This is not my first rodeo at an Applebees and after a long day of cheering competition, the family needed some grub and this was their choice. Establishment is located in an area with plenty of private parking and adjacent to several a major retailers and a grocery store. The location is obviously understaffed when you have a 45 minute wait at the door, but you can count 8-10 tables that are empty. I feel bad for the staff when they work so hard, yet they can't fill the place to its full capacity. We waited about 35 minutes, but they take your number and you can sit in the car or inside where they will text you when your table is ready. I had the all you can eat appetizer option which boasted boneless wings, ribs and shrimp with fries. The ribs were 'ok', but I enjoyed everything else offered in the bottomless option. My wife enjoyed her burger and fries. They hit the temp on the burger perfectly. The kids enjoyed their pasta and irresistible-a-bowl taking home some of the leftovers since the portion was quite large. Staff was busting their butt and I was sure to tip to reflect that. If they can get the staff to support a full house, they will do much better and offer some relief to the waiters and waitresses who look like they had a long day, but had a great attitude and continued to smile throughout the entire experience. The only reason for the 3-stars and the wait with many open tables. Now I know why I drive to Waterville. Last night we came in for a quick bite. We ordered the classic combo sampler. The waitress asked if we would like ranch or blue cheese we said ranch.. she brought it out and we thought one was ranch and one was sour cream. Because sour cream always comes with it at the one in Waterville. Nope it was blue cheese when we said something she said sour cream doesn't come with it. Never said can I get you some or this or how much it'll cost. Absolutely nothing. That was fine. I don't think she was happy that we just ordered an appetizer because the people behind us on both sides. She kept going back and checking on them getting them drinks asking them if they want dessert or they need anything else.. she stopped at our booth just once. The server Reese was excellent! Took care of us like family. The greeter sat us in a drafty spot . I didn't like that very much. The food did come out hot and delicious and overall I was 90% happy with everything except the seating! The decoration was Maine and local faire. I'm not generally not excited about chain restaurants. But..... Applebees has been a great place to eat for a long time. They have a diverse menu that never disappoints and their food is always good. The service is always friendly and helpful. Sometimes I eat at the bar to watch a local baseball game. I love all the TVs in the place. This has become my go to go to. Great place to bring the family. We did the two for twenty for years. Thumbs up for sure. read more

I've been to Applebee's numerous times for alcoholic beverages but not necessarily to eat. Today my food obsessed office decided to order their new Cheeto covered boneless chicken wings. We tried the regular and the fiery. I would rate these a 2-3. Just not great. We also ordered the appetizer plate which was good.. not great. This place disappointed tremendously, went here to get some food and the server didn't come to our table once. One of my friends never got his food and I got my food but they didn't give me my drink the whole time even after asking 5 times. The manager ending up coming over 10 minutes after we had pressed the call for server button and he got my Pepsi right away. Overall staff is slow and may ignore your table or even forget your food. We arrived and 15 minutes after pickup time, a server finally came out to ask our order and said she would be right back She never returned. 15 minutes later, my husband went in and was told they hadn't started it, but would rush it. One of the better Applebee's we have been to. Looks brand new inside and out. Seated fast. Friendly host. Very clean inside with local photos on the walls. Lots of tvs, but not too loud. Bar in the center of the restaurant with bar seating. We got th he app assortment pick 3. Great apps, just like photo. Spin dip was excellent with chips, pretzels with beer cheese dip were my favorite. Mozzarella sticks were just ok, nothing special, just like you get everywhere else. Tacos and pot stickers were perfect too. Cold Sam Adams on draft was just right. Server was fast and friendly. Overall a great experience. The only complaint was the mediocre food quality, but it is a chain restaurant called Applebee's and it was better than in the past. The typical experience you'd expect from a chain restaurant​. The host sat us at the bar which was half full. Some sort of baseball game was playing and it was what everyone was talking about. Our bartender greeted us within a few minutes and started us off with waters. We then ordered the $1 drinks that they have every month. We also ordered some appetizers​, the mozzarella​ sticks and the pretzels. Everything tasted good and our bartender checked in on us a few times. Honestly wasn't bad for the price especially the $1 drink. People complain it tastes watered down but you get what you pay for! A huge plus about the place is their late night hours. Visiting from DC - brought my mom, 2 sisters, and 3 nieces in for dinner. We were seated right away, out waiter was super friendly and attentive. Spinach artichoke dip was yummy (as usual) and its hard to beat the 2 for $20 deals. Cheese chicken penne, southwest pasta, and chicken with shrimp were all delicious. Got swindled into going here for a friend's birthday celebration. Unsure of what on the menu would be at least tolerable, I ordered the Maple Bacon Chicken Piadini. I did not know what a Piadini was before this, so thank you Applebee's for enlightening me (it's somewhere between a gyro and a panini). It was actually quite good, but I really regretted ordering chili and cheese on my fries. The cheese looked ok at first, then solidified into a squishy blanket of grossness that trapped all the moisture in my fries and made them all soggy underneath. Chips probably would've been a safer bet, but hey, I guess I was feeling adventurous. I really liked the small side of pickles. They were crisp, fresh tasting, and... oh my god... so spicy! I love spicy, but it took me by surprise how spicy these little guys were. I feel like they should come with a warning label! Thankfully, they have Boston Lager on draught. This helped put out the pickle fire and rounded out my meal quite nicely. Really, aside from the unimpressive fries, this was a decent dinner. I wasn't a fan of the tablets on every table, but I have to admit that it made splitting up the tab easier- for the waitress. It makes the customers do all the work instead. P.S. I am torn between a 3 and a 4 star rating .. the waitress and the manager saved it for me I guess. Three of us got burgers and very specifically asked they be well done - no pink. My aunt stressed this -- my other aunt even teased and said "burn it". She also asked for the bacon to be very very crisp. My mom's burger came out cooked correctly. Both mine and my aunt's were "medium" at best. My aunt's bacon was limp. I like my steak medium rare and my burgers well done... I was too hungry to wait for my burger to be redone - so I ate what I could of it (about half - then the raw chopped chuck got to me). My aunt had hers redone. She said hers was good when she got it back out. Our waitress was very professional - not overly friendly - but she did her job - checked on us several times - made sure we had everything we needed and apologized for the problem with the food. She also let the manager know there was a problem and he came over right away and was very apologetic. (My aunt said she could here him yelling at the cooks in the kitchen about the burgers.) Everyone else's food seemed to be very good. If we lived here, I'd be willing to give it another chance. by the way, when the waitress brought over our checks, she didn't bring one for my aunt. When asked she said the manager took care of it. He also took my burger off the bill and I was only billed for the soda and dessert. For dessert I got the chocolate mousse shooter. The mousse was very tasty but there was very little of it. The small glass would have been fine - but 1/3 of it was small pieces of oreo cookies. Then a tad bit of mousse, and the balance of the glass (probably more than 1/3 of it) was whipped topping and more oreo cookies. I would not get that again .. just not enough mousse. read more

SO WE WENT TO the bar and kayla said she was out of one of the liquors for the margarita but could sub it with a different biccardi. So after i got the greatful dead which you could see threw i tried it and tasted like a watered down koolaid. And if you were a true bartender you would know a grateful dead is very dark. So i asked zach for steve to come over.when steve approached he asked what the problem was i told him they didnt have margaritas and he looked at me dumb founded like he didnt know about his own bar!!!! And he just took it and stomped away.... No sorry no nothing... So when zach came back we told him what kayla told us about the margaritas. So i told him i would take one of them. As u see in the picture liquor dont come on the side of the margarita it goes inside. But apperantly not for me... Kayla expected me to make my own drink.. Why is she a bar tender for?? i called steve over again to ask what i had infront of me.he says he dont know what did you order. I said a blue raspberry margarita. So i inform him about the liquor there out of and what there replacing it with is on the side and not in my mixed drink his response: so what would you like me to do? I said. I would like you to take it back to the bar and mix my liquor in my drink or give me a cup so i can do it.EVEN THOUGH HE SHOULDVE REMADE IT. he takes drink back to bar to mix it all mad. Over the past year or so I've become a regular at this particular chain location. I mostly dine alone at the bar and let me just say Chuck the bartender is a phenom! When he's not cranking out perfect, delicious drinks he's cleaning, organizing, restocking, he is on his game! I've never had a bad meal. The food is standard Applebee's fair. In my experience everything comes out made to order, prompt, hot, and delicious! The restaurant itself shows its support for the surrounding community - the local high schools are featured in the decor so that is nice to see. The restaurant is conveniently located, always clean and beautifully landscaped. The staff are very motivated to ensure the customer has the best dining experience. They are friendly, prompt, and what I like the most, for large parties or multiple dishes they make sure the food arrives at the table all at once even if it means recruiting other servers. That is one thing that is important to me when dining out. Everyone getting their food at the same time. The drinks are generous, beer is cold, wine is served in lovely personal carafes. Chuck makes sure each glass is spotless before being filled and sent to the customer. When he's working you can bet you're getting drinks from one of the best bartenders in the area. read more

I normally love Applebees! But today it has completely changed my mind.... Orders curbside to go for 450 pm, I showed up and parked called the store and told them I was here for my pick up order. While I am waiting for my order 2 other cars park next to me. About 5-10 minutes go by and I look up and the other cars are gone. I think to myself okay maybe they only got one or 2 things not a big deal right! A gentleman comes out and brings me my food, sweet kid very kind and apologizes for the wait. I drive away and eat one of the fries and it is completely cold and soggy. I almost threw up, so I turn around and park again I call them and let them know I had a pick up order and that I didn't get my drives and my fries were cold. The gentleman on the phone said okay and hung up. I wait a few minutes and I get my drinks and a new set of fries. That are again completely cold. So I thought to myself okay I'll check the meals and make sure they are warm. I was wrong they were also completely cold. At this point I'm like okay I'll just go home no point in calling again. My significant other got boneless ribs and I got a wrap. He takes one bite and it's nothing but bones, I take a bite and my wrap is completely soggy also. After this I don't think I can bring myself to go back to that restaurant... read more

It was okay. Clean and following COVID guidelines from what we could see. Waitress was friendly. A bit slow on timeliness and follow up but think they may have been short handed. Food was good. I do recommend the shrimp alfredo even tho the portion was skimpy. Don't really recommend the margaritas. They are sicky sweet and have the weird neon green color that you see from mixes, not fresh. I went to the Augusta Applebee's while waiting for my dog to be groomed. We were seated right away. When our waitress came to take our order she was coughing so bad she could hardly talk. We ordered and waited for some time. Another lady brought our order and nobody came to see if the food was ok. My potatoes were ice cold and my broccoli was not much warmer. My familiarity with Applebee's from other locations and travels did not suggest the one in Augusta would go onto our "short list" after moving here; but we tried it one night because it's one of the few restaurants in town that remains open late. A very pleasant surprise: The food was quite good, the service also very good, and they even had some excellent brews on tap. The prices are reasonable, too. We have been there a few times since and our opinion is unchanged. It might not be fine dining, but it's definitely acceptable dining worth four stars and--given our late night habits--they haven't seen the last of us. read more

This has got to be the worst restaurant on earth as far as customer service goes!! My husband and I were seated near the emergency exit on a cold rainy day. I had been recovering from the flu and bronchitis for a week. After having the wait staff allow everyone to use the emergency exit to leave the restaurant, and getting a chill every time they did, i had just about enough. I called our waitress over to let her know how i felt about the use of the emergency exit and her response was, " maybe you should ask to sit on the other side of the restaurant next time. " i immediately asked to speak with her manager who defended her! Are you serious!! Applebees doesnt have that great a menu! read more

The waiter was fantastic but the restaurant was sub-par: very dirty, and the bathrooms were disgusting. The food was terrible and not hot. Silverware was even dirty. Very disappointed, as it's a big chain that should be well managed. read more
