I felt misinformed by this "rude" store manager! The Good: I called 611 from my car in the parking lot of the store and worked with a service tech who promptly and professionally resolved the issue. I was grateful to have my phone fixed and thanked him tremendously for a job well done. I then told the tech about my encounter with the store manager and asked if he could look up the information about the service fee. After several moments he came back and said it was false. I was disappointed and asked that they look into this matter closely so customers are not misinformed. I have been a customer at AT&T for over 20 years and never had problems with customer service. I had a new Z-Fold phone where the left half of the screen went solid green. They arranged for a replacement after significant paperwork. It took a week for the new phone to arrive. And IT went belly up in two days! But I went to the internet first, instead of Verizon, where I was advised by some helpful poster to RESET everything and AVOID 'enhanced' settings. Did so and problems disappeared and have not returned. AI is highly overrated! Be VERY careful allowing the phone to 'think' for you. All the fancy 'adaptive' options are VERY unreliable. AND most of the staff in the stores are just not up to the challenge. BUT WORSE, Verizon 5G is just not there! And neither are ANY of the other vendors, except in densely populated areas! They SELL 5G service but it just isn't there! They SELL 5G 'home internet' but it isn't there! Their nearest 5G service is not close enough to reach with the phone or the 'home internet router'! Lots of 4 and 3G, even 2G! No 5G! In my area, ALL 5G is T-Mobile and concentrated around the local interstate highway! NO VERIZON 5G, even though they SELL it. Maybe in another year or two or three or 2030? 5G is HIGHLY overrated! It is great when you can get it. But don't hold your breath!

14hrs 5 days later possibly got my daughter's Apple Watch to finally work correctly but not because of this store. This store caused all this frustration and wasting a total of 14 hrs on the phone and a total of 5 days with AT&T tech support and loyalty department to correct and issue that a young girl at this store caused because she wanted to rush the issue and get us out of the store. Royally screwing up my daughter's watch. I've never come across of so much incompetence in a handful of employees at this store ever in my life with any other business ever. Because of their screw up half of the 14 hrs I had to deal with customer service in Thailand that couldn't understand or speak correct English. Finally I received an American on the phone with their upper level loyalty department. Going back to the store as I was told by AT&T and not to leave until they recognized the issue they caused and to wait for their call. Which they did and stunned the "manager" who was so argumentative and clueless at the same time. I had to have the AT&T rep on the phone tell this clown what he kept dying and basically called me a liar. What an absolute Arrogant jerk and I recommend nobody go to this crap show for any help. AT&T did a complain report for me and contacted the regional manager. I hope they fire both of those employees involved. What a mess and the arrogance of that manager is mind blowing. Just because he couldn't or wouldn't help and his knowledge of this issue was ZERO!! Tech explained that phone was not infected but it was a phishing scheme for me to click the "Apple" link to remove virus - for a fee of course. I didn't take the bait. Tech took care of it over the counter in 30 seconds without charge. Phone 2: iPhone needed a new battery. Tech explained that reason for battery failure was the charging case. He showed us the damaged battery when we picked up the phone and explained how to properly use the charging case to avoid future battery damage. Both iPhones: wanted them to add VPN to both phones. He told us they don't provide that service, but gave us a trustworthy web site to find a what we wanted. Polite, knowledgeable and took time to fully explain every issue. 100% satisfied.
