My first visit to Smashburger was via a Yelp Elite week. Marketing works because I've been back several times. Parking is easy. Lots of booth seating. Service with a smile. Sign up for their rewards program. They have so many great offers. Last visit was on National Burger Day. 5/28. $5.28 for any single Smashburger or chicken sandwich. My hubby got a loaded Egg Truffle Mushroom Smash. A fried egg, sautéed cremini mushrooms, arugula and truffle mayo on a certified angus beef burger. Added extra avocado and grilled jalapeños. I had the avocado ranch stack chicken loaded with a fried eggs, sautéed cremini mushrooms and avocado. Minus the bacon. So delicious. I ate half there, but was stuffed so I had the other half the next day for lunch. Heated up in my panini maker. Their black bean burgers, shakes and sides are also delicious. Their fries are so thin and crispy. Love to dip them in the truffle mayo. Crispy Brussels sprouts?? Just say yes! They are so good!! It was also nice meeting Tom Ryan the mad scientist behind the creation of the Smashburger chain. So interesting to learn to his knowledge of food and fragrance as the creative concept behind the Stuffed Crust Pizza and McGriddles in his long career in the food industry. I used the doordash service for delivery, Cross-street location; food came cold, in an open bag; they are supposed to tightly seal the bag. Lettuce was old, rest of the burger was tasteless. Doordash driver follows the instruction of the company not customer requests because he can't. Planning to try Uber eat. Doordash doesn't care food is cold or not. The food was okay but the waiter did not serve me my shake. After finishing my food, I waited for an extra 15 minutes for my shake, and the waiter was still not even making it. I asked him to make my drink and he finishes his order and starts getting his materials, only to open the refrigerator and pull out a jug of milk that was NOT EVEN FILLED WITH MUCH. He then stared at it for 10 seconds holding it in the light and then I just left. When she came out and was extraordinarily rude. Instead of getting behind the register to take my order, she stood to the side of the register, glaring at me and told me that she doesn't have to take my order. I'm genuinely appalled. This is the most disgusting behavior I've ever seen at a Smashburger franchise. If I spoke this way to one of my clients I would be fired. This is a great Smashburger. The dining inside is a bit tight if it is busy but there is a large covered patio with more tables for when the weather is good. Food was delivered quickly and correctly as ordered and I just love love love everything about smashburger patties. Most of all the flavor and crispy edge and that they actually cook the bacon properly so that it has bite and just the right amount of crunch to crisp the fat and not be chewy or brittle like glass. I remembered the smash fries as having a bit more olive oil and seasoning but overall we were very happy! I also observed the drink machines being cleaned and the drip trays while we were dining in and I can tell you it is a very thorough clean which was impressive to see. read more

It features curbside and drive thru as an option, great for those who order ahead through the app. Though the interior is a bit small and cramped, the outdoor patio is perfect on a nice day of one chooses to dine in. Smashburgers is one of my favorite burger chains. While on the pricey side, they do offer discounted specials every once and awhile like a Classic Smashburger, as well as lots of tasty options. Turkey and black bean patties are a great healthier option as well as crispy and grilled chicken sandwiches. Hell, they even have chicken strips! So this has been my new spot lately. Jacob is always going over and beyond whenever I pickup my food. I've been having an issue ordering my grilled chicken sandwiches and he always makes it right. I don't know if he's a manager or not but I always look forward to seeing him when I come in. Was this the same Smashburger that was near The Galleria? I attended the grand opening 8 years ago. Oh, my mistake. It's a different restaurant. I actually like this one on Richmond Avenue. Because it's located at the strip center shared with 24-Hour Fitness that I frequent. I kept looking at this Smashburger from outside. Was this a bank with drive-up tellers? If it is, they did a good job by converting it to pick-up windows. On the opposite site of entrance was the curbside pickup spots. On the inside, it gets quirky. As I walked in, I see the restrooms and a cove seating that looks like for little kids. The seat back painted with colors from children's school uniform. Then, I make a left turn to see the rest of the dining room. Ordering is right in the center of the room. I always have problem reading the movable menu. As I was told, they can't control the speed nor stop the slides. Ok. No problem. I'll just take a picture and enlarge it on my phone. The menu is very well organized and categorized. My favorite part is there are choices of double patties and single patty. I have tried doubles and that was about 2 pounds of a single burger. I'm not a young man anymore. That's 2 meals for me. So, my usuals are the singles paired with a side. Since I don't eat fries, it's usually Brussels Sprouts, which is very greasy. I had to wipe the grease off with napkins. There's also an outdoor seating area, with no roof. If you like outdoor dining or if your 4-legged friends came with you, patio is perfect place to enjoy the Smashburger experience. Wow! Super impressed with this location. Smash burger has been around the Houston area for at least a decade or more it feels like, so I might have written it off as just a chain. This new location really brought me back to why I used to like coming here in my high school days. Plenty of parking and a pick up window at the old teller window of this building that used to be a bank, make it easy to come in or grab something to go. It's a little small inside but it's clean and the staff was great. Super cheerful and the manager was there saying hello to guests. The food was better than I had let myself remember. I got a Classic Double Smash Burger with everything on it than I honestly destroyed in like 3mins. I forgot to snap a pic for Yelp because I was enjoying it that much. My first time here was a great way for me to pregame before heading to Minute Maid Park to watch the Astros take on the Rangers yesterday. Beneath the shadow of the Williams Tower and some of the Uptown Houston skyline, Smashburger sits as a standalone establishment in the parking lot of this - as far as I'm concerned - unidentified shopping center. From what I gathered from the Street View feature on Google Maps, the previous occupant was a bank. Being a rookie to the Smashburger franchise, I researched the menu beforehand and laid on my eyes on the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger so ordered that. But when it came to the side, the woman at the counter recommended I go with the Smash Tots. I dug how my burger came to me hot and fresh as did the tots. While I don't know exactly how a Smashburger is made, all I know is that it can its own against Whataburger or even In-N-Out. Well, it serves gourmet burgers so it arguably surpasses its fast food counterparts in quality, taste, and portions. The patties, mushrooms, and cheese in the Truffle Mushroom Swiss Burger combined to form a delicious, ooey gooey welcoming committee for my stomach and tastebuds. I just wished the burger were bigger. Still, it didn't sour my budding fancy for this establishment. Lastly, I could've sworn the Smash Tots were made with some secret recipe because they were addictively tasty. *Snaps fingers* Oh, okay.
