What to say about another Apple Store...? Well, most of them are pretty standard and do not really provide much out of the ordinary. I purchased my MacBook at the Beverly Center Apple Store in Los Angeles/ Bev Hills and the staff there probably goes down as the most annoying bunch of associates ever. It was an emergency purchase so I had to live with it. However, I'm glad I can use our local Apple Store here in Vancouver to deal with the little quirks of the machine. :-) During the past 12 Months I needed the assistance of the Genius Bar three times in total. The first time was because of a warranty issue (case cracked - production quality issue), then I needed a repair which they politely gave me a quote for but I decided to repair it at Future Shop with alternate parts as those were 70% cheaper. Last week I needed a network adaptor because my current one broke. I was prepared to pay at least 20$ for it but the nice guy just gave me a new one in exchange. I figured is you are polite but firm you can roll pretty good with Apple. So the premium in price for a macbook is worth it IMHO. I am in no way one of the Apple Fetishists who love everything they carry. The only thing I will ever possess is going to be my MacBook and my iPod. That's it. I booked an appointment for 5:10pm on the app to fix my broken iPhone screen. I showed up, waited only to find out that they couldn't do it because the store closes at 7:00pm and it takes 2 hours.. WHY THE HELL WOULD THE APP LET ME BOOK A 5:10pm APPOINTMENT TO FIX MY IPHONE SCREEN WHEN IT'S NOT EVEN FEASIBLE? It was a waste of my time. Just needed a battery replacement for my iphone 6s. Incredibly complex system, firstly to book an appointment at the Genius Bar. Your website lacks common sense language terms. Tech vernacular isn't needed by the customer simply needing to make an appointment. If I need my Oil changed in my car [a simple task] I can drop into a service outlet and get it done. If I need to have my engine replaced, of course an appointment is required. If I didn't have an Apple product that was not inexpensive, I wouldn't recommend it given the terrible customer service end of your business. Time is money. I estimate that I spent a total of 5 hours of m time to simply get a battery replaced. read more

I've had my ups and downs with Apple, but thats not to say they do have pretty good customer service. I took my macbook in (it refused to turn on) to get fixed, and they fixed it. Quickly, efficiently and painlessly. They even upgraded my OS to the latest version. I think they call it OSX Lion. I forgot the name of the chap I was dealing with, but he was very helpful and a breeze to speak to. I didnt even have to schedule an appointment I just dropped by. But if you have had a bad experience at Apple dont fret! They're try their darndest to give us the consumers the best customer service possible. Sometimes you will find sales reps that just dont care; unfortunately you cant do anything about that. Giving Apple a lousy review would probably not get you what your looking for. What you can do off course is return another day, and I'm sure you'll encounter a more friendly sales rep. Good luck! read more

I used to always admire all the employees here in this location because every time I would walk in I would be greeted with a lovely smile and a positive attitude by every single one of the Apple workers. I used to think that they cared about their clients and always would offer some mutual solution that would satisfy both the customer and company. But a few months ago I booked an appointment with Apple Genius in early December 2016 to address some issues I'd been having about the battery life on my iPhone 6. Note that I haven't even had my iPhone for over a year yet. The same phone that I'm addressing was only 9 months old as of December, and the battery life was quickly deteriorating. Many times my phone would completely die on me at 50%, and I wasn't understanding why because this phone was practically brand new. During my appointment, I was greeted by an Apple Genius employee and I explained to him that I was extremely frustrated at the fact that my battery life wasn't lasting as long as it used to. Basically during this entire appointment, he disregarded my whole argument of how I was dissatisfied with the quality of the iPhones lately, and that because my phone was under a year old, I had warranty, I wanted a battery replacement. He told me no, that was not possible, and they couldn't do that for me. I asked him why? I'll even pay for the battery replacement if I cannot have it for free under my WARRANTY, and he still told me no. Why not? He checked my battery usage and simply told me that i needed to factory reset my phone because I had way too much data, and that a battery replacement wasn't even an option for my phone due to how much "usage" i had. I told him that I've done factory resets on this very same phone and it doesn't work. I also told him that I didn't understand why Apple phones aren't able to function properly without the battery dying with some stored data. I was extremely upset because he did not offer me any solutions whatsoever, neither any reasonable explanations. He only kept repeating of doing a factory reset, and apologized without offering any further solutions even as I said that this appointment is driving me to switch to android. There was a girl sitting next to me waiting for her appointment to begin, regarding the same issue as mine! And she was also chiming in to agree during our conversation. I thought it was poor customer service and felt completely disregarded by the company itself. He didn't even allow me to pay for my own battery replacement for Christ's sake! Super upsetting. I left the store with a bad taste in my mouth and still a shitty phone. I later found out that Apple has been denying customers of battery replacements because they are on a battery shortage. Pathetic. The customer really does not matter to Apple anymore. read more

I really appreciate the genius bar as they have resolved a couple of issues and did not charge me anything. On the other hand if your computer is out of warranty and you want to replace a part, it can be extremely costly. A couple of years ago they quoted me $595 for parts and labour to fix my computer. I went to another computer repair shop and I paid $185 for the same work. The job was done well and my computer has not given me any trouble since. read more

I went into Apple to see if they could shed some light in why my phone wouldn't turn on at all. I told them that I could hear the messages coming through but the screen was completely blank. First off they told me that since I got my screen replaced at another shop, they wouldn't help in the least. So back to the repair shop (not apple), the helpful guy there reset my phone for me and the screen came on, however my id and password wasn't working to reactivate the phone. So back to Apple I go, was instructed to get a phone call from Support. On the phone with support for an HOUR in which they say my phone was registered under a DIFFERENT first name, but same last name as me. Glitch maybe in the apple system? I don't know but my perfectly fine phone that I had for two years could not be activated from an APPLE rep because they said it wasn't registered under my name. Totally furious and will never choose any Apple product again. read more

I try to avoid this place like the plague. The ONLY concern of any employee is sales - if you have an issue, like a phone that randomly exploded and is clearly covered under apple care +, they don't care. At all. A "come back in 2 days" sort of attitude, for what should be a simple, basic replacement. This place is like running a gauntlet full of power tripping, nasty retail people. When I told the manager that wasn't acceptable for something so basic, and that I was going to definitely take this to Yelp, he told me to get out. the genius bar in Pacific Centre was really not helpful compared with the one in metro town. The first thing was the camera problem, which is obvious now that certain numbers of iPhone 6 plus are officially recalled because of this problem. But the "genius" in Pacific Centre asked me why I was there since the camera had no problem because he couldn't see the dark area as I saw! And the second time they finally replaced my camera after I found another guy. Second thing was the voice switch. It was loose and vibrated frequently by itself. I still went to this store because its near my office. I went to there twice for this problem, but they told me to reset the phone, and I did but the problem was still there, and the second time because the problem didn't appear at that specific time frame, a girl told me it asked me to take video to prove that it will vibrate by itself! It was wasting time. Finally I went to metro town apple store and they replaced with a new one. read more

She said she liked a certain kind of Hersheys Kisses from Hawaii with Macadamia nuts. I looked but could not find them for her. Her personality was very pro yet friendly. Puzzled - new phone purchased last week. Charging cable is defective. Should be a simple swap. Check my phone #, see that the phone is brand new as is the charger, and replace. I am now in a 20 minute queue so that Apple can verify that the cable is defective so that they can begin the 5 to 10 minute process of paperwork stating that the cable was replaced. 30 minutes? Really apple? Been a fan for so many years and this is such a poor service experience. 2 stars because you have years of good karma with me. read more

I had my wife's iPhone screen repaired there and less than a month later the screen cracked when it fell onto the grass from her hand (which shouldn't have cracked a new screen)!! We paid 250.00 for the initial repair but when I took the phone to the store less than a month later they said they couldn't help me unless I paid another 250.00 for another screen. I'm pretty sure they didn't repair the screen properly the first time because a new phone screen wouldn't crack that easily. They told me they wouldn't even give me a break and repair it for the Apple care price and that the reason that my wife's screen broke was 100% due to an accident (which seems like quite the claim especially when it was just recently repaired which is suspicious). Even if the phone was gently dropped, I suspect a new screen or a screen that was repaired properly wouldn't behave that way. Just a heads up. You may want to avoid getting an expensive screen replacement at this particular store. I'm not convinced our screen was repaired properly. read more

The customer service here is very condescending. I have been having issues with my phone's battery which hardly makes it half a day even when I'm at my desk at work not using my phone even though the phone is eight months old. The man who "helped" me at the genius bar blamed me saying I need to keep an eye on which of my apps are using up my battery, which I already do. None of the apps are using very much but he totals them up a good number of them saying that is using half my battery life... which implies that in order for the phone to last all day you should not use it at all. He told me my phone was 2% above what they call a "healthy battery life" so I have to wait for that to go down before they will replace it. He runs another test and tells me my phone is likely corrupted and I should do a factory reset and say goodbye. I used to love the apple customer service but in more recent years it seems sales and not product focused so my next phone will not be an iphone. I wouldn't recommend this location unless being talked down to is your thing, in which case you will love it! read more

I had the screen of my iPhone 7 Plus replaced at this Apple Store location less than a month ago. Yesterday, I dropped my phone on a grass field from about a foot up and it cracked even though it was in a protective case. Prior to the screen replacement, such a small bump would not have caused the screen to crack. The Apple Store wanted me to fork out another $250 in less than a month for a product that was clearly faulty. Do they really think I would take that kind of gamble again? Fool me once... Thanks but no thanks - I'll be putting that money towards a new Android phone. I'd definitely consider taking your device to another store to get fixed. read more

This just in. I just met an Apple genius. Mind blowing. Thanks to the genius, I now know when I'm going to die (for those who know and love me . . . SPOILER ALERT!). The new earphone for my iPhone was merely a bonus. I don't know about you, but I love Macs. I'm not a PC-a-phobe. I like both, but there's a different feeling about the service that you get from Mac. Sorry Mr. bubble tea computer guy (I'll wait for the light bulb to come on) . . . but I just want to throw up some props to the Apple Geniuses that Mac uses to help us pinheads who don't know anything about Macs. Anyhoooo, I have an iPhone. Now, although the iPhone didn't increase my sex appeal as I thought it would. No ladies, I'm no more a man than before I got my iPhone. Well, it's only been 8 months since I took hold of my iPhone. I love it. I use it when I ride my bike. There's something serene about weaving in and out of Vancouver traffic with the music in my ear. I suppose it's serene because I can't hear the drivers cursing at me after I cause countless accidents around town. However, slowly and surely my earphone mic and iPod controller died. I thought I'd have a tough time exchanging my earphone/mic. But, noooooooo, dealing with Apple is as easy as going online and booking an appointment with a "genius." The next morning, after booking my appointment with a genius at the Apple store in Pacific Centre, I walk in (without my receipt, mind you) and am greeted by an Apple "newby." Realizing that I have an iPhone, and therefore a preferred customer ;-) I'm ushered to a concierge (Thank you French people for giving us the coolest words). The concierge let's me know that I'll be 5 minutes before my appointment comes up, but I can have a seat or look around. Yes, they'll come and get me when it's my time. It's my turn and I really want to know what this genius would look like. Super crazy large cranium? Big eyes and small hands (much easier to handle the small screw drivers)? What? How? Anyway, even though I don't have the receipt the "Genius" plugs in my phone, assess the situation and says, "no problem. I see when you bought the phone, I'll upload some phone data if it's ok with you, and I'll be right back with your new earphones. Is there anything else I can do for you?" So, I says, "uuuuuuuuh, yeah, I brought my macbook can you have a look at . . . ." He says, "yeah, no problem." Oh, and while you're at it, "why is it when I close my eyes, there's a squiggly line that never goes away, nor does it ever leave?" A few clicks later and everything is fixed. What? He may as well have said abbracadabra and pulled a rabbit out of my butt (full story in my next review). No fuss no muss. It was that easy. Poof . . . magic. 10 minutes and everything is fixed (and clean as a whistle . . . more in my next review). I don't know if this is the forum but I think I'd like to go ahead and offer the Apple genius a bromance 'cause you're geek-tastic, or is that geek-eriffic. Im just sayin' Oh, and here comes the spoiler alert. I'm going to die on April 15th, 2034 at that hands of my own grandchildren. Apparently, I'm a curmudgeon in my old age. I have to give Apple 5 stars as I am in love with all of their products, devices, ideas and have to have them all. I own 3 macbook pros (one for the business, one we stream tv on as it's an older version and one I use for personal), ipad mini, iphone 6+, ipod (use at work for music), iphone 5 (use for my business phone), iphone 4 (use for streaming music at my business on the first floor) and a few ipod shuffles kicking around that I don't use at all. I hate that I am so addicted to Apple, but love them (obviously) at the same time. I can't imagine how much money I have spent at this store alone, as I have smashed iphone screens (got phone replacements for a small fee $$$$$) and lost apple chargers and apple headphones... I have bought 5 dropcam cameras from this location for my business, as well as bought one of my friends a new iphone for a gift. All of the products we have bought from Apple have been reliable (for the most part) and if they ever were to break down or slow down, we have brought it in for a fix up or a replacement (apple care all the way)! Every time we walk in to this Pacific Centre location, it is PACKED. The noise level is through the roof, but it's buzzing and busy and I love it. It's sometimes hard to make an appointment with the Genius bar, but we always end up waiting and getting any issues solved. The only thing I am disappointed with Apple is their lack of introducing a touch screen macbook pro/laptop/desk computer... Like seriously, get on it! I know we're missing Steve Jobs here but there should be some other geniuses employed by Apple to bring this out. If other (dare I say it) - "PC" companies, have touch screen computers, why doesn't Apple? Come on Apple, you can do it! (Better obviously, too!) Yes, I am a die hard Apple fan, and have been for as long as I can remember. And so are all of my 4 family members... and we have converted all of our significant others as well... and our children. One star only because I can't go lower. The customer service at this place is ATROCIOUS, as is the level of attention paid by the technicians. I had to go to the Apple store 4 times in 2 weeks! Visit 1: I cracked my screen and went to have it replaced. After spending pretty much my whole day waiting first for someone to be available then for the phone to come out with a new screen, my phone came out with the wrong front put on. The technician who did it hadn't even bothered to check that it was the right color. So I had to wait ~45 minutes while they fixed it. More time wasted. Visit 2: Upon getting home, I notice that the phone display won't flip from vertical to horizontal anymore, an issue that wasn't there when I brought it in---even with the cracked screen. So I have to go back the next day to have this looked at. I am told there is a manufacturing error that they didn't catch and I have to come back a 3rd time to get a replacement. I ask if they can throw in a screen protector, as I had gotten one after having the screen replaced and don't want to now have to buy another one because they have to replace my faulty phone. They say sure. Visit 3: I realize that maybe my having paid +$150 for a new screen on a phone that should have been replaced was not cool since they really should have caught that manufacturing error with their diagnostics, etc. I ask if there is a way to get some sort of refund, or store credit, or even just that new piece of glass off of the now useless phone so I can have a spare in case this new one has an accident. I am told all of this is absolutely impossible; because the two things are completely unrelated incidents, their hands are tied. The silver lining: the person helping me allowed me to get that screen protector I was promised in my previous visit and I was permitted to upgrade it from anti-glare to invisiglass. That was nice of her. Visit 4: Not even 48 hours after having this phone, the screen breaks. Flashing, flickering screen with double-images of everything jumping all over the place. It's impossible to use! So I go back down there and am told that the screen needs to be changed due to a manufacturing defect. I ask if I can get another screen protector because the last one is now useless to me (again) since I'm getting a new front piece. He says that should be totally fine. Then when the technician comes to show me my new fixed phone, I tell her I was told I could get a screen protector. he says she can't do that. I tell her I was told it would be fine. She says I need to talk to a manager. We go to the manager and he tells me they don't do that---which is obviously not true since they did it last time and said they would do it again. He relents (very reluctantly) and says it's a one-time thing and aren't I so lucky and he will go see what's in the back. When I tell him that last time I was given one right off the wall and want another invisiglass, he says that can't be true and he can only get it from the back. And he tells me that I can only have an anti-glare protector as that was the original protector I was given. You never get the same person to help you twice, and how willing each new person is to help you is dictated by completely random factors. This place has such shit customer service. For all the time I had to spend there because they gave me defective products, they could at least be friendlier and more accommodating. And c'mon, I really don't think a company the size of Apple needs to be worried about financial ruin over throwing in a freaking screen protector. They would be better off worrying about how many people working there are unhelpful jerks. read more

Apple, I am forever yours! I had an issued with my iphone so I thought I'll call Rogers and see what they can do for me to fix my phone. Rogers sent me to The Apple Store instead. Ok, people are still lining up for the iPhone 4s, so don't mistaken that line up for the actual store or technical support. So if you're an Apple Store newbie, you need to set up an appointment with a "Genuis" for customer service. The wait could take about 15-20 mins; for me it was only 5. The "Genius" greeted me, and introduced himself to me. He was very attentive listening to my issues with my phone. He ran a few test on my phone and the results were inconclusive. He offered me a temporary solution, and said if the problem persist, they would give me a new phone. Though my problem was not resolved yet, but I am very happy how well they are handling it. I like the fact that they are like a direct factory warranty and no more return for repairs, like most other companies. read more

Be prepared to make an appointment if you need anyone to help you with a broken adapter or cable. Keeping that in mind their abundance in staff and even further expanded variety of iphone and Mac accessories will just blow you away. (So be warned) ;) Today I stopped in for my 1:10pm appointment made Friday for today. My iPhone 4 to 5s adapter bit it Friday and so I brought it by to see if anything could be done. The on-the-spot statement from the person I spoke with Friday is that they could "squeeze" me in if I waited an hour. Yikes. I was researching international coverage on apple products, about to buy a Mac (or Dell XPS). I called the Pacific Center Apple store, spoke to a clerk who transfered me to sales (Canadian, you'd think). I spent an hour talking to a sales agent. In the evening I was ready to buy and called a Richmond store (pacific center was closed). I found out that everything I learned about prices and the deal I was going to take advantage of (any 5 software packages for 199, with new macbook pro) was complete BS because I got transferred to a US sales clerk. I went into the store to use free wifi so I wouldn't get smacked with roaming fees. The store wasn't busy at least for an apple store. I was asked by and associate did I need help, I told him I was from Miami and just there to use the wifi. I was in the store about 40 minutes and he came and told me that I had to leave. He said there was a 20 minute period that you could be in the store without purchasing anything, it seemed like I was almost being targeted. I saw the security pass by me almost 10 times! Called and arranged an appointment to have a barely worn Apple Watch repaired (the face is falling off). Three days later I arrive at the appointment that was scheduled only to find out that I was an hour late because Apple sent me an appointment attachment in email that created the appointment in my calendar an hour late. The genius bar rep told me I could come back when they texted me in a few hours (which would be at their closing time). Pacific Centre is too busy selling product to assist existing clients with defective product so I have decided that my next trip there will be to return a brand new iPad I haven't opened yet and then shop around the mall for a new phone. Apple broke my 6s with the ios 11.0.3 update. Don't upgrade your iphones or ipads and don't buy the watch. read more
