    Southwest wrap
    Emily D.

The food isn't bad. I think it really depends on what you order. The southwest wrap isn't bad, but the amount of ingredients inside the wrap doesn't seem to fit the $10 I spent to get it. The guy who waited on me was super friendly and had great manners. The older lady, wasn't very friendly at all. I think if you aren't a regular or with a regular, you aren't top priority to her. That's just my take on it. She seemed fine with everyone else inside. They all do a turn around and stare when you walk through the door. Side note. Use cash. They have a sign by the cash register that they charge 4% to every bill if you use card. They don't say it out loud to you tho.

Great food and service. You have to try the fried perch dinner. Great proportions and delicious fish. Nice little hometown atmosphere.

We had a great meal at The Stables. My wife and a cheeseburger and fries and I had a beef and bean burrito. Very good.

CLOSED and up for sale. Drove 50 miles just to find it empty with a for sale sign in the window.

We dined upstairs (Pub on lower level) and had some excellent food. The Garlic Breaded Cheese Curds are amazing (cubed cheese) and recommend either/or Marinara and Ranch. The Pretzel was also very good, but the standout was the bar cheese sauce, which appears more of a creamy fondue than straight cheese wiz and was very flavorful. Main dishes were the Pollock Fish Basket with Fries, Chicken Quesadilla with Lime Rice and the Steak Bites App with a side of Broccoli. Everything was very good,l and the food was hot and service super fast. Staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable and dining right on the lake is always a plus. Plus we didn't have a wait arriving at 6:30ish on a Saturday evening. Bent Prop Pub earned a five star review due to its food, ambiance, staff and being a nice little gem of a restaurant and pub tucked away in a sleepy section of the Eastern shore of Coldwater Lake. Would definitely go back when we are back up in the area.

The food was good! For our appetizer, We got the Prop Bites (Cheese Curds) they were good but quite salty. My husband and I both got the Grouper strips. They were really good. The breading was a little thicker than we like but it was good, as were their chips and coleslaw. Anna was great! The service was very quick! We had our apps within 5 minutes! Our meals came shortly after! Our server was very attentive too!

One of my sides was mashed potatoes, which tasted fine except for the hair I found in them. My fiancé also found a hair in his fries. My other side was mac n' cheese which tasted like nothing and had a gross texture. I could tell it had been reheated because the cheese was congealed and clumpy. As well, there were a couple large ants crawling on our table. Overall, the food not only tasted bad, but the hairs and the ants made me feel that the environment was not as clean as it should be. Would never come back here nor would I recommend to anyone.

The Outpost is stationed between two of the large antique malls in Allen, and between our visits to these we wandered in for lunch. The interior kind of resembles the antique malls, with lots of country kitsch decor on display. There was a bit of a wait to be seated even though the restaurant was maybe 2/3 full, though once we were at out table our drinks came and our food order was taken quickly enough. The menu here is basic: some burgers and assorted sandwiches, a few salads, chicken tenders and that kind of thing. My wife got a basic hamburger, which was large, about a 1/2 pound. She said it had decent flavor, but was a little dry. I got a bite and I concur. I got the "grilled chicken sandwich deluxe," though I wasn't sure what made it deluxe. It consisted of a dry, unseasoned chicken breast topped with lettuce, tomato and mayo. It took care of my hunger, and I guess that was enough at that moment. What was more discouraging, though, was the long wait between ordering and receiving our food. And the longer wait between finishing our meal and getting the check. I didn't time either, but the total time we spent in the restaurant was 1 3/4 hours. Some of the problem came from understaffing. There were only two servers on duty in what is actually a fairly large restaurant. I think our server was doing the best she could, but had far more work that she could reasonably handle. The second star I'm giving this place is an acknowledgement of her efforts. This is the only restaurant in Allen, so if you're heading there for a day of antiquing, pack a lunch, or schedule your trip to be somewhere else around mealtime.

Laker's Landing was formerly Laker's Food & Spirits. I no reference to the former owners…read more Laker's is a moderately small restaurant tucked behind several buildings on the Main Street. I didn't see any signage on the main road or on the street where you turn. There isn't any good signage that helps you definitely know that you have arrived at Laker's. Once you get there you will scramble to find a parking spot on a busy night. Again the signage for where it is okay to park is not good as well. Laker's is set right on the lake. The deck only sets three tables. The view is great. However you better make a reservation if you want to secure an outdoor seat. Once inside....the view of the lake isn't bad. There are lots of windows to share the view with those outside. The interior of the restaurant is broken up into three areas - east & west dinning and a bar. All areas have an attractive multi-colored wood walls. This is complimented by the wood floors and dark furniture. The interior is welcoming and comfortable. The bar is very attractive. The east dinning room is VERY LOUD for some reason. The west side was much quieter. The staff we encountered were very friendly. The hostess doubles as a bus person so we had to wait to find out what happens after you arrive - again "hostess will seat up" sign. I was surprised that half of the staff didn't wear shirts with the Laker's logo. Our waitress Katie was excellent. She knew her menu well and had several spot on recommendations. She was concerned about our dinning experience and advised us that a large party was coming so she wanted to make sure we got our orders in ahead of them. Katie was right on top of the refills as well. We ordered the jalapeño crab filled wontons to start. The jalapeño wonton was not hot or over spicy. The filling was creamery with a slight crab taste. The wontons were a bit crispy. Overall a nice appetizer but no rememberable flavors here. My side salad was very good. The salad was a nice size presented in a fashionable bowl. The Ingredients were very fresh. The right amount cheese mixed well with the homemade honey mustard dressing. The dressing had a slightly sweet flavor with a creamy smooth consistency. The taste mirrored a high quality store bought dressing. My wife had the Cobb salad. Again the salad was a nice size with plenty of fresh veggies and lettuce. The homemade raspberry vinaigrette dressing was outstanding. The dressing was slightly sweet with small pieces of raspberries in the sauce. Overall the salad was very good. For dinner I ordered the breasted chicken and Mac & Cheese. The Mac & cheese was a bit dry. You kind of expect a creamy oozing sauce on elbow noodles. The noodles were perfectly cooked. The cheese was thin and stuck to the noodle with a darker color (looked like well baked on but not overly baked). The chicken was outstanding. The breading was thin and slightly crispy. It did hold a bit more grease flavor than you might like. However the breading was simply delicious! The chicken was extraordinarily moist. It could be easily cut with a fork. Overall Laker's Landing does a pretty good job with dinner. The cocktails, which we didn't have, looked very attractive and tempting. You will find the prices to be very fair and a moderately sized menu. Give them a try!
