Rude. I can't stand the In-Store Apple Experience but this one was the worst. Big, clean, and who cares.

We had an Apple Mac ( old one) and about 5 old I-phones that we wanted to have cleaned and donate for recycling. I called ahead and the very nice Emmanuel said come on in. Easy and non stressful . I'm confident all my information was deleted and the equipment is being recycled. Just easy and pleasant. Horrible customer service and horrible company. I'm in the area and my phone decided to stop working. I have apple care which is supposed to cover a replacement phone. After waiting a good 25 minutes, keep in mind I have an appointment, the apple employee concluded my phone is not working. He informed me that no one in Florida has the part I need to repair my phone, nor a replacement. I asked if I can upgrade my phone the answer was no and I'm pretty much out of luck and I need to buy a brand new phone. I asked if I can upgrade my phone he said no because he was unable to turn my phone on that I still have to buy a new phone. My phone is under warranty and it's not my problem they don't have the iPhone 15 pro max in stock which is only two years old. I'm canceling all our apple care on our devices because it's pointless to have! Finally after a couple of hours I found a Verizon store that was able to help me get a new phone! read more

I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be a deceptive and unfair warranty practice by Apple Inc. in connection with the diagnosis and handling of a defective iPhone that remained under the manufacturer's express warranty. I owned an iPhone 15 that was still within Apple's limited warranty period. The device exhibited severe and abnormal battery drain, rendering it unusable after only several hours of normal use. I contacted my wireless carrier, T-Mobile, and was advised that because the device was under Apple's warranty, I should seek service directly from Apple. I subsequently visited an Apple Store for warranty evaluation. Apple personnel informed me that there was "no issue" with the battery hardware despite the abnormal battery performance. I contested this conclusion based on the device's real-world behavior. Apple representatives asserted that the issue was caused by "software" rather than a hardware defect and recommended that I perform a complete device wipe and reinstall all applications from scratch before Apple would further address the issue. This proposed remediation imposed a substantial and unreasonable burden, requiring several hours of uncompensated time and disruption. I declined and noted that if Apple's diagnosis were accurate, then a newly purchased iPhone running the same operating system and applications would necessarily exhibit the same battery drain. Apple personnel did not provide a substantive response to this point. Because Apple refused to repair or replace the device under warranty, I purchased a new iPhone at my own expense. I installed the same operating system version, restored the same applications, and resumed the same usage patterns. Under these identical conditions, the battery drain issue did not occur. The replacement device functioned normally. This outcome directly contradicts Apple's stated diagnosis and strongly indicates that the original device suffered from a hardware defect that should have been covered under warranty. Apple's refusal to honor its warranty caused me financial harm and forced the replacement of a device that should have been repaired or replaced at no cost. I am concerned that Apple's conduct reflects a broader practice of attributing hardware defects to nonspecific "software" causes in order to discourage or avoid valid warranty claims, particularly where the proposed remediation imposes an unreasonable time burden on consumers. If systemic, such practices may constitute unfair or deceptive acts or practices under Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA) and undermine the purpose of express consumer warranties. read more

They rescued me!!! Should be five stars for that. But it is a challenge to make a reservation online when your phone isn't working (couldn't do it on another device without having access to my phone)! This made it a more stressful than it should've been, wondering if I could even get an appt. or how to set one up when my phone didn't work. The other issue is that I definitely felt a bit rushed. But the Geniuses were definitely on their game and had enough problem solving acumen to get my phone up and running again! Thank you, thank you, thank you! It's also cool to see and try out the Apple devices. I use an Apple phone so I can Facetime with family but find the Appleverse constraining otherwise. Very Hivemind. I am so glad this Hive was able to get my phone working again and helped answer my questions. If I was older or slower (I am pretty old and slow) it would have been more scary, but I remain assertive and nimble enough I was able to get the job done! Thanks again. "Genius" Bar, what a misnomer! Made an appointment because of a problem with my Mac, after unsuccessfully trying to fix on my own. After a long wait (what's the point of making an appointment?) The "genius" did exactly what had done at home, couldn't figure out the problem, his solution was to erase my drive because he thought it was a software problem but really had no idea! I took my computer and ran! Apple's hardware is beautiful but with terrible software and mediocre customer service at the UTC store. read more

Initial salesperson was efficient, polite and well-versed in the products. Once we were transferred to "setter-uppers" things became dysfunctional. "Setter uppers" were rushed, officious and less than accommodating. One "setter upper" with lots and lots of body art appeared overwhelmed and ill-suited for a customer service position. This person was introduced as a "trainer" . (Hopefully not training anyone in customer service). The transition to a new phone can be somewhat overwhelming to non-techy types (like us). When asked for additional help, the "trainer" said she couldn't touch any customer's phone. (That didn't seem to matter when they were dealing with others who were in similar need-touching all of them). A VERY BRIGHT SPOT was Tom Ekstine, a member of management who came to our aid and walked us through our multiple issues. We left feeling much better after Mr. Ekstine's GREAT approach and demeanor. He really knows his stuff. A+++++ for Tom Ekstine. Raspberries for the "trainer. Had it not been for Mr. Ekstine, we would have walked and kept our old phones. read more

Incompetence to the max. Scheduled appointment to get the battery changed on two of my phones. One of them the iPhone 8 they said they don't make a battery for it anymore. I'm out of luck. Try calling around to see if any independent phone dealers have one left. The iPhone 12 Pro Max they proceeded to take the screen protector off, then tell me they can't get the screws undone cause they're rusty so they can't change that battery either, I need to just upgrade. Really? There was no need to take the screen protector off that had been on there for two years working perfectly fine. I said are you gonna put a new one back on and they said no you can go out to the kiosk and pay 50 bucks and get them to put one on. This is a company that makes billions of dollars a quarter ....Never going back. When this phone dies, I will not be buying another Apple product ....while I'm at it these continued so-called upgrades are a nightmare to navigate through when you're looking for photos or driving, and all the sudden nothing's where it used to be and you have to "relearn" how to use your goddamn phone. I needed a new battery in my MacBook pro. a couple months ago I saw an ad on TV For the Apple 'all day battery'. Took my Mac to UTC Apple Store & Asked about getting one. The tech I was assigned said he hadn't heard about it, ordered a standard apple battery. It discharges 50% in 1 hour; 75% In 3 hours. I can't really disconnect the charger because before I know it the battery is dead & THE Mac shuts down. That can't be good for the battery. Also, I Said there was something wrong with my USB_C ports. He ran a diagnostic & said there was nothing wrong with either USB Port but when I pit a data stick in either, it doesn't show up as a destination in 'finder'. Can't recharge using the top one. He told me if I didn't like the service there I Could use Best Buy Geek squad as they are authorized alternative. In the future I Think I will. read more

Had a great experience today at the genius bar. I had an appointment and arrived about 25 minutes late. Oops! Lol Despite this, they still took me and got me all taken care of. The staff were all super friendly, they took care of my issue, and I left a happy camper. Not a single thing wrong with my experience at this store! Kudos to the friendly staff! read more

Was visiting friends for the day and only wanted to go to one store and then noticed the APPLE store. We live in by Naples and have one there as well but what started off with a question on how to connect the air tag I bought a month ago to my wife's iPhone, turned into a great rapor with the salesperson, KYLE. Very professional, tech savvy, personable and a great sense of humor. Can't get better than that. I decided to buy more air tags and he hooked us up with that and explained what to do with the others I have at home to connect to other items. I had been doing everything wrong. I could not stop laughing over things we three were talking about. It was the most pleasant and funniest encounter. Standup comedy is a hobby of mine and we so appreciated the humor as well. We're two non-stop talking, laughing New Yorkers who have no goodbye skills. Who knew buying air tags at 10am would turn into fits of laughter. Spoke to Apple support and the let me know my new MacBook was at the store and would be available to pick up today. I arrived at 7pm( they close at 8pm) and the let the employees know that I was here for a pick up. They looked it up but told me to call the local number to talk with someone in the back. I called the number and they said they were unable to see its status and to speak to the employees again. Wasn't in the mood of wasting anymore time and left. read more

Best option was just to buy and completely new watch... So I decided to wait for a sales rep to purchase a new watch and had to wait again as a new customer even though I already had a genius appointment. Walk in were seen before me. I felt like a ghost. When they saw my frustration they were rude and had attitudes. Told me to move my seat where I was sitting for some odd reason. Avoid the University Town Center Sarasota Apple store. Worst customer service, no one in the store wants to help they all just stand around doing nothing. Waited an hour at the "check in desk"after checking in finally asked to speak to manager. Eileen the manager refused to come out from the back and deal with the issue . Everyone in that store should be fired and Apple should close the store. The staff is useless. Instead of buying 2 Iphone 16's and upgrading 2 phones to the 16 and buying an IPAD we left empty handed and frustrated. I will be calling Apple headquarters and advising they look at the reviews of this store and either fire everyone or else close the store. read more

So, my new iPad keeps freezing. I'm bringing it to this store for them to fixed it, the tablet is not even a year old, the one year warranty expires on Nov 3rd. They should exchange it, because it's obviously defective. But no they want me to purchase apple care, in other words spend more money. That is bad customer service!!! Not happy at all. Oh my gosh, what a circus!!!! Just needed a hard restart on an Apple phone whose screen was not responding. Watching these "techs" try and get codes, remove the sim card and play around trying to figure out what to do was a comedy act!!!. I cant believe they get paid to do this. Three different people couldn't figure it out and ignored my request to plug the phone in and force a restart. They wanted to charge me $200 for a new screen!!. I left and figured it out myself (with the help of some very knowledgeable online sites) and yes you guessed it, I was able to restart it on my own. What a major waste of time for something so simple... No matter how nice they were, it did not make up for their incompetence. read more

Even with an appointment it takes forever to see a "Genius" so come with lots of patients! I've been to this store at least 50 times to feed my Apple ecosystem so I know it inside and out. I can't wait until they do the remodel! We arrived a bit early for our appointment. My watch died and couldn't resolve it over the phone and the first available appointment was 4 days out on a Saturday night. I can think of a lot of things I'd rather be doing. Anyway, one of the greeters told us we were too early and we needed to come back at our assigned time and since I'm sitting here waiting (now well past my appointment time) I am doing this Yelp review. Took my phone to Apple UTC in Sarasota to get a new battery. I hate going there. Service is abysmal. Changed my battery on my thermostat. It took 30 seconds. But to change a battery on a "high tech device" you have to make an appointment days in advance, look for someone to check you in when you arrive, be told to sit a a desk until someone comes to help. Sit there for over 30 minutes while the techs all ignore you and have to interrupt them helping someone else before they provide any info. Then when they're finished helping the other person the tech comes over and says thanks for your patience...you are next. Wait another 5 minutes for a tech to finally help you, then after a few keystrokes tell you to come back in 3 hours to pick it up. Imagine if you had to do the same to change your thermostat battery or your remote control battery. For a tech company, they don't know shit about organization or customer service. The first guy could've taken the phone and told me to pick up later. Also, somebody please make a phone where you can change the battery at home. Not too smart of a smart phone. read more

I am an Apple fan but man this store is bad. I went to get a protective cover for my I14pro. I was sent over to a tech who in turn turn me to someone else as he wanted to take his break whom in turn turned me to someone else!!!! They were out of screen protector ??? Then I was sent home with the wrong case. Got home realized that I was given the cover for the 14 drove back to the store. Spoke with the first tech that I had seen ( he recognized me I was gone for only 40 minutes time to go home and back) explained my problem another tech came and said make sure this dude has a receipt. Ridiculous, then I was explained that it wasn't really their fault as some tech misplace the items on the wrong shelf!!!! Really .....Very bad customer service apparently the leadership of this store is absent... read more

They are so rude at this store. I wanted to buy a new Apple Watch for my husband. I knew exactly what I wanted, didn't need to ask any questions, and was ready to pay for it. It would have taken less than 5 minutes. They said they couldn't help me for 3 hours. I explained that my husband was meeting me in 45 minutes and I needed to buy the watch and hide it in my car before then. I also explained that I couldn't have it shipped as my husband worked from home so that he would see the package. They did not give a flying fuck. The store wasn't even that busy. I guess Apple has that much of a stranglehold that they can't even be bothered to take $400 bucks in a reasonable time. read more

I walked in yesterday to fix my watch and they said they would text me in an hour when ready to see me. I got a text 90 minutes later and already left the mall. I then tried to re-schedule with the link sent to me for the following day but the link didn't work so I walked in today to try again and brought work for me in case it was a long wait. They refused to see me, saying it was too busy, even though I was here yesterday. No exceptions even though I was here two days in a row. Drove 40 minutes twice for nothing.
