The 1 star is for the waitress that was super kind and sincere. Im enjoying my burger when i look down and see 2 black dots looking at me. I show my husband and he thinks its jalapenos from their new sauce. i take a fry and pull it out...a whole roach. Whole roach, dang near almost ate it. Eh.. haven't been to Applebee's in literally over ten years. This visit reminded me why there's no need for me to ever go back. I'm still mad I wasted the calories and money here! The food/drink gets 1 star. The $1 margarita gets 1 star but I did manage to finish it. The blue drink special was ok just super sweet and kinda weak. The employees at this location get 4 stars. However, we were seated and watched our black waitress serve 2 tables, and make 3 separate trips to one table (both having black guests at the tables). It took over 10 minutes to get acknowledged and with no apology for the time it took to greet us. She obviously ignored us for a reason, which seems pretty obvious. Yeah, it took about 1 minute to realize why we don't go to Applebee's. We were immediately greeted by a hostess/manager chewing out a waitress in the entry area. The waitress ended up being our waitress and was completely flustered the entire time. She couldn't pay attention to anything being said to her. Example, she asked me if I wanted lemon in my lemonade- (you can't make this stuff up) I ordered mozzarella sticks to play it safe. Service was very poor. When we were first greeted by the host he was very rude brought us to the table and then through our menus down on the table. My boyfriend ordered whiskey over ice it's not that hard to make,It was completely watered down. My mixed drink tasted like there was no alcohol in it. We were dining at this Applebee's for lunch and one of the waitresses was wearing tights for leggings and you could see her butt threw them. It was so gross to see her walk by while we were eating. I understand that a lot of businesses are getting a little less formal with their uniforms, but this was unacceptable in a dining establishment. I love eating at Applebee's ... each one I go to has very great service and excellent food . But this one my mash potatoes were cold when they came out ... my salad had no dressing on it and my steak wasn't done it was almost rare and I asked for well done... also my waitress (forgot her name) took a very long time refilling my drink bringing my order out to me (so it was cold like it's been sitting for a while) and to give me change back. I always tip way over than I'm suppose to because of the service but tonight I tipped under because of how the waitress treated me. I feel sort of bad but also I got bad service. I have a nenewed enjoyment of Applebee's. Their menu has changed. The wait staff and managers are much more attentive and I love their under 550 calorie dishes. They have 5 to choose from. From sirloin to chicken to shrimp. Just the right amount without feeling too full. They have a new rosemary chicken pasta dish that Vickie adores. I came here on a Saturday night since Hooters had no tables. It was pretty crowded but we were seated pretty quick. Right when I sat down, I started remembering why I stopped coming here. The menu sucks here! There's really not a lot of variety available. It's pretty much either steak or chicken. Since it was Saturday, they had the drink specials. I ordered a blue motorcycle and my bf ordered a sweet tea. My bf sweet tea was super watered down and he opted for a lemonade instead. He also ordered an appetizer when we put our drink order in. I decided 10 mins later that I wanted an appetizer and ordered one from the kiosk at the table. My appetizer came out about 10 mins before his did. My drink came out and it tasted pretty good! No complaints there. Also the waiter assumed that we weren't going to order anything else because I had to tell him that I wanted to order an entree. Food came about 20-30 mins later. The steak was cooked well done and tasted ok. It was pretty bland and had obviously no seasoning. The four cheese Mac and cheese looked and tasted like it had no cheese. The potatoes were the only great thing. My bf ordered and burger that was way too hot and burned his mouth. After paying for the meal using the kiosk, the waiter asked if were ready for the check...so ummmm yeah. My last visit was about 6 months ago and nothing changed. Not sure how to start this review. We got seated quickly and the waitress brought us drinks right away. Food came out fast, staff was friendly. Ok now all the positives out of the way, the food was bad. They need to change the oil in the frier because the onion rings, chicken tenders and the fries all tasted exactly the same. Also it was a freakin daycare. There started off with one staff member with a kid in a booth playing on a phone but by the time we were leaving there were at least 5 kids in their that came in with workers and no joke one of them was running around with no shirt on. DO NOT EAT HERE! The general manager, Ellen, needs to be fired ASAP. There needs to be better management in the prep area as my burger came out with paper inside of it. When asked why it was there, the manager explained that this was the paper that comes between the cheeses to keep them separated.
