The food is completely average if youve ever eaten at an applebees in your life, you will understand what i mean. The real joy here is the small town charm. The servers and management actually seem to care. Of the "quite a few times" ive eaten here, i can safely say i have never had a bad experience. Even if they are busy, in my experience the servers legit try to make you happy. I will eat here again to be sure. read more

Three strikes you're out. I've generally enjoyed Applebee's in most other states I've been to but the Coldwater MI Applebee's is officially off my list. Service was HORRIBLE everytime I've been here and this last time took the cake. Literally 25 minutes after I ordered baby back ribs the waitress came out to inform me they didn't have any left. Disappointed I asked for a steak instead. 5 minutes later she came back to say that they now have the ribs but they might not be very good because they just went in the steamer...ok??? At this point I was losing my patience and said just bring me a good steak. Not even 5 minutes after all that she brings the gentleman behind me baby back ribs!! Are you kidding me!? I finally got my steak after waiting an hour and will say it was satisfactory. However, the service is horrible. Will never go back there. read more

Horrible service. Ordered here twice and both times, the food was wrong. Then when I bring it to my server's attention, she says "not to be a bitch, but you never said a flavor for your wings!" So I guess they just bring you whatever they feel instead of clarifying IF in fact, I didn't say a flavor. Worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant! Waitress was new, we were patient. Food was ordered wrong, we waited for the right sides. Steaks came back out and were well-done.(we ordered medium) after all was said and done the manager gave us a couple free vouchers, a sundae and mozzarella sticks, and 10% off.. What a joke! We choked down the food and waited another 10 minutes for our bill which was still almost $60. And we were still charged for a shrimp Parmesan topping that we didn't receive! The worse Applebee's I ever been to! We ordered three meals that are supposed to be served on skillets, but not. There must have been a shortage of red skin potatoes. I was highly disappointed with the bland flavorless shrimp stir fry that cost $12. My house salad had more flavor then the shrimp, rice, and broccoli that made up this expensive dish. The shrimp reminded me of a bland chicken flavor. That in itself was just mind boggling when shrimp should have its own delectable flavor. There was a horrid absence of salt and I had to ask the waitress for the stir fry seasoning?!? How is that suppose to work? read more

Great place to have a family dinner. We always enjoy our food and Applebee's changes their menu often so nothing is the same old food.

After searching for something edible and digestible in Coldwater (where anything smothered in greasy grill gravy rates five stars) we stumbled on the Applebee's on US 12. Greeted and seated quickly, our server James, rushed out our drinks, professionally took our order and checked back several times during our lunch. The food was good: Texas burger on my side of the booth, Chicken Cesar salad with sweet potato fries on the other. James ensured the success of our experience right through to the end: credit card payment on a tablet device at the table. Ample parking, clean restrooms, an easy to navigate menu, and of course the five star service. Super. read more

Love this place. They have a great cheddar broccoli soup. And we're very friendly. They are always going above and beyond what is required.

Not a good Applebee's. When your running low on something its better to just tell your customer that your out then try to stretch it. As a 20 year veteran of food service industry im familiar with all the shortcuts. Number one, when someone orders soup firstly it shoud be hot! And if its black bean it should have more then 3 beans. Steak in soup should never be tough and chewy people can choke on it. So the next time your running low on steak and black been soup DONT! Through a piece of meat on the grill ,add water, open up a can of bean and through it in what little soup you have left, and serve it. just tell them you out.its alway better to give other choices then to serve crap. read more

This may be the worse Applebee's I've ever been too. Went there for lunch with my family today and they completely changed the menu, but for the worse. They removed what I would consider saw menu items and changed the recipe on others, such as the chicken fajita roll up. This particular item, the decided to replace part of the filled with dry cabbage which makes it taste dry and absolutely terrible. The quality of the food is so bad, want to know how bad, go there and order a rubbery steak. What's crazy is that they recently raised their prices too. Many other Applebee's have closed, I guess the one in Coldwater is making it because there aren't to many other options. So, about the experience today. Dad didn't get his food until everyone else was done and they had the nerve to bill us the full amount and not comp any of his meal so we asked them too (and they did). The service was poor, took forever to get drinks and the server lied about dad's burger. She said it wasn't done enough so they had to put it back in for an additional 20 minutes but mom's burger came in time and was well done. The drinks were few and far in between. Just an overall bad experience. This store really needs to be under new management. They wouldn't be able to do anything about the food but under new management they certainly can improve the service. read more

I visited the Coldwater Applebees this evening, there were 5 of us. I cannot even begin to describe how bad our experience was. I ordered a sirloin, medium, it came out like shoe leather, very well done. 2 others ordered a newer salad, and neither one looked AT ALL like they did on the menu, so after trying to get our server for at least 10 minutes, we finally asked her to talk to the Manager. 10 more minutes for him to come over, he was very nice, and re-made our dinners...HOWEVER, it was another 20+ minutes before our food that was prepared RIGHT came out, and this time, my steak was more medium rare...but I just wanted to eat what I could, and get out! I think you get the picture...absolutely NOTHING was taken off our bill, nor did the Manager come back to check on us, after knowing how unhappy we were. I feel he should have either offered us dessert, or taken a percentage off...WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK, and my family lives locally, and USED TO BE loyal customers.
