Fish n Chips

We sat in their outside Patio when music was playing. Beautiful night, plenty of Beer selections, service was very good and their service was excellent. They also brought a water bowl for our Golden. You have to check in inside if you want to sit at a table and you have to order drinks from the bar too! Wait time wasn't long and before we knew we had a table. I tried their fish n chips and the fish was very good, didn't care for the fries they were soft and not crunchy. My husband had the Lobster Roll with a side of fries. He said it was ok but did like the fries. Look up their music schedule it was very pleasant to sit outside. Enjoy!

Been coming here for years. Great service, great food and selection, fun pub atmosphere inside and a beautiful outside area where you can see the river

A great beer menu for lovers of all things craft beer. Very friendly bartender at lunch time and she knew the food items and beer list, always nice to see. I had the fish tacos and I was not a fan. I love fish tacos but this piece of fish was more like an unseasoned slab of fish on a taco. French fries and with the aioli were really good. Chicken salad wrap also didn't make the grade, sort of tasted like tuna salad, but was definitely chicken. Odd. Nice ambiance inside, also outdoor seating- all areas rustic and comfortable.

Cheers to 40 years! Appreciated the full spectrum of options for both food and drink. Enjoyed the beet and goat cheese salad. Walked in and was seated. Easily found parking across the street. My only thing was the air conditioning blowing on me during lunch. Such a first world problem. Ha. Service was super friendly!

Love is very clean, friendly and lots of options of drinks and food. Definitely a place worth the checking out. Would recommend to anyone!

Cheese shell ribeye tacos with sweet potatoes (special)

We stopped in for dinner on a Sunday night and it was not very busy, so it was fairly quiet. They also had the bruins game on, which was nice and seemed to be the draw for everyone else there. We had great service from our waitress, Liz! Although the service was great, the food was just ok. None of it was bad, but none of it made us want to go back. The fish in the fish and chips was not flavorful and the breading fell off almost every bit. It seemed a bit wet, which is never a good adjective for fried food. The fries were ok, nothing special. The poutine was pleasant, but seemed to be made with a chicken or turkey gravy rather than a more flavorful gravy, like beef, as is traditional. Some of the cheese curds were melted, but unfortunately most were not. The scallions were a nice touch though. The ribeye cheese shell tacos were not great. There was too much going on flavor wise, and the ribeye was quite gristly and was cooked rare (without checking with us on how we wanted it cooked). However, the sweet potato fries were good! The bathrooms also seemed like they were overdue for a thorough deep cleaning and a fresh coat of paint, but were ok otherwise. Our takeaway: if you go, get the sweet potato fries!

Shaved steak poutine

The Quarry Tap Room came recommended from a local hotel. We desperately needed food after a hike in the area and decided to pop in. We had our pup with us and opted to sit on their patio which was very open and well designed. We ordered a couple sours which were affordable off their specials menu. I opted for poutine with shaved steak, peppers, and onions. It was enormous, and so so good. I ended up sharing with my husband (who thought the chili he ordered was good - while I thought it was spicy lol) and we still couldn't finish it! The fries were crispy when not covered in gravy and the steak was super tender. Go for the upgrade on poutine!

We were seated promptly and our drink orders went right in while we looked at the menu. I had never been here before, we asked what the server recommends. She was spot on. We started with a round of pulled pork nachos for the table. I went with shrimp tacos (aioli on the side as I was worried about spice level). Others at the table had the Reuben, chicken tacos, and house chili. Our drinks came out fast, the food was not far behind, our eyes were met with generous portions nicely garnished. The pulled pork nachos were exactly what we expected southerwestern-y cumin-y deliciousness assisted by sour cream, and fresh salsa goodness everything was perfectly seasoned. My shrimp tacos came with lime, avocado, and purple cabbage with spicy aioli on the side. The meaty shrimp with the crisp cabbage were all mellowed together by the creamy avocado. I would eat them for days. Everyone in my party cleaned their plates! The atmosphere is country-chic. There is a saloon decor vibe but it's also hipster steam punk meets old west. The main dining area is clean, spacious and was decorated for the holiday. By the time we left the dining room was a little over half capacity with folks peppered around the bar. It wasn't too noisy, there is country music in the background, but it was fine for conversation. The overall vibe is fun, light, and hospitable, plus there was a pinch of yule-time joy in the air. There is a front and rear entrance, parking is on the street. Around the back of downtown are assorted free parking lots there is also a free parking garage nearby as well, so parking is not a problem. Downtown Augusta is always dolled up this time of year with twinkling lights, snowmen, and such. I recommend The Whiskey Kitchen. Whether you need a space for a working lunch - there is Wi-Fi- looking for a special gathering for an occasion make The Whiskey Kitchen your destination!

Seating and Ambiance: They have outdoor seating and plenty of indoor seating as well. The couches inside are so comfortable. They also allow pups inside which I appreciated it! On a hot summer day, it was difficult for our pup to be out so this really came in handy and allowed us to have a good time. The inside area is SO spacious. Half of it is an arcade/game room with plenty of arcade games so make sure you bring some quarters. Pours: We had 4 pints and took a 4-pack to go, all for $48. The beers were really good. I really enjoyed their IPA "Cease and Desist" which they said was their most popular one. Service: We had the best service. The woman at the front gave us great beer recommendations and was so nice and welcoming from the moment we stepped inside. All in all, a solid 5 out of 5!
