I have never had a bad experience here and I go regularly. Basic Applebee's food and drinks. The bar area is cool for smokers since you can still smoke there. The staff is usually pretty cool, there is the occasional dud but that is every chain restaurant. Specials all the time from $6 burgers to happy hour to kids eat free. read more

I ordered a chilli lime chicken to go and it looked like they took someones left overs and dumped it into a Togo bin. I had one slice of chicken cut up and the other piece was not, less then a cup of rice with no garnishments. It also looked disgusting like it was sitting for hours. I normally don't go to Applebees because the smell of smoke is so overwhelming when you walk in the door. Tried it today, sat at the bar & the bartender herself was waiting on all the tables at the bar ( which were all full due to Texans playing) while tending bar. The rest of the restaurant has about 5 tables and numerous wait staff wondering around. Never helping the BARTENDER. our food was cold, sent back to be reheated only, came out cold again. Overall, piss poor, pathetic management. No clue how it survives. Not to mention the water on the women's sinks in the bathroom wouldn't work. read more

Came in for lunch, immediately you get a heavy cigarette smell upon entering. Was seated opposite to bar to minimize smell. The food was average at best. Staff was friendly and courteous. There was no wait during lunch and the food came out quickly. If the restaurant had better ventilation to keep the heavy cigarette smell away I would rank it better. read more

I will start with the positives for my review. There was plenty of parking, the place was clean, and the staff members were friendly. We walked in around 4pm on a weekday and we were seated immediately. There was one other couple dining in when we arrived. By the time we left, there were about five tables being serviced. To start, we ordered sangria cocktail drinks from their latest menu. They were actually quite good. I was not extremely hungry, so I ordered soup and an appetizer to share. The spinach and artichoke dip was not bad. I've had better, but we killed it which means it hit the spot. My husband ordered grilled chicken and shrimp with grilled onions, bell peppers, and potatoes. It seems as if it was missing something. It think it should have included a salad or a veggie, but it didn't. He was not too crazy about it as it was a bit greasy and left him still feeling hungry. He topped his meal off with a Blondie dessert. It wasn't my cup of tea, but it seems as if he enjoyed it as he fully consumed the entire thing. We paid for the check using the tablet on the table, but our server never returned afterwards so we took that as our cue to leave and not request amything else. I just wanted a receipt. I would like to see this place make it as we don't have many options in the area. I will make it a point to stop in from time to time for drinks in the bar area which was huge! read more

Although I live in Crosby, I'd much rather make a 15 minute drive to wallisville for Applebee's. The service here is ugly and very hostile. Our server Samantha was hardly at our table, took 20 minutes to take our order even though the restaurant was completely empty aside from an older couple. After finally getting our food a man and his son come in and they had their service and food 10 times faster than we did. When paying for the check our server rudely came back and threw the receipts without so much of a "thank you for coming" because only $5 were tipped for the type of service she provided. Very unprofessional of her to scowl my sister, son and I until we walked out the doors. read more

Let me begin with this: I hadn't eaten at an Applebee's in probably 10+ years until my most recent trip. It's not something I would even really want, but in this case I had two $25 gift cards. So I thought "what the hell? It'll cover most of the meal, might as well give it a try." We start off with the pretzels and beer cheese and the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. The pretzels were pretty decent. The mozzarella sticks weren't great and they were also served with ranch, which I was thrown off by because I prefer the classic marinara sauce with it. My boyfriend and I ordered mixed drinks, he wasn't impressed with his. My first drink was pretty good, so I thought I'd try another. The next one I got, I literally couldn't drink it because there was an overwhelming taste of banana liqueur. It tasted like children's bubblegum flavored medicine. It was terrible. We ordered a corndog for my daughter, fish and chips for my boyfriend and I had a burger. The corndog looked like the frozen kind you get from the grocery store, which my daughter liked. But the fries were terrible. Neither of them ate the fries. He said his fish was soggy and bland. My burger was OK at best and the onion rings tasted like fast food onion rings. So other than general dissatisfaction with everything, the waitress did a really bad job. She came to our table 4 times (within a 30 minute period) and ignored the stack of empty plates we purposely pushed to the edge of the table so she'd take them out of the way, which she failed to do time and time again. I've been a server before and that is one of the biggest things I was taught, never leave the customers table dirty or cluttered. Anyways, so we got the check and I gave them my gift cards and of course, they don't work for some reason. Even though I had called the number on both to make sure they still had money, which they did. Never before been used. So I had to pay $81 for a meal and drinks that were truthfully horrible. When the only reason I even CONSIDERED going there was because of the gift cards. Felt like a huge waste of time and money. I spoke to the manager afterwards, she was very pleasant and nice. But overall, it was an awful dining experience and I should have known better. Don't waste your money, sonic is quicker and has much better quality food. read more

We went in for a little lunch on a saturday afternoon and our waitress Bobbi came up the the table to great us with a mouth of food. How do I know this she was chewing and talking! She got our drink order and headed to the next table. I observed her using her tongue to clean the food around her gums???? This place was slow. I tried to give this place another try. We went at 4:00 hoping to get there before the smokers. No such luck so we were blasted with the noxious fumes as we walked in the door. My glass had lipstick on the edge and dried red wine in the bottom. My burger was deliver sans lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, etc. in addition my silver ware had dried food on it. I have to say the food and service was good. However walking in you get blasted with a face full of cigarette smoke and it doesn't stay contained in the bar either. You have to smell it at your table too. It makes for a very unpleasant meal. It has been like this at this Applebees since it opened. Very poor space design. My friend and I went to the Crosby, Texas restaurant shortly after opening at 11AM for lunch. We were the only customers in the place. We sat in the bar area so we could smoke. The whole time we were in the dinery the 20ish staff kept plugging the juke box with South Beach and Rap music. The volume was much too high. Our food was OK but the dining experience was ruined by the loud music and immaturity of the staff. read more

We went in on a Thursday afternoon. Place was not busy. Greeter & waitress argued about seating us... in front of us (unprofessional) Waitress said she would do it just this one time...guess she was going off shift. We were seated. Son had to go find waitress twice for drink refills. Food was excellent, however halfway through meal my daughter looks at my tea and sees a black slime ball floating in it! She brought it up with my straw and we were all grossed out. We quit eating. Son finds waitress again. She gets manager. After a while he comes over. He was very nice & apologized. Said it was not the ice machine but his small dish machine that does not work well. Took my drink & tea off bill. We paid & immediately left. Did not tip waitress b/c she was never around. I've been to this location several times and for some reason always give them another chance but after this experience, there will not be another chance. My experiences range from wrong order, to scraping cheese off a burger then bringing it back to the table, slow service from people that don't seem to have the least bit of give a crap, to drug deals, yes drugs being bought between a server and some person that walked in the side door to make the deal. If the server is still there I"m the one that wrote "Don't do drugs" on the receipt, you might want to be a bit more discreet when you make your deals. Anyhow, so we walk in last night (Saturday) maybe around 8pm or so and the hostess at the front greets us then walks off without saying follow me, right this way or anything. Basically just walks off leaving us standing there asking ourselves if we should follow. She gets to the table and looks back with a "well are you coming" kind of look. So my wife proceeds to say "well we didn't know if we were supposed to follow or not". The hostess gives my wife a smirk, half ass, why are you bothering me, condescending look. You're a frumpy looking hostess at an Applebee's, the only look you should be giving anyone is a look of suprise that they are actually coming into this establishment. Once the server made it back to her spot folding napkins or whatever mindless task she was doing at the front, she decided to tell our waiter and laugh about the incident. Our waiter wasn't to bad but he didn't seem to excited to be serving those that are providing the money for his pay check and tip. I do not recommend this place to anyone, especially a family. I took my kids out to eat here and we were very disrespected, publicly humiliated and falsely accused. After paying my tab and tipping the waitress nicely, i was blocked at the door by two waitresses who refused to move out of the way stating that they were not moving and we were not going anywhere until we gave them the tablet device that we stole off of the table. I was SHOCKED. Never in my life have i ever been humiliated and disrespected in this way. They humiliated me in front of my children, and my family was humiliated in front of everyone in the restaurant . They would not get a manager when i asked and we literally had to force our way out the door. I called the police to make a report and now i have to wait for an investigation to be done. Where is the Justice? This is unbelievable. People that go places and spend their hard earned money should never be treated wrongfully. read more
