Ordered my iPhone 12 Pro Max online...scheduled to pick up the next day at my regular Apple Store, once your order is confirmed you will receive an email confirming your order and also information regarding pick-up process etc. you can download the QR code to your Apple Wallet for easy access. Once you arrive at the time that you reserved, staff will check you in and scan your QR code, then you will need to show an ID for verification. i have many Apple products but have now decided I'm done! I went to Apple Store at Richmond Centre as a follow-up to a previous appointment with Samir regarding my Apple Watch. I asked for a new screen which was badly scratched but he said why not wait as your battery life is down to 82 and when it hits below 80 meaning 79 just bring the watch in and we will replace it with a new one. great. so I monitored the watch battery and went back in for the replacement the store claimed they had no Samir and they had no record of the whole discussion. Samir recorded everything on my account while my husband and I watched. the Supervisor today suggested I never had the appointment with Samir and suggested I was confused because I am a senior. They refused to help me. never again Apple. Dishonest and no customer service at all. They obviously deleted the promised replacement from their history and only want to sell you new items. 20 salespeople roaming around in the store and only two techs to be carefully spread among once loyal customers! wake-up time. read more

Do not purchase from this location. Staff are incompetent, untrained and just looking to make a sale. On Tuesday, May 5 tear We brought it our watch to buy or exchange for a new strap that would fit my daughters wrist. We were told this is not possible and that we had to purchase a new watch. we had the watch with us and the associate inspected the watch and told us that we can return the current one for a full refund. so we did just this. We arrived the next day and we were told that the cosmetic scratches on the already inspected watch is not returnable but that with a purchase of apple care, they can replace the wrist strap. I was surprised that this option was not provided to us from the start! 2 days, 1 store and completely different policies and procedures. Manager took no accountability for the lack of competence with his team. This could have been resolved with 1 visit which has now turned into 3 visits. My experience at this location has been terrible. Each visit they were quick to suggest options that required us to spend extra money. I guess this helped their sales quota. read more

Decided to look at some new fruit stuff. This location is towards the S end of the mall. Parking can get a bit crowded, especially since they tore down the old Sears parkade. Try parking on the W (Minoru) side if the E (No.3) side is full. Becuase it was that time of year, the store was pretty packed. The place seemed a bit short staffed. With that said, I saw some staff members fiddling with their devices (didn't look like they were working) but also not helping anybody, despite there being a crowd around them. Even tried making eye contact with them. No dice. Not too impressed. Finally managed to find a staff member to talk with and he was able to answer my questions and send me on my way. read more

I came to the Apple store in Richmond Centre and I definitely think that there is room for improvement in organization. I wanted to get my Apple IPad looked at because it wasn't working and I always feel like I'm going through a Disneyland line up with no ride at the end. I made an appointment and I came back and still some confusion with line up. I always wondered why there is a lot of Apple service providers inside standing around and yet few customers inside, but a long line outside. Bait and Switch. Did not expect that from Apple. Our relatively recent iPad refused to charge. Took it to Apple in Richmond BC and they confirmed the charging port was broken. Would cost $900 to fix, but they would give us $300 trade in value on another Apple product. Went back a week or so later, ready to spend $1200 on a new iPad, and they now refused to give us the trade in because the charging port was broken. The old Bait and Switch. Should you ever find yourself in a mall in this part of Vancouver, rest easy that they do have a big ol' Apple Store. Actually, I think the way it works with them is that should you ever need to go to the Apple Store, you should find yourself in this big ol' mall. Will this Apple Store experience be any different than any of the others? I know for me it wasn't. It's the same old Apple Store experience--minimalist, IKEA-esque, lots of semi-aloof employees, tons of gadgets, and people pawing all over them. I poke fun at the look but I actually don't love store that are too "busy" visually, so I like that it's broken up into different tables/counters and that you can touch the things that you're about to drop tons of dough on, before you actually spend that dough. I don't, however, want to go into the boondoggle that is setting up an appointment with a genius, or trying to deal with them on a weird phone issue, so let's just skim over that. It's enough to say that I don't love it--but I think of that as more of an Apple corporate thing, and not so much a thing with retail stores. Honestly, I think most sales are made before people even walk in the door. So I'm glad there's an internet showroom where we can test drive things, but for me, I'm probably still more apt to buy them online. read more

Unorganized chaos is the words I will use for this store that is one big glorified showroom! Everytime you cross this store all you see is people, and I always wondered what people do in there, I mean really, they don't sell that much, some computers, some phones and some tablets. Yeah sure they teach some classes, but this store always has people in it. I have been to other Apple stores and have been helped right away, and on the most recent visit here, I had one purpose, and now I know, if you 'fanboys' are going to buy the 'fruit that is bitten' don't come here. I look at the high star reviews, and I shake my head, really people's? Have you been in this store, I'll admit, I'm no fanboy, I dislike the drug that Apple has sent to all you crack-addicts out there, but I also have been to some other stores, and have purchased things for friends and have had great service, not this store, not one bit! When you go in here, there is no greeter and there is zero (ZERO = 0) sense of direction. I was talking to a guy who was wearing a black shirt (not the normal blue shirt) with 'business' embroidered on there looking for help as there was no one I could flag down, "I'm sorry, your just going to wait".... ok I just saw you help someone with a transaction before I opened my mouth, and last time I saw... on a Sunday.. no one doing 'business' was buying crap from you at this time of day! I told the guy, I have nothing to ask, I just want to buy something and get out of this crazy store! Really, I don't need to be babysat through my transaction, they need to create an express lineup where you can just line up, get your stuff, and get the hell out of that hell hole called the Apple store! In the end, after waiting there in front of a pointless display table of iPads and iPhones a guy came and said "how can I help you", I asked for the product, they said they didn't have it, and they said they could give me the phone number of another store to call, "Really"? I should drop a 1-star on this review, you can't make the call for me, your not technically advanced to go into the bloody iCloud to check your other stores, nope. Other stores, right off the bat would have someone at the front saying hello, can I help you, and then they would get someone to help me in my cause, not this store, oh no.... not at all. What I do like here is the fact that the staff are generally chill and let me just stand there charging my phone without any bother, the 2 times my battery was dangerously low & I had no charger/cables with me. Since this store is newly opened (2 days as of the time I'm writing this review), the Genius bar seems to be not as booked as the Oakridge Centre location, here in the Lower Mainland. A nice and roomy store in the newly updated secion Richmond Centre mall, this Apple Store is set up like most other Apple Stores (at least like the one in downtown Vancouver and Austin's Domain and Barton Creek locations). The staff (geniuses.. sorry, Sheldon) are friendly (as must be a requirement to work at the store). I talked to one gentleman at this location who told me about options on my iPhone that I did not know existed (and they had nothing to do with the jailbreak). For examples, when locked, if you double-click the HOME button, the iPod feature becomes visible allowing you play/pause music without unlocking the phone. He was also very familiar with my alma mater, University of Texas. The store was crowded since it was opening day and probably will stay that way the next few days as people filter in to that side of the mall. It has all the usual Apple product lines and accessories. I think the design and layout of the store is what keeps people coming back. It's familiar and easy to find the product you want in any Apple Store and this one is no exception. So, if you're an Apple Store groupie and travel between locations, you will be home here. I'd like to see each Apple Store have manager only specials specific to that store such as Canada's London Drug's or the US' Walgreen's. For me, that alone is reason enough to be come a groupie (I visit Walgreen's in every city I visit, even multiple locations in the same city). The thing I like most about the Apple Store is that you can test the equipment (meaning that for any of the music players, I can use my iPhone or iPod Classic instead of theirs). The only thing I hate about the Apple Store (and this is true for most other companies I've visited such as Best Buy, Futureshop, Circuit City, London Drugs, etc). is that you cannot test the headsets (with microphones) or headphones (without microphones) for comfort and sound. I love the service here. Always very helpful in finding the exact thing yah need. This is probably one of the top three apple stores you'll get in BC. Most of their Genius Bar is also extremely helpful. There are other Genius Bars in Vancouver that'll drive you nuts for how stupid they are. But not this one. All the employees are super helpful. Also the fact that the senior management is very nice and listens well to the customer. They're able to make independent decisions. The sales people are always great. They know their products to details and can always answer a question you have about their products. I do think that although many stores in Vancouver don't represent Apple in a good manner, this one does. So in general and in conclusion and in all, I definitely recommend this store to anybody who's trying to get some good apple products or service. read more

Oh what a great experience. I thought Steve Job would raise up from his coffin!!!! Waited for this Apple staff for over 5 minutes to ask for assistance while she was finishing up serving a couples. She didn't seem to be all that engaged in her clients though. Did she take note that there was a client waiting there for her to help. Finally the couples left and she was finishing up her administrative chore. To expect her giving me an eye contact acknowledging my being there.... Hello sir, I am just finishing up and would be with you in a minute. I was talking to myself! I then patiently waited for another minute or so noting that she probably was about to finish her chore. I asked, would you be able to assist me now? "Sorry to keep you waiting. What can I do for you?" I found that I was speaking to myself again. Not a word in response from this lady. I started speaking, does Apple do price matching? I told her London Drug selling MacBook Air M2 15 inches with a $ Off. She kind of say Apple did do matching but won't be doing exact matching. She would have to talk to her manager. I said not sure how London Drug could do this. She said she would not comment. "Did I ask her that?" Silence for 15 seconds or so..... I then asked, are you going to ask your manager? She kind of looking at me as if she was shocked that I was still around. She said, Apple at most offer 5% discount. Wow, she must be a maths specialist catching that the discount offered by London Drug was over a 5%. She successfully sent me away ... Not that I didn't mention her name or kind enough not to mention hers. She never told me her name. I would remember her face though despite there had never been any eye contact from her. Had a terrible experience with this store few years ago. After this one probably would never go there again. Thank you Apple. I went to the store close to the opening time, and there was a line-up due to Covid which is fine and to be expected. The line moved reasonably fast, and there were Apple employees checking what we wanted, and that's when the wheels fell off. We knew exactly what we wanted (just an iPad), but the employee said we need an appointment to do that. I asked why, and the reason offered is that a specialist will explain the options to us. I said we don't need any support; we just want to buy and go. The employee then said we can order online, and pick up in about half an hour. We ordered online in front of the store, and before leaving I checked with another employee about the pickup time. The problem is different employee, different answers! Pickup time may be longer, etc etc. So I asked for the store phone number, and said I will call back in half an hour. Later when I called the store number, and said I want to speak to someone, I got an automated response saying the store is closed, and then it hung up on me. In summary, my experience with the Apple store today is that they have non-sensical policies and incompetent advice. Maybe go to Best Buy or something? read more

went to Richmond store today to purchase a band for my apple watch. the person who helped me messed up my watch. she put the wrong band in on my watch than she couldn't take it off. she has to ask 3 different staff members for help but none of them can take the band off from one side than she ask at the help bar and one of the staff took my watch to the back and came back after 5 mins with the band off. when I came home tried to change the band and now I can't take one side off my watch is messed up. very mad and upset read more

I came here to get my I phone 3g looked at, cause it's not working but I don't want to have to make an appointment to see someone on another day. Can I see someone now? What's your email address? it is xxxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxx.ca Thank you. I'll ask if someone can see you asap. I did get my appointment and saw the specialist. It only took about 15 minutes and it gave me time to reflect on the wonderful Android phone that I was planning on replacing my 3g with. At least the Android will work. hehehe So I see the "specialist" who hands me his card. His credentials? He's listed as a Genius. No PHD no Doctorate, no MBA or even Rocket Scientist. He's just listed as Genius. (smart ain't it?) WTH? And he talked to me like he was a card carrying member of Mensa with attitude. Oh boy, this'll be fun! Solution? He goes to an Apple website, plugs my phone in for diagnostics and tells me what he's reading on the website. (only a Genius could do that) I say that I think it's my Yelp app that could.... be creating the websurfing problems but it's actually ever since the 4.0 upgrade that I've had problems. Prior to that no problem. He says, Yes, it's your Yelp app that is freezing on you. Try these options..... Which I reply that I already have. (and later that night I did it again. results were a little bit better, but then it got all clogged up again). Of course the Genius couldn't admit defeat and that Apple hasn't really done anything wrong. Maybe look at getting an upgrade? Why? Why would I need to break down and get something that I don't really need when I have it already and it should be working? Because I have a 3G which the 3Gs shortly came out just after I got my brand new 3G, and then after that the 4G and soon the 5G. How much more do I need to spend to find something that works and then find out that it's obsolete by the time I get it? Make no sense to me other than Steve Jobs is putting on a con job on everyone who buys an Apple. Just be careful that when you do bite into that apple, it is not always Eden you will live in. Just ask Adam and Eve. (on another note, they do have good product, but there are competiting items that are just as good. Have a look at an orange or a banana. Entering the familiar bright, clean and crisp atmosphere of Apple with their friendly colour coordinated staff is comforting - if you forget about the crowds of people playing with the lastest Apple products. I've had a few appointments with a Genius, and everytime it's been pleasant with their understanding of products/situations and need to ensure you are happy with your product. I enjoy the fact that they have portable credit card scanners so you may walk up to (almost) anyone with a coloured tee-shirt and purchase your item without having to line-up (Because all that time saved is used towards lining-up for the newest iPhone or iPad! haha). Also, I like how they are emailing the receipts - save the environment and no more losing the receipts. I'm happy an Apple store has finally come to Richmond Centre. read more

Every Apple store i've been to has been crazy busy, even on the weekdays! this store especially. On the plus side, there is a butt load of so-called "Geniuses" walking around with their blue shirts and iPads, but take away that iPad and the fancy computers and what do you get??.... Best Buy employee.. just sayin.. But that's beside the point.. they are always willing to help you when u need it no matter how busy it is! I love how u can test out all their gear before you buy it, free wifi is a huge plus, even outside the store!, great interactive games for my little rug rat, crazy accessories like "beats by dr. Dre" cellphone swag, ipad covers, lap top joints the list goes on. The store is huge, very clean and hi tech. all white inside and very roomy..... well.... when it's not crazy up in there.. ;/ read more

Nothing going to an Apple Store just to buy some of the latest Apple Products such as the iMac, iPhone and iPod. Some of these customers here are asking questions about the products. As much as the customer service aspect is doing pretty well, the problem is that the products are part of a brand name that everyone wants. While their products tend to annoy Android users and what not, most of the time, people are either not interested in the technology in the computers and just want an iMac just to please their family or there are people who need an iMac just to work on Music and Art. If you want to come in and just to have fun with the iProducts, be my guest. However, keep in mind, you might as well pay a couple of livers just for these expensive things. read more

This location has it's issues if you need to come in and have your device troubleshooted. I find even though you have an appointment, most of the [genius] reps spend unnecessarily too much time with their customers by providing them "orientation" sessions when they should be focussing what they are paid to do: troubleshooting/resolving the [technical] issue at hand, thus having the customer get on the way as soon as possible. If the customer doesn't know how to use their device, Apple offers (with a separate appointment) free orientation sessions. The genius bar is not the place to ask a million questions on how to use your device or what apps do this or that. Most people's answer's to their questions can be found by using what is called "google". As a result, the waits to see the genius reps are ridiculous at this location. I think in part the reason is how the customer is assigned to the genius rep and perhaps managment at this store. I spoke to people (while I was waiting for a long time in line) who have said to me that waited up to 90 minutes to get their turn despite having an appointment. I waited an hour. The long waits are not a "one off" incident, it appears to happen regularly. The worst part is the employees are typically hovering amongst themselves chit-chatting. Only when you approach one of them do they scurry away like rodents. I feel there is employee abuse at this location because of this "check-in system. Some reps will spend an extraordinary amount of time with that one customer while others have a genuine interest in helping as a many people to resolve their technical issues. There is no harm telling the customer that the genius bar is not a place to learn how to use their device. If the genius reps are given X number of people to look after, a quota of sorts, they wouldn't be having "conversations" and holding people's hands in the store. The genius bar is for technical issues with your device, not for you how to learn how to use it. This location used to be really good when it first opened, but that was long, long time ago. Any positive reviews of this location for "genius service" is very suspicious or doubtful, imo. I would avoid this location if at all possible should you have an issue with your device. I don't recommend, won't repeat. read more

This seems to be one of busier apple stores in the lower mainland area. That being said, they're all usually pretty busy. Apple stores leads the industry in customer service. With a greeter at the door that'll not only direct u to where ever u need to go they'll even find u another specialized customer rep to help u. And no one backs their products like apple does. Something wrong with your product? Bring it in. If they can't fix it, they'll replace it on the spot. So make sure u back up your idevice before u go see them. read more

My parents went to the apple store in Richmond Centre (Richmond BC) to get our computer, iPad and cell fix. The apple guy that helped them was not nice at all. His name was "Mo" I'm not sure how to write his name, he is chubby, disrespectful and didn't have any patience with my parents. On top of that, it was a lady, she looks latino, for what my parents said, she wasn't very nice at all. They didn't want to help my parents and treat them pretty badly. I was very surprised for what my parents told me about the way they were treated. These employees are getting paid to do their job!! If they deal with customers, they need to be able to care for them because we're buying their products. If it wasn't for customers like us, those employees won't have a job. I do not recommend people to go to that location until those employees are gone!!! read more

I have really depended on this store and their staff for their knowledge and expertise. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has shaken that trust considerably and I will, from this point forward, be getting second opinions when faced with potentially expensive situations. I have been an iPhone user since day 1, specifically, an unlocked iphone user. Using unlocked phones has saved me a small fortune for what I consider to be minimal inconvenience. I have gone month-to-month for years now, opting to buy devices outright rather than pay for them over and over gain through some inflated plan. The downside to this, of course, is when your phone gets damaged or otherwise doesn't work, it's your own problem. So, after accidentally dropping my iPhone in the sink a couple of weeks ago, I took all the recommended action...I used a blow dryer on a low heat setting, then into a bag of rice. Within less than a day of this incident, I decided to take my iPhone to the Richmond Centre store to see if anything more could be done while the phone dried out. I made an appointment, and the "genius" assigned to me took the phone into the back while I waited out front. The verdict: the iPhone was ruined. Very specifically, I was told that the inside of the phone was totally corroded and there was no possible fix due to the sheer extent of damage and corrosion inside the phone. Right after this, and I mean right after, the discussion switched gears right away to trying to get me to sign a contract and get another iPhone before I left the store. I explained that I "don't do" contracts, and have never payed for a data plan. Silence for a moment, then the "genius" commented that I must have saved a fortune over the years, that few people do the math, that over the long term it's cheaper to just buy your own phone outright. I then asked for my old iPhone back; I needed time to consider what I wanted to buy to replace it. This seemed to be somewhat of a surprise to the staff member helping me. I guess that a lot of folks must just abandon their damaged-beyond-repair devices at the store and leave with a new one. Anyhow, I got another unlocked iPhone, but still had the old one. A friend's 17 year old son asked if he could look at it. I thought sure, why not. He popped the back off I front of me. I was shocked. There was NO corrosion. The inside of the iPhone was in PERFECT condition. What was wrong, however, is that two wires had obviously been disconnected. He reconnected them, plugged the phone into a charger, and the iphone immediately started to function normally again. My opinion? If this store tells you your device is ruined, get a second opinion, and take your device with you when you leave. I am extremely disappointed by the experience I had at this store, and urge caution in trusting information concerning repairs or damage to devices at this store. If you want to communicate with me and not make me miffed at you, just be DIRECT. That is all I am asking from you "geniuses." So basically my beloved MacBook Pro wouldn't go past the gray screen after I tried rebooting it several times. I've only had it for 2 years, whereas my sister has had hers for 5, and has experienced no problems...albeit, she takes far better care of hers than I do. Anyhow I booked an appointment with one of the "geniuses." I came in and within a few minutes I was at the bar. Now me and the "genius" were waiting for the start-up bar to appear for 20 minutes, then another 15 minutes, where I was told I could stare at the screen or come back in 15. I come back. Don't tell me to come back in another 30 minutes and say that my Mac will be fixed and ready to go. Then don't tell me that after these 30-45 minutes the option of losing all my software is prevalent, when I knew before. Then when I come back again don't tell me that it's going to take another bloody 2 hours or more. You got that? After 5 minutes be both knew that it was likely that I wasn't going to get my files back, which is also what you told me when I explained the situation. This is what you should have told me: Miss, it seems like all your software may be lost, either you can wait around the mall for 30-45 minutes while we try to use external drives to *try* and update your processor, and come back, and see if everything is lost, or you could just give us the A-OK to reboot your computer. I would have picked the latter, and not wasted 2 hours of my time walking back and forth in the store, and another 2 before it was available for pick-up...but I had to pick it up the next day because really, what are you going to do for 2 hours in the RC? Was that so hard..."geniuses?" Mon dieu. I will not stop using my Mac or Apple products, but next time I will go to Oakridge where I actually bought the computer from and have them deal with future issues if need be. I gotta keep this baby in good shape as Apple has stopped making 17" MPB's...which is what one of the "geniuses" told me. I guess they're good for something. :O read more

Always, always, always schedule an appointment if you can. This is one of the busier locations so they're almost always booked full, but in the case of emergencies they always somehow manage to make things work. The touchscreen on my iPhone started flickering and then died so I brought it in to get fixed. Their techs pulled off some magic trick and got the screen working again so I could back everything up in iCloud and then they swapped my phone for a new one. Melissa & Zac, who were basically the coolest and greatest, were the two wonderful individuals who helped us today. After visiting two Apple Stores (Pacific and Oakridge) in order to unsuccessfully buy a bluetooth "magic" keyboard, I decided to call this store to check if they had it in stock. I was told that that they do have it, but they have a limited stock and one cannot be set aside for me. 10 minutes later, the girl on the phone reluctantly agrees to reserve one for me (why else am i calling in the first place?!). Half hour later I am in the store and ask for the keyboard and the guy returns with some beastly big iPad keyboard which was obviously not what i reserved. "There must have been some misunderstanding". It was certainly not a misunderstanding as the one she reserved was well in stock! She knew exactly what she was doing. Staff wasn't really helpful except typical "it wasn't me" bs. On a side-note I ordered the keyboard online and it will be more than a week until it is delivered! In the meantime i bought a logitech easy-switch keyboard which is actually better than the apple's "magic" one which i will be returning right after it arrives. AVOID this store like a plague. They are not up to the Apple's standard. I understand mistakes happen, but i cannot justify this one not being an intentional one. I wouldn't trust them. read more

Acted quickly when my laptop battery had an issue. Over the course of three days, a new battery was ordered, transfered from one store to this one, and installed for no labor charge. I did have to pay for the battery, but it was only a tiny fraction of the laptop's original cost. I have bought many other things from here too; iPhones, accessories, and gift cards, and all the staff were friendly, fast-acting, and make you want to come back again and again. read more

I purchased a Belkin USB - Lightening cable on behalf of my teenage son in Sept 2014 at the Richmond Apple Store and it stopped working within a few weeks. As we do not live close by we could not get back to the store until mid October. I thought no problem the Apple store would honour the products they sell. NOPE after 14 days you have to contact the manufacturer for support and this is simply the store's POLICY. Any other customer orientated retail store would just simply replaced the item. Apple store not only lost my future business but turned off an even younger potential customer with this experience. My new apple purchase policy is: DO NOT buy anything at the Apple Store that I can get at ANY other retail outlet with a solid customer satisfaction policy. If you don't think this is true, ask them before you buy as they don't inform you before you purchase non-apple brand products. read more
