My two close friends and I decided to go to dinner here before we left town for the summer. My two friends had previously raved about how amazing the service and food was here - which I didn't doubt since I've always had an incredible experience at the Applebee's chain. Our trip here started out wonderful, with a lovely waitress. She was very prompt with everything she did and was incredibly kind. Our food came out quick and it was all very filling and amazing. However, when it came time to pay, our experience became horrible. Our waitress dropped our checks off at the table and my two friends put their cards on their checkbooks and I put cash down. When our waitress came back to cash us out, she looked at me, rolled her eyes, and in a very irritated voice said "Oh, you're paying with cash". I uncomfortably confirmed as she rolled her eyes again and walked off. She quickly returned my friends books with their cards, and we were left to wait 45 minutes for her to return the rest of my change. The restaurant was not busy whatsoever and we watched her go to the back and did not return until my money was brought back, so I can only assume she didn't have any other tables, or they were having just as bad of a time as we were. Since I do work in a restaurant I hate not tipping well, but this was definitely an exception! read more

Got ignored multiple times, got served my drink in a smaller glass on purpose the burger I ordered was inedible I asked for ranch didn't get it until my cheese sticks were cold . The slowest service, horrible tasting food and lousy customer relation. We arrived and were seated immediately, which was nice. There was maybe 8 other tables with customers at the time. Once seated about 10 minutes go by and our waitress shows up to take our drink order. We place our drink order and an order of Mozzarella sticks with ranch. Almost 15 more minutes go by and the waitress walks up and asks us for refills. Having no drinks sitting in front of us I asked "refills on what? We haven't even received our drinks we originally ordered" to which I got a sorry and another 5 minutes of wait. The Mozzarella sticks finally come out (without ranch). Shortly there after we place our dinner order. My wife asked for the orange chicken irristabowl, I got rib eye medium rare. Dinner shows up 15 minutes later (still no ranch for Mozzarella sticks). My steak is hard and cooked well done and wifes bowl shows up as a shrimp bowl. To which she is allergic. She explained that it wasn't her order the waitress said it was, she then looked and said "oops I'm sorry". By this time I was done, I didn't care that my steak was wrong or my veggies were cold. We just wanted the experience to be done. We got our ticket that was incorrect and was double charging for my sons drinks. Paid and left. I will never go here again. I've been going here for years and definitely have seen a change in everything within the last year. I totally would've agreed with all the bad reviews up until about a year ago. The menu changed and the food has definitely been improved. The food seems a lot more fresh and not bird. I would give more stars but sometimes there isn't enough staff to staff the restaurant and that leads to long wait times and poor service. Not the severs fault. I went every Tuesday for three years to experience a trivia show they hosted. The Trivia show was awesome. The management sucked. Every time we'd get a good server, and they would work for a few months, our trivia team would get to know them, and they would get to know the team. Once that happened we'd tip 50-200% on our tab. The management couldn't keep staff to save their lives! I run into the former employees of that place occasionally. They remember me and my friends and tell us even though they got $100 from our table alone they couldn't deal with the way they were treated. Food is 2 star tops. The bartender really made this night not enjoyable, she looked at my ID and me like it was a fake, wasn't friendly and didn't show good costumer service but when an elderly couple came in she got super smiley and a lot nicer to them. Find it odd for her to act like that. Also she gave us our ticket right after we ordered our food, like we didn't want to order more drinks or dessert? I stopped there for lunch on three different occasions over the last year. Each time I got up and walked out after about 5 minutes of no service. Hostess seated me promptly, and there I sat while servers mingled in back. There were about 3-4 other customers, so not busy at all. not even a walk by to say " I will be with you shortly", "screw you", or "can I get you a drink". Why did I go back 3 times? The only reason to eat at this Applebees is because you're killing time before a movie or your 80+ year old grandparents want to eat somewhere that doesn't require too much chewing. Service is terrible, and now you have the added privilege of ordering from iPads at your table and still not getting what you ordered. The food is bland and poorly prepared while still being terrible for you. I had a contest with my brother to see how many watered down long island iced teas we could pound before we felt anything, and had to stop at 3 each because our movie was starting and we were both still stone cold sober. Ah applebees, your oversalted greasy food is sometimes just the thing to satisfy the little devil inside me that craves American casual dining fare. Feeding 2 people for $20, and then a kid for 50 cents on Wednesdays, is sometimes just what we need to get away from the house without breaking the bank. Sure the food isn't exceptional, but it's never been less than I've come to expect from a commercialized place like this. Servers have always been attentive and friendly. Just stick with the 2 for $20 specials or happy hour half price apps, don't go for the ribs they're not worth it. Just remember to bring your blood pressure cuff. read more

First of all, why is it so hard for restaurant servers and cooks to realize that not everyone likes their burgers the same way, and that the customer is always right about the way they want their food? If someone goes out of their way to clearly ask for something a specific way it should not be a problem for them to make it that way. They're not the one's who are going to eat that burger, the paying customer is. Secondly, servers, you need to check back with your customers after they receive their food and make sure it came out right. And if it didn't, you need to place a higher priority on making it right than on selling that next $1.49 upgrade at the next table. (Management, you may want to incorporate this point into your training regimen. It will be more effective at maximizing your profits than selling those upgrades.) My burger came out wrong, I flagged down our server and asked for a missing key ingredient. After waiting at least 5 minutes I finally got up to go ask again. Three employees disappeared into the kitchen ahead of me, forcing me to go all the way to the other side of the restaurant to find our server. Applebee's has a great interior and a cute quaint look. But once you order the food it ruins the whole mood. Their burgers and buns are greasy and disgusting meat. There are much better burger places to go. Besides the burgers, they have better food like their chicken strips or their pizza. Basically regular fast food items all bundled up into a big restaurant of fat and grease. Don't get me wrong the people who work there are very nice and attentive to people's needs but the food doesn't hold up for that. I don't recommend going. We decided to give this location another try after getting amazing service from the Albany location recently. Our server was nice and pleasant. Our food on the other hand was nothing special. My wife ordered a baked potato with her chicken and it was cold. The server did bring her another potato that was actually warm. My fries were cold and my burger was luke warm. There was only a couple tables in the place so the food should of been fresh. My son did enjoy his kid's meal though. read more

I wish the experience you're about to read was a joke, but that is sadly untrue. Buckle your sweet bippy up, hang on, and prepare for the monstrosity my family and I experienced this evening at dinner. For starters, the restaurant wasn't that busy and the hostess sat us right away, so I was pretty excited about that. As we sat and looked at the menu, our server came and took our drink orders, as I was quite parched. Some 10 minutes later our peach of a server was able to put together 2 coffees with cream and a Mountain Dew. While she began taking the rest of our order, something seemed off. She was repeating what we said back to us to confirm and then writing things down, so I assumed she was accurately putting together our order. Oh how I was mistaken. She even had to come back to our table and ask what one of our sides were and how one of the two steaks we ordered was to be cooked. This is about when my spidy senses were telling me this was going to be a bad experience, but being the person I am and being a server myself once, I gave her the benefit of the doubt. To no surprise, I was wrong again! So this is where the messed up part comes. After waiting for an hour for our food, also seeing another table being sat next to us, and said table being served their food before us, we finally were starting to get fed up. At this point I'm frustrated, confused and quite famished. Then, by the grace of God our food shows up. And oh man, before a plate hit the table my mother, a complete SAINT, tells the server her order was wrong. Which it was, so my mother said she would take it though because she didn't want to wait another hour for food. My plate and my mother's significant others plate looked fine. Our server, dumbfounded at the issue apologized said "she thought you ordered this" when we clearly heard her order something else (to sum it up my mother ordered an oriental chicken WRAP and was brought an oriental chicken SALAD) and says she will get her manager. A few moments later this grimey, creepy guy with glasses on walks up and with a sadistic smirk says "so uhhhhh that's not what you ordered"? And we repeated ourselves saying no we ordered a wrap not a salad. So this guy just says "your meal will be in me tonight" and awkwardly walks away. With the server still standing there, my mother asks for a to go box because she had lost her appetite but wasn't going to turn away a comped meal. Problem solved. And they lived happily ever after. PSYCH! Gotcha! Oh you THOUGHT this was over? Nope. Hang in there! So after the manager leaves, my mothers significant other and I begin to eat our steaks. My steak looks cooked how I like (rare) and his was well done. Well, it wasn't just well done, this steak was almost jerky. Pure charred glycotoxin. Of the 3 orders, mine was the only plate that didn't have any issues. After we discovered the steak being extremely overcooked, our savior of a server strolls by and has the audacity to ask is everything okay. I held back a laugh but was straining my facial muscles, smirking as I said "um yeah everything's terrible". My mothers significant other shows her the condition of his steak and even she was able to comprehend the level of frustration we were experiencing. Her response was "I even told the cook". This is about where I said something but I held my tongue, our server then takes the walk of shame back to the manager on the other side of the restaurant and as he sees her coming he quickly glanced at our table. I felt the awkwardness slowly creeping over as he came back to our table. He asks about the steak, we show him and he kind of smiles as he says, "we'll comp your guys' whole check" and then walks away. That was it. No sincere apology, no offer to make it up to us, just simply said, "we'll comp you guys' whole check" like that's it? Probably a top 3 worst restaurant experience for me. I don't know how that place continues to operate but Okay cool. So in conclusion, not only have you received the short version of what my family and I had to experience, but now you know you can totally get a free meal from this place if you go through what my family and I went through. They have changed their late night policy. It used to be that appetizers were half off after nine, but now they are half off IF you also buy a drink. This won't be as much of a bummer after I turn 21, but That means that the under 21 folks have to buy a 2 dollar and something cents soda if they want a half off appetizer. I hate buying sodas because it's such a rip off. It costs them like 10 cents for the soda, yet they charge almost 3 dollars for it. But I keep going for the trivia. That's about it. read more

She brought our drinks out with other tables drinks and took their order first. Waited over 30 minutes, after placing our order. Numerous other tables were getting their food; but ours didn't come out. Finally I asked waitress what happened to our order. She went in the kitchen and came out with our plates. My steak was good; but my shrimp was under cooked and the broccoli was old and over cooked. I mentioned it to the waitress. Didn't discount meal or make it right. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. They claim to be gluten free and I was dining with a friend who has to be gluten fir medical reasons. They handed her an allergen notebook that was not consistent in the listing, nor was it categorized. We complained to our waitress who claimed it wasn't her fault. The manager came over and stated the same thing. For a national chain to not have gluten free options is outrageous. And the attitude of the staff did not help. read more

This is my last visit to any Applebees ever. The food in this establishment is some of the most artificial tasting s*** I have ever put in my mouth. You know it didn't bother me so much when they built this place and didn't use a single local contractor but all of their profits go out of our community. They used to do a pretty decent steak but now all they have to offer is sirloin too bad. Tried to order a hamburger medium rare but they wouldn't cook it for me that way medium only. Wish I could give ZERO STARS!!! I gave up eating here for 6 months because they can NEVER get a to go order correct. So tonight I thought boy I'd love a burger & fries! So I ordered the "classic" burger. I go to pick it up. I figured with drive up service only I might get a decent burger. Also, it was only 4pm. Hopefully not to busy, which it wasn't! As usual I get my burger home, open it up and much to my surprise nothing had change with the food! I got a burger & a bun. The burger was so salty. I believe they use sea salt on it. It was actually thick with salt on top of the meat. So salty I couldn't eat it. Fries were worse. So salty, greasy & undercooked. Cold soggy fries at best! The menu states classic burger with lettuce, tomato, pickle & onion. Then you have the option to add extras to your burger. I alway order extra onions & pickles. Why oh why can't their cooks read the order! I will not eat here again. Usually when I order the classic burger they give me a cheese burger! I order a steak medium and it's like cooked over well done, like shoe leather!!!only because cooks can't read! Never going back and I'm going to tell everyone I know that eats here not to go. Haven't had Applebee's for 15 years due to poor experiences previously but this time had the chicken fajita rollup and three cheese chicken cavatappi and both were surprisingly delicious. Our server Schyler was amazing; very patient when I was indecisive and recommended the chicken fajita rollup. Friendly staff well-managed by Jose. Took my family here for dinner. It was a Friday Evening, and it was not really all that busy, as far as customers were concerned. We were seated straightaway, and that is where it all went kinda sour. The service was so very slow, from the time they took out order, it took about an hour just to get our food. It was almost as if the wait staff was very distracted. I overheard our neighbor table say, when their food came, "we forgot we had even ordered anything". We spoke with the Manager and he blamed it on the wait staff? And that in itself left a bad taste in my mouth. You see, in my mind, you don't throw anybody under the bus, you apologize, and say, something along the lines that we were short staffed for a busy friday. But don't throw anyone under the bus. You know, it was just an overall sad experience and will probably never return to this establishment in the future and would NOT recommend this property to any of my family and friends. Had me waiting about 1 hour for my food meanwhile they said it was ready. When I received my food it was stone cold.

My husband and I had dinner here on November 26th. I was so disappointed in the food, we won't be going back. We ate appetizers during happy hour, maybe that's the problem. He ordered the chips and salsa (he remembered that he didn't like the food last time). The chips were stale and the salsa was very bad. I've had better from a jar at the grocery store. I really don't need to go on, because who can't do chips and salsa right?!! Stale chips at a restaurant? I had the cheeseburger sliders. I remembered to order it without the sauce because it's too weird. The buns were soggy and pale. Not appealing to even look at, much less eat. The patties were under cooked, which is the opposite of what you'd expect on a small burger. On the tables they have new computers that you can play games on, for a fee; place orders; pay for your meal. We tried using it to check out because our waitress was so slow. It wouldn't work right, of course and we spent longer trying to get it right. I remember thinking that we wasted too much money at this establishment for what we got. But even the machine worked poorly as a review of our visa bill a couple days later showed that they only charged us 1/2 of what our total was. Unfortunately that was still too much for what it's worth. To top it all off, I went to their website to give this feedback to Applebee's, but could find no way to send comments to the company. You pretty much get what you expect. Very consistent. Staff is nice and helpful. Corvallis is a 100 times better than Albany.

Food is the usual Applebee's food. I will always love the wonton tacos. What needs improving is the wait staff. On Monday... They seat you and forget you. We got our ice water we had to ask for but no one came and took our order. Finally had to walk up to the bar and the bartender took our order. Still no waitress. The bartender was the most thoughtful person in the place. We weren't the only customers left sitting. Wasn't that busy either. read more

Really friendly service! This Applebee's isn't as bad as some of these reviews say it is. Me and my husband come here often and always have a good experience. The burgers are really good...while some menu items might be questionable, you can't go wrong with ordering a burger from here. Honestly the worst service I've ever gotten from a place. My boyfriend and I came in and was not greeted, it took us 10 minutes to get water because we had to call a server, it took us another 15 minutes to get food and got the wrong thing, and then we didn't hear back from any server the entire time we were there. We just had the most amazing dinner at Applebee's tonight! Our server Megan was amazing, definitely one of the best servers we've ever had! She was top notch with our young son, who can make going out to eat rather a challenge. She was so attentive to his needs, it ended up being one of the rare occasions but even though it was a family outing, it felt more like a date night! My wife and I stopped in here and got the two for $20 - petite sirloins and boneless wings for the app. The steaks were seasoned very well and they were extremely tender. I like mine medium and my wife likes her's medium well. Her steak was done perfectly for her, while mine was a little over done for me but not too much so I kept it. It was still very tender so I was happy. I'm not a big fan of veggies, except for the carrots and my plate had like 3 carrots, and a bunch of squash and zukes and a large broccoli head with a large stem. My wife loves the veggies, and she had a whole bunch of carrots, about the same squash and zukes and several large pieces of broccoli. she gave me her carrots while I gave her all my other veggies except the carrots. hmm... much better. The boneless chicken was juicy and tender and not dried out and overcooked like a lot of places. We ordered all the sauces on the side. I like the asian spicy as I also like to dip my steak in it. To start with, I have never been so disrespected at your Corvallis Applebee's on Veterans Day.I had the worst service ever. I was ignored by the manager, as he talked to people all around me. He looked at me and walked away. For a meal that was free to me, was not. I had a free plate, but anything else I asked for was charged full price. I asked the waitress for a drink with my meal, which I had to ask 3 different servers. 15 minutes later I received it. Ordered desert, which only came after I was ready to leave. Told the server I did not want it, she made me take it because it had already been charged to me. I will never enter your restaurant again. I will tell everyone I talk to. I want to start by saying the food here has never let us down. It's always hot, and tastes very good. The service here is absolutely terrible. The thing is that the servers are just overworked. I can't count the number of times I've been there and there has been ONE server. I'm not sure why that is because every time I've experienced it the restaurant was not slow. Tonight, 04/19/18, we took the family here again. We were sat and watched the one server run around. We'll call her "A." A was nice and tried to greet us quickly. It was easy to see that A had too many tables. A was nice but we rarely saw her. Drinks were not filled, and were only acknowledged right after the food came out. Bottom line was we got very little service, and it wasn't necessarily A's fault, but we didn't leave a large tip because we didn't get service. After we paid, A went out of her way to get a receipt we never asked for and came to our table. She then loudly stated how much the bill was and how much we paid. It was clear to us that A was trying to belittle us and made sure everyone could hear. It was maybe the most unprofessional thing I've seen a server do ever. I have gone to multiple apples with my boyfriend and we have had the same experience each time. Not one time has the service been slightly adequate. This last visit at the Corvallis location, by the AMC movie theater, we were seated promptly, the only thing prompt about our visit might I add. After we ordered out drinks it took our waitress 20 minutes to bring us our drinks and then she mentioned a previous table that dine and dashed a $200 meal. So, naturally, I had sympathy to her and planned on tipping good to lighten her spirits. That quickly changed. In the hour wait it took our food to get to our table my 4 friends had drank their drink, 1 single visit, and 1 refill that took 30 minutes to get to our table. When our food was finally brought to our table the two burgers that were ordered had soggy bottom buns and stale top buns. I could have thrown my grilled cheese sandwich at the window and I am pretty sure it would have shattered the glass. The soup I ordered was cold and flavorless. The only thing half way decent about our 4 meals was the breaded chicken strips, the easiest thing for a restaurant to make, and they were also cold. Definitely not going back. read more
