item fixed, like a laptop or computer, the apple store employees will often send you to TriCom in Warwick --- so give the a call first! read more
